Stopped here driving between LA and SF. - Great coffee - Superb omelet - shredded pork with cilantro and lots of veggies - Good hot sauce on the table - An amuse buche!!! a tiny crepe. cute! - Fast service - Good kid menu BTW I always feel it necessary to say that this isn't the French Laundry or whatever, and so I always wonder about giving 5 stars because this isn't the best food in the world - but for what it is - breakfast food in a strip mall - damn it was tasty. Really glad we went here. If you're in the area it is much better than Denny's or McD's or anything else within a mile of the highway. If I were a local I can see eating here often. read more

Based off the Yelp reviews, I took the family here for breakfast after my half marathon. I was leaning towards the pancakes and eggs, but went with the huevos rancheros. I did not enjoy it, the flavor was totally off. My wife ordered the croissant sandwich, but it was very mediocre. The kids both had the French Toast and it was great. I did get those pancakes and they were great. So, to sum it up, if you're in the mood for pancakes, crepes, or French Toast then go here. The other breakfast items are not so impressive. A great find! Was nearby and was looking for a breakfast place. Everything was 5 star. I had the chicken fried steak with scrambled egg and homemade biscuit with gravy. My wife had the banana pancakes. Even the fruit in the fruit bowl was just ripe enough and very tasty. Will come back next time in town. Service was great too. read more

Tried this place out on a Sunday and it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The crepes they bring to start you off are a really nice touch and intro to a meal, but our meals them selves were not all that great, but again weren't bad. I had the Eggs Benedict, which is my favorite brunch dish, and found it to be lacking in taste and richness--particularly the hollandaise sauce. There were five of us trying it out and we all had the same verdict, not bad but not great. read more

Good service and decent food. I just didn't love my hash. At all. We ate there two weeks ago and DH doesn't remember what he got. We both got biscuits, which were huge. (Sometimes less is more.) Coffee was good and they kept refilling which is nice. But eating under fluorescent lights is not relaxing, so the atmosphere is meh at best. Eggs N Things is the right place to go if you're looking for something mind-blowing. My friend and I were eager to check this place out before we headed into work and I have to say, it was one of my better decisions. I got the French toast and the chicken enchilada omelette and they were as amazing as I hoped. The French Toast was crunchy and the cinnamon flavor was perfect. At least I believe that's what it was! It was a true delight. I didn't finish my chicken enchilada there but I did take it with me. I refuse to waste good food! My friend and I have both agreed that we would be back again. My husband and I had brunch here last weekend, and really enjoyed the experience! We were visiting from out of town, and chose it based on the good reviews we found on Yelp. We showed up at about 10:30 on a Sunday morning, and only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated, which was nice. Service was very prompt, and all of the servers were friendly. Our seats were perfect - a nice private booth with no one in our lap (again, I hate people too close to me in restaurants - a weird obsession of mine!) My coffee cup was always full, and so were our water glasses. I had the cinnamon roll french toast with a side of bacon, and finished my entire plate with no problem. It was all very good. My husband had the chicken fried steak and eggs with gravy, and he thought it was great. He gave me a few bites before downing it all, and I'd have to agree, it WAS great. If we're ever back in town, we'd visit here again! read more

This used to be mine and my family's favorite restaurant growing up but when I came back a few years later with my boyfriend, we ordered two breakfast burritos and the most flavorful thing was the tortilla. We felt extremely disappointed :( Everything tasted like it was pre-made. Like pourable scrambled eggs, and pre-packaged hash browns, even the chicken and sausage were totally un-tastable in the burrito. It was the most bland burrito I've ever had. The service was amazing, and the waitresses are great! (I would give the waitresses 6 stars if possible) But when we spoke to the manager about our food, he didn't say anything in response, no apology, no offers, nothing. This meal was most definitely not worth the $25 spent. We ended up having them clear our food and ate somewhere else. If you're looking for a great breakfast place, go down the street to Allison's Country Cafe, or even better, head down to Wells Rd. And eat at Cafe 126 (sooo worth the drive!) read more

My grandmother, sister, and I decided to try here on my lunch break. The wait was reasonable, service was a good speed, but the pancakes were undercooked, still noticeable wet in the middle on both my grandmother's and mine (sister ordered french toast). My sister's sausage though, was also under done, when asked for a fully cooked replacement, the exact same half-bitten piece came back half burnt. It seems very unsanitary that they would recook food in their kitchen which came in contact with a customer's mouth. They atleast removed the pancakes from the bill. read more

Found this place through the find me gluten free app where they advertise they accommodate those with gluten allergies. Upon entering I asked if they had a gluten free menu and they said they would get the manager. The manager comes out and proceeds to tell me every item on the menu has gluten. I asked them if they had gluten in their eggs and he said they did lol! He was extremely rude and after the long drive trying to find the place starving for breakfast what a HUGE letdown. Buddy why don't you stop advertising yourself as a business that accommodates allergies and work on some old fashioned customer service skills. read more

Came here for breakfast for my second time and was a lot less impressed this time. I got an omelette with veggies and sour cream, which was ok. The omelette was good but a bit soggy and they gave me a tiny spoonful of sour cream. My boyfriend got the machaca scramble, which was really good and had a huge portion. My grandma and I go here often, their service is fast even on the weekend you don't wait more than I'd say 20 min! Plus they have 2 locations which is pretty cool, the food here is so yummy I love their pancakes with fresh strawberries, clam chowder they have so much to offer! Went there with three others, we had waffle, Denver omelet, and chicken sandwich, with juices and coffees. Waffle was awesome: light, crisp, quite filling, just very tasty; I have never enjoyed a waffle more. Denver omelet was as good as it gets, good filling, amble serving, eggs perfectly cooked. Chicken sandwiches were tasty, not too greasy, very satisfying. Coffee - not good, drinkable with lots of cream. "Industrial" was the word which came to mind. For a breakfast joint - disappointing. Juices were generous servings and very good. A major bummer is that this place is only open until 2pm. I can happily eat breakfast for late day or night meals. Also, when it is open, it tends to be crowded, especially on weekends; you may have to wait quite awhile for a table. But - people do wait, and my friend tells me this is THE best breakfast anywhere. It's difficult to find restaurants these days who care about quality. I brought a group of people here for breakfast recently and had a great experience! I am a former restaurant worker who cares about quality in both food and service. For whatever reason most places don't know how to make over medium eggs. I've basically given up trying but I thought I give it one more try here. 2 of us asked for over medium eggs and much to our surprise they were perfect along with everything else. Our waitress was attentive and capable, very pleasant as well. The entire place was clean. Never had to ask for a coffee refill, someone was always there at the ready. This doesn't happen by chance, it's reflective of people who take pride in what they do. I don't live in Ventura but you can bet I'll stop in each time I pass through from now on. We are regulars at the Simi valley location and the service, food, and staff are Amazing there so we assumed the Ventura location would we the same....we were so wrong! There service was lacking, the food was not the same recipes or quality. I ordered a ice water to drink and my mom ordered just a cup of hot water as She had brought her own herbal tea with her. The bill came with a charge for coffee at $3. When we asked for the error to be changed the VERY RUDE manager Levi told us that charge was for the cup of hot water. When we asked why we were charged for the hot water but not the ice water. We were told by NASTY Mr Levi that it costs money to heat the water and wash the cup. Well Mr manager Levi, the ice machine and the cup the ice water was in would cost the same... Duuuuhhhh? My mom was upset and mentioned we were never charge for hot water at the Simi location. Being the big ass that this guy Levi is he gave us a snarky laugh and said " Is that so, well I'm calling them right now". With his huge lack of manager skills in full swing this poor excuse of a man picked up the phone right there and called the Simi store. Completely disgusted We walked away as he stood there and laughed. HORRIBLE!!! read more

Stopped in for breakfast, after being seated and getting coffee, the wait staff did not return. Waited about 10 minutes, then decided to leave. I will never come back. At the front counter, stopped to pay for the coffee and share my experience, the wait staff was ringing up the coffee when the manager overheard and waived the charge. Horrible service. Not nice wait personnel. They even served another couple that came in after us. Wow!!! Nothing more to say. read more
