I made the drive up to Riverview to try out Eggs Up Grill. I got the Caramel coffee and it was delicious. I would go back for that alone. Our server was awesome, I remembered his name to give him a shoutout! Our food took a while to arrive and when it did, my shrimp and grits were cold. I hate sending food back, but couldn't eat it cold. My server was great and brought it back back they could microwave it. It came back hot and delicious. The grits were a but looser than I am use to, but had good favor. The portion was large and I only ate about half. I was bummed that we were not going home after because I really wanted to take the leftovers home with me. Eggs Up Grill has a modern feel and look inside, if you couldn't tell by the exterior sign. Very inviting. I was seated immediately, and my server was very kind and quick. I believe the owner or manager at least came to my table as I received my food and asked how I was doing, but I hadn't eaten anything yet. Still nice. Everything was clean and tidy, I did not visit the restroom. I was there on a Tuesday morning, about 10am. It was quiet. My husband said he went on a Sunday afternoon and it was BUSY. I ordered the Founders Hash & Eggs (eggs over easy, they were perfect) with grits and rye bread. I just got a water for a drink so my total was $11.81. Delicious! The hash came out in a log form which I wasn't expecting, but it left a wonderful crispiness to it. Everything was cooked perfectly, and I will definitely be back to check out brunch. I'm probably being generous with this rating, but so be it. Was on the way out of town and stopped here for breakfast, though I hadn't looked at the reviews super closely, the menu looked good. Arrived at around 10:30am on Sunday and was told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. At around 11:20 we were seated (for those of you who may be math challenged, that's not 15-20 minutes). During that time, sitting at the front waiting for the table that may never come, I saw some of the most disorganized front of house activity I've ever seen. There were piles of people waiting for to go orders, and the people working the front seemed clueless and pretty disorganized. But anyway, we were seated and Amaya (I hope I got her name right) was fantastic, she was constantly checking in, letting us know where we were in the ticket lineup after ordering, refilling coffee, just stellar service. Food was good, not super amazing but we had ordered fairly basic meals to try and keep the turnaround quick so we could get back on the road. Would I come back? Probably not, unless I walked in and was seated right away. I'll try the location closer to me just to see how it compares, but I would really ask the managers of this location take some time to do a little more training on how to handle those busy times because it really didn't come off like the team was prepared and it's a shame because the serving staff and food are reasons to return. read more

This one hurts my heart a little. I was so pumped to support one of my own (black-owned), especially from recommendations. I'll start with the positives: the place is clean, open and welcoming. The roasted tomato and spinach grits are good and the staff friendly. The not so positive was the flavorless shrimp omelet, which was very disappointing since it was the main course. A few suggestions - don't use frozen, chopped onions. They hold a lot of water, which takes away from any flavor you add. Also, the baby shrimp should be avoided. The General Manager is a gem. We stopped by a different breakfast spot that was way too crowded for us so we decided not to stay for the hour long wait and thought about this place instead. We were greeted immediately by a friendly waitress and placed our order. The establishment is clean and organized. The staff seems to work well with each other which def matter. A decent breakfast spot, but not quite good enough for the price. The food was on the salty side. The portion of the meal was good for the price of around $11 for a egg breakfast (the going rate nowadays) with lots of sides. The bacon was was good and sausage patty was okay. Sourdough bread was also good, maybe the best thing. The main issue I had was with the dark roast drip coffee. For $2.99 it was pretty bad. I actually like diner coffee and this one was bad all around. I barely finished my cup and I love coffee. A breakfast place with bad coffee is a big no-no. I suggest taking a trip over to Maple Street Biscuit Company for a lesson on good breakfast coffee. The home fries were also just okay. I love potatoes but they were kinda mushy. Found this cute little brunch spot while visiting Tampa. The resturant has plenty of parking and can accommodate larger parties. Interior is decorated very chick-ish. I love it! The menu here is breakfast and lunch. Served all day til 2:30pm. Mimosas are also available. $6 a glass or $22 a pitcher. My choice of the day: Little Waffle in the Hen House -features half a waffle, eggs and choice of bacon or sausage. The food came out quick and it was tasty. This is a new Breakfast/Brunch location right down the street from my home. We decided to check them out yesterday for Small Business Saturday! It's a quaint new place in centralized location right here in Riverview! When we got here at 9am the wait was only 10 minutes which I was surprised about since this is a new shop. The waitress was Fabulous, she made the day, now the food did take awhile to come out but then again they have only been open for about 2 weeks so that is reasonable. We all had different things. Our first visit for lunch. We were very impressed with how very clean it was. Our waitress was friendly, efficient and quick. I am sorry, I am not sure but I think her name was Maria. Not only was the staff extremely friendly but the food was absolutely amazing. We're already making plans for our next trip and what we're going to try. they have an app on the table that you can scan for their menu so you don't need to touch menus. When they bring you your bill there's a barcode on the bottom you can scan and pay with your phone again not having to deal with any other people in this in the store. The food is standard breakfast fare - no complaints there. The staff is nice. But I've been here twice now and my friends have been many times since they live in a nearby neighborhood and we all share the same experience - extreme wait times. Prepare for this to be a 3 hour long experience on the weekend. The wait times are double what they quote you when they put your name on the waitlist. If they say 20 minutes, it will be 45. They don't take reservations or allow you to list yourself ahead of time. If the kitchen is backed up, which it often is, they will slow their output and seating of people. The food will also take a very long time to come out when they do this. Meanwhile there are empty tables in the restaurant. Clearly they are ill-prepared to meet the demands of their restaurant at capacity and don't value their customers time. By the time our table was ready this recent time my friends couldn't stay and wait for the time it would likely take for food so I canceled our table and ate at the bar by myself. As a response to the message I received, I have worked in hospitality for the last 10 years. Which is why I feel this is not right. It is obvious that this happens every single weekend so there's really no good reason to be dishonest with your customers about wait times if slowing down the kitchen is routine practice. read more

POOR QUALITY. I stopped by here for breakfast on 02/19/2022. I only did so because the YELP reviews seemed decent enough, and how hard can it be to serve eggs, bacon, toast and coffee? Simple, right?! Walking into the restaurant, there was no wait. My wife and I sat immediately. Ordered two coffees and were instantly disappointed. The coffee was very watery, no flavor. The waitress was kind enough to offer a "dark roast", so I bit. The dark roast arrived and was ALSO WATERY. The food arrived. Not a long wait. The eggs were browned and hard, so they were definitely left on the griddle too long. The sausage would have been good, but man was it BURNT. The home potatoes were decent and probably the only thing good on the plate. The bacon was not bacon it was JERKY. It seemed like the cooked attempted to crisp the bacon, but burnt it instead. Not crispy burnt, but just before crispy and more like hard jerky sticks. The sourdough toast had edges that felt like it was stale and then toasted. There was about three ounces of butter sandwiched between the toast, so the center was soggy. I'm not sure why there are four stars on the restaurant. It was an utter disappointment.
