Kale and Mushroom Rice Bowl + Espresso Martini
    Carmellina B.

Warm weekends called for outside dining, so we tried Egan & Sons in Montclair for the first time. The wait wasn't too long for how many parties were waiting to be seated outside. The outside area is very cute with some hanging lights hung around for when the sun beings to set. I ordered their vegan Kale and Mushroom rice bowl and I'm still amazed at how flavorful it was. All the veggies work so well together and was very filling. The espresso martini was just okay.

My colleagues and I go to Egan's as our go-to spot for drinks, and the service and vibes never disappoint. The staff are very attentive and nice, and the space is perfect for both casual hangouts and nice dinners.

Great vegan options and attentive staff :) cocktails are great and it can get a little crowded but generally the vibe is very cozy and I always love coming here

It's been a while since I found a spot with good vibes, great food, and the perfect setting to unwind after a long day. I came here with my coworkers after work, and the energy was just right. The maple buffalo wings were a standout, and the truffle mac and cheese with fried chicken was so good (I only wish it had been baked a little more and a bit less cheesy). The prosecco was exactly what I needed, and the staff was warm and welcoming. The space felt intimate, almost like hanging out with friends in my own backyard. We were lucky enough to snag an outdoor table, and it made the night even better!

Beautiful bar with a small parking lot in the rear. Well decorated during the holidays and the staff is always friendly and will not rush you. Wings are a must!

Egan & Sons is a fun bar to spend a weekday or weekend afternoon. The menu offers a lot of choices, and the atmosphere is laid back. There is a huge patio in the rear and a parking lot. We tried the muscles and fries - spot on. The salmon burger tasted delicious but was a tad messy; more than one napkin was needed. We absolutely loved the crispy chicken wings. We have eaten a lot of wings, and Egan & Sons serves some of the best we have tried! We will be back for the wings and will continue to explore the rest of the menu.

Great food, service, and ambiance, especially in the summer. It's one of my favorite go to places in Montclair.

This is always such a nice place to go to. My husband and I went on a week night early evening and it was bustling - as usual. We were so happy that Paul was there to make us our favorite drink- Luke's Nightmare. Paul always greets us with a smile. He always seems to know what's going on and is always willing to help the young recruits. Thank you Paul!!

Wild mushroom rice bowl (yummm!!) and a lavender/lemon non alcoholic spritzer

Finally made it here after wanting to go for years. And was not disappointed. Beautiful location and interior, lovely back patio. Yummy wild mushroom rice bowl and lavender/lemon non alcoholic beverage. Perfect for a sunny spring afternoon I can see why this place is perfect for friends to get together

Raw burger patty reserved after complaining that it was raw.
    Rishaan O.

I went to Egan & Sons and ordered a burger medium -- what I got was raw. I politely sent it back, only for them to return the same exact patty, just thrown back on the grill for a bit. Still raw. At that point, I was in disbelief. Not only was the food unsafe to eat, but the service and attitude from the staff made it clear they didn't care. I expected better from a place with their reputation. Definitely won't be coming back.

Fun Irish pub! Great for hanging out and watching games while grabbing a drink and bite to eat. Celebrating St. Pattys Day here is always fun as well. I like the outdoor area when the weather is nice. The food is good. I've enjoyed several different items including the cottage pie, variety of bar pies, burgers, and fries. Overall a nice chill atmosphere!

Jameson and I'm so sorry I can't remember the beer

Came here last year and had to come back again. Somehow we always end up getting there late night but it's never a problem. The vibe reminds me of a few bars from atl combined so I always feel a little at home here when we visit. We came again also because of how good the food was last time. The late night menu has expanded a bit from the previous year but we're not complaining. Last year we tried the sliders and the tacos and obviously it brought us back. This year we got the tacos again as well as the fish and chips. Everything was so hot and came up pretty quick. Tacos were as good as we remember if not better and the fish and chips was awesome really authentic I feel. The service was great as well we sat at the bar the previous year but it was full so we got a little table off to the side which was even better I feel. Awesome time as always, thanks again guys.

Nice outdoor. Plenty of shade. Been here a number of times. Appys are like mains and mains are mainly generous. IPA (a few on draft and GTI (go try it). Pot pie, Rice Bowl and a Cobb Salad. Reuben Toast appy. Good.

Even after we left and other people sat where we were, the dirty paper plates and napkins were still on the table. It took about 40 minutes for the burger. Fries were also ordered. They were thick and kind of dry even though they were covered in cheese. I would pass on those next time. The meat of the burger was pretty good. The cheese was melted on the bun, not the burger. They were busy and looked to have only 2 bartenders so there was some waiting for drinks etc.

The reason I give it 3 stars is because I don't think they've ever gotten my food order 100% right. They make a tasty burger, but they always forget at least one requested topping on the burger. The menu says "lettuce, tomato, and onion on request" and even though I always request all three, I never get all three. If I ask for a different kind of cheese, I get American anyway. A lot of the time my receipt will have all of my requests on it, but the burger doesn't match. Also, they seem to have downgraded their onion rings. The old ones were awesome and were a major selling point for me as an onion ring enjoyer. The new onion rings remind me of Burger King. Overall solid spot with a nice Irish pub vibe. Even tried to call ahead to double check we were still on for the evening. No answer. Called several times. Went to voice mail. Showed up. Not only was the woman I spoke to not there (like she said she would be to accommodate the party) no one on staff knew we were coming. We were told would could have one of the circular tables by the bar for our group (that seats 4 people). When the server told us the bar was still open the bar tender said she would only serve us one round and had to close. Totally missed opportunity for the staff to make money.
