Went here on a Wednesday night for dinner with a party of 6. There was no line so we were able to get our food quickly! The staff were very friendly and helpful too! I ordered the Teriyaki Ribeye! It normally comes with macaroni salad too but I opted out because I have some food allergies so I just got an extra side of rice instead! The beef was very tender and it was thinly sliced. At first glance, the kitchen in the back appears to be extremely unclean and the ovens/grills appeared to have layers upon layers of grease. I ordered the garlic chicken, which came out at room temperature as it had been sitting out in the front window uncovered. Did not finish even half the meal, and was left feeling nauseated. Parking is hit or miss due to competing venues but there's a huge lot at Target within walking distance so we parked there. Always a line but moves relatively smooth. I had the Gaelic chicken, teriyaki beef combo and some katsu chicken too. The garlic chicken is really good but I got a lot of fried crisp that lacked meat on some parts. The beef flavor was unique and compliments the rice but quite salty. The plates come with rice and mac salad but even eating that didn't completely fill me up and I got the regular, not the mini. We decided to get dinner from here since we were on this side of the island. I got the garlic chicken and roast pork plate. It was horrible! The roast pork was so bland- no flavor at all even with the gravy, it was like brown gravy but no taste too. Onions were raw on one side then burnt on the other. The rice was so mushy! The two stars is solely for the garlic chicken- lots of flavor and crunchy when I ate it. My husband got the loco moco and it wasn't that great. The hamburger was hard and the gravy had no taste. Called in an order for garlic chicken and fried saimin. Pikup was in an hour or so.. Both were small orders. I figured according to the pics on their yelp page it be like 30 sum bucks each. Total was 105 dollars! Dayum inflation is f'real! Upon getting to the party less than a mile away. Chicken was already soggy and pretty crappy tasting. Im not sure if they changed the recipe but its not the same as when they first opened. The next dish... Fried Saimin.‍ who the heck maked fried noodles with instant saimin? Wtf???? I had never been to this restaurant before, but it seems to be a favorite among locals. This time, I ordered the Kalua Pork Mini Bento. When you order, you can choose macaroni salad or salad. I ordered the Kahlua pork, so that I didn't hesitate to choose the macaroni salad. Even though it is a minibento, it has a good amount of food. One thing that bothered me was that even though the menu indicated that the Kahlua pork came with cabbage, it was only pork. The price is also reasonable. I thought it was very impressive that they were offering meals at reasonable prices even in Kailua. You can eat your lunch at the tables with parasols outside the restaurant, but Kailua Beach is nearby, eating your lunch on the beach is also recommended. read more

Terrible!! I placed an online order at 5:30 PM and made payment online. Restaurant hours says it closes at 7 PM and my food is supposed to be ready by 6 PM. I got to the restaurant about 5:50 PM to pick up my food and it was CLOSED - all the lights were off and the doors were locked. So annoyed as this order was placed for some workers at a job site and I had to leave to pick up the food for them while bringing with me 4 little kids. Mind you, it's already a struggle getting all of them into the car and buckling all four of them just to unbuckle them to pick up the food, and walk up to the restaurant to find out that it's closed. Why does online even let you place an order if the restaurant is not open? End result, a bunch of hungry construction workers did not get dinner that night. This was embarrassing for me as it was my job to make sure food was provided in a timely manner before they left the job site. read more

Prices are ridiculous and sad to the local people. 2.29 for a can of Hawaiian sun juice...$6 for garlic tots that's not even crispy and should be made to order but still they come out as if they were sitting there all day. I always loved the hamburger steak here cuz it's all homemade patties now barely any flavor say it with me SEASONING. The gravy tasted bland the worse I've ever had. It was flavorful, crisp and well cooked. The fried fish was nothing to write home about, and I wished the mac salad had more flavor or acid. Tasted like macaroni and mayonnaise were the only two ingredients. There is a outdoor patio with several tables but no inside seating. It was mostly couples getting a quick bite for lunch. This is one of my favorite breakfast and lunch spots and Kailua. I am a frequent visitor and I absolutely adore this place. It's quick and food is delicious. I have tried many dishes from here including aloha breakfast, empty da fridge rice, teriyaki burger, garlic fries, loco moco, garlic chicken, stew. None of them disappoint ! love that some of the menu comes in mini size as well. They have outdoor seating that's shaded which is also a plus. I know covid restrictions has done some real damage to all of our local businesses so I'm going to try and be a gentle as I can. The food here hasn't been as good as it used to be. The customer service is always good, the lady that works the front is always pleasant. The portions are almost half of what it used to be. The quality of ingredients is sub par. I know Fatboy's has closed 2 locations in the last 3 years. That's rough. Kailua location is the worst one I've been to. I used to love the Haleiwa location but that's gone now. Kalihi location was pretty decent too but that is also gone. I'm sorry for the bad review but I have been let down the last 3 times I ate here. read more
