Easy 'Que and their partner restaurant Over Easy are my go-to spots in Kailua for consistent high quality comfort food and friendly service. Bonus points for being dog friendly the restaurant itself is cutely decorated and fairly small, but also has outdoor seating which is nice in the evenings. My main struggle with most Kailua restaurants is parking. Luckily, they do have a small lot in the back, but if full, you have to test your luck with street parking. The food itself is truly craveable! I find myself dreaming of the Mac and cheese and fried chicken sandwich. The Brussel sprouts and homemade cornbread are also top tier. The drinks are decent, but a little pricey; the food is definitely the star of the show for me. So if you're looking for delicious comfort food for the whole family, this is the place! read more

Easy Que is your Kailua option for BBQ, though not the traditional kind as their food incorporates a local twist. Think kalua pork for pulled pork and crack seed BBQ sauce. The meat I enjoyed the most was the pork belly for its juiciness, but it was also very fatty. The brisket was dry. The ribs were tender and still had a chew. The last time we picked up food they added a $2 surcharge for making a takeout order. I'm guessing the cashier was new, since when we asked how many bones was in a full rack, the cashier told us "it's a pound". And when we asked again, had to ask someone else how many bones there are. We ordered a full rack of ribs, but when it came time to pay, was told they ran out of full racks so we were charged for two half racks instead. This is hands down the best bbq I have ever had. The 3 little pigs sandwich was amazing, Brussels sprouts amazing. Pork belly amazing, brisket amazing, cornbread amazing, baked beans amazing. Since there is only one and it is family owned , make it part of your bucket list when visiting Oahu! We can not forget the service. The people assisting us were down to earth, friendly and fun. How the mighty have fallen... Easy 'Que used to be a TOP 3 food spot in all of Oahu for my wife and I! A true 'hidden gem' on the island's East Shore that brought some of the best brisket we've ever had. A stop at Easy 'Que was a MUST. Last week we arrived starving after a morning of snorkeling in Hanauma Bay. Parking is always tough in the back of Easy 'Que, but never a deal breaker. My wife and I walked in excited! After all, Easy 'Que was one of our favorites! However, the vibe seemed off the second we stepped inside. The friendliness and 'Aloha Spirit' we had loved about this place was absent. It was a completely different restaurant than we'd remembered. Our hostess had a poor attitude which immediately rubbed us the wrong way. You could tell she didn't want to be there. We wanted to eat outside (who wouldn't, you're in Hawaii?), but she seemed bothered by the fact that she'd have to lower the shade curtains so we could do so. We sat outside waiting for her to lower the curtains but after some time we moved relocated ourselves because the sun was in our eyes. Mind you, neither my wife nor I are 'Karens' by any means! We don't expect much from restaurant staff and we get they're overworked and underpaid (business owners- stop being cheap and pay your people better). But there's no need to be passive aggressive to customers who wish to dine in 'good faith!' (And are excited to eat there!) My wife and I ordered their brisket meal to split. For sides we chose mac n' cheese, Brussels sprouts, and 'potato mac.' The food arrived EXTREMELY quickly, suspiciously so... like "fast food" level quick. For some reason Easy 'Que doesn't bring food on trays like they used to either. They arrive on small plates that spin, making the food difficult to share. To our dismay, the brisket was VERY dry! As if it had been sitting out some time. My wife and I cook a good amount of brisket at home and can tell when it's not fresh. Easy 'Que's brisket definitely was questionable. Our sides were fine, but you don't go to a BBQ joint expecting the sides to outshine the meat(s). We ate our mediocre food quickly to "get it over with" and dipped. The whole experience was a bummer and my wife and I left very disappointed. We've hyped up Easy 'Que to our friends and family for years! And when you're on vacation with limited time you have to choose your restaurants carefully. We were incredibly confident that Easy 'Que would be one of the best meals of the trip, as it had been the previous times we had visited. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The food was delicious. Had the two meat platter which comes with two sides and a choice of bread. Took the brisket and the Kailua pig as meat. Sides I took the Brussels and mac and cheese with a grilled cornbread. The meat was so soft and tender. It didn't feel reallly fatty either. It had the perfect amount of fat to make sure that it would be moist. I honestly didn't need a sauce but Ioved the crack seed BBQ sauce. The Brussels were charred and perfectly seasoned. There were sunflower seeds mixed in. The Mac and cheese was a little too heavy for me. Just one bite and I think I had enough. Didn't want to fill up on the mac and cheese. I've been meaning to try this BBQ place for years! I wish I had tried it sooner! It is delicious. I had the brisket & chicken plate, and sides of potato salad and brussels sprouts. I chose the grilled cornbread as my bread side. Omg- so so good! All of it. They had a special that day of Thai ribs... and my friend ordered those and she said they were amazing. It looked and smelled so good. I can't eat pork l, so I didn't try it, but from the way they described it and the way it smelled. I wish I did. The server said she actually comes just for that dish when they have it. Honestly, all the sides are really good too, especially the brussels sprouts. I mean, how often does a barbecue place have a healthy side??? So put your guilt to rest from eating barbecue and order a side of brussel sprouts, your mouth and your body will thank you! The server was super friendly, the service was really fast! I will definitely be going back. I could see this being a good place to go for dinner or your lunch break. I went with friends and we split brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and whole bunch of sides. BBQ can vary in quality from mediocre to melt in your mouth -- this is definitely the latter. The brisket was so tender and had a nice smoke ring on it. For me, this is the quintessential BBQ offering and Easy 'Que does an amazing job! The sides were all fantastic and the atmosphere was great. My favorite was the brussel sprouts. The corn bread was simple, but delicious. We always enjoy eating here. The service is great and the friendly staff love having our Golden Retriever outside with us! Food is consistently good quality. They have 3 different BBQ sauces to choose from. The standard sauce is awesome! The tater tots, mac and cheese, and cornbread are great sides for the tender brisket! It's a little noisy outdoors sometimes but the friendly staff more than make up for that. The cocktails here are great too. We especially love their slushy drinks. We live right here in Kailua and tonight was the first time we ordered takeout from Easy Que. The restaurant was bustling, clean and appealing, busy with patrons eating in and others picking up food. We were greeted warmly and waited on immediately. It was all packed and ready for us to pick up. Service was exceptional...workers were sincerely happy to make sure we received our order and everything we needed. Once we got home, our food was outstanding, super onolicious...it tasted homecooked, like it had been cooking, simmering long time. The brisket was the cooked to perfection and savory tasting. The grilled cornbread perfectly complemented the brisket and the creamy slaw was awesome. We can't wait for the rest of our family to share an Easy Que meal with us. Came here for lunch while stopping by in Kailua. We started with the lilikoi iced tea which was a little sweet but lasted our whole meal. Then I got the avo toast which came out as a plate that you put the toast together. liked that concept. The pesto was so yummy as well as the homemade focaccia bread. My bf got the brisket plate with mac n cheese and tater tots. The brisket melted in your mouth. The mac and cheese was a white cheese that made it 10/10. No orange junk. There were lots of drink specials, we didn't get but will have to come back to try again!! There was also a daily side which was kimchi. We sat outside which there was inside seating. the inside had a garage door which created a good ambiance. We were served right away which was surprising since it was a Sunday morning. I mean WOW. Best BBQ on Oahu and one of the best meals I've had on island. The Brussels are fantastic. The in house Portuguese sausage and brisket were to die for. I loved all of their BBQ sauces! They have an awesome drink menu and the slushies are boozy and delicious. The staff was super nice and made great recommendations. They have their own parking lot. There's lots of indoor and patio seating but they're pretty busy so be prepared to wait 10-30 minutes on any given day! Weekends are probably busier. Overall, 10/10 would come back! read more

I'm glad I read the reviews beforehand. Make sure to get a reservation, especially if you're going during peak hours. They get busy! The food was great. The meat was cooked so well - I especially loved the pork belly. The meat was soooo soft. They have 3 different sauces at the table for you to try with the meat. I personally liked the original, but one of my friends really liked the green sauce. My only issue was that the food was not hot. Or even warm. We came on a Sunday morning for the brunch but found irresistible options on both sides of the menu. The service was great, very polite and helpful. It was nice to have the outdoor and indoor options, we were seated by the open garage style door so best of both worlds. I've had this place book marked for a hot minute! We were lucky enough to get seated right away. We wanted to try the "very limited quantity" starters and OMG, I am so glad we did. My husband and I couldn't stop saying how delicious the brussel chips were! We opted for the brisket and pork belly which were cooked perfectly! All of the sides were flavorful and we had to get a second order of the cornbread! We were starting to get full, but had to try the Thai sticky ribs because it was a special menu item, highly recommend! & of course there's always room for dessert. The que cake was very unique and delicious! The raspberry and mango sorbet was refreshing and a good way to end our meal! The service was great and we were checked on constantly. Got to easy que right when they opened at 9:30. I was the first person there so I sat at the bar since it was just me having a girls day and treating myself. The bartender was very sweet and made sure to keep the mimosas coming. I really loved the Lilikoi one. It was the perfect addition to my BBQ bowl. I wish that I could have gotten the egg over medium but they said I could only do scrambled. The meat was very crispy and flavorful. The bowl was huge and I didn't finish it all. I liked the 3 different types of BBQ sauce they had to choose from, the sweet one was my favorite. Definitely coming back to try more menu items. Every time I try something new, it is wonderful, and then I have to decide how much room I have for what I actually came for! Here are some of the items that wont disappoint.... Their trio of barbecue sauces So...I feel that your bbq sauces show who you are...and EasyQue is no exception. Chef driven, complex, and mouth watering....the three different bbq sauces not only stand on their own, but allow you to make the same meal taste three different ways! This is gonna sound strange, but once I'm seated, I start eating the sauces. I put a little on my finger, and taste them. Every time I am blown away at how the intensity and depth of flavor in these sauces makes my mouth water. I have said this outloud on numerous occasions, but these sauces are so delicious, they could easily be spun down into savory cocktails...they are that ono!!! The ribs are always my favorite, as I am a rib guy. Tender and fall off the bone, with enough chew and enough smoke...meat greatness. The brussel chips are very, very addictive. These crispy pupus are tossed with parmesean and force the table to fight over who gets the most. The burnt ends are always delicious. The ones here are soft and tender, but still have the flavor from the crust. I can make a meal out of just these! Ok, maybe a meal out of three orders....but you know what I mean! Believe it or not, the burrata salad is real nice. I may have needed some extra toast to sop up all the goodness, but I would get it again. Easy Que is a place to come when your hungry. But it's also a place to come when a lot of other restaurants have let you down. This place was fantastic. There was a long wait to eat inside so we decided to order food to go. It was still about a 35 min wait for the to go food but we didn't mind. We figured if people were willing to wait over an hour then there had to be something special about this place and sure enough, there is!! Service was incredible and very helpful with giving us suggestions off the menu. They also took my allergies very seriously and triple checked everything to make sure I'd be okay to eat what I ordered. My husband and I both got the brisket, PERFECT. It was cooked so well and the seasoning was simple but really highlighted the brisket over all. It was mostly meat and not a lot of fat for both of us which we really appreciated. My husband got the pork belly and the flavoring on it was sensational. Sweet, salty, and once again cooked perfectly. The huli huli chicken was just okay to me, not much as far as flavor and I thought the chicken was a little dry but the rest of the meal made up for it so I didn't really care. Baked beans were some of the best I've ever had in my life and I loved that it had thick pieces of brisket in it. We honestly enjoyed everything we ate here and would definitely eat here again. Prices were fair for the portions you got. You really can't go wrong eating here. I had easy Que last night. I haven't been here since January. I have been wanting to go, but couldn't line that up with a day other than Monday or Tuesday. The waitress was friendly as usual. Everything was the same, except they changed the baked beans and also the meats seemed a bit dry and not as tender as normal. It seems nit picky, but there's a difference between cutting with a fork and having to use a knife. The baked beans seemed darker and had less spice to it. The food was still pretty decent though. Honestly, super cute Hawaii vibes and really friendly staff! ***What I ordered **BBQ Bowl (8.5/10) ~ This is SUPER filling and at the price point they sell it at, makes sense. The BBQ bowl came with their pork bell, chick pea, corn, tomato, and this shredded pork (not too sure). I highly recommend eating this bowl with their BBQ sauce. The sauce is smokey, sweet, and tangy! It pairs PERFECTLY with the pork and everything!! Anyways, the only reason why I didn't give this a 10 was because a lot of the food items in the bowl were cold :( Overall, Awesome staff, good food, and lovely atmosphere! I just have driven by 50 times before taking this place in one rainy Sunday in Kailua. There's parking in the rear of the building but be mindful the lot is shared with other tenants. Be aloha. Ambiance is on par with most modern bbq places in the states. Rustic and durable dining room with a wonderful waft of wonderful bbq aroma filling the senses as you walk in. I chose the 3 Little Pigs sandwich with tots. It did not disappoint. Pork, bacon and sausage stacked high with onion rings as a topper. Wun-der-full!! It'll fill you up!!! I'm not a bbq connoisseur but I've eaten at most bbq hotspots around the country; Texas, KC and Deep South so I know at least something. Is Easy Cue in the same algorithm? Perhaps. Gave more than 18% tip on a takeout order and the brisket was cold and ribs were tough. I prefer Ruby Tuesday or Chilis ribs over these. I forgot I ordered the ribs before and didn't like them. It's too peppery. The corn bread tasted a little old. The chicken looks dry but didn't try that yet. Definitely returning and hopefully on Thursdays again. Loved the 3 slushie choices esp the basil bourbon/lemonade and the lilikoi/tea, as the mango was too sweet for me. Can mix 2 together. Slushies for $6 on Thursdays but $12 if wanna takeout in the smallest container so only enjoy there. Also must have the Parmesan Brussels sprouts chips as so light and addicting. Also the brisket burnt ends to sample and returning to try a brisket plate with the molasses bbq sauce while the Thai green one and chili one was good as well. Parking is basically impossible so park a block away on street fronting Foodland or lot. Opens at 4pm and no earlier or you will wait in hot sun by trash areas but get there before 5 pm because it fills up. One you are in the space is very clean and hip. read more
