Do these people pay for reviews? I'm baffled at these nonstop five stars for chain-restaurant quality. Bad service, bad food (the Mac and cheese sauce split and was greasy af), and hilariously small portions for the so-called family meal. While my family eats meat, I don't - so checked the menu on the site, which said they had BBQ tofu. Perfect. So jazzed. Turns out that menu on their site was old (??) and they couldn't do a simple quesadilla without the brisket. I'm more than happy to pay the actual price listed for less food (I get it, the cost of the item is the cost of the item), but apparently it was too difficult to just... leave the brisket off. I was actually headed to L&L barbecue when I saw people sitting outside this place and I made a detour stop. Upon entering we were seated almost immediately. Our server was very attentive and our food came out fast. We got to sit outside and the views even of the basic street are nice. They had these electric fly swatters that really helped keep the flys away. The brisket was okay but THAT PORK WAS AMAZING! The strawberry lemonade was refreshing and actually complimented the food. Hubs wanted to try the bbq. No parking in their lot, so we parked at the Foodland lot. It was busy when we arrived but we were seated quickly. Hubs ordered the Sticky ribs - he enjoyed them. The grilled cornbread was also good. He also ordered a 1/2 lb of the brisket which was flavorful. I went with the shrimp and grits and, unfortunately, it was not my fave. The dish noted fried shrimp - they were batter fried but soggy and not crispy so there was no texture to this dish and it was bland, too. How does a waterfall hike and bad drivers result in health conscious me ending up at Easy Que? Long story short, an idiotic Oahu driver decided to park her red Lexus SUV in a way that blocked every driver at the Lulumahu fall parking from accessing town bound Nuuanu Pali Drive. So off to Kailua we go for brunch. Wanting to try something other than our normal brunch routines (no offense Over Easy, Banyan Craft Kitchen, Kalapawai, and Boots and Kimo, you're all great!), we decided on Easy Que. I've driven past it many times but never sampled their offerings. Needless to say, I was very happy we just did a hike as Easy Que is seriously heavy food. We got the Kailua Hot Chicken Sandwich with Brussels sprouts and the Three Little Pigs Sandwich with mac and cheese. The fried chicken sandwich was delicious, crispy and flavorful with lots of juicy chicken. The breading to meat ratio perfect and the spice was balanced. Lettuce was crisp and the bun was soft. The three little pigs sandwich came with bacon, Portuguese sausage and Kalua pork as the three little pigs. It also came with fried onion strips and classic bbq sauce. The stand-out was the Kalua pork which was tender, juicy, and extra flavorful. Neither of the sandwiches needed any extra sauce, but Easy Que provides three home made sauces, the classic BBQ, crack seed hot sauce, and a Thai green stye chili sauce. I preferred the first two, but my partner loved the Thai style sauce. As for the sides, the shells in mac and cheese were a bit overcooked but were covered in a balanced cheese sauce. The dairy also can help cut the heat if you go overboard on the spice. The Brussels sprouts reinforced my belief that you can't make Brussels sprouts taste good without making them extra unhealthy as these were covered in a fatty, sugary sauce. Delicious, but basically devoid of any health benefits. Don't pretend you're eating healthy by eating these. We also got the grilled corn bread with honey butter which was also delicious. Parking is shared and can be a struggle. Staff are polite and efficient. Bathroom is clean. Just make sure your driver is awake and good to drive because this place is Kanak Attack made manifest. My partner knocked out after the meal, going full blown passenger princess Sleeping Beauty all the way back into town. read more

My friend and I walked past this place and I really love the wafting smell of bbq. I sat down and had the brisket loco moco with the 7min soft boiled egg. The richness that came off the yolk just oozed into the brisket sitting on top of a bed of rice surrounded in a delicious moat of gravy. We came on a weekday and made a reservation (not needed for us) and preordered some food (probably recommended). I really wanted to try the poutine because it's hard to find on island. It did not disappoint. Such a deep beefy flavor happening in that gravy. I would have liked more cheese, though. Those brussels sprouts were pretty great! I would definitely order those again. They are different from the brussels sprouts on the sides menu - those were pretty good too. The burnt ends were actually a little disappointing, not much of a portion, and not very burnt-y? It looked like regular slices of brisket. But it was tasty and tender. I also ordered a lilikoi sweet tea which was clearly made from real lilikoi, but actually needed more sweetness. Courteous and well versed with the menu. We decided to go with the burnt ends as our appetizer, we shared the 1/2 Saint Louis style ribs with baked beans and coleslaw as our sides. The burnt ends were well seasoned and the meat was tender. The ribs were tasty. The larger ribs were fall off the bone tender. The small side of the rack was a little dry and crunchy. The creamy cole slaw was ok. I prefer more of a vinegary flavor. The Baked Beans were mixed with a few pieces of brisket meat. I didn't care for that addition. Since we were in kailua picking up mail at our old house my husband said if there's parking let's go eat ribs. I said ok. Well the ribs were ok but I still like baby back instead of st Louis style ribs. So were order the half of rack bake beans and Cole slaw. We also ordered burnt brisket ends for appetizer. YUM. I was craving brisket for a very long time and I finally got it. The food here is great. I love putting the brisket inside the Hawaiian bread roll with the bbq sauce. The only thing that was missing, was the pickles and onions that I request extra of, but ended up getting none of it.
