Walking around the inner richmond this weekend and was in the mood for a breakfast sandwich and thank god my friend who I was with recommended Eats. To be honest, I had never heard of this place...I live in lower nob hill so I'm not in the inner richmond too often but WOWOWOW. Why are more people not talking about this breakfast sandwich?! Or maybe they are and I have just been living in a hole for the past 6 years of living in this city? I ordered the Veggie Breakfast Sandwich (Scrambled egg, arugula, avocado, gremolata, melted cheese, pickled red onion on grilled bread) and it was heavenly. The bread was grilled to perfection, the egg was scrambled just right, and the flavor was top-notch. Not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting too much from this breakfast sandwich, but the second I opened my to-go container at GGP, I knew it was going to be something special. And special IT WAS. Just saw a review here about how this breakfast sandwich was shareable and I would wholeheartedly disagree bc if you only have one half of it, trust me when I say that you are going to be devastated when you don't get to eat the second half. I usually see a long line outside of Eats but we came here the day after Christmas for brunch and only had to wait 15 minutes for a group of 3 of us. Service was steady and all of our food came out at a reasonable time. I ordered the Acai Smoothie Bowl and it was delicious. My other two friends got the Cowboy Burrito and it was pleasantly filling. You can also choose a side of potatoes or salad with it. They also have a friendly kid's menu of pancakes and eggs. I would say I wouldn't wait more than half an hour to eat here but if you want to experience the San Francisco brunch scene, you should definitely try Eats. read more

A pretty fine brunch spot to go to! Came here for Sunday brunch to celebrate some birthdays and already made a reservation ahead of time. Some people in our party were running late and one of the waiters at Eats just left our name up top to be seated on the waitlist. The atmosphere was very lively and nice outside. There was also a farmer's market and a nice bakery nearby so it would be a good way to check that out while waiting. Once seated, our waiter came by immediately to ask for drinks and to hand out menus. I ordered the Chicken and waffles and that came with a side of maple syrup and mushroom gravy. I also grabbed a mimosa. Everything was super delicious and fresh! My friends thought the dishes that they ordered was delicious and had no complaints. We just went here for the second time for our anniversary breakfast (pretend that's a thing). We split the breakfast sandwich and a small waffle with fruit and REAL MAPLE SYRUP. No extra charge for the actual real syrup everybody should have, just a smile and sweet goodness. The sandwich was amazingly good, all fresh ingredients and not greasy at all. The waffle was crisp on the outside, soft in the inside, with fresh fruit and real whipped cream... and did I mention no extra charge for REAL maple syrup?! We were so excited for the re-opening, and stopped by to support them today.. what a disappointment! First off, be aware, that the prices have gone up, and the new changes are not it. Super hospitable staff and an easy breakfast experience... I enjoyed a light breakfast consisting of avocado toast with a poached egg and a cup of their house coffee. They serve Equator, which is an awesome blend that will really get you ready for the day! I tried a bit of my friend's almond butter/banana toast. It was a healthy alternative to pancakes/waffles! On a friday morning me and the family came by and sampled some of the food. Let me break down what we got to sample and how all of it faired Chicken and waffles - chicken was crunchy and it was tender, flavor wise it was lacking seasoning, the gravy and mushrooms was thick not heavy more on the healthier side. If you are doing chicken and waffles you already know you are eating bad, mite as well have gravy with bits of sausage on it haha. On a whole the dish have its good points but lack of flavoring and portion wise I would not order it again. Came here with my boyfriend pre covid and had an amazing experience! The waitstaff are super nice and attentive, and the food is delicious! I don't usually order chicken and waffles, but this place is exceptional. I love how juicy the chicken is, and the batter all around is perfect; not overly seasoned like most places. The wait is worth it. The yelp app helps a ton. There are a lot of outside tables so be prepared to sit outside if you don't want to wait longer. The Mexican scramble with shredded pork was a mixture of 10+ tastes and textures that added up to a great dish. The fried tortillas stayed crispy while eating this large serving. I shared some of it with my wife. It is clearly enough to share, esp if you get the side of meat. My son lives close to Clement and frequents the restaurant and the bacon waffles. Eat the fuck up. Eats is a great neighborhood brunch/breakfast spot. My only complaint is that its not bigger! Its usually really packed as all brunch places are at prime brunch time. I feel like it takes a little longer than most other packed brunch places because its relatively small. I will its worth the wait, especially on Saturdays when there is also a farmer's market the street right over. You can go ahead and just hang out there and the shops nearby as you wait to be seated via the Yelp waitlist. Customer Service (4/5) My first impressions of the restaurant is that its very hipster vibes, definitely lots of sunlight and very cozy. Its also very warm in there usually so it gets real warm in there on a hot day. Once seated you get the menu very quickly and they do come and take your order relatively quick as well. It's usually pretty busy in there so I personally would rather they come and ask me what I would like than them forgetting. Once ordered, the food comes pretty fast and the food usually comes out at the same time so everyone at the table usually gets their food at the same time. Food/taste (5/5) I got the Huevos Rancheros and its my personal favorite. You can get meat added if you want but I find that you can get very full without it. Its very appealing presentation-wise although since there's so much on the plate it does look overwhelming. My only complaint is that because everything is stacked on top of the chips the chips do get soggy. However, there are still changes in textures with the crispiness of the chips and softness from the cheesy and beans. The pico de gallo also adds a nice refreshing flavor to it so that its not as heavy of a meal. I also got the strawberry lemonade. And you HAVE to get it. They make it fresh and its the best especially on a hot day. This is probably one of the best strawberry lemonade I've ever had. The strawberry really comes out and you can definitely taste the freshness. I always get it when I come. Overall thoughts/recommendations Eats is a great neighborhood brunch place. If you don't mind waiting then come whenever, but if you don't want to wait (on weekends, never been here on the weekday so that may be different) then come early or towards their closing time. Food here is pretty delicious no matter what you order. The one thing I recommend you trying is the strawberry lemonade because it is hands down the best thing on the menu. Pros: food, especially the strawberry lemonade, customer service. Cons: it can get warm in there especially on warm days, long waits on the weekend that can last up to an hour. Just tried Eats for the first time this weekend and I absolutely LOVED my experience here! This is a gem in the Richmond district and I'm so glad I found it. The food is very flavorful, the staff is incredibly friendly & attentive, and the vibes are immaculate. I ordered the veggie breakfast sandwich and added bacon - so good! The sandwich was kinda oily but it just made it even better, and the bread was perfectly toasted. Loved the option to add fries & apple juice for just $3 - highly recommend! Is it just me or wasn't Eats a mom and pop breakfast joint many years ago? Nothing fancy but great prices and a great place after a long night of drinking. At any rate, Eats now is a bit more upscale in their dishes but still casual and friendly atmosphere. The menu isn't huge but I find sometimes that's better as to not be overwhelmed with options. The quality of ingredients is fresh and service is quick. You have to go to the window order and they will bring your food to you. I have ordered the Belgian waffle with berries and oh my! The whipped cream was divine! So sweet and fresh. I've also had the huevos divorciados which is eggs soaked in a salsa verde and red salsa (I believe traditional divorciados has pork or meat and this dish is meatless). It is okay and not the best I've had. I do like their roasted breakfast potatoes that come with huge pieces of whole garlic cloves. Since this on Clement and 2nd area, parking may be difficult in the later morning hours but if you get there before 9, parking is usually easy. It's a small place so you may need to wait in line outside before ordering or sit outside so wear something cozy for colder days. It's not my favorite breakfast place but definitely one that has healthy and fresh options. read more

Very good food. I got the veggie scramble, and it was perfect. Side salad had a ton of goat cheese, the way I like my salads lol. Bf got the breakfast suite with blueberry pancakes, and I have to say we were also impressed. The pancakes were great. A side note, for the potatoes, they were actually 50% garlic cloves. They roast their potatoes with garlic, and I guess in our batch, there were not enough potatoes. Bf isn't a huge fan of eating cooked garlic, so I ended up eating them LOL. Side note: we ordered togo, and they gave us straws for our OJ but no napkins or cutlery. We had to stop by a Burger King and get some forks before our picnic. That was kinda disappointing. I know we're trying to save the environment and not waste supplies, but I'm pretty sure I was asked if I needed utensils and I said yes. I was not much of a fan about the food I ordered. The hostess was very nice and their ordering system is different in a good way. I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was just not good quality. Although the presentation was ok; the upset began when I began eating. The panko breading was coming off the flattened chicken like paper. The waffles didnt taste like much and the egg tasted weird. The meal was just not to my liking and my wife was not a fan of her meal either (nor mine and vice versa). The place is pretty small with limited seating (there's two additional tables outside). I ordered the avocado and salmon eggs benedict, and it was really good. There was a lot of avocado and the eggs benedict were cooked the right amount (my friend's was cooked a bit too much even though he ordered the same thing). I wish there was more salmon though because the avocado definitely overpowered it. Also, the English muffins were extremely hard to cut. It was way too rough (these English muffins were on the thicker side too). I think the highlight of this dish was the side of potatoes. Perfectly seasoned with a nice crisp. Ok this spot has some amazing brunch options, they get creative on their menu for sure. However, a lot of their options are subpar in comparison to the numerous other brunch spots in the city. Yes, the chicken waffles are amazing and that is why my review is a 4 star, and not 3. I have also gotten the Mexican salad, portabella benedict, and housemade waffles with berries. All of these things are okay, however, the portabella benedict is creative and I always like a benedict. My conclusion on this place is to go for the most unhealthy item you can find, and it's gonna be life-changing, but eats doesn't know how to execute on the healthier items. With seating located right along the Sunday morning farmers market, this is a perfect place to stop by for breakfast, brunch, or lunch while you browse the fresh goods. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Sandwich which was incredibly delicious and filling. It seems like a simple sandwich, with a fried chicken patty, guacamole, tomato, and pickles but the aioli spread drizzled on top pulls everything together and elevates the sandwich to another level.
