$16 Reuben what was almost uneditable. My wife went to this place and told me it was great. We both love small places like this. First the woman with teal hair was warm and kind to my wife, smiled asked if she wanted chips with her order, great customer service. To me she was short and cold a little, didn't ask me anything. Now the sandwich in short horrible constructed, huge chucks of fat with the chunks of meat. The meat was well cooked and tasted great but I had to trim the fat off. Then I realized the sandwich was 35% actual meat and 65% sauerkraut. I also have issue with how the meat was cut because that's not how you cut corned beef for a this sandwich.... I quickly decided on a tuna sandwich ($12) and sat down to wait for my food. The sandwich was ready within 10 minutes and tasty, but not the best sandwich I have ever had. My husband brought me here, and while it is in an older, small shopping center with a not to many businesses the "Other Side" stands out as my sandwich was REALLY DEELISHHH. Came by today because we were in the area and needed a quick bite.. while the restaurant was full we didn't have to wait long to order and our hot sandwiches came out within 5 minutes of ordering. The tables were all taken so we sat at the counter area by the window- the restaurant has about 8-10 tables plus other seating. The staff were very friendly and brought our food to us. I ordered the turkey club without mayo and it was very moist and the turkey was warm on toasted rye bread. Lettuce and tomato were fresh and the bacon was hot and crispy. I was nearby and wanted to get some food but had a bit of a time crunch. The hot subs seemed to be popular on Yelp but there was a small line and I knew I didn't have time for my primary choice so I went for something from their cold sub menu. I got the Italian sub-Ham, Capicola and Salami, a decent line up of meats and I saw that they had mac salad so I got that as well as a bag of chips and I got a black and white cookie just because. The sandwich was ok, the flavors were kind of weak and the bread was thin, breaking apart after a few bites. The mac salad was also under-seasoned and lot of salt and pepper. It was a little after 1 when I got there, and the parking lot they share with the thrift store was full. The inside was as well, but there was no line of customers waiting to order and still a few seats available. It had a classic sub shop interior, with the front door left open to invite in the warm breeze. The worker at the counter was friendly and very helpful. I ended up ordering the deli sandwich she recommended, the Rowdy Roddy, for $14. This, along with the rest of the menu, seemed pricey on my first impression. However, just a few minutes later, I was pleasantly surprised by the sandwich I received. It was served warm, tasted great, and would've left me wanting more if I wasn't so full. The portions are pretty decent, with about 1/3 of a pound of sliced turkey on my sandwich. Everything felt fresh and made with care. Overall, it was a great experience, but I'd be more eager to return if they had some more affordable lunch specials. read more

I feel like the amount of pastrami you get is less than impressive for a $14 sandwich. Both the pastrami and turkey were good but didn't blow me away with flavor. The bread was toasted perfectly and it stayed together pretty well which is always a plus! Food was amazing. Nice thick slices of meat and super super tender for being white meat. The service was excellent, guy at the front immediately greeted me with a smile and sounded excited. I had a small mishap, I opened Jarritos and a piece of glass came off that I didn't see and cut my lip. Not their fault though, just brittle glass. They immediately replaced it. I heard about this deli from a friend and was excited to try it with a lunch friend date! We both live on opposite sides of town so we're always looking to try to find new places to visit that are central. First of all, they have a great website so you can see the menu and get to know them before you visit. They also have ample parking in a parking lot, which is a plus for this part of town. This place is small, but it's the perfect retro atmosphere, with old movie posters and a bit of a nostalgia vibe. It's clean, cool, and the staff is warm and friendly. We easily ordered at the counter and food arrived very quickly. It was quiet enough that we could easily have conversation over lunch at the tables inside. The food was really good! I got a grilled cheese and my friend got The Italian. Both were excellent. Food was very reasonably priced, as well. We will be adding this to the lunch date rotation for sure! read more

Decided to pick up Otherside for lunch so I placed an online order and went to the store to pick up. No complaints there - the process was super easy and my order was sitting at the front where I could just grab it and head out. I ordered a salami and cheddar sub + mayonnaise and the macaroni salad. Overall I thought the food was fine. I wish there was more mayo on my sandwich (or maybe I should've picked up some mayo packets if they had some) because some parts of it just lacked sauce. The mac salad felt refreshing after a heavier sandwich (at least in my opinion, I know there are a lot of heavier sandwiches on the menu). Amazing sandwiches very good and tasty, the prices are modest for what you are getting. All deli meat is fresh and cut in store, got a cheesesteak and it was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time from a restaurant/deli. The atmosphere for this place is very nice and refreshing nothing too crazy but embraces the Old/New Austin mashup. too things off very friendly and fast staff got my sandwich within 10 minutes waiting for it. The inside of the restaurant was clean and there were tables and chairs for seating. There is a counter on one side where you can order. When we went in my husband told the person at the register our order name and they gave us our sandwiches. It was quick and easy. My husband ordered the Pastrami and mustard sandwich and I got the Chicken Cutlet Sub. The Pastrami and mustard sandwich is just that and nothing else. The Chicken Cutlet sandwich had mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, and vinegar. I tried both sandwiches. The Pastrami sandwich was really good. The meat was good quality and the mustard added to the flavor. The chicken cutlet sub was okay. The chicken itself was a good size but the sandwich wasn't as flavorful as the pastrami and the bread was a little soggy due to the fillings. I'd say it's a perfect place to get your stuff to-go, but we ate inside and it just smelled... old. And the parking lot needs some help.
