We had reservations at The Stockyard for Easter dinner. The staff greeting us were very friendly and had their bunny ears on. I love fun people. We decided to sit at the bar rather than our reserved table as we enjoy sitting with the bartenders. We chose the smaller, more intimate bar. Well, our bartender, Mark, did not disappoint. He has such an amazing personality and makes the best cocktails. He was so accommodating and made our Easter dinner memorable. I hope the next time we go for dinner there, Mark is working. He is made for that job. We started with the oysters. The frozen ice the condiments come in are really a nice addition as well as the super cold plate the oysters were served on. We split the Tomahawk steak and our sides were the asparagus and loaded mashed potatoes. So delicious. Their own steak sauce is really very good. Not overpowering, just right. I had a pomegranate martini, which was perfectly crafted, thanks Mark! On our way out we forgot something at the bar, Mark came out to the parking lot, found us and made sure we left with it. You are lucky to have such a dedicated employee.

Amazing vibes but a bit overpriced for what it is. We got the tomahawk steak with two sides but the sides were really small - we got the Mac n cheese and asparagus

Family staple. Get the Ribeye or Filet. Oysters and Cajun shrimp. Lamb chops if they're in special are excellent. For dessert chocolate cake or waffle bread pudding.

This makes me really sad to write because this restaurant has been a staple in my husband and I's life but there's something about the restaurant that's gone down hill. Drinks are still good, but the food is just not the same quality that it used to be. We'll continue to go because of its close proximity and the cozy vibe inside, but I'm hoping for a better meal in the future!

ambiance is southern. our server Samantha was fantastic. food is ok. our plates sat idle in the kitchen for awhile. everyone's food came out cold. the juices from the steaks was on the plates. i got the prime rib, asked for medium rare. it came out medium. glad to have tried.

In town for some good steak and saw some good recommendations for this place and there we went, someone mentioned the union soup was not to miss so i tired it. I'll pass on that next time. Came here for the tomahawk and it didn't disappoint. Everything else from the sides and clam chowder was just ok. What made it for everything else was the service. Our waiter was very attentive and accommodating, (well deserved tip). We also did not make reservations and were seated without much wait to a packed restaurant with 90 mins before closing.

The Stockyard keeps going to the bitter end! First, great parking lot. It's huge. It also feels quieter, and belies how close you are to Boston. The restaurant is also huge, I think I counted three dining rooms and a huge bar. I got there on the later side, and even as people were slowly filing out the servers kept going with food and drinks. Fantastic staff! The portions were huge. My burger was delicious and well seasoned. The fries were a bit of a mix in crisp, but if I lived in the area it would have been enough for lunch the next day.

My wife surprised me with a special celebration meal here! I'd been craving my first Tomahawk steak for two years, and this place delivered a magnificent 32-ounce, 42-day aged masterpiece. It wasn't the cheapest, but absolutely worth every penny! I paired it with grilled asparagus, a baked potato, and plenty of béarnaise sauce--pure heaven! The Tomahawk arrived pre-sliced, which isn't usually my preference, but after the first bite, I didn't care one bit. It was simply FANTASTIC. We started with a delicious shrimp cocktail with plump, juicy shrimp, and shared a classic wedge salad. And of course, the cocktails, wine, and beer were perfect. I always have high expectations here, especially for the food, drinks, and service. The serving staff, especially the bartender, was exceptional! We love sitting at the bar when it's just the two or three of us. The servers were all friendly, engaging, and a joy to chat with. We came early on a Friday evening and got to witness the restaurant fill up, watching a smoothly operating team spring into action. I always feel so happy and relaxed here, whether it's just us or when we bring guests. The warm, dark wood ambiance, the pleasant background music, and the lively atmosphere of people enjoying themselves--it's all wonderful. There's a reason this is one of our favorite spots, whether it's for a quick appetizer and drinks or a full-blown dinner with a group. Relax and let these fantastic folks treat you to a truly delicious experience. .

My meat was overly charred, but my partner insists it was my fault because I didn't agree to it being butterflied as the waiter suggested. Truffle fries were excellent- with the contrast of Parmesan shaved on top. I almost forgot that we got the oyster appetizer, which was delicious- big fresh oysters.

Post-COVID, life looks a little different. I've changed jobs and moved to another town, so it's no longer the easy drop-in it once was. Still, I make a point to come back at least every few months. What hasn't changed is the consistency. This remains one of the most reliably excellent restaurants in the Boston area, and still one of my all-time top five--while others that once held that spot haven't quite held up. One thing has changed, though: the Ghost of Mary. Scotty, the former bar manager, created what's still my favorite cocktail of all time. When he left, the drink left with him (by mutual agreement), and while he generously shared the recipe with me, I've never quite managed to recreate it at home. It was clearly meant to be made by the expert. That said, Sycamore hasn't missed a beat. The space is still as comfortable and quirky as ever, the food remains consistently excellent, and the current bar program is in very capable hands. The cocktails are thoughtful and well-executed--just maybe don't remind me about the one I'm missing

From the Managers greeting to the service, and atomosphere, Sycamore sure knows how to make customers feel seen and heard and their bellies happy :) We came here after attending a wine tasting not far from here and were able to grab some bar seats. They have a great cocktail and wine list; I always have a hard time choosing just one. I went with a vodka drink called Nothing Rhymes Orange and my husband had a beer. Since we were not that hungry he ordered the Chorizo Croquettas and I had my favorite salad in the world (not kidding) their Kale Salad. Let me just tell you 1. if you don't like kale, you will love this salad. Just the way they make it and the flavors/crunch will make your mouth water 2. you will eat the whole thing. 3. trust me. If there is one app that you need to order its the chorizo croquettas, OMG. They are like little small drops of heaven and there are only 3 so if you plan to share I would recommend ordering more than just one. For dessert, we ordered an Espresso Martini. The only thing that was missing is the coffee beans but still good. Thanks Sycamore for another fabulous dinner and evening. Thanks Kale Salad for being the best ever. The interior was dimly lit with exposed brick walls and sports on the TV screens. For drinks, I chose the 1, 2, 3, 4 mocktail. This was one of the best mocktails of my life! The refreshing early grey really balanced out the tangy mango cold foam with tajin. They had a substantial non-alc and low ABV menu, which I love to see. For food, we ordered a bunch of plates to eat family-style. Our server had recommended the Pickled Mushrooms, which I thought were just alright. My favorite item was the Burrata with gooseberries, and the Caramelized Onion Dip was pretty good, as well. I was really unimpressed with the Fried Polenta, which had the skimpiest topping of braised short ribs. Service was good overall, but our drinks kept getting bussed before we were finished with them, which was unfortunate. Overall though, a good experience!

As an extra touch, Chef Steve came out to our table to chat and describe a few of the dishes, which made the experience feel personal. Food highlights: * Firecracker tofu - perfectly fried cubes tossed in a hot-sweet Korean-style sauce; addictive. * Grilled broccoli - smoky, well-seasoned * Butternut squash soup - smooth and flavorful, elevated by roasted, ground squash seeds and a subtle curry note. * Polenta with short ribs - rich and balanced. * Smoked bluefish pâté - excellent texture though a little salty for my taste. Drinks: * Also Fancy - bright and fruity, but not overly sweet. * St. Peter's Bay - think mezcal meets Old Fashioned. * Bonus points: I asked for a custom gin gimlet, and the bartender delivered a fresh, mint-forward version that was amazing. Tall Order is a great neighborhood spot that's doing everything right. We'll absolutely be back.
