We were looking so forward to grabbing breakfast here. I looked up reviews, etc. and then through CL Deals I bought a coupon. I always think it's the best way to try anything the first time. Well, this is our second time there: first and last. The servers were very nice and hospitable, but, the food down to the coffee, ugh! Yes, it was more of a brunch time, but, cool, weak coffee, very cool over easy to medium eggs and the 2 pancakes, that I asked to be done well were not only cool, but so thick and cakey I could only rat a few bites. We asked for "crispy" bacon. NOT! How hard could this have been? Bacon, eggs and pancaked. And they weren't that busy. I really don't like writing a bad review, but they deserve it. Decided to finally try this restaurant out since it's black owned but I was highly disappointed!! Walking in the lady where you check in at was very rude and didn't acknowledge me not once then someone from the back came to seat me. My waiter came and checked on me maybe 20 minutes later and when she came back it was like she was having a horrible day and had a horrible attitude as well as body gestures like she just didn't want to serve us. Checking out we asked for a separate bill and our waiter wasn't anywhere around so I went to the lady in the check in area and she says you have to do it online but when we tried to do it online it too our money and then it kicked it back so we explained to her and she says "well you need to find the waiter" my aunt asked her what should the older folks do if they don't have a phone and the lady didn't have a response. Went here with my wife and was surprised by how cute it was and was glad it was open given the COVID-19 pandemic. First noticed someone not wearing their mask when we first walked in which was a little off-putting however she placed her mask as we entered. The food was okay but could have been hotter given how few people were in the restaurant. Prices seemed reasonable compared to competitors just wish the quality of food matched. I would not recommend going if you have high expectations. The inside of my cup was dirty (looked like crisco) my boyfriends cup was dirty on the outside. 4th time there...same experience. No more experimentation. Time to move on. Sunday Morning around 11:00. Told us that the wait would be for 40 minutes.....so we waited. Seated about 45 minutes later. Placed order shortly afterward and proceeded to wait over an hour. Order wasn't difficult.....omlete and pancakes, with American fries and some bacon. No explanation about what took so long. And the food was not good. It was warm but it looked horrible. Bad presentation. My opinion is that there is something seriously wrong in that kitchen. The orders were sent back and that's where they ended up. If you have over 2 hours to waste for a poorly cooked meal, go ahead and give it a try. Like i said, this was my 4th visit. I wanted to support the new business, but i can't do this again. Somebody needs to be held accountable for their extremely poor customer service. I saw this when I was going to Wendy's next door so I gave it a try. I was seated fast, but it went downhill from there. I asked for sweet tea no ice but it was served with ice. They did correct the error, but he literally walked from my table to get my drink. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, sausage links, and two eggs over easy. The biscuits and gravy was overly salty, the sausage links were very greasy and burnt on one side, and the eggs came out completely raw in the middle. Not runny white but clear and raw. I went here with my friends. We put our name on this list but because it was so long of a wait we went next door to the coffee shop and got coffee while we wait for the text message to come through telling us we could sit down. When it did come through we went back into eggs up where the lobby was still full of people. My friend walked to the front to tell them we was there. It was a lady there so she stood behind her. Once the lady at the desk was done my friend walked up to the counter. The worker walked away. I'm guessing to go do something for the guest that was in front of us. When she came back she went to sit a group of people that had put there name on the list after us I remember them because they walked in right behind us when we put our name on the list. When she comes back she greets my friend. My friend tells her that we got a text that our table was ready. She said give them about 5 mins to find us a table that's available. My friend says well you guys just sat a family of 4 that came in after us and it's only 3 of us. The lady looks at the list and apologized to my friend because she was right. So we waited about 10 mins for a table to come available. We sit down. No waiter, no water, no menus for about another 10 mins. When the waiter comes she ask what would we like to drink. We have no menus to tell her. She brings the menu. We wait about another 10 mins for her to come back to take our orders. So we order everything when she does come back. It's now 11:34am. I tell you no lie we didn't get our food until 12:30pm and then it was cold. The family of 4 that got sat before us ate their food and left before we even got our food. When the food came and it was cold we immediately asked for a manager. The manager John came over which I found out he is actual one of the owners. We tell him our concerns. The way handle us is the real reason I did the review because I can understand the kitchen may be backed up on orders or they don't have a food runner they maybe short staff I can understand all of that if he would of said any of those things but instead this man asked us what do we want him to do about it?? Like huh what do you mean??? Our food is cold which means it's been ready it just was sitting in the window. It took an hour for our food to come. We haven't even gotten a refill of drinks. The people that came in after us was sitting before us and ate and left and we still sitting here and not by choice of having an enjoyable time. It's a lot you can do. First you can apologize then you can order some type of solution. I was so angry at the way the situation was being handled that I told him I have a solution. I grabbed my purse and started shifting out the booth and my friends already knew what to do. We walked our pretty ass right on to our car to go someone else. By far the best Gluten-free pancakes in Tampa Bay!!!! I let my inner child enjoy the entire GF moment and had the chocolate chip gluten free pancakes . (They have plain, banana or blueberry gf pancakes as well). They weren't grainy/sandy or nutty/earthly (there's gluten free pancakes that taste exactly like that) The gf flour recipe must be down to a science at this spot ! The pancakes tasted like the real deal...I was beyond thrilled! I will definitely be back as they had other gf options on the menu for breakfast. Lisa was our waitress and she was wonderful! Only giving two stars because the food was okay but the service was so disappointing. Been here a few Sundays for breakfast and always had a good experience Unfortunately today, our waitress didn't seem interested in our business at all. Took 15 minutes to place order and that was the only interaction we had with her. A different waitress delivered our food and I had to go up to counter to ask for to go boxes and check. Food took a long time and four tables were empty for at least 20 minutes without being cleared (still not clear when we left) and several parties waiting outside. I love supporting small businesses but not sure I'll return. Hope they get this straightened out. read more

I recommend Lisa as your server. you won't regret it, great personality. I also love the open kitchen. Needed to drop off my car for service so we decided to stop in at Eggs Up Grill. We've been there before so we knew the food was good. They are certainly hurting for staff. There were plenty of seats open but for 2 there was a 45 minute wait. The staff told us that they didn't want to overwhelm the cooking staff. When we finally got seated we already knew what we wanted so ordered right away. It took 40 minutes for the food to arrive and it was cold. The server did not stop by for coffee refills we had to ask. My husband didn't get the OJ he ordered or the bacon but we didn't ask about it since there would have been more delay. At least those 2 items were not on the bill. We were at a table where I was facing the door to the kitchen . . it is stainless steel and was full of finger prints, yuck. Hopefully if things ever get back to normal and they have the staff they need things will run a but smoother. Didn't expect to spend so much time waiting for breakfast. First off, I am in Riverview Fl not CA...not sure why it shows like that. So this place has been open for a few months now and my office is right behind them so a bunch of us have eaten here many times now. The customer service is GOLD. Always friendly and always smiling. Good energy with the staff. The place is always full and some weekend mornings you may have to wait 25 minutes to be seated. But it is worth it! The food is delicious and fresh. Unlike other restaurants during Covid , this one is not lazy and doesn't mess up my orders. So far every order has been spot on. My only criticism (and my whole office agrees with this) is the potatoes. It isn't that they are bad, just bland and soft and unappealing. I am sure there are people that like them like that. For a place with such great reviews, we are very disappointed. The service was terrible. The waitress checked on us once the entire breakfast. Now let's go to the food. Very bland. Eggs Benedict were over cooked with no runny yolk. The grits had no flavor. No salt or butter added. The home fries were bland as well. Manager was not engaged, expeditor was lost and not communicating with kitchen, kitchen was just making orders and placing in the window. Food was being delivered to tables piecemeal. I have never been so disappointed with an establishment in my life. Took TWO hours to get our food which was given away to a random person for FREE. We called three times and were even called two times by someone from the restaurant just for us to have to go up there get our food and every single thing was incorrect. There was TWO scrawny pieces of bacon on our BLT's and the tomatoes were pitiful as well. Our sides we're wrong things were missing from every single order. We work in the industry and tried to be reasonable cause we thought they might be busy just for us to show up and there be 7 people in the whole place. We are disappointed and still starving .
