I ordered online using a gift card I received 4 years ago. I made some mistakes on my order and payment, so I emailed for assistance and received immediate, polite help. The plants were delivered within a couple of days, to my doorstep, and they were beautiful! The plants and service exceeded my expectations. Customer service is highly responsive and the plants themselves were clearly grown with love. I think the prices are very fair, and delivery to my area was just $10. I got a lot more bang for my buck at Lonestar Nursery than when I used a gift card to buy plants from Burpees. Lonestar's plants are much larger, healthier and better. They hand-delivered them instead of shipping them through the mail. I am thrilled with my purchase and look forward to getting more plants soon. read more

I am not one who typically leaves bad reviews however, I am over it at this point. After no response from multiple emails, two deliveries with aphids on the plants...done. I get that not everyone has had bad experience, in fact it was my mom who referred me to them. She's never had a bad experience. Unfortunately i am not able to say the same. Today's delivery was about $100 worth of plants. From $8 milkweed to $18 passion flower. Oversold and under delivered. I feel like I got the "Wish" version instead. Would you pay $8 for something much smaller than its name tag? Not likely. Looks like I need to stick to Snoopers. They don't deliver but I prefer quality so there's that. read more

I'm obsessed with Lone Star Nursery. Truly it doesn't get better than them, and I think I'm probably going to develop a bad habit (if I haven't already). I find them to be affordable, their plants always arrive in great condition, I have experience with their plants growing beautifully, and they deliver free to your door if you order $40 worth or plants or more (within 45 miles of Manor, Texas). They deliver within a week if not earlier, text you when they are on their way and try to place your plants in an ideal location. They also text you after they've successfully dropped off. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this nursery. You won't be disappointment. Just in case you are curious about their practices: I once asked over email if they grow organically and received this reply: "We are a grower and do not outsource plants. We do not use any unnatural pesticides, or soil amendments. Though we used to be "certified organic" we did away with the certification implement, and continue to grow 100% organically. I have a weird work schedule and can't usually get to plant shops when they're open. LoneStar enables me to have my garden anyway, and I love them for it. I love knowing that everything they sell was actually grown very locally. All the plants I've gotten have been super healthy and the one time a sunflower got bumped around, they were open and upfront about it and tbh i think they were more than kind about it, considering it bloomed anyway! I was really excited to receive a Hoya Mathilde splash from lone star nursery. It is a dream plant for me. I think the plant is beautiful, but it came unfortunately infested with yellow aphids. While the plant is beautiful, I give this two stars because it was $98 dollars and, because aphids can fly, there is a potential that my other plants could be affected. read more

Two stars. Great selection of plants and friendly folks--but I went to their pop up plant sale. It was the day after a freeze and it was too, too, clear that they hadn't sheltered their succulents overnight. The string of hearts had mushy leaves and visible damage, and I should have said something to the many folks who were buying them. The pagoda plant that I shouldn't have bought started losing leaves in three days! That was too soon for me to have overwatered--in fact, I was checking the soil for dryness when an entire stem fell off. I'm nursing it along now. I know plants are not guaranteed but since I've had succulents for 40 years and rarely lose any of my plants--tropicals, vegetables, herbs, cactuses and succulents--I think it's on Lone Star. read more

Great nursery! First, great prices - you can go crazy buying all sorts of plants, and not be po' after that. Also, you can ask them a million questions, and they still won't look at you weirdly. I love this nursery. They have a great selection of plants, trees, vegetables and herbs. (They make herbal mosquito replant spray too!) They are very knowledgeable about their product, what/how to grow, when to grow. My Aloe and Oregano plants are still thriving, even in this crazy Texas heat.
