We walked there but parking seemed available here and there on the street. Apparently they are a small chain and we were excited to try them out! Very busy even on a regular Monday morning. We got seated right away and overall it's a great and reliable breakfast place where you get good service and your coffee cup is always full. My friend had the bananas Foster waffles which he said were pretty darn good! I can't really eat sweet things like that in the morning but I had one quick taste in a definitely have that good bananas Foster taste you would get in New Orleans. I had The Benny which was amazing and full of flavor! Definitely a good way to start the day with a good protein laden breakfast with tons of flavor. Definitely would recommend again on a trip to Pittsburgh!

Told the young lady ok, I will call right back because we have a nut allergy here with the ordering party. She said "no problem, just call us back." I called back like 10 times with no answer. I assumed they took the phone off the hook because once I arrived I was told my order, to go will take 45 minutes and the phone didn't ring once. I never had a problem here since I've been coming here since the opening. Food is always good and the service is great also. But today, I was disappointed with how this was handled.

My daughter devoured her eggs, seasoned potatoes (I was fighting her for them-- rosemary potatoes were amazing!), and her toast. Sam was our server and she was open, engaging and very knowledgeable about the many choices on the menu. Dining area and bathroom were clean and uncluttered. We both had the biscuits and sausage gravy with home fries (and added onions and peppers although not really needed). The gravy actually had visible sausage and the gravy savory. The whole dish was seasoned just right although I added a little Frank's because, well it's Franks! I also made a menu suggestion for a redneck Benedict with biscuits, patty sausage, the sausage gravy and two eggs any style. Sam! I forgot to mention adding a sprinkle of shredded cheddar. I really like the Claire's veggie benny.. just wish there was more of it. My daughter ordered the strawberry crunch french toast- fun idea and it was good in small doses, but a lighter, simpler version would be better. Extremely greasy/ buttery and they added a bunch of red food coloring to the cream cheese filling to make it pink, which i think was really unnecessary. I don't even remember seeing any strawberries in it.

There are so many ingredients to choose from that you can truly build a nutrient-dense meal that's customized exactly how you like it. Even though the bowl doesn't look huge at first, they really pack it full, and it ended up being much more filling than I expected. I also appreciated the variety of dressings, although I found the bowl so flavorful on its own that I didn't even need mine. I ended up saving the dressing to use with another meal later. I've only been here once, so I can't say too much yet, but my first impression was excellent. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the customer service was great. If you're looking for a healthy meal that's both satisfying and packed with fresh ingredients, this is definitely worth trying. I haven't been here enough to make a fair comparison to Roots Natural Kitchen, but the concepts are similar. Hello Bistro seems to offer even more topping options, while Roots feels a little more focused on grain bowls. My favorite additions were the roasted beets and goat cheese, but honestly, there are so many combinations that you could come back several times and have a completely different bowl each visit. Considering how generous they are with the toppings, I think it's a really good value.

The burger could have been from Wendy's for how small and generic the patties were and how soggy the bun was. It had a few sorry little slices of avocado and some chopped red onion; again, just not much to get excited about. The fries were fine, though very skinny. Service was low-key and my food was ready quickly; in general this is good, but it added to my sense that the burger was glorified fast food. The restaurant has lots of seating.

Later that evening, when I finally had mine, I was extremely disappointed to discover that the custard filling was full of chunks/curds. It was nothing like the smooth custard I expected from a Boston cream pie. I called the diner later to let them know because I wanted them to be aware that something seemed to be wrong with that batch. I wasn't looking for a refund or a replacement--I simply thought they should know. Unfortunately, the manager who answered did not identify himself, and when I asked for his name, instead of simply telling me, he asked who I was. When I told him I was a customer who was there earlier in the day, he then identified himself as Chris. I also found his response to my concern to be very unapologetic, which was disappointing. From a place that prides itself on its desserts, I honestly expected better. I'm hoping this was just a fluke with one batch, because I would hate to see a longtime favorite change for the worse. But since the new owners took over, I have noticed that there just doesn't seem to be the same consistency that I remember from the previous owners. Very disappointing, especially because I had been looking forward to that Boston cream pie and had even recommended it to my friend.
