Overall this place was a vibe! Especially if you are into dogs, it is a very dog friendly coffee shop! We stopped in to grab a quick coffee and we were presently surprised by awesome service and cute doggies (a few patrons brought their fur babies ). They offer an array of fresh drip coffee's, brewed teas, and it looked like they had some pastries. What really blew my mind is that they have a whole section just for dog treats! They have the treats labeled as different dog names and they are on a cute table made of grass- so cute. Due to me not drinking coffee I opted for a lemonade which is OK. I asked if the lemonade was homemade she said yes but it had a very strong concentrated flavor. Maybe they mix a lemon juice concentrate with sugar and water, I would give it a solid 6 out of 10. I want to support Echo, as I think they stand for and support wonderful things, people, and causes themselves. I think they have the potential to be a great local spot. The greats: Service is always respectful and engaging. I like their spot, plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Dog friendly patio with treats. They donate to the Humane Society as well, which I love! The Morning Glory loaf is also probably my favorite breakfast confections eeeever. What I struggle with: Consistency in quality of drinks. I will provide this disclaimer: I'm a barista and I grew up making coffee at my parent's shop, and continued to work in coffee from 2007-2016. So I do have really high standards Echo has all the makings of constructing quality drinks, but as an espresso lover, I have a hard time watching them make drinks. I see shots forgotten, running long, etc. being poured into drinks despite overflowing the glass they're pulled into. This results in inconsistently levels of espresso to milk/water ratios, varying acidity in drinks, etc. that can make or break and experience. On top of that, I order pretty simple drinks. A double shot over ice with a splash of heavy cream, and a quad shot dirty chai. I think I've gotten the correct drinks once or twice in the last 8 times I've ordered them. In addition, if I order 4 or more drinks, I can guarantee at least one is wrong or worse, forgotten entirely. If this only happened once or twice, I wouldn't even bring it up. However, it happens more often than not with Echo, which brings my rating down simply because I think it's avoidable. I still go here, because I really am rooting for them and it's close and convenient for me! read more

Echo is one of my favorite Scottsdale coffee shops. The coffee is not too sweet, not too strong, but the mocha still has a good chocolate flavor. Sometimes that's hard to find with craft coffee! I think the coffee is fair-priced, with my mocha ringing up around $5-6. They also have an option to write a kind note to a stranger and receive a discount. Additionally, a portion of their proceeds go to animal rescue, so they got me right in the heart there. The only reason I subtracted a star is because the service is sometimes subpar. More than once I've been ignored for a few minutes before being even greeted. read more

Tried out this new coffee place with my coffee buddy. This place is very cozy. They offer snacks out side near the water bowl for your fur coffee buddies. Their pastry selection was not very big but it was in the afternoon. I probably missed the morning selection, so I won't count it against them. Try the a slice of pumpkin loaf. Yum! Baristas we're super friendly. We didn't see what we wanted on the menu, so we asked them if they were able to make a specialty drink. Oh yeah... they did ... and it was delicious. When it comes to coffee i prefer it like my heart; cold, black, and bitter. So naturally I go for the cold brew. I ordered the cold brew at Echo Coffee and it did the job. It had me bouncing off the walls and nice and jittery. It was perfect. Unlike my coffee, I like my breakfast snacks sweet! And I've tried a few pastries at Echo and they have all been delicious! And from what I understand, there is usually a rotating selection which is nice, it keeps things fresh in my opinion. The staff here is always friendly too. With my experiences, the cashier has always asked questions to better provide me with knowledge of more options that I didn't know about. So cool! When we walked in the baked good looked fabulous: Scones, sweet breads, muffins and more! There was one gentleman running the counter. I'm not Sure, but he may have been the owner. I had an iced americano and my partner had a chai latte. My coffee was smooth and delicious; Her latte was fabulous! Then I went to get a refill (for a fee) on my americano and tea. I got a cookie thrown in for free and bought a scone. The prices were quite reasonable-- $6.00 for both the original drinks. The inside ambience is cozy. This was a quick stop on the way to the Saturday morning market in old town! We were very impressed to see they had some live music outside which made it really peaceful to sit and sip our coffee. This place is very dog friendly and they had a big jar of organic treats at the front door. Which is always a plus when you're a pet parent. I was impressed with the coffee I had and noticed they had quite a few danishes for sale as well. My husband and I didn't try any of those as we were eating our breakfast at the market. We would definitely recommend this place for a weekend stop. The people were really friendly and overall this is a nice place. This is nestled in a shopping plaza so it's got your standard parking. Overall, they were all wearing masks which we appreciated. I would say the fact they had a notebook to send notes to those who are ill in the hospital was a really sweet gesture. I met a friend here for coffee but decided to get there early to get some actual life work done. Upon waking in, I love how this coffee shop is set up. There are a lot of tables or bar tops with accessible outlets, then in the back are a few couches and a large table split by a half wall good for socialization. I ordered a soy dirty chai latte. Honestly it was delicious, creamy and smooth. (Sometimes chai can be too spicy for me). The espresso I think helped cut some of the sweetness for me. I ordered a vegetarian quiche for breakfast which was their specialty... honestly, so good. The crust on their quiche is probably one of the best ones I've had. Definitely pleased!!! read more

This was my spot for close to 2 years.. I never had any issues but the only times I did have issues were when this one dude was working(later identified as the owner)... I would never get a correct order. I order a large and he gives me a regular.. first time I just brushed it off it could he honest... he did that twice! I didn't say anything the second time. Third time the size of the drink was correct but he didn't make my coffee right... I ordered hot coffee the one I got was an old batch or something smh! It was cold! This place is dog friendly (dog snacks as you walk in); ambience is nice and they have free wifi for customers. Love the open feel to it. Bathrooms are clean. Customer service is good. Music is chill and I love that they have real exotic plants to filter out the air. They support the BOB RABBIT PROJECT and they have a water drive you can participate in. Have driven past this place 100's of times as we live around the corner, but never stopped in. Turned out to be a day we did! We had to get some work done on the car across the street, so decided to spend our waiting time here. Very nice little cafe, with ok coffee, some nice bites/eats and a choice of some cool reading material (papers, magazines, etc). Offers free wifi too, which was handy as we worked while we waited for our car. It's sort of out of the way of the main downtown Scottsdale area, but from a local cafe perspective, it's a great little place. As a bit of a coffee snob, their coffee was a little sour (under-extracted) and weak - leaving a short finish - maybe consider grinding the beans a little finer to provide a better extraction and flavour. The customer service isn't the best but this seems to be a high traffic area on the outskirts of downtown Scottsdale. They have typical bakery/coffee shop food, which I've purchased a couple times. Not bad overall, but nothing substantially filling. The coffee itself is wonderful and very quick, so it's not a bad spot to visit when nearby. read more

The roasting machinery and scales sat idle, and the beans were in big white buckets. Lots of tables, but also an area with big comfy couches. Young crowd. Beautiful latte art but my latte was warm (think almost cold). Would have loved it to be much hotter. Perhaps serving hot lattes a tad warmer would be my suggestion. It had great taste, and I also loved the addition of the little shortbread cookie! Several choices for milk options, so customers should be able to find the perfect formula for a drink. The bakery/pastry options looked wonderful. Carrot, walnut, coconut loaf named Morning Glory(that has to be healthy and delicious). Everything else looked super healthy. Big parking area, which can easily be accessed from 67th or 68th depending on which way you are traveling. With so many coffee houses to choose from, it is fun to experience different ones before deciding on a favorite! This place is definitely health conscious, which I love! read more

I got to eat a very tasty little shortbread cookie that was served with my cappuccino. I tried the cappuccino here for a change as I always seem to order a latte and I wanted to try a slightly different flavor. There is easy ordering at the register near the entrance. Coffee pick up is very minimalist as they pass your coffee to you through a small gap beside the coffee machine. Nice wall art. It represents a variety of different art genres. There are quite a few tables both 2-person and one that will seat eight. There are also stools for working at a counter. Two comfortable sofas and one chair allow for a relaxing meeting area for friends. I think one of the walls is painted a light avocado green which gives the coffee shop a retro feel. The ceiling is the usual silver exhaust pipes on a matte black background. Pink lighting gives off a warm tone. Unfortunately, the five white buckets stored beside the coffee roaster detracts from the overall stylistic impression of the establishment(I assume they are temporary). read more

What can I say about this pace but OLD SCHOOL. It's more like a quite study hall than a bustling coffee shop. This place is no Starbucks! You aren't going to get your name on a cup, or shouting out orders as you wait in line but you will get a damn good cup of coffee that rivals Starbucks. I know, how dare I but it's true. I was shocked and amazed by the quality of coffee they were serving. Boy, was it delicious! I had an Americana hot and my hubby had one iced, they were both awesome. Don't get me started on the raisin, coconut and carrot loaf.... shut the front door..... I was licking my finger and trying to scrap the crumbs off the plate. This is sad and I just finished my own amazing banana loaf slice. How greedy can one human be!!! No guilt here.... The pastry selection is small but everything was good! Pretty good coffee! We were looking for a place to grab a cup of coffee before driving home and this was one of the only places that were open (due to COVID19). All the seating was blocked off (as to be expected) but they were still serving to go. We both ordered an oat milk iced latte to go and they were delicious. We also couldn't help but get a cranberry scone and a blueberry muffin. Both tasted so fresh! Sweet staff, very sunny and welcoming atmosphere, and organic coffee! I got an almond milk latte, my usual and my specialty. It was pretty watery and not foamy at all, which I was surprised to taste, but it was still good. I just wish it had more creaminess and foam to it. I wouldn't rank the latte on my top lattes of Phoenix, but A+ for staff and ambiance. I enjoyed hanging here and working on my laptop until the minute they closed up shop.
