    Succulent planting party
    Christina H.

I haven't had the opportunity to stop by the actual store yet, but I have had the pleasure of attending a succulent planting party hosted by Succulent Native. This was a great experience and who knew I would have so much fun learning about succulents! Succulent Native made everything so easy and our succulent guru was incredibly knowledgable, kind, chill and so patient! They offered different neutral colored pots and had 3 different succulent variations for us to choose from. From there, our guru instructed us on how to repot the plants and how to set it up in its' new home with potting soil and decorative rocks.

Loved this place! Came for a friends birthday who rented it out for a succulent party, and it was a blast. Super fun to do before dinner or brunch!

We visited succulent native & cannot wait to go back! We are big plant lovers and were immediately greeted by a very kind lady. The store is so cute with lovely pots, plants, pottery, and incense! We bought this little guy today & are in love! Can't wait to take our plant babies back for repotting and to adopt new plant babies.

Brought in my own white planter and one of my own succulents and had a $50 budget for them to plant. I also gave them a 15% tip so I spent $70 on this. I got this and know very well how to take care of succulents by not overwatering them. In a month it looked like this with 2 of the 3 plants dying. My own plant is thriving still. I asked if they can repot the dead or dying plants but stated that don't offer replacement, refund or repotting, but that they could give tips on how to take care of it in the future. Poor value and I'd say, poor customer service, and obviously not healthy plants.

I bought four small plants here, at different times, and two died after gradually turning black and mushy even after I reduced water. None of my other plants have done this in the same light and water situation. One was a rubber tree, which I have successfully grown before. One was potted in the store, (pictured) and I watered according to their instructions, and it's dying. The fourth is doing well, fortunately. I'm fully aware many factors are at play here, but since two of them probably had fungus, and another one is going to die, I wonder if it's not me. This is a unique and a very adorable setup, with friendly folks working there, but too expensive to keep tossing dead plants.

I am soooooooo thrilled I got a chance to come here last week. My boss drives by this place every day for work and decided to stop in a few months ago. She loves it so much, she decided to take us during lunch. They had so many beautiful succulents to choose from, ranging in varies sizes and colors from all over. There were numerous pots to choose from in different colors, shapes and sizes. They had plant Birthday/greeting cards, the staff was so knowledgeable, creative and friendly. Together we designed one of the beautiful heart shaped pot below. I will definitely come back.

Attended the Intro to Succulents Workshop on Sunday with my group. So much fun. I learned a lot about succulents and plants and how to take care of them. For example the plant below I had no idea you only need to give it 2 teaspoons of water once a week. Recommend taking this class with your friends. The lady leading it was very informative and knew what she was talking about. Also so friendly!

BEAUTIFUL plants! House plants, succulents, and cacti. A real cute spot for plant lovers of all kind. Picked up a huge road kill cactus (not pictured) for $50. They have some rare plants and common. Def worth checking out!

Such a cute spot! You'll notice you've arrived when you see the cute cactus mural on the north side of the building. They have lots of small and medium size home plants and some awesome fiddle leaf fig trees. A perfect spot to pick up a quick gift or something to treat yourself. I ended up getting a few pots and small plants. Staff was very sweet and helpful. Highly suggest checking it out if you're a plant lover & even if you're not.

I love Succulent Native! I stopped in today for my first time and was not disappointed! You can pick out a plant and they will plant it in your selected pot! Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Products are great in value and price, I can't wait to sign up for one of their workshops and to be a regular. Today was day one of starting my succulent collection! Thank you Succulent Native for being everything I had hoped for! :)

Staff is always friendly and helpful. I never feel silly for asking questions here. They have a wonderful variety of plants, planters and gift items. I haven't tried one of their classes yet, but hope to when they start back up. Got some new plant babies today and they are perfect for my new shelves.

This is a beautiful, succulent shop with a wonderful owner and staff! My daughter is a loyal customer and true fan. The prior location was great, but the new location is amazing. Their selection of succulents is refreshing and they definitely have something special for everyone and for every occasion. In fact, they actually said "Yes" when my daughter asked to have her private wedding there! They provided her handmade: crown, bouquets, boutonniere, and wedding favors. So Yelpers, I ask this question... If a bright, friendly succulent shop (with a unique and addictive selection of plant options) gets 5 stars - What do you give a retailer that goes above and beyond to make a special day turn out PERFECTLY? Answer: All of our business and yours. Thank You, Succulent Native! Shannon (owner), Crafted the flower crown and made sure our event was everything we wanted it to be. Pam was the event coordinator and talented bouquet specialist. Leah was so helpful that she literally became a part of our event - before, during, and after!

As soon as the delivery arrived, got a photo notice; super helpful!

We are starting to sell soil this coming week starting Tuesday.

Do you sell succulent seeds by any chance?

We do not. We do sell a variety of small succulents in 2" containers.

First, I was overcharged by almost $300. I didn't realize it until I was about 30 minutes away. After several phone calls, they agreed to refund the overcharge, but this should have been caught before I left. I was told the price check hadn't been cleared properly. Second, one of the bags of compost I purchased was full of mold and had turned into a mushy, unusable mess. I expect better quality control and more attention at checkout, especially from a business I go out of my way to support. I hope they address these issues because I'd like to continue shopping here.

On busy times no one answers the phone no matter which selection you make. On at Tues morning finally I did get someone to answer the phone. They were not able to answer a simple question so they put me on hold to go ask someone else. They got back on the line , gave me an incomplete quick response and never ended the call. Then began talking to another customer about an order while I was still holding on. Rude and disrespectful. The poor service does not warrant their higher prices compared to Home Depot or Lowe's. I think that perhaps Shoal Creek seems more interested in landscape companies with big orders, not your regular homeowner. My experience at the Arbor walk Home Depot was so pleasant. Better value and friendly service.

I went in looking for one glorious Casablanca stem, which retail for $10 to $25 at most florists in the US, IF you can find them. This is a flower that can't be found in Austin, Texas. Instead, I walked out with an armful of Casablancas - some withered, banged up and stained - for a price that was so unbelievable that I'm not even going to share it here. When I got home and appraised my purchase, I realized that I had approximately 10 mostly extraordinary stems along with several throwaways. Austin Flower sells wholesale and retail flowers to people willing to make their own arrangements... or folks like me who are obsessed with Casablanca flowers. Do not come here expecting a lot of service. Come here if you are looking for flowers you cannot find anywhere else in the city. You might be bitterly disappointed. Shopping here is a little tricky. It's not likely that you will get what you came for. Or you might walk out feeling like you've robbed a bank.

Asked an employee for help making a small bouquet around the $30-35 range, mentioned I was on a college student budget. she said it would be hard but handed me some spray roses and grass filler. There are no prices listed on the items she handed me. It rang up for $50, but the employee had already wrapped it all up before pricing it. Felt I had no option but to pay. Wish there were at least a few better priced options so it's easier to support business like this, and wished the employees were more transparent. For reference, exact same bouquet at central market is about $22. Mother's day markup? Idk
