Before we start let me say I want to give this place 5 stars but I'm from Texas and can't. The food is great here. They don't claim best BBQ or Best Smoked Que. it's simple Hawaiian style BBQ. The brisket doesn't have the bark I prefer from coal smoking but is moist, had good flavor and best yet required no sauce. The Kalbi Brisket is a little drier but paired with the lilikoi sauce fares well. The Rib plate may be the best thing here. The reason?? They have a good pull to them and don't feel boiled or cheated. The baked on sauce gives a good flavor and the serving size is spot on. Over all I will recommend this place but please keep your parties small for quick in quick out service. Note to the owners. Add two dots to the Q on your sign. A good BBQ place should always have a Pork reference. BTW your staff is outstanding. read more

It's a late Sunday afternoon. My husband has been helping his father with re-screening our windows since our littlest cat (who is not so little) has been tearing through each of the windows because of who knows what, while I've been inside channeling my inner Marie Kondo, and organizing our room because I didn't realize that we had so many things that no longer sparked joy. Sadness, I know. As soon as my husband stopped to check in on me with aforementioned littlest cat (who at this point is trying to claw his way back to the newly screened windows to "test" them out), I ask him what's for dinner, to which, without missing a beat, he replies, "If you can order something for curbside pick-up within the next 30 minutes, and we don't need to get out of the car, I don't care." So, Easy Que it was! Their online ordering system was an absolute breeze to use, but my only complaint is that others had the same idea for dinner and the Kalbi Brisket sold-out as I was thinking of other items to purchase (but mind you, this is just a general first world problems complaint as opposed to for the business). More sadness, I know. But as soon as I changed up some of our menu items, and checked-out, I got a confirmation email stating our dinner would be ready in 20-25 minutes. It gave us time to finish what we needed to before heading out to pick-up our food. The parking lot only has two online-order pick-up stalls, and fortunately for us, there was no one else in the parking lot, so we pulled up, parked, and called them to let them know we were there for curbside pick-up. An employee came out to the car with our food shortly thereafter and had us sign off on the credit card slip before depositing our dinner into our car. Then we were on our merry way back home. Now, onto the food! I ordered 2 Brisket plates w/ Braised Red Cabbage, Smoked Brussel Sprouts, Cole Slaw, and Mexican Corn. I also opted for the pickles and corn bread for both of our plates, and all 3 BBQ sauces. We also got a Keiki Plate of Tater Tots and Mac & Cheese to share as well. This was like the ultimate combination of flavors, textures, and all the good things to be found in life. The Braised Red Cabbage had pumpkin seeds scattered about that added for a crunchy pickled vegetable that paired nicely with the fattiness of the Brisket. The Smoked Brussel Sprouts also paired well with the Brisket with its smokiness and bits of parmesan cheese. The Mexican Corn is always a a fan favorite for us because of its spice, acidity, and sweetness. And the Cole Slaw was actually a nice surprise, since I'm never really a fan, but it's very similar to Raising Cane's, which is light and crunchy, with not too much mayonnaise or sour cream. The tater tots were cooked to perfection and the mac and cheese was an absolute cheesy confection. My only minor complaint is that for the amount we paid, there wasn't a lot of brisket, and it would've been nice to have a little bit more meat to have with the sides. Overall, I think if you're interested in eating BBQ or happen to be in the area, I would recommend Easy Que for dine-in or take-out. Their BBQ is probably the closest that I've had to mainland BBQ that I've had in a long time (Oh, Dinosaur BBQ, how I miss you so). Plus, ordering was an absolute breeze and the employee who had helped us with our curbside delivery was quick and friendly. read more

This place is awesome. I've lived in Texas, GA and NC and this is by far the best. Their food is always hot. That is usually the Biggest downside with BBQ since it's made in bulk. However it is not an issue here and they have unique tasty sides. Worth the drive for sure. We had to get a little of everything. read more

The nice lady who sat us to our table as well as brought our food was great, didn't catch her name. Now the other lady who took our order and brought our drinks dipped after checking on us only once after her coworker brought us our food, lol didn't see her the rest of the night anywhere. Then a random worker had to ring us out because our server neglected us. Food was a 6/10. Granted we came at mid 6pm the cook must have said f it because everything was mediocre. We were lucky to try this new spot at the soft opening May 8th and have been back for dinner to check out the changes as they find their groove. I'm a HUGE Over easy fan, so expectations were high for their new bbq concept. They did not disappoint. Between the two of us, my husband and I have tried every meat on the menu. Our favorites are the brisket, Kalua pork and chicken wings in that order. Y'all. The brisket is legit. Fatty, Smokey, flavorful.. no need for sauce but if you must, any of the house sauces compliment the brisket beautifully. I LOVED THE WINGS!! I hope they stay. There was a bit of seasoning and tons of smoke on those wings. I'm drooling just thinking of them. The sides are all pretty decent. Our faves are the Mac & cheese, the okra and the house-made cornbread. We also love the soft serve swirl. The crusty crust crust on there just makes it so yum. A perfect way to end a fatty meal lol.. The Kalbi brisket was Pretty good overall. since we ordered 1 or two of everything I can say we would recommend this Joint to satisfy your craving. When you Travel as much as myself and have cooked And Smoked Meat for over 35 years I've learned to keep my expectations low. I prefer my Meat to be smoked a bit longer and sauces less sweet but if your Meat is tasty sauce is not really needed. Surprisingly the Thai sauce was my favorite. Y'all! This place is amazing! I definitely missed this style of barbecue since moving away from the south. Finding a place that does a creamy slaw so light and refreshing is IMPOSSIBLE on island. Their brisket is probably as close to heaven you'd ever get without meeting the big man upstairs. Brisket is so juicy and flavorful with the right amount of fat to give it that melt in your mouth factor. The ribs are sauced to perfection without so much excess that you're a mess but enough extra for you to scoop it off the plate with your meat. Pork belly is just a pleasant surprise of melty goodness as well. Kal-Bi brisket is a nice leaner cut that is still somehow just as juicy as the original brisket. The best part is that all of these meats are perfect as is or complimented by one of their 3 sauces. Li hing mui sauce is a nice surprise for me since I'm obsessed with li hing mui. Kailua green is light sauce that has a nice little kick. Their house made namesake sauce is a traditional B-B-Q sauce. I've tried all the sides except the pickled okra because I'm just not a fan of that but this place has me wanting to try it just to see if they can change my mind. From their Mac and cheese to their cornbread this place has not disappointed. Came tonight and they oversold their brisket so we sadly didn't get any but the chef was so nice about it, that experience alone I would come back for because it shows that they genuinely care about their customers. Staff is always so pleasant even when they are absolutely slammed they find that extra second to ask how you are doing (when greeting you, when asking if you need anything after bringing food and as we left to make sure everything was ok) and that really makes all the difference. I have been thinking about this place ever since and I came back again today and brought my cousin and his family. We ordered the ribs, brisket, ck wings, pork belly and 1 of every side dish. (I know.. that was a lot for our party of 7, but we were hungry) Everything was bomb.com!! We live here but my husband is from the Midwest, we know and can appreciate Southern bbq's.The 3 different bbq sauces were all on point. But my fav was the Li Hing Mui which had a little kick. YUM!! Emma was an amazing server, and carried out every request with speed and accuracy. I got the two meat plate with the melt in your mouth brisket and thick and fatty pork belly. My sides were Brussel sprouts and Mexican corn and they were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The ambiance inside is beautiful with wooden interior reminding me of a ranch. We're stuffed!! We just moved to Kailua and this was our first time at Easy 'Que. Service was friendly, and the food was delicious! We had the brisket sandwich and the brisket plate, both with a side of mac and cheese. The sandwich had a mild horseradish cream and an awesome crunch slaw! It paired well with their three in-house sauces (the green one was surprisingly delicious!). And the mac and cheese had good flavor (nothing worse than bland mac!). We sat outside which was nice for the covered awning. It'd be great if they weren't located right on a street corner, but we all know real estate is a premium in Oahu so don't let that deter you! We came on Mother's Day so I'm not sure if it's always this busy, but we waited 30ish minutes to sit and another 40ish for our appetizer. The spinach artichoke dip was perfect (menu noted this item takes a little longer to come out). All of our food and drinks were great and we got their last rack of ribs (around 2pm). This was sooo good. It hit the spot for me. The waiter recommend me the chee hoo chili and it was amazing!! The brisket meat was soft and the chili didn't over powder the rice. We ordered the brisket sandwiches, KFC sandwich, and the burnt ends to take out. The process was fairly easy except we were placed on hold twice before we ordered. Came in to pick up our order and was asked if we wanted barbecue sauce and utensils. Heck yeah! Who wouldn't want sauce from a barbecue restaurant? It's your signature right? Unfortunately, we wouldn't know because they forgot to give us the sauce and the utensils. Food: Brisket sandwich: Meh. I forgot the sandwich came with sauerkraut so was a little thrown off by the sour taste which made the meat taste sour. Suggestion would be to use cole slaw instead. I wasn't a fan of the ciabatta bread and thought a softer bun would go better with the brisket but I guess it's a matter of preference. Their Barbecue sauce would have probably made it better. We had to settle for our KC barbecue sauce in our fridge. KFC sandwich: I was definitely looking forward to this sandwich. The chicken looked ginormous in the pictures. In person, it is tall but that's because they stack a chicken cutlet cut in half on top of each other. The cutlet itself is very thin. I would say thinner than chicken katsu so I could only taste the breading and not the chicken. Others agreed as well. You could tell the chicken was presoaked (maybe too long) prior to coating it because the chicken wasn't fibrous anymore. This sandwich was similar to another fast food chicken chain made popular by their chicken sandwiches but surprisingly the fast food sandwich had triple the amount of chicken. Burnt ends: They we're a bit salty and the portion was small (1/4 lb?) . Mac and cheese (shells) was pretty good. We enjoyed that the most. Staff was ok not the friendliest when inquiring about their food items but maybe because it's loud in the restaurant so it was difficult to hear. read more

I have to say, Im over this place..... This is one of my favorite places in Kailua to eat. But, for about the past 2 months now, every single time I go to order online, they are out of the Kalbi brisket, regular brisket or the ribs..... Really the only good reasons to eat here, as I could get Kalua pig just about anywhere you go here in Hawaii... I just dont understand why they don't smoke more brisket to keep up with demand. It's both a blessing and a curse to live not far from Easy Que. we'll order up when we're nearing the end of the work day and easily pick up the food from the reserved pickup parking spots. I live for their bbq (This is from someone who moved to the south at one point motivated by bbq) and always go for the pork belly, ribs and brisket with Mac and tots for sides. This last time we tried the pickled Brussels sprouts as a side and were pleasantly surprised by them! Good stuff overall... obviously since we keeping coming back for more! read more

While the local additions like li hing mui based sauce makes some think that this is a another fusion experience; this is so far from the truth. Easy BBQ has some great authentic BBQ. This place is a gem! The service was friendly and prompt and the food was seriously delicious and generous portions. The fried chicken sandwich was so crispy, so big I could barely put it in my mouth, with crunchy lettuce, and a tasty honey mustard sauce. The half rack of ribs is ginormous and tender. The three homemade bbq sauces are so tasty. On Wednesdays they had a $5 draft beer special as well. The mac and cornbread my first time tasted delicious, including the brussel sprouts, but the mac was kinda greasy. The second time a different day I ordered the same things cause they were my favorite and I was let down. The cornbread the second time was half the size and the mac was extremely greasy. This was our first time coming since we saw they opened and we really liked it! The decor inside is cute and it's such a perfect place to go for a date night. The staff was very helpful and suggested the dragon fries which were so good. We were both really hungry and got the plate with two meats and a side for $20 and the happy hour fries for $6 to share and it filled us up.
