An absolute favorite of mine. Staff and food are EXCELLENT!!! Unfortunately the fellow patrons leave alot to be desired. So what happened you ask??? TWO cases of HBB! (Hamptonites Behaving Badly) Incident #1 I arrive with my family and there is a wait of 15 mins per the very nice hostess who recommends we wait at the bar. They don't take reservations for a party of 3 (My only complaint about Edgewater but people probably screw them on reservations all the time so I don't blame them). A party of 4 shows up. Dressed very formal. Its a Birthday for his Mom, he is about 50, with wife and his Mom and Dad. They are 30 mins late on their reservation and lost their table. They are told the same as we were of the 15 min wait... This guy freaks out and ACTUALLY GOES TO PHYSICALLY STRIKE THE HOSTESS!!! Needless to say I had to put him down and convince him to behave himself. It was the behavior of a child you would expect at McD's for not getting a toy in their happy meal! Incident #2 My Parents took me here for Dinner again and we are seated promptly - a table over there is a couple, her parents, and their young child (maybe 2 or 3 years old). Suddenly, I hear it start... Clang clang clang. ClangClang Ca-clang...!!!! A fork, smacking against the side of a water glass! Its going over, and over, and did I say over??? So I figure - WOW that little baby can keep a beat like that??? TALENT?!?!? NO - It's DAD!!!!! Distracting the child? NOPE - Entertaining himself! Soooo... we asked the waitress to say something so she in turn told the Manager who then did nada as the beat rolled on. Needless to say the insanity halted after I had a brief word with the adults at the table who by the way felt that MY behavior was inappropriate! If they only knew! read more

God, do I love this place. We come here multiple times a year to celebrate birthdays. Huge menu, yet everything is delicious. The one place where everyone in the family gets appetizer, entree, and dessert. Drinks are awesome and strong. Waitstaff is always wonderful. You can wait a long time for your food because it gets super busy, but they keep the bread and drinks comin'. Love this place. read more

We have a lovely time at Edgewater. The place was very pretty, outside and in. The service was attentive without being annoying or making us feel rushed. They had a baked clam special that was excellent and the flounder and salmon were both very good as well. A great spot for a summer night on the water. read more

Just got back from L.I. Thought the Edge Water Restaurant was great. Owner knows what he/she is doing. Food for the kids and fancier food for the parents. Great attentive service. Nice sized cocktails. Fairly priced. Lively. Stuffed flounder great special. I'd definitely go back. read more

We were out riding the motorcycle in the hamptons and were looking for a good seafood restaurant. Well this is the place! I looked up the reviews on yelp first. Edgewater had 4.5 stars! This encouraged me to stop here. We were a little under dressed as the atmosphere is a little more dressy then casual. The waitress was very attentive and sweet. I ordered the Seafood Stuffed Flounder and my fiance had the Lobster pasta. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The stuffing was all seafood almost no breadcrumbs and the Lobster pasta had a full lobster in it ! I would travel out here from Babylon just to go to Edgewater again! read more

Always packed...Great sign that the food, quality and service is on the money. I try to have something new each time I dine overlooking Shinnecock Bay, great food, great sunsets on the deck. Love the local fish specials that are still wiggling on your plate...Just kidding. I am going to continue to eat here and tell any who asks...How's the food? Ya gotta try this place, you'll love it. read more

Another fabulous experience. We had dinner to celebrate my uncles 75th Birthday. I asked for his favorite table and they made it happen. The food and service is always top notch. read more

Delicious Seafood! Great view and good service. The lobster pasta and crab and avocado salad were delicious! I would definitely recommend trying those 2 dishes. read more

Yummy yummy food! Pistachio gnocchi was out of this world. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly and the shrimp oreganata was delish! Silly enough, the fingerling potatoes were out of this world too! We'll definitely be back!!! read more

Everyone in our party that ordered some type of chicken ended up violently ill. Luckily for me, I ordered the steak. It was okay at best. Very limited beer selection. The garlic knots are delicious though, and a great view. The only 2 positives of the night read more

Outstanding food and service. Prices reasonable (for the Hamptons) and great water view. Off street parking. Make a reservation. You won't be disappointed. read more

Excellent food & service. We went for a late dinner so couldn't enjoy the views. All the following were delicious: Lobster pasta Wild mushroom pasta Garlic bread rolls Toasted almond cake read more

We went there last Saturday night. We were able to get a table around 9pm with only about 1/2 hour wait which was nice. My wife ordered the Cod which was ok. I ordered the Halibut special and had to return it as is was rubbery as if it was reheated for a while. Service was below average. Seems like the waiter had some friends sitting at a table next to ours and dedicated most of his attention to them. Our table was also across from the kitchen and was able to see him on his cell texting most of the time as he left us waiting. I would say the food was decent but the service was lacking. read more

I recently held a private event at Edgewater and due to many last minute cancellations the number of people I expected did not show up. This did not phase John in the least. He and his staff went above and beyond for me, even helping me with technical issues with my computer and power point presentation. As always, the food was excellent. I couldn't recommend this restaurant any more than I always do. They are the best! read more

Okay, it's been a whole season since I have had the flounder sandwich and salads, here but this is the best kept Hampton secret. If you ever get near this place, you don't wanna go without trying something here. Everything is amazing. In the summer it's a great atmosphere, lots of locals know about the Edge Water-but it's our little secret. Don't tell a soul. read more

I have visited Edgewater several times this summer. The food, service and atmosphere are top notch. Their 2 for 1 specials on Tuesday and Wednesday are not only great value, but offer a wide selection of entrees to choose from. They do a great job with salmon, chicken, linguini with red or white clam, and too many others to list. Salads are big enough to share, and there are excellent appetizers and smaller plates. Soups are excellent. Outside dining is terrific when the weather permits. My new favorite place! read more

This is the way I enjoy eating really clean food fresh simple ingredients well put together. Usually the specials or of a local fish and the meat specials are really well prepared. Always a pleasant experience I went twice this weekend. read more

Excellent food and great views of the bay. My kids loved sitting up by the fish tank. Everything we ate was absolutely delish. Highly recommend. read more

A wonderful restaurant with tasty dishes.. A Hampton winner, don't past it up !

The worst Tuna meal cooked Raw! I asked for medium and twice sent back. Even my husband veal meal came out cold, cheese not even melted. Such a disappointment. During season and holiday AVOID this place!!! read more

Pistachio Gnocci, Crab cakes, striped bass entree, scallops entree, and the rib eye steak were all very good. I would not recommend the stuffed flounder or the crusted cod. read more

If you asked me before tonight which restaurant was my favorite in Hampton Bays, Edgewater would be close to the top of the list. I went here a couple weeks ago with my family and fiancé to celebrate our recent engagement. We've been coming to Edgewater for many years and have ALWAYS had a delicious meal. Tonight it was truly sub par. For example the pizza looked like it had sat under a warming light for some time. The appetizers were a bit off, for example the fried mozzarella was placed on fresh mozzarella. Anyways, usually we're all raving about our food afterwards but not on this particular night. We hadn't been since last summer so perhaps there is a new chef or management. read more

I was staying in Hampton bay with my friend and we heard that Edgewater was a good restaurant. Good does not describe it . If I could give it 10 stars I would . I would have to say that this is the best Italian restaurant on Long Island ! Bravo to the owner and staff ! Job well done !!!! read more

My boyfriend and I went to dinner here on Sunday on our way back from the vineyards and we loved it! We ordered the pear gorgonzola salad as an appetizer which was great. For my entree, I got the stuffed flounder. My boyfriend got an awesome pasta dish that came with meat sauce. We both ordered speciality cocktails that tasted delicious and even ordered dessert. The espresso creme brûlée was amazing and I usually do not like creme brûlée. The lava cake was great too. Overall, we really enjoyed this restaurant, from the food to the view and the staff this place a great find. read more

Let me preface this with the comment that initially the food and service was good. This place was highly recommended by my husband's coworker rather than Cowfish. However after an incident that occurred tonight as we celebrated my birthday I am deeply disappointed in the management and staff. Here's the backstory - Two waiters walked by our outside table, one was carrying a large tray held up high containing another table's meals. As he walked by, the steak knife that was on the tray flew off, hit me on the back of the head, skimmed the side of my face and bounced off my shoulder. I caught the knife in my hand before it hit the table and handed it to the waiter . The waiter did not say anything, the second waiter said sorry and walked away. NOTHING ELSE. Our waitress came over and had not realized anything had occurred, we told her, she says she will take care of it. She comes back with our bill and says she's sorry and that she took off our two drinks and two desserts off the bill. What a low level response to a potential disaster. If my steak is not what I ordered or you took too long to serve my food - that's what you do, comp some drinks and dessert. If a flying steak knife hits a customer in the head - you call your manager who comes out and apologizes for the incident and his staff and figures out how to make sure that never happens again. I don't need a free meal but what should have been done was some sort of management response that went beyond comped drinks and desserts. read more

Ahhh my family and I LOVE this place. It's not the cheapest spot in town, but the food is amazing.

This restaurant is outstanding!!! Fantastic food, the service was on point and great recommendations. Words can't explain the ambiance and the people that frequent are so friendly. Sheila was my favorite, she put a smile on my face when I walked in and made sure it stayed until I walked out. read more

Edgewater never disappoints! The food always has great flavor and is amazing. A go to place. Suggestions? Literally anything on the menu.

Love Edgewater. Our family does all birthday dinners here. The food is always delicious and served in a reasonable amount of time. LOVE the chicken penne alfredo. The views are amazing as well! read more

Great service but food lacks presentation although its delicious its not outstanding and cocktails are ok.

Two of us dined at Edgewater a couple years back with a restaurant.com giftcard (for RW, no less) & emerged pretty satisfied with the meal. It seemed, even then, like one of those randomly located establishments with not much patronage that causes you to wonder how exactly they stayed afloat. read more

Very good food, beautiful views and venue, excellent service, fair prices...what more can I say! The two for one menu on Tuesday/Wednesday is a real good value. read more

Nice place. Good vibe. Good food. Generous bar drinks. Friendly staff. I will be back.

This was by far the best place we ate at during our trip to Montauk last month! Both my date and I cleaned our plates and thoroughly enjoyed our food. The presentation was excellent and service was solid. We had the scallop special which was amazing and stuffed flounder. Everything look so good it was hard to narrow down our choices! I'd absolutely come back when we venture out to the island again. read more

Came here for dinner the other night for date night it was my first time here my bf has been here twice before but some time ago. The staff was very friendly checked on us enough times it was a hot day and it wasn't very cool inside where we ate that is probably my only complaint seeing as how I am pregnant I was hoping inside would have been kept cooler. We ordered two starters the calamari which was good but kind of small I have had bigger calamari and paid less but still tasted good and so did the sauces that came with it and we tried the Gnocchi in pistachio sauce which we should have thought better about because it was very warm and made it warmer it was okay didn't taste like pistachio but was still good. I then got the 16oz ribeye with fries the steak was cooked perfect and delicious but my eyes are bigger then my stomach and didn't realize how big 16 oz was lol so ate half and took home the rest which was still delicious the next day. My bf had the Grilled Filet Mignon Au Poivre which I tried some and he will agree was delicious again cooked perfect and tasted great an because its date night even though I couldn't finish the entree we decided to order the white chocolate bread pudding which we both thought was very good over all the food was good I may go back but I am looking to be wowed and I wasn't I guess I am looking for more creative menu choices but if your looking for a perfectly cooked meal this is def a place to try. read more

As I am typing I am writing the review here at Edgewater. It was way too loud for a pleasant dinner. The two male waiters were so rude probably because we were the only Asian couple. The food was greasy and salty. Absolutely not coming back! read more

This place is a hidden gem!! Its such a perfect Hamptons Restaurant! The food here is amazing! My favorite was the penne vodka and thin crust pizza. The taste is very flavorful and the pasta was cooked well. Our drinks were on the strong side ( we got raspberry cosmo ), i couldn't finish it. There menu has lots of different options and regular Italian food. We also got chicken parm and that was delish also. It was three of us and we split everything & still had left over.. Will be back next summer when im back in the Hamptons!!! read more

Enjoyed a meal here last night with a large group. They have a great selection of options and very good service. Oyster appetizer was great!! read more

Went here with a big group. Made reservations 2 months in advanced and they tried to sit us at two different tables initially. They got us a table all together. The food was pretty good! I had the seared tuna with asparagus. The only other thing that really bothered me was that my friend ordered oysters and she has Celiac disease. We made sure the waitress knew this before she ordered and the waitress even told us that a few people on staff are gluten free and everything would be fine. Well the oysters came out and there was bread on top of them. My friend kindly explained to the man who brought it out that she couldn't eat it because of her disease and that the contamination would kill her - she still wanted it and he said he would have another one right out. Well no one ever brought anything else out and the waitress basically avoided us the rest of the night until it was time to pay the bill. No apology, no comped drink (we didn't need anything free but it would have been a nice gesture) or anything. We said something at the end to her and she apologized but it was really weird how they handled it. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in the Hamptons. Looking over the Shinnecock Bay you can't go wrong here. Beautiful view, great atmosphere, very nice wait staff. The food is FANTASTIC! I highly recommend the pistachio gnocchi. Great menu, something for everyone. If you are in the Hamptons make sure you go here! read more
