This place was a find!! Husband had the biscuits and gravy (I tried a bite...happily), and the staff recommended I get the turkey sweet. They also said I should get it "pressed" like a panini, so I did. Holy schnikes, Batman!! Add to the solid food options a time warp playlist (circa 1983), and we will surely be back for more!! This is an "order at the counter" spot, yet they have a full bar and make their own caramel for their lattes. If you're in the mood for chill vibes, this should be your new go-to for brunch! read more

This is a decent option if you are downtown and need a quick bite. The pastrami sandwich was decent, but I felt like $20 for it is pretty steep. The interior is pretty kitschy but cute. We didn't know it, but we arrived 15 minutes before closing. The person at the register was very short with us and they started cleaning up and checking their watch as we were eating. read more

Came in with a friend for a little late birthday brunch. this is a counter service restaurant where you order at the counter and they deliver your food. They have breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner items along with sweet pastries and treats and coffee, both boozy and non-boozy available. we ordered the challa french toast, biscuits and gravy, and I had the shrimp and grits. The shrimp and it was really good flavored well with a perfect amount of cheese. It came with about five juicy shrimp cooked to perfection with green onions and a nice little seasoning sauce that they put on top to bring it all together. I tried the bourbon iced latte, it was just OK for all of us. The food I would give five out of five coffee, three out of five decor and service also five out of five. they had fresh flowers for sale, Waltons merch, as well as There famous seasoning. would definitely come back and try more on the menu. I was happy to see they did have vegetarian options available as well. read more

Stopped in with some friends for a sweet treat! Tried the honey bee cake- it was dense but moist! A great combo and paired with the cream filling was amazing. The carrot cake was unique- definitely didn't expect the texture it has but I was happy with it! It's a very light desert. The latte was a bit too sweet for me but next time I would just ask for less syrup. The place is super cool and spacious- there's plenty of seats. The desserts over all were beautiful- def need to try more of them. I have my eye on the cheesecake brownies read more

I would rate this 4.5, the Rueben that we ordered was very good. The Bloody Mary was very garlicky, and the lemonade was good. The space feels tight but they were able to get quite a bit of seating in regardless. Interesting that they have a florist shop too. Highly recommend the peanut butter cookie! The raspberry/walnut scone was nice but the cream cheese brownie was a bit heavy and dense. read more

Walton's Fancy and Staple is a bakery/cafe with a decent variety of options to choose from as well as a quaint and welcoming interior. We went on a warm afternoon when it wasn't too busy and looking for a quick sweet treat. Since it's directly on 6th be mindful of parking since that may be an issue, just as a heads up. There's a good assortment of pastries to choose from and we settled on a chocolate birthday cake macaroon and one of their chocolate hearts. The workers seem very happy and friendly but they did take a while to work through the line and also get our stuff ready to go. Once we got our things we ended up taking it to go but ate it within a few minutes of stepping out. The chocolate birthday cake macaroon was good, but not stellar. It does a good job as tasting as it would be advertised, but it wasn't anything we felt you couldn't get at another bakery. Similarly, the chocolate heart was good, but not as good as you would expect for something coming out of a place dedicated to baking. That might seem a bit harsh, but let us clarify that their baked goods are much better than store bought, just not as good as we had hoped them to be. We will definitely be back if in the area to give them another shot, hopefully for brunch so we can try out some more of their other options as well. read more

Several years later and still one of my favorite breakfast spots! I tried their fig & goat cheese croissant this trip and it didn't disappoint. Nice walk in Café for an 8 AM dash. I ordered the avocado toast and a Cortado and a café au lait. Their version of avocado toast is pretty good with the pickled onions, adding nice pop-up color and crunch and tartness. The Cortado was also very good. The disappointment was the Café au lait, which was terribly watery. I'm sure they would have substituted if I had been at the restaurant, but this was a to go order. They were friendly at the counter and accommodating of my request for scrambled eggs rather than soft yolk for the avocado toast. I'll probably come back for another breakfast tomorrow read more

Sandra Bullock's fancy basics are an excellent choice for a house-blend mocha on the scenic 6th street patio or more intimate lunch indoors. Like the gourmet Panera, I'm always excited to try a new combination of housemade breads and croissant with a half-sandwich/salad combo. Ingredients are fresh, flavors are original. Turkey Sweet with the apple-onion chutney, bacon, and maple aioli is my go-to with a Spinach & Arugula salad - classic, with polish. My favorite thing must be trying to decide which beautiful pastry from the case - latest crave was a chocolate fondant covered honey cake with a special blend mocha - every sort of indulgent, atmosphere included. read more

I have not been back to Walton's since 2022 and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they now have chicken sausage on their breakfast menu! I ordered a biscuit sandwich with of course, chicken sausage and it was made with a herb aioli that was surprisingly good. My husband chose the eggs Benedict and enjoyed it. I love that your food is not just made to order, but lovingly, made it order. I couldn't help but notice the presentations of each dish and I really appreciated the attention to detail to each plate. Waltons is also one of the very few places you can get a good sandwich or salad without breaking the bank. The dessert case is always extremely tempting, but I settled for the honey lavender latte instead. read more

We've been going to Walton's from our office for well over 10 years. I'd give them a fifth star if they brought back the ham and swiss on a pretzel bun. Holy smokes that was good. We've been going a bit more in the past year or so because the choices downtown are pretty thin, and the sandwiches at Whole Foods are not worth what they're asking. I haven't had a sandwich at Walton's that I didn't like yet. There's usually a blue plate special if you look around on the counter to see what extra they might have. Their desserts are excellent, so if you need extra temptation, cruise the sweets cabinet while you're standing in line. Speaking of the line, you can't casually go to Walton's and expect them to hand you a sandwich in the time you might expect a Thundercloud to execute. The line can get pretty long, and the longer it is, the slower it goes. This is most true in the 11:50-12:30 window. We've shown up and walked up to order, and we've shown up to a line on the sidewalk. Don't get me wrong, your lunch will be worth waiting for, if you have the time. They have online ordering if that helps. Eating onsite is fine, but if there's 5 or more, space can get tight. read more

First time I pulled up I got the bourbon vanilla latte and the red velvet whoopie pie. Both were legit. The latte was smooth, not too sweet, just solid. And the whoopie pie? Dangerous. Soft, rich, had me low-key debating a second one right there. Came back a few days later and went for the banana miso latte and I'm not gonna lie, that one hit. Sweet, creamy, little savory vibe from the miso that just worked. read more

Waltons is an interesting local eatery in West 6th. I'd say the ambiance and the convenience are the key standouts of this place. There are no real practical parking being located off the corner of a downtown block so you're really only coming if you are already around the area. The staff is nice and warm and they also have cute boutique-y trinkets and flowers for sale but as a restaurant / food establishment, it really feels like things fall flat. To start, the food is extremely pricy. Their menu is mainly simple staples - soups, salads, and sandwiches, but expect to pay almost $25 after tax and tip for any one of these options since most items have a base price of $15 - 20 for a relatively modest portion size. The food itself is largely forgettable, and again seems to peg the location and convenience over any standout culinary qualities. read more

I've had lunch here on two occasions and both experiences were different. The first visit was amazing. After placing our order, the food was brought promptly to our table. On my second visit (party of 3), we placed our orders and had to repeatedly check with the front staff for an update. We got our food 30mins later. Meanwhile, people who had arrived after us were immediately served. It appeared our order was lost in queue or mixed up during the handling process. Needless to say, our food was delicious, but the excessive wait time was not pleasant. read more

Overall okay cafe for work and food. I did not try the coffee. Noise level - 66db normal conversation Wifi speed - 13 down 0.8 up Power plugs - about 6 by the wall Seats - 50 indoors Parking - street paid parking The service was great the barista was friendly. But the food review was mixed. My Staple Breakfast was underwhelming for the $14 I paid - I feel that it was not worth that value, I'd be happier with maybe a fruit cup on the side. Maybe I read the menu wrong as there's a long list of items to choose from and you only get 1. Who would have thought a Staple Breakfast can't fill you up... My spouse got the Ham and Eggs Benedict for $16 and was surprised she got a side of fruit even though it's not stated on the menu. I'd have gotten that if I knew. Overall vibes are very nice for brunch and not for remote work. But the brunch did not blow me away and I was still hungry after my Staple Breakfast. read more

My sister lives in Austin took us here for brunch and it was not disappointing just like the owner (American sweetheart, Sandra Bullocks). The moment you walk into the establishment, you just felt relaxation right away, no need to rush or anything (even though it can be crazily packed on the weekend). You ordered right there at the counter and get your # and go get the table in the back or in the alley which decor can be colorful and girly but masculine enough for the men. Great staff from the front to the back. Great quality of foods, fresh & tasty. Want to get more but tummy is just fully packed so have to be another time. Check it out and enjoys the great foods, great drinks, great atmosphere and great staff. Price wise, good but can be on the high end but definitely worth it. read more

We've walked past this spot so many times but thought it was just a flower shop and bakery. When I learned it was owned by my girl crush, Sandra Bullock, I knew we had to try it! Plenty of seating! From the outside, it deceptively looks like there's limited spots but there's an entire separate dining area separated by an interior brick wall. I had the shrimp and grits which was amazing and the latte was legitimately better than Starbucks. read more

This place is right across the street from the Canopy hotel and serves a display case of various baked goods from macarons to brownie bars, mini tartlets, croissants, cookies and everything your pastry eyes can muster. The tippy bar had interesting flavors, I can't say I'm a huge fan given how deafeningly sweet and dense it is but the coconut does break up the one sweet tone and symbiotic texture. I would want to try my hand at their salty oat cookie next time and feed that sweet, savory and chewy side of me we so desperately miss. The grits are very very mushy and creamy. It's got a mild flavor but does get the grits fix fixin'. The potato hash was a last minute add on, let's just say our ears were hungrier than our stomachs. It was perhaps the least appetizing out of all 5 dishes. Cause we starving. The biscuit and egg was yummy but also, again, very equal texture throughout. It wasn't the usual flaky dense biscuit I was used to but a more fluffy and secure, hold-together top and bottom bun. It holds up quiet nicely to what's sandwiched in between. Lastly we have the star of the order- avocado toast with the softest boiled egg that somehow holds its gorgeous shape after being peeled. I don't know how they did this, but it is so soft and so round, so runny and so sesame-seedy. The hot sauce and sesame seeds gives the toast an Asian flair without trying. Nothing here by the way really requires a knife. But it may be less messy if you use one. To be perfectly honest though the egg was too watery for my liking. I could jiggle chunks of whites out as the yolk disappears into the rest of this avocado jiżżum. Super friendly and smiley service though. I wish everyone was this wonderful everywhere! read more

Ate at this cute little café on Monday of a holiday/MLK weekend. They do not take reservations, and we had no problems getting a table at around 11:30am, but they mentioned it does tend to get a little more crowded a little later in the day. Order at the counter, I'm vegetarian, which limited the lunch options, but I went with breakfast - the biscuit egg sandwich with cheese and tomato. The cashier who took our order was very friendly. There were four of us, and they took note that we were all together, however our food did all come out one at a time. The 2 lunch sandwiches first, and then one coffee, then one breakfast sandwich and then my coffee then my breakfast sandwich. I really loved my toasted coconut latte, it was delicious. I also enjoyed my biscuit sandwich. The café was cute and cozy, and mostly all of the tables were taken by the time we were leaving. read more

I was surprised to find out that there is a brunch spot tucked in-between all the bars and clubs of West 6th. They really nailed down the aesthetic with a quaint, rustic vibe that's perfect for a midday meal with a partner or friends. The place make look small at first, but if you enter through a little hallway in the back, there's quite a bit more seating! We ended up ordering the Breakfast Tacos (Meat) and the Challah French Toast, alongside a Caramel Latte. The flour tortillas for the tacos were crisp, and the tacos themselves surprisingly didn't feel too heavy despite the ingredients (potatoes, cheese, sausage, egg). It also comes with a refreshing green salsa. I will say that some bites felt a bit oversalted. The French toast was very well done. Toast had great crisp and all the ingredients made for a delicious toast that was sweet (but not too sweet). I'll have to come by here again, maybe for lunch, and try some other items. Overall you will not get some fancy, exquisite, over-the-top meal here. But they do the simple stuff quite well. read more

I noticed Walton's Fancy and Staple since it was right across from our hotel, so when it came up in my search for breakfast options I decided to check it out with Nate. I didn't know Sandra Bullock had a restaurant in Austin, but apparently she owns this place. It's a cute historic building that houses a cafe/coffee shop, flower shop, and gift store. Walking in I was a bit overwhelmed with the large menu boards and delicious-looking pastry case, but I knew that I needed something on the healthier side after our first day of eating and drinking in Austin. The farm salad sounded so good: Arugula and herb salad, soft boil egg, bacon, pickled onion, avocado and sesame seed mix with lemon vinaigrette. Nate got the veggie breakfast tacos, with scrambled egg, mushroom, onion, red bell pepper and Cheddar cheese on a flour tortilla. They have lots of great options for breakfast/brunch and lunch from savory to sweet, healthy to rich. I honestly would try everything on the menu here so it's kind of sad we only got to stop in once! Our food came out quickly and looked so good. The salad was a generous size with high quality ingredients. The bacon was thick cut and perfectly crispy! I loved the soft boiled eggs and the chili oil gave it a spicy kick, which I really enjoyed. This salad was exactly what I needed. Nate liked his breakfast tacos. I'm definitely coming back to Walton's if I'm in the area again! read more

We stopped by with family while visiting Austin for the holidays. We had dim sum on Sunday afternoon and needed a sweet treat and coffee pick me up. Little did we know that we're stopping by a shop owned by Sandra Bullock! I'll have to add more photos of the interior and their other baked goods when I return, but I was very impressed by the quality of the lemon blueberry tart. There was an excellent balance between sweetness and tartness, the shell/crust was crisp yet could be eaten with a fork, and the blueberries were farmers market fresh. It's such a cute shop with rustic charm and the friendliest staff. They also have savory fare like sandwiches and a pretty large coffee menu with homemade syrups. This is an example of a place that lives up to its hype and I'll definitely be back for a visit soon. read more

This was not a pleasant experience. I had watched a TV special about Walton's and heard the owner speak, which made it sound like a place I would really enjoy visiting with my daughter. Unfortunately, that was not the case. When we arrived, there was not much of a crowd. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant at first. However, as soon as my daughter set our belongings on a table we had chosen, an employee immediately approached and harshly questioned whether we could not see that the table was being cleaned. We were unaware of this. She then told my daughter to move our things. At the time, I was still at the counter ordering. My daughter moved our belongings to a nearby high-top table, and the employee followed up with a sarcastic comment asking, "Are you going to get that dirty too?" When I joined my daughter, I could tell by her expression that something upsetting had occurred. The same employee returned and continued to speak to us in a very rude and hostile manner, clearly more focused on wiping tables than treating customers with basic courtesy. I understand that employees have tasks to do, but customer service should come first. This interaction felt unnecessary, disrespectful, and unwelcoming. It left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. This occurred on January 19, 2026, between approximately 2:45-3:00 PM. Management may want to address this employee's behavior and provide additional training on professionalism and customer interaction. Having a bad day is not an excuse to treat paying customers poorly. Sadly, this experience ensured that we will not be returning. read more
