We REALLY enjoy coming here. They are tucked away from the main road, so you gotta look for them. They have a wide selection of beer, and many times have something on nitro - which is something we really enjoy. They have a good selection of beers - from dark to light. We always go for the darker beers, and always above the IPA kind of styles. I can say all the darker beers we've tried we've enjoyed. We've even brought a few home in growlers. They recently added food, and stop depending on food trucks (I used to be one of those food trucks), and I think it was a great addition and more reliable option. The tacos are good, nothing mind blowing, but enjoyable. They have a few other options as well, pretzels and such. Worth a night out for food and a couple of beers. The environment is pretty relaxed, and the staff is generally fairly busy so they don't always have a lot of time to talk to you - which in some breweries they seem more "friendly", but I can say based on personal and professional experience with them, they are very friendly, polite and professional. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. It quickly became my go-to spot. Solid-quality beer, throughout all their styles/selection, though the Hef & Kolsch are probably my favorites. & the pizza?!?...while I'm a NY-style fan all the way (they offer that as well), I've found myself drawn towards the Detroit crust-crispy & chewy. T-dubs and I were taking a trip to the first farmers market of the season in Boulder, saw how cruddy 36 east was on our way there, and decided to take an alternate route home. Frederick is actually not really on the way home (at all) but seemed to make for a good excuse to do some research and check out a non-Denver brewery. I don't know Frederick AT ALL so I turned on my Yelp app for navigation and it led me to someone's house. Soooooo.....that was weird and awkward (we recognized we were in a highly residential neighborhood and didn't get out and knock on their door or anything, thankfully). Finally got turned around and on the right street and to the brewery. From the outside, this place reminded me a lot of the weird breweries we encountered in Vermont. I was fully expecting that we would walk into an office to be greeted by an awkward guy telling us we can only have four one ounce tasters due to Vermont state law. Alas, it was a pretty large (albeit bright and clean and new smelling) space with tables and couches and popcorn. We sat at the bar and ordered some samples (size options include tasters, 10 oz, 16 oz, and 20 oz which appeared to be a steal at $5). The guy behind the bar wasn't terribly engaging. The beer options were plentiful with about nine or ten options on tap. I sampled a wheat, a raspberry wheat, an IPA, and a black IPA. My favorites were the raspberry (can't resist the fruity beer, especially in the springtime) and the black IPA which was strong and faintly smoky. The atmosphere itself left much to be desired. I couldn't see getting tipsy and/or loud here (partly because it's a haul back down I-25, and partly because it's not the atmosphere to get tipsy/loud). There was one other group there in the corner, about three adults and two kids. The adults seemed very composed but I was fascinated by how many pints they were throwing back while T-dubs and I nursed our tasters. So, 3.5ish stars for the beers and beer options, and two for the ambience. I'm not really sure how the latter could be fixed aside from more rollicking, good-time type patrons and perhaps more engaging/informative counter folk. That said, I think it's cool that a town like Frederick has a brewery and I hope they do well. read more

Welcome to the neighborhood Echo. And you are a welcomed addition. Love the layout and how open the feel is. Love the way the outside and inside areas meld, it s a great place for a nice day. I have never been there on a crummy weather day, and interested to see if it feels cramped in the winter, but love it in the summer and fall. The pizza is pretty good and so is the beer. I think style wise they are a bit bland, but most of what they have is pretty darn good for the style. I have to admit, I was a little bummed when I found out that they were not going to be the barrel focused place that they said they were initially, but I am overly fond of barrel aged beers. On a whole, I am very excited for this new addition to Erie and encourage everyone to check it out. read more

This is a great brewery with a small town, neighborhood feel. We love to come here to watch football - the staff and the other patrons are so friendly. They recently started serving food and the shishito peppers are incredible!! The street tacos are a bit pricey and that's the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. The beer is on par with any major brewery - my favorite is the Razz and the bf likes the kölsch. It's definitely great to have a brewery in town; we ain't got much here in Firestone/Frederick! read more

This post isn't about Echo's beer but their food. First off, the Bavarian soft pretzel was the best I have ever had! My meatball panini was good. The only reason for the 4 and not 5 star review is because the pizza we had did have a burnt bottom. But that may have been a one time thing and I will try it again. On Iris and Colorado Blvd the yelp map is a little off. Once on Iris though you will see a huge sign on the side of the building that says "BREWERY" so it is hard to miss. I stopped in with a customer and it was a nice little place. I tried the brown and I thought it was pretty good. They also have free popcorn that helps the beer go down a little easier. They also have live music every so often. Seems like a pretty cool place, I will come back and try a few more of their beers next time. read more

3 of us went to this restaurant for the first time in 1/12/18 and walked out. We sat, got glasses of water and menus and 20 minutes later - seriously - 20 minutes! we still didn't have even one server look at us, let alone ask us if we even wanted something stronger than water. Younger guests who came in after us were attended to right away. Yes, we are seniors, but we're hungry and we tip huge when cared for. We walked out and the Mexican restaurant across the street took awesome care of us and the server got an amazing tip. Big mistake Echo! read more

Big thanks to Kristen N for telling me about this brand new brewery! We were running errands nearby and decided to stop and scope it out. I noticed on their FB page that the Oskar Blues Bonewagon would be there for lunch but unfortunately they pulled out of the parking lot as we were pulling in. We still had a great time checking out the four beers currently on tap. Surprisingly, their IPA was my favorite. It was crisp and citrusy but not too TOO hoppy for my tastes. I loved it. My husband enjoyed their Irish red. I also really liked their ESB and the light blond German style kolsch. My four sample glasses (served in handmade wooden taster holders) were $5 and pints are $4. I loved that you can get a "half" (10 oz) pint for just $3. That's the size of glass I drink beer out of at home, it prevents warm beers with slow drinkers as I tend to be. They also have a popcorn popper serving complimentary snacks. We chatted with the twin brother owners, and I think their wives, who were all very friendly and hopefully on the cusp of something big. Their beer menu promised a few new items soon: a milk stout, a Munich Helles and even non-alcoholic root beer! The gorgeous butcherblock-topped bar was also handmade by a friend and there is some cool local art on the walls. Plenty of seating at the bar, at tables and some comfy lounge chairs off the side of the entrance. Beautiful polished concrete floors. Nice view of the brewing equipment from the bar and a cute chalkboard menu. A few flat screen tvs too. This was a bit off my normal beer-drinking route but I really enjoyed the place, the people but most importantly the beers. They sell refillable growlers as well as a few different t-shirts and pint glasses. I'll be back! read more

I only stopped briefly on my Colorado Beer Tour. But I showed up while they were having their anniversary party, so the place was packed and there was live music. I tried their Barleywine which packed a whopping 14.5% Alcohol By Volume. I love Barleywines anyway, but this was spectacular. Good thing they only gave me 4 ounces. I also had a pint of their milk stout, which was very nice. A little more dry than most milk stouts, which was kinda nice. The best part of my visit was the service from Megan. She literally looked to be taking care of the whole place by herself. There was another bartender there who seemed to have her boyfriend sitting at the bar, and she stood talking to him for at least a half hour while I was there. It looks like a hire based on looks alone. But Megan was so friendly and helpful and running circles around the rest. I'll redo this sometime when I've got more time. But the service made the visit along with a spectacular Barleywine. read more

Great beers, good prices, fun atmosphere - even for families. No food ( but you can bring your own or order in from elsewhere ..sometimes food trucks on premises), free popcorn. Even a comfortable area in the back of the room with overstuffed chairs & sofa. TVs. Trivia on Tues nite about 7PM ..great fun. The 9-beer sampler (5 oz each) is a creative way to try everything they're making on given day, and you can purchase just one 5-oz sampler of any. The ROOT BEER (non-alcoholic) is the best I've tried; and hey offer cans of soda for non-drinkers. read more

This microbrewery is a Gem, not too far from I-25 and started in 2012. I started drinking the Balefire Irish Red and lo and behold, it won the 2012 GABF Bronze Medal & 2012 Silver Medal CO State Fair. You cannot go wrong with whatever they have on tap. A family run business means quality customer service. You have to come here and bring your friends and family. They have a nice patio outside to enjoy the Colorado sunsets so bring your shades :) read more

Stopped in after going up to the Erie area for pumpkin picking. Wanted to grab a beer or two before heading back down to Denver. Yelp to the rescue, just a few miles off I25, Echo Brewing was easy to find with a slightly tacky but easily recognized "Brewery" neon sign on the side of building. It was a chilly night Sunday night so we sat inside at the bar, but there was plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating space. The bartender was very friendly, happy and knowledgable about the beers served and was fun to chat with. His recommendations were good leading me to tasters of 4 very different beers including one of the absolute best black IPAs I've ever tried, despite an IBU of 100 there was a quick blast of hoppiness followed by one of the smoothest finishes of a high IBU beer I've ever had with no lingering bitterness. If I'd had a growler with me I almost certainly would have gotten it filled with this Black IPA (called Nocturnal). I also tried their Amber, Irish Red and "Frank!", all of which were good to above average as compared to other similar beers I've tried. My lady friend had a milk stout, that was very smooth despite not being poured on nitro, like the popular Left Hand Milk Stout. They do have some snacks and offer free popcorn which is always nice to have with a few beers. While I wouldn't have drive up there for this brewery alone, it was a perfect stop before heading home, and would highly recommend if you are in the area or will be passing through. Important to note there is an Echo brewing location in Erie, CO as well. We asked about the other location were told they had opened that more recently and offered a full kitchen there, however our bartender said the brewing operation there was much smaller. read more

Im kinda sad about having this as my tenth stop. Let me start by saying it wasn't bad... at all but with only 7 beers to taste and after 9 breweries... well its not anything to really write home about. They had a lot of great beer but not anything memorable. I did specifically like their rye and their red ale. Their flavors were traditional and welcoming for the regular beer palate. I look forward to what will come of this place. I think if they experiment with some of the basic foundational beer then it will be more diverse. read more

Echo was a pleasant surprise in an area with few breweries. I came in at open on Saturday morning and was greeted by Scott. He was awesome from the start, asking me questions and giving me samples to get a feel for what I like. I ended up doing tasters. They were all great, and easy drinking. As a bonus, Scott had extra burritos he brought in for his employees and I ended up breakfast burritos with my beers. I usually enjoy a few types of beers, but not enough to really enjoy the beer taster tray. Echo has so many easy drinking beers that I thoroughly enjoyed my taster tray! read more

Really enjoyed the visit here. Had a chance to try the Dunkelweissen (sp?), While this was apparently an experiment I hope it becomes a repeat offense! About the only issue with it was how easy it was to drink, that could sneak up on you! Also have to give credit to the Razz, while not a typical fan of fruity beer this one was not overpowering and actually quite nice. Echo has a good thing going, I'll look forward to another visit when I'm in the area. read more

Ordered a Quatro formaggi cheese pizza, deep dish Detroit style pepperoni and mush with arugula on top (Calda). As well as some cheesy bread. First off, this place is a tad bit hard to find the only sign they really have says brewery so if you aren't going for the beers it may throw you off a bit. Now to the food- the quatro was our favorite. The deep dish felt like it had a salad on top and that was unenjoyable to say the least. We didn't finish it because we didn't want to... and it's pizza so what does that tell you? (Hint: it wasn't very good!) the cheesy bread wasn't anything to write home about but it was a ton of cheese on bread. Just what you'd expect. Total was around $50 TO-GO and this is for two people, no drinks, two PERSONAL size pizzas and a small cheesy bread. Not sure if it was entirely worth the price but we want to try other things on the menu before we decide if this will be another drive by or a date night go to. Will keep you posted. I have been here 3 or 4 times since they opened a year ago. The beer is great. I am partial to the Kirby Kolsch. I'll confirm the sometimes different vibe about the place. I think the issue is that the two owners are ex-tech guys that got laid off from Big Blue. So it is two techies who turned hobby into their careers. So, I say bravo, and keep it up. read more
