I wanted to try a new spot to get work done or read in between obligations. Claude AI recommended Halcyon based on my location & parameters. It seemed cozy from the photos. When I walked in it was super busy and I almost felt unwelcome but later found a long table to claim. I had to crawl underneath between the tables to secure my charger in the surge protector. I ordered a mocktail and sweet brunch dish after already eating something savory from Little Brother on SoCo. They also had Drag Brunch ongoing so I couldn't properly focus. I guess AI was not able to find this information I did submit a job application and check lab results but reading a book was not happening. When I left the bathroom was vacant, so I could change into my new Urban Outfitters outfit. The bathroom was clean and plain, not decorative. It's an awkward crawl to the exit but I succeeded!

10/10 rec this place! Went with some girlfriends to brunch with babes drag show. The Queens are slay, drinks are fire, food is tasty. I got chicken and waffle, chicken is flavorful and crispy. Waffle has good texture and lightly sweet but does get soggy pretty quickly.

Service 7/10... my friend ordered the girl dinner and they forgot her salad three times Girl dinner is a joke... $20 for plastic forks, small salad, bland fries, and an okey espresso martini. This review is purely for anyone interested in the girl dinner, it's not worth it. Go to in-n-out or somewhere else and get your money worth.

I'm so glad I stumbled across this place! They make some really good espresso martinis and I love that they have some late night snacks/food you can order. My friend got the chicken quesadilla which was pretty good. Customer service here is great and I'll definitely be back!

What a cute special they have on Thursdays! You simply order at the bar and the service was pretty quick. The bartender was very helpful with drink selections. I had the matcha tini, it was so refreshing and tasty! I'd definitely would get it again.

Inclusive coffee shop that offers more than delicious drinks (and they are yummy). It's a safe space-for all. It's a welcoming space-for all. It's a business that makes you feel like family. No matter what.

First time checking out their Thursday girl dinner special with a few girlfriends. It runs every Thursday from 5-7 and you get a Cesar Salad, French Fries and either an espresso or dirty martini. We arrived right at 5 pm and the line was already like 10 people deep. We decided to get in line before it grew and WOW I'm so happy we did! The line got insane and wrapped around the restaurant. Mind you this was also a holiday weekend. The next day was Juneteenth and most had off the next day. I highly recommend arriving early, grabbing a table and get in line. Also order two drinks at a time. You can still order from the bar for drinks, but just in case. The staff was super friendly and quick. At first it didn't seem like Alot of food to me, but it ended up being the perfect amount and I left full. Definitely check it out with a few of your girlies!

Halcyon has lots to offer, they have a full bar, lots of coffee and teas, baked goods and more. There's covered seating outside, lots of seating inside from couches to tables. Our service was good. I had a turmeric ginger iced tea. It was served within minutes of ordering. They have martinis to choose from, I believe you may have to order a food item also in order to receive it on the weekend before 12pm although. Overall chill vibes, a nice place to stop for coffee or anything else you might be in the mood for.

Chase is amazing!! Get the girl dinner! It's amazing & he's the best! I've only been here for coffee but it's my new favorite cocktail bar.

This was a place we had not tried, we had tickets to Whose Line is it Anyway? later that night at Paramount but were taking it easy and slow just enjoying the day. We choose this place as it has coffee and booze, as I have stated many times coffee shops are not in my comfort zone but as this place is also a bar I felt more at home then usual. Since it was the first time lets go over Pluses and Minuses. We took an Uber so didn't pay attention to parking. PLUSES: Pretty large area with different types of seating from tables and chairs to corner nooks and big comfy chairs like a seating room. You had options and lots of workspace with outlets. Super chill and relaxed atmosphere, you don't feel that rush or anxiety you get from some coffee shops when you order. This has a downside that I will get to in Minus. The drinks and coffee were very good. They had some unique drinks and we just chilled and enjoyed the relaxed mood. I don't remember if they had food but we didn't get anything. The staff was friendly and pretty fast, it wasn't busy at all, just a few people so not sure how it is if it gets busy. MINUS: This ties into the 2nd plus. The people ordering before us either knew the employee or were just friendly which is great and I am not knocking the laid back vibe but knowing there are people waiting when there wasn't before maybe move over, talk the employee more once we ordered. Just felt like we didn't matter. I didn't use the restroom but Shana did and she was very grossed out. Said it SUPER gross and the wooden planks felt spongy, she even felt they could give out and she would break through to whatever was below!! Still it was a chill place I wouldn't mind going back to and that is something for a mostly coffee shop.

The service and coffee/tea is always great! Cannot say the same for the ambiance or food compared to the original San Antonio location I was a regular at. It's such a shame as I've returned several times, but I choose to get the coffee to go. I was turned away several times with my service animal and felt unwelcome.

Always love me some Halcyon. A party vibe at this location. It's been there a long time so it holds a lot of memories for me & my friends. They have food, coffee AND alcohol, so win win...win. A little something for everyone! Staff have the bartender vibe. Meh.

amazing experience, great food couldn't ask for a better brunch. Service was top notch as well

We were treated nicely, but we definitely could have gotten in right away. By the time we walked in, the place was probably at 60% capacity. It was standing room only at the bar, but not overcrowded by any means. There is a dress code, but it's not entirely clear what it is. Some guy dressed to the 9s got turned away for not having sleeves whereas I got in with sneakers and a t-shirt. They ask for your cellphones upon entering and give you a key in exchange, but there doesn't seem to be any security to enforce it if you don't want to give them up. I have no problem with their policy, but I bet a lot of customers do. Interestingly, their little social experiment seemed to have a positive effect, where we ended up talking to strangers and vice versa. The Powder Room may be making America social again.

When we arrived, we were asked for a credit card, which was confusing since the experience was already paid for. My husband asked our server what the prepaid experience included and was told it came with "2 pairings," so we reasonably assumed that meant two drinks each. At the end of the night, we were presented with an additional $80 bill. When we questioned this, the manager explained that the prepaid "pairings" were actually just small pieces of truffle chocolate meant to accompany drinks, and that the prepaid price was for the chocolate and "access" to the Valentine's Day menu -- not the drinks themselves. None of this was clearly explained upfront, and the wording of "2 pairings" is misleading. Had we understood that the $60 per person covered only chocolate and menu access, we would have made a different decision. What was meant to be a special Valentine's surprise ended up feeling confusing and disappointing due to poor communication. Clearer explanations and transparency would go a long way.

My friend and I sat next to a faux fireplace, where we were greeted by the only bartender working and placed our order. Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it.
