My wife and I tried this place for breakfast on a Mother's Day...arguably a tough day for most places with regard to service. Nevertheless, we came in around 9:30 AM and were placed on about a 10 minute wait. We were seated and immediately noticed the table we were led to had not been cleaned! It still had an empty cup and crumbs on the table. It took a little while to flag someone down to have us moved to a clean table. We placed our order and it took a while before we were even served our coffee and water. Apparently, they were making a fresh batch of coffee. My wife ordered the Founder's Hash and Eggs and I had The Classic. My wife liked the hash, crispy outside and tender inside with good flavor. My breakfast was fine, nothing spectacular. All in all, while we found the food quality decent enough, we came away unimpressed with service quality. We might try this place again outside of a busy day. A local Ocala breakfast spot with a big menu. To be honest the food was average. Not terrible, not great. Truthfully in my travels I would try other breakfast spots before returning here. They do have a huge variety of menu options, so maybe I should've tried something other than a "make your own omelette". The service was friendly and attentive, so no issues there. :) The ambience was pretty much like your average restaurant breakfast place and they do offer free Wi-Fi. Wifey ordered the Carne Asada burrito while I went for the Southern Bowl. The southern bowl is very grits heavy. However, our server informed me of this before I ordered, so it was exactly what I wanted/expected. Food delivery was the right amount of time (not so fast that it had to be pre-made and not too long). Food was average. The over medium eggs were what they were. The home fries and grits were just ok. The sausage was just ok. I thought the coffee was ok, but wifey said the coffee was really good. She actually drank it and had refills. I, being the Lord of the Dark Roast, would have liked it to pack more of a punch from the dark side. Wifey thought the potatoes were ok, but a little overcooked. The burrito was quite big so she had to take half home (for me) :) And it was pretty tasty! Overall, what we needed. Decent. Adequate. The service was good, funny, and almost great. We have come to this restaurant several times. This was not up to their standards. Service: We weren't greeted with a smile when we walked in. My husband asked for butter and never got it. How do you eat toast and half waffle (waffle photo is missing) without butter? He managed because it never came. You can see in the photo the avocado was bad. Friday morning I was so excited to order their gluten free pancakes, having an allergy I don't see them frequently at restaurants. I took a bite and was instantly grossed out by the taste. I was confused so had my brother taste it thinking I was over reacting. I asked if they were regular flavored because they were sour tasting. The server tells me "sometimes the batter expires before the day dot date sticker." She asks if I want to see if they have more batter, I decline after being grossed out. She offered GF toast, I accept so I'm not hungry while everyone else eats. It was hardly toasted but good for GF bread. Everyone else at the table liked their food. My husband and I spontaneously went on a breakfast date here one morning and I'm so glad we did! The smell as soon as you walk in is enough to get your mouth watering and the decor is fresh and very aesthetically pleasing. Our waitress was very attentive and service was super quick. I ordered the brunch burger (SOOOO GOOD). The brioche bun had a hint of maple syrup on it which was the perfect contrast to the savory steak and runny egg. The carmelized onions and crispy bacon were also the perfect crunchy touch! I have to give this place three stars because of the server was less than personable appeared to be in a hurry as well as the restaurant it was understaffed when I attempted to change my order within 10 seconds of giving it to the server he said it was too late he had already put it in the computer. That the hash dish was very good with the exception of the hash being a little well done the turkey sausage was very well done on the egg and turkey dish. I always hesitate to give a bad review or a margin review because I know these are difficult times but attitude is one thing that can be adjusted I understand the difficulty with hiring staff. I had a feeling that delivery via Grub Hub did this place no justice... and I was right! (Mostly) There were things I wanted to try but didn't want to order delivery due to sometimes it's just not as good. Also there have been several mess ups via delivery. So my hopes of this being great we're up there when we remove the delivery aspect. I had the crab cakes stacked on toasted garlic bread with poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce, and a dash of Old Bay seasoning. They were good. Only thing was the crab cakes were tiny and cold. The also lacked the correct texture of a crab cake. I grew up in Maryland where crab cakes are pretty much everything. They had no form, it was just a small ball of crab mush.... Had they been seared and more of a cake or croquette texture they would have been perfect. I was not able to get this fixed... which I will explain. But they were good! My son had a four-egg omelet loaded with bacon, andouille sausage, mushrooms, home fries, pepper jack cheese, pickled jalapenos and green chiles. Topped with sausage gravy and hatch chiles. Lemme tells you that omelette had a kick! Even for him who practically drinks hot sauce. His omelette was warm not hot.. but being a 15 year old boy he didn't care. I didn't care for was our waiter Darwin. He was not attentive at all, didn't check in, refill drinks, we had to ask for utensils, which he told us we needed to ask the hostess cause that was her job. Was very quick to rush us out. He would keep blowing us off, and spent more time ignoring us than he did any other table he had. (Which wasn't more than maybe 1 cause the place was pretty empty) For that alone thou my son said this is his new fave place we likely won't return. We took Suntran to get there. My wife wanted to shop at dillards and we found this cozy little place right across the street. We were greeted with a friendly smile and quickly seated. The waitress took our drink order while we looked over the menu. I had a hard time deciding what i wanted to eat as everything sounded delicious. I then made the mistake off looking over my shoulder and seeing plates put up that all looked absolutely delicious. So what does one do with so many great options? We each order different dishes and have a variety to sample. My wife ordered threw BLT with grilled potatoes and i ordered the triple deuce, consisting of 2 pancakes 2 eggs and 2 bacon. All the food was amazing in presentation and delicious to the taste buds. I wish we lived closer so we could eat here regularly. Because of COVID-19 now that we can go to restaurants again...we prefer to eat outdoors. Eggs Up Grill had tables outside that were appropriately spaced apart. Tiffany, our server, was friendly, informative and polite. She gave very good service. Tiffany gave me a free, grilled blueberry muffin for Mother's Day (A sweet treat for all Moms today) Tom had Eggs Benedict that were tasty but the eggs were a little over-done for Benedict. I went in for breakfast this morning. We enjoy their food. Reason for the 1 star is due to how we were treated. The woman told us it would be about a 10 minute wait so the kitchen could get caught up, we we sat by the door. A couple of minutes later 2 men walked in a mend were greeted by a heavy set man wearing a yellow shirt who works there; who was apparently friends with them by the way he greeted them. He then sat them at what would have been our table and completely ignored us. The women who told us it would be about 10 minutes before we would get seated said something to him but that didn't matter. That's some BS customer service. We left. Don't eat there very often. Definitely won't go back if that's how you treat people. Discrimination against people you don't know by preferential treatment for those you do. Poor customer service. read more

So disappointed! I have been reading, on our neighborhood FB page, on local review sites etc., such wonderful things about this place.... all hype no delivery in my opinion. They close at 2, we went at 1, intending to sit outside, which is our preference in 2020. Several tables but the umbrellas has already been taken down and availability was in direct sun, so we went inside. The place was almost empty so we took a booth and were given a menu. We both ordered Benedict's, mine classic , his with corn beef hash, both asked for runny eggs, and home fries and drinks, tea and Diet Coke. Salt and pepper were in greasy plastic shakers, and brought to table with wrapped silverware. There was no need to take a picture ... plopped on the dishes, there it was. Mine lukewarm, his hash was very hot, so obviously, both made and sat until the hash was done! Ho hum... I have had many Benedict's before, and none this boring. Cold muffin, about room temperature Canadian bacon, I would bet store bought Hollandaise...and the potatoes were basically unseasoned. My bill, with tax and tip was 34 and change!
