Does this place even exist? My son and I tried to find it today, passed down Manchaca 3 times without luck. Even the GPS was confused.

Boy howdy am I glad I found this special gem today while searching for a great local nursery! I…read moreneeded several succulent plants priced below $3 each to give out to my residents at the apartment community that I manage. I contacted a favorite local nursery of mine, but the price per plant was pretty high for my budget. I resorted to Some "big box" options, but the selections at Wal-Mart and Home Depot were pretty shabby, especially for the price. Thank goodness I plugged in the word "nursery" in my Google Map app! That's how I found Far South Nursery just a few miles away from my work! When you arrive at the property there is an area to park and then you will walk up a hill and down a short road to get to the nursery. When I arrived I was greeted by a few employees and a really cool dog named Sweet Pea. I explained what I was looking for and I was taken by golf cart to an area with an epic and amazing selection of beautiful, home grown succulents. I picked 18 plants and they were only $1.50 a piece!!!! Unheard of! I was then driven to my car where I received help loading the plants in my car, then we went back up the hill so I could make my very small payment, and I was even offered a ride back to my car. I opted to walk because the place is so beautiful and I wanted to enjoy my awesome experience fully. I also just like walking a lot. It's not open on weekends, but it's worth a long lunch break or half day off work for a visit. I cannot wait to go back!

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE NURSERY! I mean the selection is endless! (Except for the bicolor iris we were…read morelooking for). I mean this place has acres, plants everywhere! It is a bit of a hidden gem, but it's worth driving to find! I attached some pictures from our walk out after speaking with a very friendly blondish staff member who helped us find a place that would have the bicolor iris we were hunting for. Any other plants I ever need in the future, I will be getting from here! Did I say endless plants yet?! Make a trip over and you won't be disappointed, get ready to walk if you really want to see all of the great choices they offer!

This place deserves the **"I have escaped the concrete hellscape and entered the garden…read moresanctuary"** review. We absolutely LOVED Green Planet Scapes. We had just come from the big-box garden center, so walking into a nursery with **SHADE**, beautiful healthy plants, reasonable prices, and people who actually care about what they're selling felt downright luxurious. The staff was attentive, kind, and genuinely knowledgeable--and, most importantly to us, they clearly give a darn about native plants and the ecosystem they're going into. They had **actual native milkweeds for our monarchs**, including Asclepias tuberosa, and I was thrilled to see that they **do not sell tropical milkweed**. That alone tells me this is a nursery paying attention rather than just stocking whatever will sell. And the whole place just feels *loved*. There are thoughtful little details everywhere to enhance the experience. At one point, classical music was playing (seriously) while we wandered around freely (and finally not sweating) on a summer Saturday, looking at gorgeously curated plants, and I thought, "Well, I guess this is where we buy things now?" Grateful to Green Planet for saving us the gas money we used to spend driving down to Natural Gardener. Compared to the big boxes: Cooler, cheaper, kinder, more chill, more knowledgeable, more beautiful--and you're supporting a local place that actually seems to care about what grows well here. And they're tucked immediately off of 620 and hard to spot--unless your eyes naturally gravitate to 20 ft tall green inflatables? Turn immediately! You will have found your new go to plant place.

Lots of good plants in for fall. Was happy to see a native Milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa) for sale!read more
