Eight family members went out for Christmas dinner at the Denny's in Leesburg. Everyone was pleased with their meal and Gio our server was great. We each ordered something different but I ordered their turkey dinner. The turkey was moist and tender and the dressing and other two sides were all great! Service from Crystal was excellent. The breakfasts were what one would expect. The potatoes and crepes arrived hot. What I saw if the place was clean, and there were no sketchy people about. So I give it a four, not meaning it is my favorite breakfast place, but we all know what we are getting into when we walk into a Dennys so I evaluate them from that perspective, and they did fine. read more

Haven't been to a Denny's in a while. But I've been having an urge. So I stopped in here one early afternoon recently. It was typical Denny's decor and didn't smell too bad inside. There was no crowd. I didn't wait long, and a friendly waitress soon ushered me into a booth. It was a good laid back Leesburg vibe. I had been wanting to know how Denny's burgers had evolved. And so it wasn't long before I had decided on a bacon avocado cheeseburger with onion rings. The waitress took my order and came back with my food right around the time I had caught up on emails. The burger was abundantly decent and covered with that nice sheen of fine grease I've come to expect at a good Denny's. Although I wish that the onion rings, fried in the same grease, had been a just a bit more crispy. (I regret not having taken pictures.) The only downside was the water. I took only one sip. Even with lemon, it tasted a bit too much like tap water. Yet all-in-all I still have to give it 4-stars on the Denny's scale. I left with a full belly and a few dollars left in my wallet. But above all else, I left with the assurance that Denny's was still an unwavering American restaurant icon and committed to its original values. It made me want to go back. I haven't been to a Denny's in years. Most of the ones I have been too in the past were either dirty, bad service or literal crime scenes (lol not kidding). So we were itching for breakfast for dinner and gave this one a try. WHAT A SURPRISE! It was clean, the staff was friendly and our food came out hot and in a timely fashion. It was truly a pleasant dining experience. We both had omelets and both were delicious. They don't have gluten free pancakes (I'm gluten free), but they do offer a gluten free english muffin which really hit the spot. We got chicken tenders to go and those were good also. Just got back from Denny's Restaurant in Leesburg, FL after trying the new Braised Beef Skillet sizzler breakfast. We weren't impressed with it at all. No mushrooms and a few tiny pieces of roast beef. We've always enjoyed breakfast at Denny's but this time the food tasted a bit off, almost like the skillet had been cleaned with an SOS pad but not rinsed well. Husband got sick on the way home and I have an upset stomach! I called and spoke with a manager whose only reply was "Okay" twice. We paid $45.99 for breakfast skillet special including tip. Not so much as an offer to refund or in anyway make up for bad food service. Denny's has always been our breakfast 'go to' place hitting it several times a month. Not anymore! Worst of the worst Went in there at 10 pm last night 3/28,24 and they were not all that busy We ordered 2 burgers thats right just 2 burgers and 30 min later the cook with the pony tail put one of them up for the servers to take and 15 min later it is still sitting there as she never put the other one up letting the one she put up there 15 min earlier get cold This is total incompetence on the part of the cook ( who cannot cook more than 1 item at a time) and the manager on duty who allowed this After all this and still not getting our food we left and went elsewhere to never return again as 45 min wait and still no food is unacceptable to us maybe it is to the manager on duty and the cook but not to us read more

I haven't been to Denny's in YEARS, but it happened to be the only thing open when my husband and I decided that we were hungry. I was super excited when I looked at their menu to see that they had country fried chicken so we decided we'd give it a go. Upon arrival it was just like I remembered it, a little dirty with that old town feel. There wasn't a hostess present but it didn't take her long to come over and get us seated. The kids had the fruit smoothies which were great. My husband got the traditional lumberjack slam with the caramel banana crème pancakes (those pancakes were to die for) they tasted like banana pudding. They weren't overly sweet but also didn't need any syrup. I ordered the country fried chicken with mashed potatoes and the zucchini/squash mixture. I was highly disappointed with my meal. The cook sent out the "country fried chicken", which was nothing but two fried chicken sandwich patties, without any gravy and put a side of watered down gravy on the side. The vegetables were less than desirable and burnt. They ended up bringing me out another side of gravy that was a little thicker but that didn't make it any better. Great diner with great food. Love the oldies always playing. Good prices, great breakfasts. In November I had their Thanksgiving feast which was really good, wasn't able to cook for the holiday and this was a real treat. Very pleasant staff. Also, they have one of the best cheeseburgers in town. I do enjoy the wonderful breakfasts from the $4-6-8 menu. Usually eat here about once a week so this review covers more than one visit. Overall a great family restaurant. Updating my review. Took this review to a 3. No longer have the oldies playing so not so much fun for us. Service has become very slow with waitresses that seem to be overworked. Unfortunately, there are a lot of other places to get a good burger. Eating less and less here. read more

A bit on the slow and confused side at times with service, the positive attitudes and efforts aiming to please make up for delays (unless you're in a hurry - though I'll bet if you made a point to say so, things would move faster for you). Denny's fare here the same as elsewhere. This is one of those places where it doesn't really make sense to review the food and where service makes the difference absent any severe departures from expected food quality. Wow, really disappointed. Always heard Dennys was bad, and this proved those people right. Food was not good, also Luke warm. Toast had a gross form of butter, I think, dropped on it. Floor was dirty and menus were slimy. And my service was non existent, paid 2 bucks for 1 cup of coffee, never could get refill. And on top of that, was expensive. Today is Mother's Day, and every year my mom likes to go out to breakfast with a couple of her friends. Every year I call the restaurant she is going to and pay for her breakfast over the phone as a nice little Mother's Day surprise. This year she picked Denny's. I called to pay for her breakfast and I was told they do not have the capabilities to let me pay for her over the phone So I am wondering how do they take payments over the phone for takeout orders? Or when someone's card strip won't scan? I've worked in restaurants for 20 years and I know that this IS possible. Instead of a nice surprise with the waiter/waitress going to the table and telling them their check had been paid, I had to call my mom while she was at the table and tell her I would transfer the money into her checking account after she could tell me what the total was for her and her friends' breakfasts. Rather embarrassing...and definitely took away from the thoughtfulness of the gesture I was trying to express. I doubt she felt very special when I told her to pay for it herself and I would reimburse her later. Imagine if you got a gift that way?! Obviously the woman who answered the phone did not want to go the extra mile to look for my mom and her friends, because I find it rather hard to believe that I am able to pay for my mom's breakfasts at EVERY OTHER LOCALLY OWNED BUSINESS OVER THE PHONE but not a NATIONWIDE food chain because of the ridiculous excuse that they do not have the "capability to process the payment". read more

This is a good breakfast restaurant normally, BUT, today extreme issues. We had to wait for a table when we could see several empty tables. After we finally got seated and had coffees the waitress said "I probably should have told you but there will be at least a 45min wait for whatever you order from the grill. We decided to walk out. This Denny's was opened just a few days after Hurricane Irma hit Florida pretty hard! They were nice and quick even with all the people. My review has changed since the beginning of this year. That review was based on last year, with old management. Now this place is very clean, and the new crew is fantastic! Great place to go to. I am highly disappointed at this restaurant. I have order from this established 3 times this week and every time my order was messed up. From the cold cheese sticks and fries down to the burnt chicken strips and the burnt French fries and very little fries in my order at that. Obviously, new management took over a few years back. The place has been cleaned up, service has improved and the food is much better. Love their AARP 20% discount! For Leesburg, this is one of the best places to eat. Menu offers great deals with their $2,$4,$6, and $8 appetizers and meals. Have yet to try their new "build a burger" but will do so soon. We had breakfast this morning at Denny's in Leesburg, FL. Sorry but I am not sure even a two star was fair. Our waitress, Tammy, was excellent but the service was terrible as far as receiving our food. It took 45 minutes, as she told us it would. Not sure why we just didn't walk out. Won't have to worry about that any more as we will not be going to this Denny's again. What a shame! We sat in a booth that faced the parking lot. Watched many, many people walk in, or as far as the door, and returned to their vehicles. At least 15 people were siting/standing inside the door when we left and there were many tables and booths empty. What goes here?? Even when we entered there were many empty areas and yet we had to wait at the entrance. What a way of running a business. I really feel sorry for your waitresses as they are the ones that have to answer the questions and make excuses. That is actually abuse to them. read more
