Beautiful place for a roadside pit stop. I visited on mid day Saturday. Nice landscaping and well outfitted plant nursery. There's also a Tex-mex restaurant there and a host of other small businesses. Clean restrooms. Lots of outdoor seating. Looks like there is even a place for an outdoor concert venue if they host an event. read more

Community Gardens is an ever changing place lol there was a sports bar in there that we enjoyed but it is no longer there. We enjoy the Christmas market that they have every year. There's also a place there that sells plants and outdoor gardening needs, but they seemed a little pricey to me. I've never gone there to listen to any live music but would love to hear what that is like. It seems like one of those places that you're not exactly sure what it is! read more

What a gem! I almost don't want to write this review, cause I don't want it to get too popular. The coffee is perfect. I have a lot of respect for a barista that knows how to make a proper flat white and a proper Cortado and knows the difference and that it's not a cappuccino. The bowls are fantastic, the toast is fantastic, the sandwiches are fantastic, and the ambience is incomparable. A pleasant surprise in the neighborhood. read more

I love this place during the events they put on. I have only been disappointed once and that was when they didn't have the bounce house up. They always have things for the kiddos to do and the space is so friendly. I look for events there before anything else. Highly recommend this place. read more

We ventured in after a hike at McKinney Roughs - this place is gem! Offering food, drinks (juice bar and alcohol bar), gardens, animals, and an inflatable water slide park (for both kids AND adults!), all from local businesses. Our dogs were even allowed inside to escape the heat as we ate an amazing lunch! Before leaving, we had the pleasure of speaking with the land owner, Aaron, who was extremely nice and welcoming. Formerly the Outdoor Marketplace, this place is a gem. I was fortunate to attend the ribbon cutting today and get a preview and tour. This place is your one-stop shop for all things home and garden. They've got Graystone Nursery, Runkle's Custom Pools, Landmark Landscape Group, and about 50 other vendors selling everything from custom cast iron creations and RMK glass to housewares, jewelry, even Puppology with fresh baked dog treats. There's a koi fish pond and chicken coop. They're actively working on a beer barn and outdoor stage for live music.I even see that they're planning a dog park. Monthly events to come! I'm very excited to take my family here to relax, shop, and enjoy the beautiful venue. read more

Stopped here on a Sunday on our way back to Houston because of the good reviews. There was only one other couple here. I ordered a spicy Bloody Mary; it was excellent. My husband ordered the Hero's Burger with fries and loved it. I ordered the Reuben with homemade potato chips. The Reuben itself was tough and dry. They brought me tortilla chips instead of the homemade potato chips. They said they had run out they night before. They tasted terrible. Had I been asked, I would have preferred French fries instead. I wasn't even asked. Waitress/bartender never even came by to ask if everything tasted okay; if she had, I would have asked for fries. I got a box for the other half of sandwich for my dog....since it took a while for her to come back around and we left. Also, we saw a couple of waitresses rolling silverware. One of them dropped many on the floor, picked them back up and placed them with the other rolled silverware......gross! read more

What a special gem! They now a full bar, delicious pub food, corn hole, shuffleboard and live music. Oh and a coffee shop with pastries. There's plants in the nursery chickens and a playground for the kids. 11 tvs BTW... . come have fun!!! read more

***Buyer Beware*** We hired Matt with Texas Ponds & Water Features of Community Gardens to build our water feature. Absolute nightmare experience. The worst! We have been waiting on feature removal and a refund for over a year now. We have this in writing but he has since vanished. He will not reply to text of emails. The feature does not work & was not what we wanted. Matt agreed they built what "he would want" instead of "what we wanted"...and was supposed to remove the feature. It is basically a really ugly rock pile around a plastic tub...for 20k. The pump and lights both went out within weeks on install. The black tub liner sticks really high above the soil...leaving absolutely nothing natural about it. The water flow (when it flowed) was obnoxiously fast & loud...unsafe for wildlife & you had to yell to talk over it. This guy charges 20k for some rocks and a black tub liner...just a hideous eyesore in our backyard. I wouldn't trust anyone affiliated with community gardens after this experience and we have since stopped shopping there. read more

Husband and I went out for our anniversary. Steaks that we had were excellent! The live music was great, and the comment with the audience were so funny! We had a great time. Very beautiful place. The only thing I would say is the service wasn't up to par. However with everyone else possibly due to covid. read more

What a cool place. Stopped in a for a coffee (which was fantastic) and walked around to see a bunch of local vendors selling both cool products and services. Very different setup from anywhere else I've visited. We just missed steak night which seemed like a very cool event. We will be back to pick some lettuce in their greenhouse. I'm looking forward to seeing them grow with more vendors and events. Recommend dropping by if you're anywhere near Bastrop or Austin. read more

When this place first opened, it had the potential to be a great spot. The owner was extremely cordial... Each of the last three times I have visited, there have been two ladies at the front desk. Not one time did either one look up from the computer.. not even bothering to greet me... I walked around with no one speaking to me about anything. Yes, unfortunately, the LAST THREE VISITS.
