Cool little brewery in the Frederick, Firestone, and Dacono area serving up Detroit style pizza. The beer is good, with a generous choice for all beer drinkers, even a hard selzer. They do have mixed drinks, but extremely limited. Completely understandable since they are a brewery. Nice patio, dog friendly, but furry friends have to be on the patio. Definitely worth the check out if you're in the area. *Side note, this is a Philadelphia Eagles space, so, on Sundays expect the Eagles to be on every TV. Stopped in for a beer with my husband and a friend. If the parking lot is full, there is street parking nearby. We were welcomed in and chose to sit at the bar. Our server was friendly and helpful to us with making our selections. I chose Face Tattoo, a grapefruit golden ale. It was 5.4% ABV and had a nice grapefruit with slight pith flavor. It was an enjoyable pint. They have quite a collection of medals from competitions. I can see why. This was a nice stop. read more

My husband and I were really excited to try this place since we live just minutes away. I am gluten free and was so excited about the gluten free crusts they offer for their pizzas. Unfortunately they were all out of gluten free crusts. I instead got the med salad and chips and queso and my husband ordered a deep dish pizza. My salad was not good at all. The grilled chicken on it was quite literally inedible. It was 100% frozen chicken from a bag that was heated up and thrown on top. It was chewy, and had the weirdest taste. I knew the second I saw the chicken that it wasn't going to be good, as it was almost translucent in appearance. The chips and queso were just okay. You could tell the chips were cheap and straight out of a bag, half of ours were crumbs. The queso tasted pretty much like movie theatre queso with some salsa added in. My husbands pizza was just okay, nothing great. The service was just okay as well. Unfortunately we will not be back. read more

We inquired about the history, as many reviews mentioned "Echo" - well, it's no longer Echo & Mirror Image is different than Echo. Cool, let's disregard the reviews for Echo. Moving on... I had the 10oz Tickle for a Pickle (clean finish, moderate pickle on the nose & tongue- surprisingly no cucumber - with the clean finish.) We visited Mirror Image regularly. We went yesterday 4/11 for an early dinner. They were busy, but there were plenty of tables. We ordered our pizza and my husband very specifically asked for no mozzarella, but ALL ricotta on his pizza with the detroit crust. The girl seemed confused but didn't ask to clarify anything. The pizzas came out and were dropped at our table with no napkins, plates or silverware. My husband got up to ask for silverware and the annoyed bartender handed him silverware, got back to the table and realized there were no napkins in the bag that holds the silverware so he got back up to get napkins; very annoyed, the bartender handed him napkins. Didn't dare ask for plates, parmesan or red pepper flakes, so we ate off of the pizza trays, even though we were sharing pizzas. Then we realized my husband's pizza wasn't the detroit crust. Whelp, no one checked to see if our food was ok. We were completely ignored the whole time unless we flagged someone down. So, once again, my husband got up to go get someone. They took the pizza and then one of the staff came to our table to tell US what we asked for, which was completely incorrect! She started to clarify what the detroit crust is, which we know what it is, been there a lot. And then says, 'You ordered no cheese!' Um, no he didn't! He ordered the detroit crust and no mozzarella with all ricotta. Isn't ricotta a cheese? She said, 'Oh, well there was some confusion.' No apology and if there was confusion then come back and ask us before making the pizza. Again, we were completely ignored and the blonde bartender was SO rude to us. Not sure what we did except eat at your business. Not sure why we were completely ignored the whole time and treated like we were a burden and they didn't want us there. They were visibly annoyed. We weren't nasty in any way and were gracious. I'm still upset that my husband even tipped, honestly, I hope it went to the kids in the kitchen only. All they did was take our order, tell us what we ordered, and ignored us. Not asking for special treatment, just decent and kind service. Awful. And we drive a ways to eat at this establishment. Today was our first time here and we're glad we found it! Theresa and Jonea were great at making us feel welcome and took the time to answer my many questions. The beers are very good with a nice variety and the place is very clean and good for meeting friends. My wife had the blond and I got the Stout. I was excited to try this place. I was disappointed immediately. There was no AC on a hot day. You get your own water. Beer and wine were okay. One waitstaff for several tables service was mid. Food was mid as well. The salad (any salad is over priced) is like a side salad. Pizza is less quality than frozen pizza. I do not recommend! read more

Date night brought us here and I'm happy it did. Breweries are not my forte but I'm all for learning! I'm told i prefer an India Pale ale. And, Mirror didn't disappoint! There are several options and everything w a citrus blend was amazing. We did a sampler and all were good. We'd happily try all but the Brexit again. It lacked the depth and flavor the others had. We popped in here before a birthday party to get some food and brews. It was a nice day, so the patio was pretty full, but the dining room was pretty open. The bartender was really friendly and make great suggestions on beers based on our tastes. I tried their baltic porter and whiskey aged peach pale ale. I loved the first, liked the second. We also tried their pretzel and queso - a winner! The pretzel was warm and salty and the queso was cheesy goodness. We also shared their 10" pepperoni Detroit style cracker thin pizza. It was super cheese and the crust was crunchy and thin (like we like). It was all around a winner. We don't really come up this way that much, but I would go their again and recommend to anyone in the area. read more

Went here on a Thursday night. When we walked in we got a seat at the bar. It was busy but just got busier. And there was only one bartender working and she was running around like crazy. She was trying her best to keep up with all the drink orders and everybody. She was very friendly and enjoyed what she was doing. She was talkative and attentive when she could be. Pocket book friendly - check. Friendly staff - check. Delicious beers - check. What more does a girl want? Maybe some food? -- Check! Echo is smart. They partner up with local food trucks and stands to offer different food selection each night of the week. They offer Trivia night on Tuesdays in their pub and Orange crunch is there on Tuesday nights too! Yum! On the weekends you get different vendors too, I'm not sure about their food schedules on the weekends cuz all I care about is pairing my Echo beers with Filipino empanadas.... oh and free popcorn. The brew pub is nice and roomy in comparison to some of other breweries I've been to. I love Echo because they are reasonably priced and boy do I get a good buzz off of 1 beer here and normally it takes about 3-4 beers. Good stuff. I'm not an IPA fan, but I love their IPA here. It's strong but has a really nice finish. My favorite is their "Razz" berry beer, so delicious I always ended up taking a growler home. I have yet to have bad beers here and I've tried them all. The root beer is super awesome too. It's nice to have a brewery that offers something for kids too. (Like root beer and popcorn.) Some nights, you'll have to check out their website, they offer local musicians to come to their brew pub and play a few jams. I have only been to this place maybe 4 times but every time I come here I feel like I'm going into "Cheers" because I would run into other regulars who are super friendly as well. I heard they might be opening up another location soon so keep your eyes peeled for that. They have a nice patio in the front of the pub that I hope to come by as we get closer into the summer time... it'd be awesome sitting in the warm sun having some razzmatazz and enjoy the weather. It's a nice location and I am glad that Frederick has it's own brewery but I wasn't highly impressed with the beer. On some of the beers the carbonation seemed a bit off and they were not cask beers either. I got a sampling set of everything they had on tap. It was ok, got a sufficient buzz off of it and the free popcorn was a nice bonus. I settled for the Kolsch. That beer was my favorite from the set. Everyone that worked there was very nice. While this brewery was not too experimental in the brews which is what I am looking for. Unique brews and tastes, I think I might have to keep looking. There are lots of new breweries opening along the Front Range and this is one of them. If you are a beer snob then you should check the place out at least once. read more

Cool local place. The beers were tasty. I wasn't a fan of the kolsch, but the Tri-town Brown and the dunkelweizen were tasty. The coconut dunkelweizen was also very tasty, with way more coconut flavor than you'd expect, but I don't know if I could drink a big glass of that one. We also ate a couple veggie tacos and the roasted shishito peppers. We liked them both, but wished it had been a better time of year for spicier peppers. This is a great little microbrewery. We loved it inside. It is off the beaten path and not far off I25. One of the owners, Daniel, was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Loved thier IPA. Have to say, it was one of the better IPA's I have had recently. Also, like the Hefe Weisen. It was not too syrupy as some are. They have tvs and a popcorn machine. Also, have soft pretzels for sale. The bar is big and pints are for the most part $4. They also sell root beer. Lots of seating and a new deck outside. Really worth coming up to North Metro for a nice cold beer and a friendly atmosphere. read more

This was my second visit to Echo - but I 100% wasn't in the mood to be at a brewery the first time so I won't consider anything from that visit. We went this past Friday night and found a table right away. $1.50 for tasters and we decided on a flight - 11 beers in all. I'm a pickier beer drinker than my handsome counterpart and I was still able to find 3 beers that I REALLY enjoyed (and probably 3 others that I liked just ok; the rest, no spank you). The boy really enjoys hop-heavy beers and was really pleased with most of their offerings. I liked the free popcorn though...that's good right?! I know that they offer trivia on Tuesdays I think and they have a food truck there most nights - this night it was some Mexican/Asian fusion truck but we had already eaten. I'd love to LOVE Echo Brewery because it's close to home, it's local and they're innovative and experimental with their beers...but I'd be willing to drive to another brewery for beer that better suits my palate. We'll keep trying though. read more

This is our favorite place in Frederick. Their brews are so good! The waitresses are very sweet. They have a small menu of appetizer type foods like pizza and Nachos. My only complaint (that could also be a complement) is that they get way too crowded on Friday nights. There have been several times we had to leave because there was nowhere to sit. (popcorn is one of my favorite foods AND free is my favorite price!) I was also disappointed that they didn't have any board games available. We almost always bring our own games around with us, so I was so sad that the one time we forgot them we ended up at a brewery without games available. Beer was good. Prices average @ $6.50/pint. The overall feel of the brewery is nice. It would seem they are trying to go for the brewery/restaurant type of brewery, which is just not what I was expecting. We had recently eaten so didn't try the food. They have a small menu of pizza and snacks. The patio looks nice, but being 97 degrees out we opted inside for the air conditioning! read more

Went here a few days ago and I was impressed. Being from north of Detroit, I was intrigued how their Detroit style pizza compares to the real deal and it was pretty close. Not the same, but pretty close. I had the Irish Red and it was ok, not my favorite but then I had the Hefeweizen. It was delicious! The only reason I'm giving this four stars and not five is only because the parking is a little iffy. It was a little confusing to get into the parking lot and the lot is super tiny so we had to park on the street. Other than that, I would highly recommend this place, to the beer lover first and then to the pizza lover. read more

My brother, living just down the road from this place, let me know that a new brewery was opening as soon as he saw it. So when visiting Frederick for a family brunch at his house, we all stopped over to give the place a try and sample their offerings. Since my brother and sister-in-law had already been in, they ordered pints of their favorites--the Irish Red for my sister-in-law and the ESB for my brother. I went with the taster so that I could give all a fair chance before making a decision. The taster came in this cool wood server. I'm not sure why I am noting this, but it was handmade and I thought it was really cool. Matched their bar top! All the beers were easy drinkers and I finished thinking I could probably go home with a growler of any of them and be a happy drinker. However, while easy to take, their IPA fell a little flat for me. I LOVE me a good IPA and this one just seemed a little underwhelming. For someone who isn't as into the hoppiness that I expect from a great IPA, they might really enjoy this! The ESB proved to be my favorite! The tasting room is really nice with plenty of seating and a few TVs. Would be a nice place to catch a game if you could go without the food or subsist on the popcorn that's offered! The only thing I would say is that while friendly, the staff is kinda awkward. I'm not sure how to really nail down the vibe, but my sister-in-law had warned about this before we headed over. Multiple visits with the same awkwardness seems kinda strange. Perhaps as they get more comfortable in the neighborhood this will work itself out? read more

Neato brewery in the middle of nowhere! We found this place to be delightful! We split a tasty sampler and each was delish. I like their sample servers that are in the shape of an E (for Echo) - neat! The place was just getting going at noon on a Saturday, but people were riding up on bikes and filling up growlers. They also had some really sweet shirts for sale. I might have to score one at some point. The space was designed well and they have a popcorn machine to keep ya drinkin. I highly recommend this spot if you are anywhere in the vicinity or willing to travel for a beer tour. read more

I was out here doing some crazy Craigslist transaction and thought it was the perfect opportunity to see my buddy Jack Hadley who happened to be playing here and to sample some hop pops of course. Really dig the digs and the brews too. I moved to Firestone about a month ago and while that means I moved closer to places like Left Hand and Oskar Blues, I was probably equally excited to have a tap room a mere 10 minutes from my place. I think I may have had Echo's beer at fests, but I'd never been to their tap room. So my wife and I decided to go check it out on a Sunday afternoon, as we felt like a beer but didn't feel like going far. This place is in a funky location, but isn't too hard to find (among other things, there is a big "BREWERY" sign on the side of the building) We saw they had a nice-ish patio out front, but unfortunately someone was smoking on it, so we decided to go inside. With no disrespect to smokers, I found it strange and off putting that they allowed smoking RIGHT on their patio. It's also worth noting it looks like this person had one beer, and then just sat there and smoked for an hour plus. Not the best vibe. Walking inside, the tap room itself looked okay, but not the most warm or welcoming. There is local art on the walls which is a nice touch, but the tables are somewhat plain as is the general feel. They do have a popcorn machine which is nice, as it's a free snack to munch on. Their beer selection is good and varied, and even includes local cider. Their food menu is also quite good, and we just went for their soft pretzels, which were pretty tasty. Here's where I can't fully get behind this place-the vibe was...weird. It felt more like a bar than a tap room. I feel like most tap rooms I go to have chill music going, laid back beer slingers and a relaxed crowd that talks about their beers, etc. This place featured someone smoking like a chimney on the patio, a group of SUPER loud guys who actually seemed to be mocking the idea of craft beer (I can't make that up), a guy with a kid awkwardly flirting with the bar tender, and some dude giving me the evil eye for no real reason. Honestly, as good as my beer was I couldn't finish it fast enough so I could get out of there, it just felt so uncomfortable. I'll probably keep trying Echo beers, I just likely won't be back to this tap room. read more
