I have been here for Hibachi AND have gotten take-out sushi, so I'll write about both. Both were amazing! I would like to say boyfriend and I live in Watertown and have traveled all the way to Framingham for hibachi before because frankly I love it! Dinner and a show-how could you go wrong?! Hibachi-we went on the first Friday night they were open. Not only were they busy, but we were the only one's at our table. I thought 'crud...we're gonna have to wait a while now'. NOT SO! They got us drinks fairly quickly, and when no one else came, boyfriend and i had the table to ourselves! The chef was still very engaging, considering only 2 people were at this big table. I have been at much less exciting 'hibachi shows' when the whole table was full! I enjoyed their menu a whole lot-not just 'chicken, steak, or shrimp' as choices! I had a chicken/calamari mix and loved it. The miso soup and the salad was nom as well. A week or so later, we ordered some sushi to go. It was fast, it was delicious, and my favorite part was that they separated the wasabi and the pickled ginger from the sushi containers! Wasabi and ginger in one container, sushi in the other container. I HATE when my sushi has been marinating in the pickled ginger juice, but had basically decided it was just one of those things that happens with sushi and that you just suck it up and eat it. But at this place, I don't have to. PERFECT! Boyfriend goes to Forever Fit (the gym next door) and I think he enjoys having a place where he can grab a drink and decompress after working out (between me, 2 dogs, and a cat in the house....he deserves a quiet drink a few times a week!). First time here and I loved it!! Had 2 different hibachi , sea bass, sushi and drinks . Chef put on a show and is fun loving really knows his stuff !! Food is delicious and cooked perfectly right in front of you perfectly & creatively !!! I recommend Fuji hibachi and shogun . The sushi is fresh and tasty perfect portion size. The menus are creative and colorful with a perfect set up. The sea bass is flaky and prepared excellently !! Try the drinks especially the Japanese soda!! We went here for dinner and thought the food was pretty good, but nothing that blew us away. The sushi was pretty solid, especially the spider roll. But the other sushi and the chicken katsu was pretty average. The waitress we had basically ignored us the entire time and didnt smile once, but I guess she was just having a bad night. We just did the regular dinner, but the hibachi did look pretty good. We ordered a shumai appetizer, bento box and shrimp yakisoba. The shumai appetizer tasted like it was warmed up in a microwave. We bought a similar package from h-mart the next day. The miso soup and "salad" (some lettuce and orange chunky sauce drizzled over it) came before the meal and was subpar. They got my order wrong and brought sashimi instead of sushi. The beef teriyaki was mostly raw. The shrimp yakisoba had a very strong apple taste to it and a minimum amount of shrimp with the tail shells still attached. For dessert we got the fried cheesecake. On the outside it was good but the inner/center parts were completely frozen. It was like it just came from the freezer. The waiter didn't seem knowledgeable with the menu. Never checked on us if we enjoyed the food or for any drink refills. We were missing chopsticks and had to grab some from another table. I really don't understand how this restaurant has 4.5 stars. I got sick here tonight and I wouldn't be surprised if the food was to blame. I made a reservation for 8, but when we arrived the hosts was not paying attention. After a few minutes she turned to me and I tried to tall to her about my reservation. Then a manager came over and used the register with us just standing there waiting for help. After 10 minutes of being ignored, the hostess is finally ready to pay attention. She has lost my reservation but told me it would be a very sorry wait for only 2 people. She seemed very confused. Sat other groups before us and couldn't remember the order people came in. We were finally seated by 8:40. The waitress was in a bad mood and she kept bringing 8 dishes of starters despite there being 9 people at the table. Orders were mixed up very frequently and none of the staff really understood how to do their jobs. As for the food, everything was weird. It was not at all what I expected from hibachi. The seasonings were lacking and everything had a char. I can't say I enjoyed anything. Some of the flavors were okay even if they were not traditional, but that was over shadowed by the tough, low quality steak, chewy scallops, rubbery shrimp, and tough lobster. This place is always a treat. I first went to this restaurant for the Hibachi, which is always fun, entertaining, and delicious. The chef's there are great and the dinner is more than satisfying. Great for groups. Now that I am more of a regular I frequent here for the sushi, specifically the makimono (rolled sushi). I'm an amatuer but I really enjoy it. I don't venture far from tuna but there is literally something for every sushi fan on the menu. My favorites are the Spicy-Crunchy Tuna and the Sweet Potato roll. read more

I live/work around the corner from Edamame and only until recently did I have a problem. I ordered the Edamame Bento Special box for dinner one night and it looked as average as it always does. Nothing tasted off and I ate my dinner. The meal is large and so I kept half for the next day. Unfortunately about 2 hours later I became violently ill from the food. I called the restaurant the next day, being very nice, to let them know I got food poisoning and asked for a refund of my money. I spoke with someone who definitely didn't speak/understand English well and he kept telling me he needed proof for his insurance company that I got sick. I asked him what he meant and he kept saying I couldn't have a refund he needed proof. Short of my coming into the restaurant and becoming violently ill in front of him I am not sure what proof this gentleman wanted. I ended up having to escalate the issue to my credit card company to dispute the transaction. I may go back to Edamame but I will be waiting a good long while before I am not extremely wary of their food. Consume with caution. read more

Friday night was very busy. It took a few minutes for someone to greet me. Eventually I had to call attention to someone that asked if I can seat myself at an empty table, which they said they needed to clean. It took another 10 minutes for someone to see me waiting and come by and take my order. It was very busy, but it was still aggravating. Had fried oysters which was good and spicy tuna sandwich roll (forgot the actual name). It didn't taste like the usual spicy tuna that I've had. It wasn't bad, but it didn't taste like raw fish. First Uber Eats experience on a lazy Sunday and this place hit the spot. So many options from Sushi to hibachi to your usual Chinese food favorites. This place packed everything up so official with top-notch containers for everything and didnt forget a thing. Overall, I felt that the service was horrible. If I could give 2.5 stars, I would. We came on a Sunday night, not too busy. I asked for a pina colada with liquor when asked if I wanted it to be virgin or not. I then got a virgin pina colada, couldn't taste the rum. The waitress seemed pretty annoyed when I asked if the drink had rum or not and she right away asked if we knew what we wanted to order. The sushi was just ok. I found it difficult to get her attention for things that we wanted. We later had to ask for our table to be cleared of empty dishes and glasses, which didn't happen despite us ordering another round of drinks. We left and those empty glasses remained on our table....Maybe our order of 2 sushi rolls and 2 drinks wasn't worth the customer service we deserved. I doubt that we'll be back. read more

I LOVE Edamame. My friend and I always get together here. They ALWAYS have a Groupon($18 for $30). I like the location, as it's really easy to get to, and easy to find parking. It has a trendy, updated atmosphere inside. They have a good menu, but not overwhelmed by all of the choices. The adult beverages are very reasonably priced as well. They have great special rolls, that are really unique and tasty. We always get seated right away-- have never had to wait. The food comes out really quick as well. They have hibachi which looks really good too--I haven't done it, but there's usually a few tables. I highly recommend, a great spot for a weeknight date or to catch up with friends!! read more

The other night I came in and ordered some take out and while I was waiting I decided to get a drink. Well it was my night! They had this awesome guy Matt who was making these awesome new signature drinks (on the house might I add!). The Dragon wife and the Dragon Husband. Amazing. Their staff is super friendly and very attentive. The hibachi is SO much fun. I was a little reluctant at first. I'm an introvert. I generally want to just eat in peace, but I'm glad my BF convinced me to do the whole hibachi experience. It doesn't take much to impress me when it comes to service. Just a smile and a universal agreement that I'm there to eat, it's your place and so you serve the food. If I could, I'd go get the water for myself or submit our food orders to the kitchen ourselves but I can't so that's your role. Oh, and an occasional smile and eye-contact also helps. Don't expect any of that here, though. The guys who man the hibachi are the only saving grace but even they barely muster the requisite charm to keep my son liking this place. Sorry to say it but the management is just plain miserable and that trickles down all the way to to the bottom of the payroll. Today, the daughter of the owners was running the show and she was perhaps the worst server i've ever had. Every one of our party of 10+ people had their own disappointing moments so it's not just me noticing it. She disappeared for long stretches, we had to flag her down with non-discrete waving across the restaurant, no water for our party of 11, ordered items never came and when we reminded her, she was barely apologetic. Listen, the food is decent and the concept is novel but for such horrible service, this place has no business staying in business. For big parties like ours, tips are included in the bill, surprise surprise. Save your self-respect and go to Bisuteki on Memorial Drive -or just about any other place within a 5-mile radius that would be happy to take your money realizing that consumers have options and that restaurants actually need return-customers to survive. It is a bit off putting to think about getting a good sushi player from a strip mall but in Watertown this is one to surprise and delight. With easy access parking for a perk ( and free) it is quite the place. Not only can you find many delightful varieties of rolls ( my favorite was the spicy tuna) but it your fancy so wishes you can have a hibachi style meal prepared in front of you by a talented chef. Easy to get to, not overly crowded and an enjoyable ambiance. I was happy with my meal and I only had to travel 1 mile from home to get it! I don't eat sushi, so I should never have been here! I had it confused with another sushi restaurant (for my husband) that serves good food alternatives. I had tempura, fried calamari, steak teriyaki, all mediocre at best. Calamari was cold and greasy. Tempura was mushy. Teriyake was unremarkable. Hibachi bar might be good. We didn't have that. The waiter does juggling of utensils and that sort of thing if you like a raucous good time with young people. Not my cup of tea! read more

I did not come here for the commonly misnamed "hibachi" that takes place here although I'm sure that's a great experience in itself. I came to eat maki and various sushi creations. I tried their sushi sandwich and sashimi sampler. The sashimi came in a beautiful little bowl of ice with protruding sticks and pieces of lemon to add to the "fresh image." Fish included was salmon, tuna, and whitefish, which tasted very fresh. The sushi sandwiches were not as great as some that I have had in the past but were still very tasty. Pretty hard to handle the big pieces but it's worth the effort from plate-to-mouth! (It is basically sandwich shaped sushi rice with spicy mayo and tuna inside. 4 pretty large pieces arranged in pyramid style) After eating this I realized I had not eaten any maki so I ordered a spicy tuna maki roll to bring my oriental expedition to a close. read more

After many wonderful experiences with Edamme, I just have to write a review. I have ordered remotely using Foodler and also been to their restaurant. They are very good about following special instructions when ordering through Foodler. So impressed with the quality of fish and ingredients relative to the pricing. I highly, highly recommend ordering your sushi through them when you are in the area. I have newly adopted a Keto lifestyle. I added special instructions to my order of three makimono asking them to wrap it in seaweed or cucumber (naruto) since I can not have rice on my new diet. A gentleman from the restaurant called me to warn me that while they are happy to accomodate my dietary restrictions, it would cost extra. I really appreciate the phone call where I was able to provide my credit card information rather than be blind-sided with an extra charge during delivery when I did not have cash on hand!! Having my sushi wrapped in cucumber added a whopping ~$4 to each roll, but I guess that's what I get for eating Keto with sushi! Give them your business!! So happy to have found them. I've gone here for years and it's always been great. I take friends and even hosted a holiday party with 10 people once. Tonight I had steak hibachi and the steak was inedible. I didn't eat it and the two bites I did eat I had to spit up in my napkin. When I expressed my displeasure I was met with staff that was not appreciative of my concerns and really did not appreciate my business. I've never been to a restaurant that wouldn't accommodate a customer who wasn't pleased and that was the case. I will not be going back. read more
