This is a very popular restaurant that features seafood with an Italian accent. Its popularity is well deserved, as the food is delicious. However, I took off one of what would have been five stars because no bread is presented at the table while the menu is explored. When I got the attention of a waitress, and asked for a basket of bread, I was told that they no longer serve bread before the meal. But if I wanted, I could pay $4.00 for some focaccia--4 pieces, to be precise. For a restaurant at this price level to be chintzy about bread was a real turn-off for me. read more

This is my favorite place to eat in the area. I make the drive from Center Moriches quite a bit for my Edgewater fix. Relaxed atmosphere and always a great crowd. Great and scenic restaurant to either grab a few drinks (with great bartenders) or a sit down for a classy dinner (with great service). I've tried every App/Entree and a few of the pastas. Everything is amazing but I posted a few of my favorites here: I recommend: Apps Fried Calamari (with an awesome pesto aoli) Mussels Char Broiled Oysters Entrees 16 Oz. Rib-eye Steak (ridiculous) Veal Milanese Shrimp Oreganata & Risotto Meatballs (might only be a special) Pasta Lobster Pasta Linguinette Clam Sauce read more

Went there for my bf's birthday with some friends. Loved it! For appetizers we got the meatballs with mozzarella , crab cakes, risotto with shrimp, and calamari. My favorite app were the meatballs and mozz. The fresh mozz had ricotta in it too I think....soooooo good! I normally would never get meatballs as an appetizer. I'm Italian and only eat my moms meatballs as a rule! We will def get it next time we are there, they were THAT good! For dinner I got the seared tuna with risotto. Absolutely excellent. My bf got the veal saltimbocca. He said it was amazing as well. The service was great and the coconut martini was perfection! Awesome night! Thank you! read more

This is an update of our previous review of Edgewater Restaurant in Hampton Bays. We have had four dinners at Edgewater since Labor Day and are pleased to report that the restaurant has maintained its high culinary standards and extraordinarily gracious and welcoming service. The pasta dishes at Edgewater are excellent. Our recent dinners have been highlighted by rich and flavorful short rib specials, served over pasta or with risotto and a perfectly prepared Orecchiette with Broccoli Rabe and Sausage. Seafood dishes have been superb - with pristine local flounder, seared yellow fin tuna and roasted salmon demonstrating the kitchen's adroit handling of fish. The appetizers at Edgewater are uniformly excellent - jumbo lump crab cakes, fregola with broccoli rabe and pancetta and meatballs with burrata are standouts. Diners should be aware that the appetizer portions are quite generous. The pizzas at Edgewater are delicious. We love the classic Tomato & Basil pizza and and the unique and aromatic Broccoli Rabe & Chicken Meatball pizza. Any review of Edgewater which does not recognize the restaurant's commitment to hospitality would be remiss. From the delightful host, Nicole, to a professional and warm service staff (Chrissy, Chris, Crystal, Julio and Melissa), Edgewater makes its guests feel welcome. With the crush of the summer season over, the restaurant remains quite busy. We are pleased that this family owned restaurant and its hard working team continues to be recognized by its local customers for its commitment to excellence. read more

Great pasta and pizza. Would have been great if they gave us utensils and plates for takeout. It's pretty busy and has a great view of the bay, we didn't have enough time to actually sit in the restaurant. Centrally located and has ample parking. read more

Wow! What a wonderful atmosphere with a nice view! We came for brunch and it was delicious. Not only was the food a solid 10 but our service was too. Shaun E took great care of us! He was the perfect amount of attentive and not only that, but he had phenomenal manners. Thanks Edgewater for a great brunch! My advice is if you like a quiet, peaceful, brunch: go before noon - not many people are around to eat. But if you don't care and prefer to be surrounded by more people, go after 12pm! Either way, it's all great! Oh, and get the tartufo for dessert! read more

Excellent food. Good staff. I wish this place had more seating. It fills fast , go early

I tried this place several times and was always disappointed. The service is good and they can turn over the tables but they do so with lackluster food. The pizza crust tasted like cardboard, calamari was greasy and the main course were completely forgettable. read more

My husband and I were super excited to visit Edgewater as our first trip out to eat since COVID-19 started! There was outdoor sitting which was awesome, but, we were seated in the grass which was wet, odorous, and muddy. It was not the best location to be sat and I thought I was going to slip as we were walked to the table! For appetizers we ordered the calamari and the crab cakes. Both of these appetizers were SO delicious and we would happily eat them again. But, we were unfortunately disappointed with our entrees. I ordered the lobster pasta (which seems to be the most popular dish on Yelp) and my husband got the chicken parmigiana. The lobster in my pasta was pretty sub par and the mushrooms were really not good. Even the pasta sauce itself was lacking good flavor, I definitely would not order this dish again. The chicken parmigiana was better than the lobster pasta, but we have definitely had better. We were a little disappointed in the atmosphere and the entrees we ate at Edgewater, but I will say, the appetizers were great! read more

A reliable, bit more formal dinner spot. The deck offers a nice view of the Bay across the street, but the interior seating is very comfortable as well. The bartender does not skimp on the drinks. The place has the feel of an established restaurant, which I'm sure has a regular following. The fried ravioli was simple, but good. Crab and corn salad was a little heavy on the corn and just a hair light on the crab, but still delish. The Lobster Pasta was the best dish and well stocked with big succulent claw meat. This place is a favorite of my father's and I can see why. read more

Went here with my family to celebrate! Things I liked: The calamari with spicy tomato and basil aioli dipping sauces The crab bisque The burrata with meatballs My only critique was the eggplant caponata on the Burrata & Bresaola salad - it tasted sweet like they'd used sugar or perhaps it was past its prime. One would think that a dish that is primarily made up of olives would be somewhat salty...it wasn't but instead had a sickening sweet flavor. I know they wouldn't intentionally serve soured food but the caponata was inedible - not wanting to be a fussy diner I just pushed it to the side of my plate and ate the rest of the plate which was delicious! Excellent service all around and my family enjoyed their mains as well. read more

Great place, excellent food and portions. Our server was absolutely awesome and we always had our water bottle replenished as soon as it ran low. My one and only complaint (and I've eaten here many times with zero complaints) is I ordered my filet mignon medium--sadly, it came absolutely rare. I did not want to make my other guests wait so I took it as it was. Otherwise a consistently good quality place. read more

After a fabulous day at a Hampton ocean beach, what could be better? Well the Edgewater restaurant surely rivaled the day at the beach. After not being able to secure a reservation at several other local eateries, we tried this bayside restaurant. Our party of 5 was warmly greeted by the hostess and was told she could accommodate us in 20 minutes. So we ordered a bottle of wine and sat on the deck to watch the sun set over the shinnecock bay. True to form 20 minutes later we were seated al fresco. My guest dinned on expertly prepared cuisine. Two of the dishes were gnocchi w pistachio sauce and grilled local tuna. The Edgewater definitely exceeded all my expectations on this very busy evening. The staff was knowledgable and courteous. A special thanks to Chrissy our server and Nicole the hostess, who helped make this nite a memorable one. read more

A must visit to this Hampton Bays elevated restaurant on Montauk Highway across from Shinnecock Bay. Enjoy the sunset and view and while the place is known for Italian it has plenty of delicious options. The staff is engaging and is always happy to see people enjoying their food and restaurant. Not only is this place a Hampton Bays classic, they are civically involved with sponsoring a spaghetti lunch/dinner fundraiser. Kudos to Edgewater for cooking and making things right for everyone! read more

This really should be a 3.5 star review. For starters this is a great find, the price is right and the food and service is solid. Unlike other Hamptons spots this place doesn't try to be more than it is. The result is it's always jumping with a good crowd. The service was solid for how busy it was. I highly recommend the broiled oysters they are out of this world!!! Pasta and salad were good as well. Unfortunately, the veal saltimbiocca we had was largely unedible. It was chewy like gum and tasted like gum. They served it in some sugary syrup base that tasted gross. That being said I would go back here and hope it was just a miss on the veal. Without the veal this would be 4 star review. read more

The food was tasty. The server seemed tired and frustrated that we were there. That was unfortunate since it was a special family dinner for my parents' 53rd wedding anniversary. The only reservation we could get was 8:30pm. I wouldn't recommend going this late if you want good service. read more
