I was seeking a place for brunch in the area after a doctor's appointment I had in Sleepy Hollow, and Eatarry came up as an option close-by and with good reviews from a Google search. Well, that is an understatement! I have not been this impressed and pleasantly surprised in a very long time! From the lovely ambiance of the seating, both inside and out, to the classy place settings, and especially the food, this restaurant is a must for anyone looking for an exquisite dining experience! I felt like I was eating breakfast at the Culinary Institute of America! My Eggs Benedict were delicious, with a creamy and flavorful homemade hollandaise sauce and unexpected side salad. My side order of blueberry pancakes came with fresh fruit on the side of blueberries, strawberries, bananas and whipped cream. I felt as if I was being pampered. What a wonderful meal all around. I came to Eatarry because I had a meeting in the area and knew I needed to eat because it was going to be a while before I could eat again. I came in, the guy was on the phone, didn't look up to acknowledge me so I walked over to him and mouthed "anywhere?" and he nodded. I received a menu pretty quickly but that's about it. It took a while for him to check back in after that even though he walked past me several times. And that was pretty much the service - meh. The food though! I had an egg white omelette with mushrooms, spinach, and bacon. So these omelettes are either blah or okay. This was freaking amazing - the most perfect egg white omelette I've ever had. Breakfast food was excellent. Long list of teas served in the traditional style of small kettles with steamed tea. Coffee was very tasty and smelled fresh ground. We had pancakes and French toast that were both very good. Service was good. Only negative comment is service charge of 3.5% for using a CC, ok I get that you are passing on CC charges to the customer, but the 10% additional charge on top of that didn't make sense. I don't trust that that fee would go to the wait staff so I tipped another 20%. So all totaled I'm paying an additional 13% before tip, which does make sense if you tell me that 10% goes towards wait staff with the option to up the total to whatever you wish to pay. I feel a little duped here, but understand restaurants are struggling to stay afloat. Overall good experience. read more

She apologized but could have come over sooner - they seemed short-staffed. Our waitress also brewed the tea and played cashier. Three men working there didnt seem to be helping her as much as they could have. We ordered teas and coffee. All but one took about 7 minutes. My chai tea was supposed to take 6 minutes. Took 18 minutes and that's only because I asked for it twice. Food was delicious including omelettes, savory bowls and oatmeal. No one brought us a check. Went to counter, said I'd pay there. Our waitress/cashier gave me the wrong bill. Over by $30.00. When I pointed this out she became argumentative and implied I was the one who had made the mistake. Owner had to come over and resolve a technical issue as the wrong check was already marked paid. Apologies were omitted. Not smart to pick a fight with a customer when you made the mistake, especially when a tip hadn't yet been left. Tipped appropriately. Will never go back. Just had a surreal experience in Eatarry. After being seated, the owner starts Yelling abusively at his employee in a very loud voice. This went on for about 5 minutes straight. We were sat outside by the hostess - and we're waiting a long time to be served - I went into ask if we needed to move to get service- I guess an extremely mature 9-10 year old boy is the manager (he also bused tables, ran my check and sat people). He told me I wouldn't get service if I stayed outside and needed to move inside. So we did - it was hot and sticky inside but the food was otherwise great. read more

Disappointing experience. When we first arrived, three different people walked by us at the entry without even acknowledging us. Finally we asked someone if we could get a table, and he took us to a table. In general much of the staff seemed surly, and despite there being many workers, everyone seemed harried; thus, the entire space feels hectic and stressful. Service overall was extremely slow; we had to ask for every refill and extra. No one ever came to ask how we were doing or if we needed anything. We even had to wait 20 minutes after we were done eating just to get the check. Would be ok if the food was great, but we found it to be just average. The one exception was the pesto grain bowl, which was outstanding. Would not recommend overall, though. read more

You see ever since we had a formal afternoon tea in London, my daughter and I will now try any place that serves afternoon tea. So here we are at Eatarry and boy was it worth it. First, the service was fantastic!! Everyone there was so friendly and personable. We ordered the Afternoon Tea for Two. It came with a little bit of everything. We were able to choose two sandwiches, 2 scones and a little pot of tea each. We also received some small pastries and fruit which was lovely and it was served on the traditional 3 tiered tray. BTW, we both choose chocolate chip scones and they were served warm with a nice crust (not hard and dry) on the outside and soft with gooey chocolate chips on the inside. I put some strawberry jam on mine and it tasted like a chocolate covered strawberry!! Eaten with good cup of tea was just the perfect combination and the highlight of the experience for me. We will definitely be back to try their breakfast items and other lunch items but there is nothing like sharing an great afternoon tea with your daughter or friends in my opinion!! I stopped by here with my Dad for a quick breakfast. It was completely empty and we were helped as soon as we walked in. Although it was pretty small, it was a comfortable environment. I ordered a turkey bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and it came with a side of fries/chips. The bread that was used for this sandwich was spectacular, it was the perfect combination of softness and crispness. The food is delightful, and up until now I frequented Eatarry many times, but last week I was charged 3 times for one meal on my American Express. No one answered the phone during business hours when I called to dispute the charge, as advised by AMEX, so I sent multiple emails which have yet to be answered. The website claims they will respond in 48 hours, but I'm still waiting. Again-wonderful food-but disappointing business response. By the way, they also charged a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. Oh right-they charged me 3 times so make that a 9% surcharge. read more

My friend and I went to Sleepy Hollow for a day to escape the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, and stopped by for a satisfying pre-tour brunch. I ordered the polenta and my friend had the quiche. We both enjoyed our food; the polenta was interesting and flavorful though I did feel that the eggs were a bit rubbery and portions could have been bigger. This coffee shop is a cute local spot in Tarry Town. The menu has variations of food to choose from, from waffles, French toast (which is bomb aka amazing) poached eggs and polenta, to many sandwiches and paninis. The really interesting part of their menu is how their paninis are named after Sleepy Hallow attractions. So creative. My favorite from their paninis is the Kykuit! Aside from their yummy food, they have your favorite caffeinated, (and decaf) beverages! They make a great cappuccino. They also carry fresh lemonade, and tea! Silver Tips Tea has been added to the Eatarry menu so they now have multiple teas that can be made iced or hot. Overall, Eatarry is such a cute local coffee shop!
