They had scant choices of bakery items. Out of everything. We finally chose a danish. Coffee was so weak and the danish was stale. I went up and told the girl it was stale and asked if I could exchange for a muffin, she said No because I bit it. I said that's how I found out it was stale. I was here on a Saturday around noon. There were some people inside sitting at tables, but no line. They have dog treats just outside the door but only allow service dogs inside. We were greeted right away and our drinks were made in just a few minutes. They have a clearly posted menu, but you do have to ask what syrups/flavors they offer. I did not see any special or seasonal drinks. I ordered an iced lavender latte with skim milk. The coffee they use is very mild tasting. I did appreciate that they had lavender, but I wanted a little more oomph to my drink that I just don't think they can get with the beans they are using. Prices are pretty normal for the area but it will take a more flavorful coffee to get me back. read more

I hadn't been to Echo since they first opened, back when I used to stop in while dating someone who drank Americanos. I'm not usually a coffee drinker (especially not the fully caffeinated kind), but lately I've been exploring local coffee shops and decided to give them another try. They no longer have the small lunch menu I remember, it's just baked goods now (croissants, banana bread, danish, muffins, etc.). I ordered a peanut butter bar and a decaf latte with almond milk and hazelnut. I believe the decaf option was their mushroom-based alternative. Compared to other shops I've tried recently where every coffee has been smooth and free of bitterness, this one stood out for having a noticeably bitter taste. I'm not sure how that's possible in a decaf/mushroom drink, but it wasn't nearly as enjoyable as the others I've had. That said, I still appreciate Echo's community spirit. They currently have a sign up offering free coffee with a case of water (August 2025) and support the Arizona Humane Society, which is wonderful to see. Inside, the vibe is still relaxed and conducive to working or studying. While the coffee wasn't my personal favorite this time, Echo remains a nice, mellow spot for those who enjoy supporting local businesses. read more

Looking for a coffee shop opened on an early Saturday morning, Echo popped up. I had higher hopes. Upon entering (only one there), the person working didn't say anything. Perhaps it was too early...not sure. Not a particularly welcoming vibe. I ordered a coffee and a muffin. The coffee was quite good and the perfect pick me up. The muffin was refrigerated cold. I was really thought they would ask to warm it up given how cold it was. I was also disappointed on the items placed in takeaway cups and bags when I was having the items there. Stopped in today while in area. Few outdoor tables so Luna and I settled in. Got my usual Americano which is my go-to to evaluate coffee spots. Barista was in there working on her own and there were more than a few customers sitting inside, but she had it all under control and made my drink pretty quickly. As I was waiting, was tempted by the display case of pastries, muffins and breads. Got 2 chocolate peanut butter bars and a piece of morning glory bread (carrot) to go. They look delish. They donate some of their profit to Az Humane Society, which I love. Big jar of dog treats at front door, do I know Luna will want to go back Facility, patio, service and food are 5-star. This is a local coffee shop with a solid selection of coffee variations. The setting of the coffee shop is very alternative, has indoor and outdoor seating and looks like a mini hangar. They also have whole beans that they roast themselves and sell. If you buy two packs of coffee bags you will get a large iced coffee I believe is the offer. I would love it if they had a light roast as well. This is not your typical coffee chain experience but it worth stopping by and knowing your money is spent on a good purpose. Supporting local businesses is always a choice for sure. The baristas get very happy when they see dogs but not so sure when they see customers. Quiet place to get work done. The barista at the counter was very patient with my questions. I ended up getting a chai latte. It was very good! The place was clean and the bathroom was clean. Good offering of baked goods (although I miss the baker they used to have). Not the fastest if you just want to grab and go, but a great place to hang out for a while. This was my go-to place to study when I still lived in Arizona. It was close by, convenient, and affordable. The store supports the humane society! My regular order was always the iced chai latte, which until this day, is my favorite chai latte from any cafe. However, when I tried their regular latte once, I was not a fan. Staff are always friendly and the place always felt like it had the right amount of people--not too packed but not empty. It can get a bit chilly in here so bring a jacket in case. read more

Okay I really hate doing this because it's a locally owned place but today was my last time going to this place. Every time I've come in recently the staff seems bothered to help you and has zero personality. Lastly I forgot to rinse my mug out I politely asked the young lady to rinse it out she started to and then turned around and says she's actually not supposed to rinse them out and that I should go to the restroom to rinse it out myself and then bring it back up. Super friendly staff who recommended cold brew! Which was perfect for the heat in phoenix. Loved the deal of two bags of coffee and free drink. They are pet friendly ish, (pets outside only) but do provide dog treats. The inside was interesting. Just "Chai" it, you'll like it! This place is such a gem. I used to live much closer and could visit more frequently. Now it's a bit further I don't get to stop by as much as I would like! I was in the neighborhood and it was a bit overcast, so I thought no better or an opportunity then a chai latte pick me up! I've had many chais over the valley, iced, hot, spicy, sweet and everything in between. I truly forgot how amazing theirs were, talk about quali-TEA! They steam it with cinnamon, which is truly fall perfection, not for everyone I know, but I loved it. In addition, I think the only pastry from their case I've ever ordered, because it's that good, a cheesecake brownie. It's not a huge space my any means, but a great place to meet up with a friend or two or even do some work. My first time at Echo Coffee. I like how the interior is light and bright. Quite inviting with merchandise and for sale and their commitment to our furry friends . I ordered an small Hot Cocoa with almond milk as per usual as I don't drink coffee. It was nicely sweet and tasty but could have been warmer as the liquid was barely lukewarm. I like the fresh flowers, amount of small tables and cute decor. I hope to visit again in the future and hope that the liquid temperature is closer to the hot but boiling temperature that I prefer my Hot Cocoa to be. read more

I wanted to love this place more with their donations to the Humane Society which is a really nice thing, but 1% feels somewhat performative. I have been coming to Echo since early 2020 although last year I took somewhat of a hiatus after several of my favorite staff left. I recently started going back on the regular and I can say they still make a delightful chai, in fact it's probably my favorite place in the whole valley to get one.
