I recently moved into a new home and needed the locks re-keyed. Nathan arrived promptly and worked quickly. He made suggestions for improvements like adding a deadbolt to the front door and re-keying the locks so fewer keys would be needed (originally there were three keys and he was able to re-key the locks so I would only need two keys. I know it doesn't sound like much, but reducing any amount of the keys I have on my key ring is wonderful). He was also great about wearing a mask the entire time. read more

When you call locksmiths to see who can come, it's an emergency and only he answers. After getting pizza and buckling our son up, my husband closed the door then noticed our son had the keys! My stomach dropped when I tried to open the door and it was locked! We immediately started calling around and I was just shy of breaking my window until he answers and says he can come in 15 mins! It's a cool night, we were right there with our son in the parking garage, but I was seriously losing it, he was sitting calmly, playing with the keys.... The locksmith came right away and opened our door, when so many other locksmiths said they can't come out. Why did you answer then? I told him my frustration (sorry I can't remember his name...it just happened a few hours ago) and he said many don't think it was worth their time but he was happy to help...thank you for being a caring human being and saved my bacon. Locked myself out of my house one morning as I rushed out the door with a toddler and 7 year old. Went on yelp and searched for a locksmith to help me get back inside as soon as possible. I had a few quotes but Eco Locksmith was one of the first few to respond to my yelp message quickly, offer the most reasonable quote (despite it being kind of a last minute emergency) and was able to meet me within 30 minutes of my first message. Which, as a mom, stuck outside, in the middle of a hot day, with two kids and a long to-do list for the day was a blessing!!!!!! We knew it could happen and it did. A glass door that we never lock (because we didn't have keys and it's internal to the home) was inadvertently locked by our neighbors and house sitter in a good faith effort to protect and safeguard our home while we were away on vacation. After a long 12 hour flight from overseas and so thankful to be back at home, we open the exterior door and the problem was immediately apparent - we only had access to the entry foyer... After calling 4 local companies-only to be told a minimum of 6 hour wait-time, breaking the glass door was a strong consideration -until Nathan from ECO answered and agreed to come out within 20 minutes. He arrived within 15 and not only got us in, but also made us 2 keys....The service we received was exceptional, so reasonably priced and effortless. We had a broken lock - deadbolt stuck in the lock itself. Called a recommended locksmith and was told "well you just need to replace it yourself and then we can rekey it for you". He really knew his stuff and even before he came out, he gave me a pretty good idea about what my options might be over the phone. EXCELLENT service! I was in a pinch and needed 4 new locks on our property (one of which was a bit complex) within 2 days. I called Eco Locksmith (Nathan) and he was able to fit me in. He was on time, fast, efficient and tidy (not one speck of sawdust from the door he had to drill out to create a new knob and lock). He even had extra locks available for us to choose from as we had forgotten to pick up an extra one earlier. Everything works beautifully and we are quite pleased. We were in such a nightmarish situation, locked out of our bedroom that had all of our things in it with no key, and he responded to my request on Yelp within 5 minutes. Nice to see a small business that is succeeding by offering high quality technical skills and excellent customer service. We replaced a deadbolt that required a larger opening. The first company we tried (through Amazon) took a long time to show up and then did not have the proper tools to do the job. Nathan showed up on time and with everything he needed. He went right to work and got the job done efficiently, double-checking his own work to make sure it was perfect, and then going over the new lock to make sure we knew how to program it. 5 stars. Fast service. Had a door lock fail 'closed' which meant even with the door unlocked and door knobs removed the latch wouldn't retract. I called Eco Locksmith and described true problem and he knew exactly what was wrong told me he could be there in about an hour. Nathan is the best, call him. I got a problem with a heavy duty car anti-theft device which is called pedal jack. Its lock got broken. I called two yelp-five-star (with 50+ reviews) locksmiths operating closer to my place (Concord) and none of them could help me with it. First one gave up after 20 mins of trying, a second one refused to come as soon as I explained a problem to them. Nathan came very quickly from Berkeley on a weekend and got the damn thing off my pedal in 20-30 mins without causing any damage to my car despite very tight working space.
