Been here a few times and it's pretty good. I've tried a few things on the menu and finally settled on what I like. My favorite is the Fairfax. I was initially reluctant to get it because places like McDonald's and Burger King have conditioned me to think egg is part of a breakfast sandwich, but you need bacon or sausage to make it complete. The Fairfax doesn't have either of those, but what it does have are the fluffiest eggs I've ever had on a breakfast sandwich. The caramelized onions are subtle and the sriracha even more so. I didn't even realize it was there at first. And while I usually like to pile on ingredients I like, I think the Fairfax follows a sort of "less is more" approach that works well. Sausage, bacon, extra onions or more sriracha would ruin it. In fact, I'm thinking of asking them to hold the cheese next time just to see how that goes. That's probably my only complaint about the Fairfax, that it's a little on the salty side, so maybe the cheese? The sausage, egg, & cheese sandwich is good. But it basically tastes like a higher quality McDonald's offering of the same. The quality is better, but it's not doing anything different than McDonald's except better ingredients. The egg salad sandwich was a little disappointing. I could tell it was decent for what it was supposed to be, but in the end, it just didn't appeal to me. I'm not a huge fan of egg salad, and I was just hoping maybe Eggslut's version would win me over, so that one's kinda on me. The truffle hashbrowns are okay. Again the comparison to McDonald's because they not only taste similar, they look similar. If there were tiers of fast food hashbrowns, these would be one step above Mcdonald's. Which is okay, but nothing to write home about. Last, the slut. I love eggs. That's why I was drawn to this place, and why I'm writing such a long review. And I gotta say: I didn't like it. I was hoping to have found yet another variation of eggs that I would like, and I just didn't end up enjoying it at all. That was disappointing. But they don't need to worry since I will keep coming back for the Fairfax. I would give it four or four and a half stars, but I will round up to help keep places like these going. Note: I would avoid the Philz and the Joe & the Juice next door. I would totally prefer having more small businesses and mom and pop places than say Starbucks or Jamba Juice, but these places kinda make me realize why Sbux and Jamba are big: they make a better product. If you've been to SoCal, you've probably heard of Eggslut before. In my opinion though, it's not quite worth visiting. The interior is clean and modern, and the service is nice and prompt. So yeah, everyone's been to Eggslut, right? It's good, but expensive for what you're getting. That's the bottom line for me. Two Fairfax specials with sausage and two hash browns came out to like 30-plus bucks. Geez. Sausage also had this weird texture, almost like the precooked Jimmy Dean ones you get in the frozen section. Velvety, runny style eggs were on point, though, as always. For the hash browns, you get complimentary ketchup or their spicy mayo. The latter works really well, but unfortunately they give you these really tiny containers that you can't fully dip into because the tots hash is much bigger. Location is in middle of the consumer section of Glendale, with limited parking spots in the back. Easy to get in and out, if it's not too busy obviously. We come to Glendale once a year, and I remember hearing that there was an Eggslut here, but never been. When we searched Google maps, and it was only 2 blocks from our location, we walked over. WHEN: New Year's Eve @2pm PARKING: There are some spots behind the restaurant but I parked in the street where there is free street parking. I had no idea this place closes at 2pm when I came in at 1:50pm. They had a sand board sign outside that reads OPEN, but they were still happy to take my order. Meanwhile, the only woman who was working there (I didn't catch her name) kept prioritizing people who were walking up to her for pick-ups, even though I'd been waiting much longer. After watching more than 10 people get their food before me, I finally asked the male cashier how much longer my order would take. He was super polite, apologized right away, and even offered to give me something while they sorted it out. But before he could follow through, the woman interrupted him, completely cut off his offer, and told me, "It's coming." This wasn't done in a kind or understanding way or even a matter of fact manner, she was dismissive, very annoyed and for me, this reactive response was very confusing and didn't make sense. I almost wanted to ask her if she was okay because the way she had cut him off and was reactively talking to me didn't make sense. I let it go. Then, to my shock, she served three more orders for people who ordered after me. Another 10 minutes goes by... At this point, my parking meter was about to run out, so I politely asked if they could prioritize my order. She immediately snapped at me, claiming I was "snapping my fingers at her"--which I absolutely did not do. I tried explaining that I'd been waiting for almost an hour, but instead of resolving the issue, things escalated. The cook, an older man, jumped in and treated me like I was the one in the wrong. He even said they'd call security to escort me out! All I did was calmly explain my frustration after being ignored for so long. Eventually, the woman offered me a refund, but the cook bizarrely asked me to leave the area while it was processed. I honestly don't understand how this all got so out of hand. They clearly made a mistake, but instead of owning up to it, I got treated like I was causing a scene when all I did was ask for my order. This was one of the most disrespectful and frustrating experiences I've ever had. If you're in a rush or just want to be treated with basic courtesy, don't go here. The lack of professionalism and accountability was shocking. To the management: 1. The woman working that day needs to be held accountable. Her dismissive attitude and inability to take responsibility for her mistakes were unacceptable. She needs to be fired. You cannot for the love of god, have someone so reactive at the front lines of a stressful job. You just can't. She snapped.... I get that it is hard, but customer service doesn't mean you snap at the customer before they even can get their sentence out. This isn't your private home or people you know that you can just treat so poorly. We are strangers paying for service and food. -I felt like I was her kid or family members she was verbally abusing She was snapping. Wow 2. The cook also needs serious training on how to handle customer complaints. His behavior escalated the situation unnecessarily. 3. On a positive note, the male cashier was polite and professional throughout this ordeal. He understood what customer service should look like. This happened on 12/15/24 at 11:30 AM. Tried this place for the first time last weekend. It's a cute cozy breakfast spot. I got the slut, which was a coddled egg with potato puree and served with toasted baguette slices which was pretty good. To those of you that live in the greater Los Angeles area, "Eggslut" is well-known to many of the locals. It has been one of the top fast food breakfast places in Southern California as well as internationally in countries such as South Korea, Singapore, Japan, United Kingdom, and Kuwait. This happens to be the 2nd time I have been to one of their locations (with the first being at the Beverly Center back in October 2018). The location I am reviewing is adjacent to the Glendale Galleria shopping center in Glendale, CA. Located directly on the corner of S. Brand Blvd. & E. Colorado St. in the heart of Glendale, this particular Eggslut has been in operation since 2017. Keep in mind that they do have limited hours being open from 8am-2pm but they are open 7 days a week for your convenience. Parking in this area can be a bit challenging as this is a very busy retail area with an abundance of restaurants nearby. Fortunately, I found paid parking only 1/2 block away as I arrived around 9:45am during the morning of Thursday 4/21/2022. As I made my way inside, it actually wasn't too busy. However, a few minutes later, several large groups of people showed up so I guess you can say it was my lucky day. Their main food choices are breakfast sandwiches (all of which are filled with their cage free eggs) that come with a variety of fillings (bacon, steak, sausage, cheeses, veggies, & sauces) and a few sides such as hash browns & salads. I ended up ordering the "Bacon, Egg, & Cheese" sandwich which included hardwood smoked bacon, cage-free over medium eggs, cheddar cheese and chipotle ketchup in a warm brioche bun. I also added a side of hash browns. Within a few short minutes, my sandwich and sides were ready! And one really cool thing is that they gave my +1 and I complimentary freshly squeezed orange juices! This was really awesome as the juice really accompanied our breakfast meals. One minor drawback of the sandwiches at Eggslut; they are definitely more on the salty side. Not a big deal but it is definitely something I wouldn't recommend eating on a daily basis. Otherwise, other than being a little bit on the messy side, the breakfast here is tasty and delicious. Overall, I will continue to support this small business as the staff at this location was professional and courteous during my most recent experience.
