My husband really liked the Island Bird Bowl but found the Mac salad left something to be desired (he's from Hawaii and pretty particular about his Mac salad so keep that in mind). Been wanting a good chicken sandwich for a while. Didnt know this place was so close to me. Thought everything they sold had egg so I was suprised to see some good looking chicken sandwiches on the menu. Decided to go with the korean hot chicken sandwich. The flavor was good, the chicken was crispy. My only reason really for giving it 3 stars is my food was cold. Yes the coleslaw should be cold but I feel the rest of the sandwich should be pretty hot because of that. So instead of getting hot crispy chicken or even a hot bun, I got a cold chicken sandwich. The quality of the chicken was excellent as well, super juicy and crispy! This was our first time so we wanted to make sure to try all of the flavors and honestly was underwhelmed by the Garlic Parmesan and the "Korean" flavor wasn't that special either. The macaroni was Al denti and had good flavor, but was pretty basic. (Not a bad thing.) I only gave this place 3 stars because of the price point... I think it's a little pricy for what you're getting. And I also would complain about the lack of sauce. Instead of toss the tender in a good amount of sauce, they simply drizzle a small amount on one side of the tender as you can see with the Garlic Parmesan flavor. Overall I might try this place again when I'm craving a good quality chicken tender, however it won't be something I run to due to the price. I would skip the bowl next time and just order a 4 piece tender (half crack half Nashville). I am glad I tried it, I've been curious about is place for a while. Honestly...I was super underwhelmed. I was very excited when this Egg N Bird opened up because it was super close in proximity but I don't think I'll be coming back. Starting with the food. It was okay. Was it the worst sandwich I ever had? No but it certainly could be better. For a sandwich I was honestly expecting more. If I want a chicken sandwich it should be with a chicken patty, not two chicken tenders between buns. The sauce was flavorful but it definitely wasn't Raising Cane's sauce. They had some interesting looking items that look appealing but after trying the base sandwich, it leaves me with low expectations. The other issue I had was the cost of the food. 8-10 dollars for the sandwiches are actually decent but the cost of the combo adds an additional 5 dollars. That's a very steep up charge for small fries and a drink. When you're offering a combo, you want the customer to feel like they're getting a good deal, not get ripped off. The service was decent. The front hosts were very nice but the speed of pushing out the food was not there. It took us almost 30 minutes to receive our food and it wasn't even that busy to be honest. The inside of the store is actually very small and seating is super limited. My recommendation is to order online and pick up because it seats like 15 people tops. read more
