Just had our usual and it's was good, disappointment with a really stale fortune cookie, how does that happen?

Well me n my friend decided we wanted to give this place a try so we ordered take out..called whoever answered didn't even say hold on or anything just sort of ignored us...sounded real busy in the background....we ordered the food the lady told us that it will be ready in 15 mins...so we got there waited like 7mins there..while being there the phones rang like crazy!!!! they needed help...no actual waiter and there was like three tables dirty since they were that busy...as soon as u walk in u can look back into the kitchen/storage area not sure if I want to see the people cutting up my cabbage but ehhh... on to the food now it was good not the best..pretty good portions..the food tastes like it had a little bit too much oil in a way but not totally idk if that makes sense but it wasn't greasy! the price for the food is good for the portions u get..but don't come to eat here bcuz they will probably forget about u..so just order take out =) read more

Where do I begin?! My delivery driver was very rude and extremely BOLD! He would not give me my food until I signed my receipt and then gave him a tip but ok whatever I'll give a few dollars extra including the del fee lol So with my food, at first glance everything looked ok. I ordered the Kung pao shrimp lunch special for myself and the shrimp and broccoli for my sister. Soooooo thanks for last nights fried rice guys! I swear it was the hardest and driest looking eggs I have ever seen in my life! And the egg flower soup? It was so Effin cold! Like was everything from the previous day??? I love hot and sour soup. Based on the reviews, I decided to try it and pick up food from here. Parking was easy in the back. It's not somewhere I would eat it but they did have plenty of seats. They weren't the friendliest, but the main guy was busy talking on his headset while ringing me up. I got home the hot and sour soup was so bland. Not spicy or sour. Complete fail. It was also super greasy. I also order the chow mein. I was disappointed b/c it wasn't what I expected. I'm from the east coast and chow mein there is just veggies in a white sauce. I just got vegetables eggrolls and shrimp eggrolls They were hot and crispy, fresh made to order but pretty bland and the sauce was really watered down. Can't speak on the other menu items but the eggrolls were pretty meh. read more

a big Piece of medal in my friends chow mein!! We picked up 3 dishes of chow mein and other soup goodies from EggRoll Express, we have always gone there and are considered regulars... (i guess not anymore). As we headed back home yesterday to "enjoy" our meal, my best friend noted something strange in his plate, as he dug in his plate to pull out the strange object, it turned to be a piece of medal (we have pictures of the plate), looked like a piece of medal from the equipment they use or something. it was huge like if he had accidentally swallowed it or chewed it he would either die suffocate or severely damage his death. 70% American, 30% Chinese food, that's what you have to expect when you go here or order online. I like the place, it's on my way home from work and I stop sometimes to pick up some stuff for dinner. You call in advance (20 to 30 minutes) and the food is ready for pick up when you arrive, I never had to wait. The things I like the most here are all kind of egg rolls (that's there speciality, it's the Egg Roll Express!!) and any fried rice dish (Pineapple and Sweet Corn is the best of the best) Overall, I'm happy with this place :) read more

Me and the hubby just recently ordered take out broccoli beef chow mein and white rice, we were not too satisfied with what we got!! My family and I have been getting Egg Roll Express delivered, to our home, once a month or more for the last 13 years. It's always fast, served hot and tastes great. I highly recommend the Won Ton Soup, Mu Shu Chicken (my kids love it), Egg Fried Rice and the Broccoli Beef (another family fav.) I read on Yelp a few folks didn't get their items when delivered. Our first experience with Egg Roll Express did not end so well. After a long day of sampling beers in our backyard with friends we got hungry but couldn't drive. Egg Roll Express thankfully delivers. Well needless to say it did not sit well with two of us. The other two were fine. For a while after that we swore off Egg Roll Express. Fast forward to a post birthday/all weekend of guests day. There is no food in the house and no desire to cook. Not desiring kebab we decide to give this place a second try. We get the chow mein combo a. This time no upset stomachs, but instead very full and happy bellies. It isn't the highest quality of food, but the taste exceeds the price you are paying for it. It is well done fast chinese food. Ordered delivery over Yelp, took a shower and then it showed up! 15 minutes, such perfect timing. The food showed up hot and the plastic take out container was filled to bursting with perfectly greasy enough but not artery clogging Chinese food. The first time I walked in, I never expected to get such fresh and delicious food. The decor may be a little dated, but they offer a great variety on their menu and most of their items are great. Parking lot is in the rear, and is a little small but there is usually parking if its not a busy weekend. If you go in through the rear, you enter the actual dining room so you can have a sit down dinner. If you prefer to do take out, you can walk over to the front where they do all the cooking. You can place your order and watch them making everything with fresh ingredients in the woks right in front of you. Chow mein is great, and the fried rice is perfection. My husband loves the potstickers. Their orange chicken and mongolian beef are great too. Definitely a great alternative to Panda Inn. Just as flavorful, but more affordable. We live just up the street in Altadena and were looking for a local Chinese place so we wouldn't have to drive down the hill into Pasadena. Since the Yelp reviews were pretty good and I had a $4 off coupon from the recent Clipper magazine, we decided to give it a whirl. We placed our order on-line through GrubHub which was SO convenient and fun. My only issue is that the restaurant either doesn't include steamed rice with entree orders or it needed to be ordered separately, but that never came up during the order process and we didn't get steamed rice with our order. (I since checked the menu and steamed rice should have been included with our 2 entrees, so they get a demerit for not including it). We had the Beef with Broccoli (the sauce was a little salty and gelatinous but the beef was cooked just right and the broccoli was fresh and crisp) Steamed Dumplings (good, dipping sauce was just OK) Crispy Sesame Shrimp (good flavor but because of how it is packaged to go, it ends up steaming and is no long crispy. It is one of my favorite dishes and I won't order it here again) Chicken Chow Mein with soft noodles (the best of the dishes we ordered. Flavorful, not greasy, good amount of chicken and crisp veggies). My son wanted some crispy chow mein noodles and they gave him a generous bag at no additional charge. Although we were able to order Lemonade from the on-line menu they don't actually have lemonade so my son opted for a Mango Madness Snapple. Otherwise, our $2 sodas were bottles. I will look through the reviews on Yelp again for other menu item suggestions but we will go back. It really does beat the drive down the hill (but I will say that Grandview Palace II has better food overall). read more

Went here today and ordered BBQ pork fried rice and crab rangoon. The prices are pretty good, rice was $6.50 and they give you a huge portion of food. I'm a really big eater and they did not skimp on portions, they gave me enough to feed two people. The staff were nice as well. My only complaint was the flavor of the food. Especially, the crab rangoon. They were OK at best and the rice was decent but nothing spectacular. The BBQ pork is definitely tasty though. I'd say the place is a little bit higher quality than your usual chinese food fast. If you're hungry and you want a lot of food at a low price with decent quality I'd hit up this joint. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant for take out all my life growing up in pasadena. Everything has been perfect but today wasn't the best being it's Mother's Day too. Food was late and I didn't make a big deal of it until I realize our pan fried chow mein was missing when I got home.
