We were looking forward to a yummy breakfast and couldn't decide so we went here. Most of our dishes were okay. The chicken fried steak was average. The breakfast burrito was okay. My son loved the cinnamon french toast. But my oldest's omelet was so thin it looked transparent. It was thinner than the complementary Swedish pancake that they severed us. I wish I would have taken a picture. You could see the pile of spinach and some mushrooms right through it. Did they run out of eggs? We were going to bring it to your server's attention, but we just shared our meals with him. Service was pretty good which reflected in her tip. I did feel we were initially overlooked to be seated because a few groups with our number of people were seated so I naturally went to check. The young lady said, "Yeah we are waiting for a table" Almost immediately, another young lady said, "I can take you." Thank seemed a bit strange. Other than that it was pleasant. read more

Beware, no actual gluten free options like listed on the yelp page. The server told us they couldn't accommodate a GF diet. We asked for Tony, the manager, and he was able to have the kitchen make a scramble and potatoes with sliced tomatoes that was pretty good. Good stop if you're traveling through Ventura. My husband and I had brunch here last weekend, and really enjoyed the experience! We were visiting from out of town, and chose it based on the good reviews we found on Yelp. We showed up at about 10:30 on a Sunday morning, and only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated, which was nice. Service was very prompt, and all of the servers were friendly. Our seats were perfect - a nice private booth with no one in our lap (again, I hate people too close to me in restaurants - a weird obsession of mine!) My coffee cup was always full, and so were our water glasses. I had the cinnamon roll french toast with a side of bacon, and finished my entire plate with no problem. It was all very good. My husband had the chicken fried steak and eggs with gravy, and he thought it was great. He gave me a few bites before downing it all, and I'd have to agree, it WAS great. A great find! Was nearby and was looking for a breakfast place. Everything was 5 star. I had the chicken fried steak with scrambled egg and homemade biscuit with gravy. Loved everything we ordered today! Enchilada omelette was absolutely amazing. I love that their omelettes are thin and folded almost like a burrito. Wasn't crazy about the cottage fries, but that's just personal. O'brien potatoes were great and so was the biscuits and gravy. Coffee was good, servers kept the mug full. Not a huge fan of the layout of the restaurant, seemed like a giant cafeteria but the food was amazing so that isn't a big deal. We will definitely Be back! Dying to try other menu items! read more

Friendly staff, great service, and I really enjoyed my breakfast. I ordered the Pnacake Sampler (2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, 2 sausage links) and I loved the fact that my scrambled eggs were beautifally cooked, nice and yellow - NOT burned brown. The bacon was also very tasty and cooked perfectly, not too blackened/crispy, just right! I'm a total pancake snob, too, so let me just say that I'm now contimplating making trips back regularly. I normally love to eat at Eggs n Things on the weekends and enjoy a good brunch with my family, but unfortunately I was unable to do that this past weekend because of the service received at this location. The server, Eva, was extremely rude and inattentive. I have never experienced such an unpleasant young woman, not only did she take awhile to greet us, she put the order in wrong making us wait even longer for food and when we tried to tell her what was wrong with the order she made it seem like it was our fault and did not want to listen to us. Please resolve this issue or unfortunately you will have lost a customer. read more

Wonderful place. We were traveling. Stopped here for breakfast. Hostess was very cheerful. Seated us quickly. Our server Brianna was truly one of the best servers we have had. I have Celiac. When traveling or we go out it is always a challenge getting servers to understand and relay to the kitchen my dietary needs. I know it's an extra effort. Brianna asked questions and helped us through our order. Then went into the kitchen to ask questions. There was no doubt in my mind they were doing their best. Tried this place out on a Sunday and it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The crepes they bring to start you off are a really nice touch and intro to a meal, but our meals them selves were not all that great, but again weren't bad. I had the Eggs Benedict, which is my favorite brunch dish, and found it to be lacking in taste and richness--particularly the hollandaise sauce. Good service and decent food. I just didn't love my hash. At all. We ate there two weeks ago and DH doesn't remember what he got. We both got biscuits, which were huge. (Sometimes less is more.) Coffee was good and they kept refilling which is nice. But eating under fluorescent lights is not relaxing, so the atmosphere is meh at best. Eggs N Things is the right place to go if you're looking for something mind-blowing. My friend and I were eager to check this place out before we headed into work and I have to say, it was one of my better decisions. I got the French toast and the chicken enchilada omelette and they were as amazing as I hoped. The French Toast was crunchy and the cinnamon flavor was perfect. At least I believe that's what it was! It was a true delight. I didn't finish my chicken enchilada there but I did take it with me. I refuse to waste good food! My friend and I have both agreed that we would be back again. Mediocre service, our main server was a little rude and unable to answer our questions about the food. This used to be mine and my family's favorite restaurant growing up but when I came back a few years later with my boyfriend, we ordered two breakfast burritos and the most flavorful thing was the tortilla. We felt extremely disappointed :( Everything tasted like it was pre-made. Like pourable scrambled eggs, and pre-packaged hash browns, even the chicken and sausage were totally un-tastable in the burrito. It was the most bland burrito I've ever had. The service was amazing, and the waitresses are great! (I would give the waitresses 6 stars if possible) But when we spoke to the manager about our food, he didn't say anything in response, no apology, no offers, nothing. This meal was most definitely not worth the $25 spent. We ended up having them clear our food and ate somewhere else. If you're looking for a great breakfast place, go down the street to Allison's Country Cafe, or even better, head down to Wells Rd. And eat at Cafe 126 (sooo worth the drive!) read more

Went there with three others, we had waffle, Denver omelet, and chicken sandwich, with juices and coffees. Waffle was awesome: light, crisp, quite filling, just very tasty; I have never enjoyed a waffle more. Denver omelet was as good as it gets, good filling, amble serving, eggs perfectly cooked. Chicken sandwiches were tasty, not too greasy, very satisfying. Coffee - not good, drinkable with lots of cream. "Industrial" was the word which came to mind. For a breakfast joint - disappointing. Juices were generous servings and very good. A major bummer is that this place is only open until 2pm. I can happily eat breakfast for late day or night meals. Also, when it is open, it tends to be crowded, especially on weekends; you may have to wait quite awhile for a table. But - people do wait, and my friend tells me this is THE best breakfast anywhere. My grandmother, sister, and I decided to try here on my lunch break. The wait was reasonable, service was a good speed, but the pancakes were undercooked, still noticeable wet in the middle on both my grandmother's and mine (sister ordered french toast). My sister's sausage though, was also under done, when asked for a fully cooked replacement, the exact same half-bitten piece came back half burnt. It seems very unsanitary that they would recook food in their kitchen which came in contact with a customer's mouth. They atleast removed the pancakes from the bill. read more

Found this place through the find me gluten free app where they advertise they accommodate those with gluten allergies. Upon entering I asked if they had a gluten free menu and they said they would get the manager. The manager comes out and proceeds to tell me every item on the menu has gluten. I asked them if they had gluten in their eggs and he said they did lol! He was extremely rude and after the long drive trying to find the place starving for breakfast what a HUGE letdown. We are regulars at the Simi valley location and the service, food, and staff are Amazing there so we assumed the Ventura location would we the same....we were so wrong! There service was lacking, the food was not the same recipes or quality. I ordered a ice water to drink and my mom ordered just a cup of hot water as She had brought her own herbal tea with her. The bill came with a charge for coffee at $3. When we asked for the error to be changed the VERY RUDE manager Levi told us that charge was for the cup of hot water. When we asked why we were charged for the hot water but not the ice water. We were told by NASTY Mr Levi that it costs money to heat the water and wash the cup. Well Mr manager Levi, the ice machine and the cup the ice water was in would cost the same... Duuuuhhhh? My mom was upset and mentioned we were never charge for hot water at the Simi location. Being the big ass that this guy Levi is he gave us a snarky laugh and said " Is that so, well I'm calling them right now". With his huge lack of manager skills in full swing this poor excuse of a man picked up the phone right there and called the Simi store. Came here for breakfast for my second time and was a lot less impressed this time. I got an omelette with veggies and sour cream, which was ok. The omelette was good but a bit soggy and they gave me a tiny spoonful of sour cream. My boyfriend got the machaca scramble, which was really good and had a huge portion. I enjoy Eggs N Things in Valencia, but I believe it originated in my hometown of Ventura. I was glad to have an opportunity to sample the familiar fare at this location. We were able to have our large group of 5 adults and 3 kids seated fairly quickly. Service was on the mark. If you are unfamiliar with the drill here, everyone gets a free Swedish Pancake, a crepe-like goodie with powdered sugar and a bit of jam. I got the Eggs N Things Benedict, with avocado and tomato instead of ham. Delicious. Great place to share a meal with beloved friends and family! read more
