I've been meaning to try this place for ages and recently a coworker friend mentioned she went and loved it so when I didn't wanna cook before work I brought my daughter by! The gal working and getting our food ready was super sweet and friendly all while also working the drive thru. Our food was delicious. I recommend eating inside. The place is very clean, has a few TVs, and smells really nice. The bathroom is very clean. Customer service was great. They greeted me when I came in and again when I left. I like this location more off the bat. It has ample space and better access situation than the Fullerton location has. It's not Fullerton's fault though; they had to make do with the space they had. The food is great still. I even got a chance to try the tenders here. They were pretty damn good. I still Dave's has the best in the hot chicken market, but Clyde's were very close. Sure, they were smaller than Dave's, but they made up for it by including an extra one for me. That's a badass move from the staff, which they say is the standard because they know the strips come in a bit on the small side. For what it's worth, I think this is the Clyde's I'll be frequenting because of the spacing and atmosphere, but also just because of the distance and same quality menu. read more

I really wanted to like Clyde's Hot Chicken, but unfortunately, my experience through the drive-thru left a lot to be desired. I ordered a chicken sandwich meal and asked for a couple of simple modifications--putting the pickles on the side and swapping the waffle fries for crinkle fries (which are the same price). To my surprise, I was told that neither of these basic requests could be accommodated. I get that every restaurant has its policies, but refusing to make minor adjustments that wouldn't cost them anything extra just doesn't make sense. These aren't over-the-top customizations; they're basic preferences that most places are more than willing to honor. The drive-thru associate wasn't rude, but she also wasn't helpful--and while I don't blame her personally, it's clear that Clyde's has some rigid and frankly frustrating policies that take away from the customer experience. If I'm paying for a meal, I should be able to enjoy it the way I like it. Unfortunately, it felt more like a fast food assembly line than a place that values its customers. This was the worst experience I've had with this restaurant. The cashier would not let me order waffle fries. She literally said my combo only comes with regular fries. One of my favorite places to get chicken strips. They have four levels of heat for your comfort. I tried the Hot As Cluck level and it had a kick to it. I got the 12 pc wings and it was packed with flavor. It was spicy, sweet, and well seasoned. The wings were also really juicy. I asked for pickles on top and they were the fat juicy kind that you can find at Disneyland. Man oh man... Clyde's has the BEST chicken in this whole entire world. The seasoning is unlike ANY other place, you could put it on garbage and it'll taste amazing Lol. Worth the wait. Today me and my family went in and you guys had no strips. Btw we came in at 11:51, how do you not have strips?! And it's lunch time! So instead we got the Clyde's original sandwich with original seasoning, with fries and a drink. The fries were very old and had zero seasoning. My mum's lil clucker was old. The actual piece of chicken was old and had no original seasoning whatsoever and I asked for original seasoning. And it all makes sense why we didn't have to wait a long time for the food... bc the food was old!! We were dining in and like the drink station was out of order so then we have to bother the lady working the register area, for refills, what's up with that? My mum wanted a tea that you guys usually have that is bomb but you guys didn't have that either!!! Something is AWFULLY wrong with that picture. And there is always homeless people hovering around the property which is not ok. You guys really raised the prices and you guys are worth it but from this day forward, I will not be coming back. I like Clyde's but this one here lol the customer service is ridiculous you order a coke they give you coke 0 or diet whatever they have there. They charge for sauce which is ridiculous for the amount they put on your sandwich and this is the first Clyde ever that I have been too that does not give at least one free sauce. And then you charge a dollar for a small size if you're gonna charge at least be decent and have a bigger size sauce. The sandwich would taste much better if they weren't stingy with their sauce. I live in Chino but I'll keep going to Fullerton where the customer service is good and they at least give you one to two sauce as well as a good amount of sauce on your sandwich!! The location looked dirty and unappealing, uninviting, empty no patrons but one derelict by the soda machine. This was my second visit having been pleased with the chicken, but the service this time was rude. Walked into this chicken spot, trying to introduce it to my spouse for the first time as she was excited to have the chicken wings. When I asked to order the chicken wings, they said that they had none. So we had to settle with the chicken sandwich. The sandwich advertised shows a chicken sandwich with plentiful coleslaw leaking out of the sandwich. We specified the order without pickles and what we got was barely any coleslaw and plenty of pickles. I ordered the 12 count of boneless chicken bites and was still charged for two extra sauces. Altogether in this order, I paid $50. No wonder both locations Montclair and Fullerton are empty. Especially when I attempted to contact management about this, giving them their opportunity to make things right. I spoke to Marcel one of the owners and he misled me to believe that he could make things right. Now he has lost a customer not that he cares anyway....................Do not be fooled by the automated manager response to this review. They already have my number and they know how to contact me. Food was ok so the rating is mainly for service and price for what you get. A combo is 17$ not including the sauce which they charge you an extra dollar for. I paid almost 40$ for 2 combos and 2 sauces. The 40$ is definitely not worth the experience, the service or the quality/ quantity of food so I'm wondering why they charge that much for the cheapest type of protein, slow service, and the audacity to charge a dollar for extra sauce (that wasn't even in the bag). I paid more for something that wasn't even included and they weren't taking any online orders at the time bc they were so backed up on orders that once I arrived they informed me that they were backed up and the wait time would be longer than expected. It was 90 degrees outside and a friend and I decided to get some hot chicken.. crazy right?! Clyde's is currently recommending take-out or their drive-thru as opposed to dine in, so we decided to walk in and grab our chicken to go. Otherwise, this location has a decent sized indoor and outdoor seating area. We ordered the "Clyde's Original" chicken sandwich ($8.99), 3 pieces of chicken strips ($11.99), and a side of waffle fries ($3.49). There are 5 levels of heat you can choose from: 1) Naked (which is no heat); 2) Original; 3) Hot as Cluck; 4) 1930!; and 5) Millionaire. We decided on 'Hot as Cluck' for both our chicken entrees. The customer service was standard and our order took about 10 minutes to be prepared. The food was good, but definitely not the best hot chicken I've ever had. The "Clyde's Original" was a standard chicken sandwich complete with a hot fried chicken breast, dill pickles, and coleslaw all atop of a brioche bun. It was pretty average and didn't have much heat in my opinion, but what I really enjoyed most was the chicken strips! The chicken strips were definitely spicy and I loved the lightly crisp and flavorful breading. I'd give Clyde's 3.75 Stars for the food, but rounding up to 4 Stars because I enjoyed the chicken strips. I also really liked the slice of white bread that came with the strips. The bread tasted more "artisan" as opposed to just a floppy piece of boring white bread. The fries were also good, but definitely best when enjoyed hot. While Clyde's is not a place I'd drive out of my way for, it's still a good place to grab some hot chicken if you find yourself in the Montclair area and craving it! read more

Went here on a dead hour and day...nobody in the line or eating inside. Ordered a baby portion of food for myself (6 piece nuggs and fries) and a breakfast burrito for my friend. Not only did I wait 20 minutes for 3 items. The lady who handed them out had the worst attitude. (Some older Latina lady) as far as the food - The chicken nuggets were very weird tasting...It tasted almost seasoned with sugar, they were very sweet and the consistency was chewy. The fries were cold and unsalted. Oh and btw I paid $25 total for the 3 items. Long story short drive the few extra minutes and get Canes if you want some chicken and fries. It'll be cheaper and way better tasting. Wouldn't be surprised if this business went out of order soon. read more
