We really enjoyed our pizza & service! We stopped in during an Erie block party on a Friday night & it was pretty busy. Our waiter was kind by letting us know up-front our pizza would take a little longer than normal because the kitchen was backed up. We completely understood. The food was okay. We had a Marg pizza and a Capra pizza, which were both ok. I was also super excited to get some Italian Nachos, as those are rare. Unfortunately I was disappointed, as the chips used were tortilla chips. We had two beers, a light one and a brown ale, both were real good. Great beer, great pizza, friendly staff. Good place to come get a beer ot two with the kiddos. Or just some beer and watch sports on TV. Pizzas made on site, and they are tasty. The gin barrel aged saison is delicious. Irish Red and Frank are also favs. read more

What a great way to spend an afternoon. It's nice to find a place that has both excellent session beers as well over the top beers. Absolutely love the Nocturnal. My favorite Black IPA ever! Everytime I come here, I leave happy. Awesome pizza and tonight tried their sandwiches, still utterly impressed even when I took it as "to-go". Only downside, but not upset about it because I was tired after work, is that I was pretty much was ignored at the bar top. A friend and I were driving through old town Erie and saw this place. The weather was nice and Echo had created an open air look to the building with large open windows in the front and back. We tried a house beer that was an 8 out of 10. And we each ordered a pizza. Both of our pizzas were very good. In a town that doesn't offer much in the way of food and entertainment, this is definitely a bright spot. I'd happily return to this place. Prices were in line. It's great to see these folks finally open in Erie. Long time coming. I was impressed by the friendly staff, the transformation of the building into a very nice (though LOUD) brewpub, and their BEER. I had their milk stout, which was very good. Their gluten-free pizza however, was not ready for prime-time. Words I would use to describe it: Dense, dull, dry, chewy, tasteless, thick and perhaps undercooked. It's their own GF dough, and they probably need to keep working on the formula to make it edible. read more

I have to say I used to be a HUGE Echo fan.....when they first opened in Frederick. Their taproom quickly became popular with small town atmosphere, events with local artists and trivia night, all driven by a love for good beer. When they announced their new location in Erie I was over the moon. Erie NEEDS this type of community, comradery and to be able to support local business owners. Echo brews good beer, and I enjoy drinking it, but no longer at the expense of poor service EVERY time I come to their Erie location. I've come when it's crowded and can understand slow service, or having to wait for a table. But my experience with service at this location never seems to be of quality in any condition. My most recent example is coming in last Sat. after the Face concert at Coal Creek Park a block away. I wanted to introduce my cousins to Echo Brewing as they'd not been, and was surprised at how empty it was for a Sat evening, and felt lucky to have a quiet spot to enjoy a beer and good conversation. I asked if they were still open and serving, told yes and we took a seat as there wasn't a hostess staffed, or anyone interested in seating us. (Also no sign up indicating otherwise) After waiting some time, I grabbed menus for the others to review selections and still no one approached us to offer service. I even had to explain the offerings and suggest what my party would enjoy best. After further waiting, we assumed with the slow nature of the night we were to order at the bar, at which point, were told our server would be with us. We returned to wait at the table some more. We did happen to overhear two employees at the front door talking: Employee 1: "well they went to the BAR to order" Employee 2: "Because no one was serving them, that's why,...." Yet neither came over to do so when we sat back down. Other tables filled and THEN a server started hustling. Ours was apologetic to some extent, but throughout our time ordering both food and drink, was forgetful and we had to make simple requests multiple times. Echo, while you brew a decent beer, you're not the only game in town. I've given you multiple chances since you've moved in knowing everyone has an off day. Yet you disappoint me every time. I don't get a sense of community, or that this is the place to be to relax, bring my family and enjoy our town. read more

Excellent pizza and salads. Not a big menu, but you don't need more with pizzas/salads that good. Fantastic beer as well, and it's typically not completely crowded like many places in Erie. I regularly attend with gluten free folks, and they claim their GF pies are WAY better than most read more

It's great to have another brewery in Erie. They have nice beers but I don't find their food to be very good. We ordered a pizza and it was so soggy in the center that you had to eat it with a fork. I would recommend this place for a brew but not necessarily for the food. They also have a great outside sitting area! read more

Not a fan...beer was warm, one of our dinner plates was brought out with our appetizer and meatballs were so bland which made the meatball sandwich really inedible. On a good note, the waitress did remove the sandwich from the bill. read more

We have gone to Echo about 8 times now and every time we kept hoping the service would get better than what it was before and it unfortunately does not. We enjoy the beer and food there and primarily love to go there for their outdoor patio, especially on farmers market, but tonight was the worst service ever. 42 minutes to get a beer about an hour to get burnt bread sticks and an hour and a half to get the wrong order of my wrap and then find that the waitress never put our order in for my husbands pizza. Several people I talked with this evening said they always have terrible service as well, but somehow people still keep coming back. I guess the location works to their advantage. Management definitely needs to work on their staffing. read more

Was very excited that Echo began serving mixed drinks in addition to beer and wine. Went in this evening for the first time in a while, unfortunately a single vodka soda was $9. Doesn't seem to be worth it for the price. Really like the food and atmosphere. Hopefully prices on mixed drinks will go down a bit, so we can go back! read more

I so wanted to like it and to be fair, I didn't try the beer. The pizza was not served straight away, so the middle was starting to get mushy. The toppings had no flavor (artichoke, goat cheese and spinach should have flavor?) and there was no seasoning. The Caesar salad was very average. Splitting a pizza and a salad with water should be less than $12 in my opinion. Great outside seating although lots of people vaping, which wasn't pleasant. Very pleasant staff. I might give it another try, but not a first choice in Erie. read more

I love the Molto pizza, spinach salad and Echo's dark lager, but last night we had TERRIBLE SERVICE. I asked for a "taste" of a couple beers because I couldn't decide which beer I wanted to order with my dinner. When we got the bill, I was charged for two tasters ($2.50 each)! I asked my server to take the charges off the bill and she did, which was nice but then I noticed that there was a $12 charge. I asked what the charge was for and she said that it was for my friend's wine. On the menu it said $9 for the glass of wine she ordered. Our server said that she charged her for a large pour, which my friend never asked for (and it really was just a glass of wine) AND the $12 price wasn't even listed on the menu! She could tell I was angry but didn't offer to take off the charge. We were already late for the comedy show we were going to so I let it go. BUYER BEWARE, make sure you tell your server the exact amount of alcohol you are ordering (there's different prices for the beer too!) and always check your bill! Love this place! We have gone to Echo ever since they opened in Erie. The owners are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They are constantly improving the menu and listening to what customers have to say. The beer is seriously some of the best I have tasted. My two favorites are the Red and the Dunkel. You can tell that they truly have a passion for what they do. Sad to give this review, but seriously how many times can we come and experience lame service? These guys are really missing out with a market that is thirsty for a good patio atmosphere! Echo is by far one of my husbands'a and i's favorite place to go. The atmosphere is great and the food is really good. It's family owned and the owners really try hard to get to know their customers. Yea, at times they can get super busy and not be prepared with staff, but we understand and are happy that the place has taken off so much. Oh ya, and it's a brewery and the beer is amazing! We were once huge fans of Echo, but the service over the last year has been deplorable (one might say nonexistant). Beer, location and atmosphere are really good. Pizza is hit or miss. At times pizza has been fantastic. At others, it is undercooked and way too greasy. Service is average. Sometimes good and sometimes not so good. I wish the service was like the service at their Frederick location where Meghan and Teresa are always smiling and welcoming. read more

The beer and pizza here are both excellent. We had a good size, starving group who happened to come into Echo on the same day as the Farmers Market. Place was bombed out! Yet as harried as they were the staff managed to give us great service. The Isola (like a spicy Hawaiian), Margherita and Pesto pizzas were FABULOUS! Crust-cheese-sauce all perfect and flavors of the toppings was outstanding. Kids had pepperoni, which was also very good. The beers were great and the options were good but for the things they had runout of...doggone farmers market crowd! Couple of TVs on to keep sports fans entertained but it wasn't overly ear-blowing. For as crazy as it was that night the pizzas came out pretty quickly and almost simultaneously. Lexi gave us great service. First time here-it was excellent! We had the Shishito peppers and garlic for an appetizer-very unique. The for the main course-the Capra pizza. Perfect for two ! Our waitress Chloe was awesome! Patio was getting busy and she handled it like a champ-very friendly and comfortable with customers. We will be coming back for sure!!!! read more

I'm a big fan of ECHO brewing and was happy to see they added a location with food! Pizza and meatball sub was great. Kid menu was great too. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and had great service. Staff was very willing to change one of the TVs so we could watch what we wanted. Beers were cold and delicious. About a month or so ago, this restaurant placed a menu on our door handle that indicated they deliver in Erie. I called this evening to put in an order for delivery, and they "didn't have a driver" working tonight. It's pretty unacceptable to advertise delivery and then not be able to follow through. I'm SHOCKED & TOTALLY EMBARRASSED! - I met a bunch (5) friends - who are Denver beer enthusiasts for drinks & dinner last Sat nite (4/23/16 at 5:30pm) to show off our local Erie Brewery. WOW - we could NOT have been more disappointed! We did not get out of there until 8:30pm - it took that long to get 2 rounds & dinner. It was a complete disaster, to put it kindly! From the NEVER clearing our table from the previous inhabitant's old waters, 1/2 eaten plates of food plates (which we politely brought to the server's attention 2-3 times) to an obscure & lengthy pattern of dinner & drink delivery...to details like pizza cutting the actual pizza in some sort of slices so someone can actually eat it...to when asked "the manager" to switch a TV to the Rockie's game from a strange movie, I was told "I'll get to it when I can!" - 1.5 hours later, the TV moved onto another strange movie from the last. It was a COMPLETE cluster to say the least! We all just shook our heads the ENTIRE time. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS BREWERY! WOW! I don't think I've ever hosted such an embarrassing night in my life! We went with our friends about a week ago & we loved it so much we had to go back again. Menu is varied so there are lots of choices. The beer is awesome and the food is just as good!!
