Finally tried the pesto potato sandwich that everyone raves about here... It was just as wonderful as I expected it to be, however, I made the mistake of being too excited about putting it in my mouth... And I burned the heck out of the roof of my mouth on a molten potato... First world problems, lol It was worth it, I'll be getting this again ...

Stay Away! This used to be my go-to deli for good Reubens. Not anymore! I went to their website to review the menu before I arrived so I wouldn't hold up the order line. I decided to get two different half sandwiches for $8,50 each. After paying I sat down with my friends and looked at the receipt. They had charged me $14 per half sandwich. I went back to the register and explained their mistake and was told they had recently raised their prices. I asked to speak to the manager but Blair was not there to hear my complaint. To make matters worse, they no longer shave the pastrami and corned beef. They now use two thick slices of lunch meat on each sandwich! And the bread was very dry! Stay Away!

In the Austin area it can be impossible to find a true Jewish deli around here, or even deli-esc place, but this is one of the closest I've come across so far. The flavors are really nailed here above everything else. I've never been disappointed by their sandwiches and they're a fairly hearty portion size. I always have a nice chunk left over to take for another meal. My go-to order here is the Reuben, the Pastrami, or the Far West Club. The bagels here are pretty good as well. I enjoy sitting outside versus the small selection of cramped seating inside, they have about 5-7 tables in front of the business, under the shaded rooftop area of the strip mall. Parking is give or take depending on when you are visiting as it is shared with other businesses on the strip. It is very busy, and louder with people coming and going and lots of to-go orders. Counter service is fast, but due to the intense busy atmosphere employees frequently seemed stressed or annoyed while helping with your order or questions. Not in a rude way necessarily, but wouldn't say I've experienced it friendly here in the weekday mid afternoons I've visited.

Well the reviews were solid but my experience was so so. I ordered a cold sandwich, the turkey and Swiss. It had everything I hoped for and more. However, it was messy! The turkey cuts were massive and I couldn't bite into it because of how big it was. My sandwich eventually fell apart because the bread didn't keep it together. The flavor wasn't anything to remember - it was your neighborhood deli. Service was good and it wasn't that packed. I would probably pass on this for another sandwich spot.

Twas a great breakfast bagel. Bagel was fluffy, but the eggs were slightly under seasoned. Lovely staff-- well-deserving of their tip! It is filling and great post-workout meal. Cheers!

Dry potato salad with zero flavor

This was disappointing to say the least. Maybe we visited on an off day, maybe we ordered the wrong things, or maybe my expectations were set too high by the hundreds of other reviews...but this was edible at best, and short of anything impressive or exceptional. We went on a Saturday during the lunch rush hour. The line to order moved pretty swiftly, and we were still able to snag a table indoors. The service was your standard counter-order service. The food didn't take terribly long, and it was brought out as it was ready, however, the food is the problem. Tasteless, dry, and underwhelming overall. With plenty of delis and good sandwich shops around Austin, I can't see myself ever electing to revisit here. FOOD RATINGS: - Potato salad (0/5): I've never rated food 0/5 but this was the saddest potato salad I've ever had. For starters, it was extremely dry, almost crumbly. Had 0 flavor. Couldn't even finish it. - Reuben sandwich (3/5): Probably the only decent thing we ordered, and yet still mediocre. - Broccoli cheddar soup (3/5): Just okay. Left you wanting something more. - Egg salad sandwich (0/5): Twins with the potato salad, which makes sense since the makeup is basically the same! Dry, flavorless, and the sandwich was just sad. Bread wasn't very good. The lettuce and tomato added color and nothing else.

    Tuna Melt

This place is known for their bagels and big sandwiches. To be honest I've only taken out from here so maybe it would be better if I dined in, but I've never been that impressed. The tuna melt was packed with tuna and it was good but felt like it could have more flavor. The onion bagel didn't have much flavor either and I got it scooped out so there was more room for the filling.

I've gone back and forth on my review to Biderman's. The food is fine in general. The bagels are unfortunately lackluster. I've been told there is an issue between Rosen's and Biderman's so the bagels taste differently now. It's clear they are different which is unfortunate. Their black and white cookies are stellar. Decent enough corned beef/pastrami sandwich. Their matzoh balls saved my Hanukkah party this year as my matzoh balls didn't firm up appropriately enough. The service at Bidermans is below average. It's sad because the last several reviews say the same thing too.

Lox Deluxe Bagel Sandwich. I forgot to ask for extra tomatoes, but it didn't matter. Yum!

Conveniently located, and especially popular for weekend breakfast. The service is cheerful, even at 3:45 PM on a Tuesday (they close at 4:00). The interior of Biderman's reminds me of Schilo's Deli in San Antonio (but much smaller).

The lunch we had was really quite good. The French dip was quite large so we had to take part to our next appointment. I opted for a jalapeño bagel with chive smear and and salmon. Very good. We will be back!

$18 for a below average pastrami sandwich. No drink or chips or anything and it was almost $20 for an average sized sandwich.

***SMOOTHIE ONLY REVIEW***…read more I'll be honest, Yelp: I most sincerely had reservations about The Soup Peddler. Reason: The menu reads sort of average and practical. Why buy stuff I could make at home? When I spend money, I'm paying for a hit of culture and flavor. This economy is crazy. You've gotta choose wisely. I can save money and do average at home. HOWEVER, I was on a mission for a real pineapple and kale smoothie, and Austin has been inconsistent with this. Juice-Land makes mistakes with substitutions (they don't have it on the menu) and Smoothie King is an "all over the place" expensive hot mess caught up in a boycott, so here I found myself. I ordered the Tropicalia (24 oz): mango, banana, pineapple juice, lemon, kale, spirulina. Solid lineup. But I don't like juice substitutions when you can have real fruit, so my *ONE ASK* was to please add real pineapple on top of everything. Add actual pineapple, not just juice. They said yes!!! No extra charge. And that's where everything changed. This tasted CRAFTED. This tasted INTENTIONAL. Winner. WINNER, WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER. This is easily the BEST smoothie I've had in Austin. That I've had ever. Ok, Erewhon in LA has been the best. But this was fresh, bright, and clean. Sweet without tipping into sugar overload. The pineapple flavor popped and was balanced by the earthiness of the kale and spirulina so it felt refined and it didn't feel like a juice bomb. Perfecto. Service was straightforward. Pleasant and efficient, not over the top. It works. But the point is I came in skeptical and I left planning my next visit. I want to try everything. If this smoothie delivered then I have high hopes for the rest of the menu. Forgive my doubts.

Handsome Dans has a sign directing you to the back where they are located. The vibe is true to a bait shop/diner it's casual with a rustic feel, they have a large covered patio adjacent to Stargazer bar. I highly suggest sitting outside if possible because the inside does get a bit claustrophobic and smokey when it's packed and they are smashing paninis on the press with no proper kitchen overhead vents. The type of greasy smoke you get when you are making super buttery sandwiches on a hot press. The sandwiches are ok but not something I would go out of my way to have ,our kids liked the hotdogs and Frito pies which were also kind of "upper class" gas station quality. Most of the stuff here is food that probably tastes way better after drinking several beers. It's like any normal sandwich you could make at home and toss in a panini press to be honest. Really good beers on tap and friendly staff who seemed to disappear to the back quite a bit and came back confused. They didn't know if they had already given me my food because I was ordering and paying for extra food after more people in our party arrived. They literally saw my food I already had on the table from my previous order and thought they gave me double of what I ordered hahaha. I can't make a judgment because I have no clue what they kept dispersing to the back for but can just say the confusion was real, LOL. All together if I had to come back it be because someone I knew wanted to try it. Otherwise for me it's a one and done. I got the pictures I stood next to a sign ,I had the Signiture sandwiches, now I'm moving on. I can say I've been there done that. I'm guessing that a college crowd or just being a single person who just wants to be amongst people that this is the type of lowkey place to go if you're not into the typical Longhorn hangouts. You stop in ,have some beers, eat a low budget ingredient expensive panini sandwich and chill till you have to call yourself a Waymo cause the beer is good and strong.
