This place is amazing, the best food I had in my whole trip! Moco Loco was amazing, with brisket, rice and 2 over-easy eggs, just the flavors were outstanding. Pancakes are also amazing with coconut flakes. Inside and outdoor seating. Parking on the street... I'd definitely be back to this great restaurant.
First time trying and it was great! Sat at the countertops which was cool to see how the kitchen flowed. Portion sizes are huge! Definitely was able to have leftovers for the next day.
The only reason this got 4 stars from me is because parking is not easy. There's a parking building around the block and street parking. If you don't know that ahead of time you'll go around the block a few times lol. The service was great. Our server gave her faves and was very attentive. The seating is inside or out and inside has AC which is fabulous during these hot summer days. Food was awesome. Kids meal came with 3 big pancakes and a meat and it was huge. Total steal for $8! The special loco moco had tons of flavor with the shoyu braised meat. The kalua hash was nom nom nom! The sweet potato in it gave it a really good sweetness with the savory! Great brunch spot!

Kailua, in my mind it's home to many great breakfast shops. Over Easy now has a page in my book of favorites. Staff and service - excellent, food - amazing. Didn't have much time in Kailua heading to an appointment in Kaneohe and checked out this spot I've heard so much about. Kinda knew it would be busy at 9am but, my saying is ... "if can, can. No can, no can. Just try." Walked up to the podium and the hostess asked if I wanted to sit on the counter. YES! and got in right away. At the counter you can see almost everything on the menu being prepared. Saw a quesadilla pass by and immediately knew that's what I wanted. It was the special of the day, Kalua pork Quesadilla, and boy was it good. Even the potatoes were good. Also, ordered some amazing french toast. So creamy on the inside with a slight crunch on the outside. Just the way I like it. My waitress was very pleasant. Had slight conversations with her and another server. So nice and polite. They both have great pride in their workplace which says a lot about an establishment. Great job Over Easy. Ill definitely be back.
Very cute place in Kailua for breakfast. Outside sitting is very chill and nice (I always like when i can combine eating with spending time outdoors). The public parking lot is just around the corner - very convenient. We had to wait for the table but I barely noticed it as we were called so quickly. The staff is super attentive. The table was set up not just for us but also for my toddler (with the water cup with cover). These simple things make so much difference. My husband ordered kalua pork and I got an eggplant sandwich. Everything was very delicious. The size though is pretty big, so you can be sure you will not feel hungry after that for quite a while. I also ordered fresh juice (pineapple and orange) but I think the amount of juice is a bit too small for the price of $7.50.
I recommend calling 30 minutes ahead to be added to the waitlist, otherwise you may find yourself waiting in the hot sun. There are only a few seats outside (no shade), so you'd likely be standing while you wait as well. They are definitely going for a farm-to-table concept. The ingredients are fresh, the presentation is lovely, and the portions are generous. Although the dishes can be "slightly" lacking, the organic flavors are intentional and I've been consistently surprised with how tasty most things are. Even the Potatoes and Eggs did not disappoint. I love their Sunshine and Apple pressed juices. On the other hand, the seating tends to be cramped and the service can be slow... not to mention it's easy to rack up the bill here. This is a great novelty breakfast spot to bring visitors or post photos on social media. Parking is fairly easy to find and they have a store next door where you can buy their pressed juices to take home.
Good food and GREAT service. Our server was awesome. Street parking is tough on the weekend, you have to have a little bit of luck and patience. There is a public parking structure with meters on the back side Utah the Lani Huli Apartments. You enter from Aulike St. The walkway at the back of the garage leads a path, follow it to the left and then turn right down the "alley" looking walkway. That will take you to the check-in for the restaurant. We came for breakfast. They don't take reservations, but you CAN call and put your name on a waiting list. Once you get there check-in BUT the whole party has to be present. The menu is short and sweet. The plates are ample and you can kind share a plate. Here's what we ordered: kalua hash - kalua pork, okinawan & fingerling potatoes, lomi tomato, over easy eggs, green goddess dressing & cilantro - breakfast special pancakes w/ taro/poi sauce - exactly like it says. The taro sauce was winnah winnah chicken dinnah!! potato n' eggs - soft boiled eggs, potato puree, tomato jam,served on a focaccia. This is their version of eggs Benedict. My friend loved the potato puree in place of hollandaise. I'd come back, but maybe on a weekday when it's less hectic and busy.
Absolutely AMAZING!!! We stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a shot and it was probably one of the best breakfasts we've had in a long time. It was a pretty busy Sunday morning so we were offered to sit at the bar instead of waiting for a table. We were able to watch the kitchen from our seat. And even give compliments to the chef. Our server was very attentive and really sweet. We went with her recommendations and both dishes were fantastic! The flavors all complemented each other and everything came together so nicely. We will definitely be back!
Breakfast is my fav meal of the day and they did not disappoint. Service was great and sitting outside enjoying the breeze was relaxing as I was ending my night shift . Wasn't to busy but was getting There. Find you a meter park and enjoy your meal.
Their bacon is very crispy and their pancakes are huge and lightly crunchy on the edges which is new for me and it is clearly the superior way to make them. You can get seasonal fancy flavors, but at minimum you have the option of a dusting of powdered sugar. The inside is a bit small though the A/C is much appreciated. Otherwise there are quite a few seats outdoors. Be prepared for a wait and stay within earshot when they call you next as they're very busy. Street parking is your only option too. Service was excellent and efficient. I would revisit when I'm in the area and looking for breakfast again.
Yummy food. Nice staff. Quick service. Love the ambiance of outside/inside seating. When wanting to eat out we choose this for breakfast or brunch. The wait can be long depending on the time and day that you go, but is worth it. They give you a big plate for your money. Definitely left with leftovers to eat later. Always great finding a place today where you get what you pay for (quality & cost), considering cost for everything keeps going up.
I hadn't been here in a while, but since I was in the area, I had to stop by. I always go for the "Kailua Eggs" -- I'm obsessed with that broth they do, kind of ochazuke-style. It hits every time. Yeah, the wait sucks, but honestly, it's worth it if you're nearby and in the mood for a solid brunch. They had a special watermelon margarita for the 4th of July, and obviously I had to get it after a long morning. Super refreshing and a fun seasonal touch. The rest of my group got the "Kalua Pig Hash" and wow -- those portions were massive. I ended up finishing my plate before any of them even started digging in. Guess that's what happens when you're hungry and already know how good something's gonna be. They all ended up taking their food to-go. We wrapped up the meal with their famous French toast -- had to do it. It totally lived up to the hype, especially with the maple syrup, which brought out the perfect level of sweetness. At this point, I don't even know if I'll ever try anything else on the menu -- this "Kailua eggs" dish just always delivers for me.
Probably our 4th time here and we keep coming back. The place has that friendly beachy vibes where everyone is so friendly! The food is fantastic with enough portions to share. Of course, the service is beyond hospitable! So, sincere. read more

I visited Over Easy in Kailua, Hawaii, on August 10, 2024, for breakfast. Overall, I'd say the experience was okay--there were some good items, but considering the price of the meal, I expected a little more. For our group we ordered two Bloody Marys ($24), a Green Machine cold-pressed juice ($7), two Sunset cold-pressed juices ($14), and two Pineapple Orange cold-pressed juices ($14). For food, we had the Kalua Pig Hash ($20), three orders of The Basic ($48), Potato N Eggs ($20), three avocados ($15), a Fried Egg Sandwich ($16), two eggs ($5), and crispy bacon ($6). The subtotal came to $189, and with tax the total was $197.91 before tip. The food was decent and there were certainly things we enjoyed, but nothing really stood out enough to justify nearly $200 for breakfast. Over Easy wasn't bad by any means, but based on this visit, it falls into the middle of the road for me. Three stars. read more

First time trying this place. Wait actually wasn't bad, you can call in a little earlier and they can put your name down, but when we got there, there wasn't a wait and we went on a Saturday around 11:00am. Ordered magi ice tea, this was really delicious and very refreshing if you are looking for a nonalcoholic drink. As for food. I ordered the Fried egg sandwich, this was really tasty and the bread was nice and crispy. But I didn't think it's worth $19.00. It came with eggs, caramelized onions, and meat of choice. You also get a choice of side potato's or mixed greens. I chose bacon and a side of potatoes. Wish it came with more caramelized onions and it just came with one piece of bacon (it was cut in half so you get two little pieces in the sandwich). The one bacon was very disappointing. But all in all, it was good and the potatoes were nice of crispy. My friends ordered the Kalua pig hash, loco moco, and the Kailua egg. All three orders came with a good size portion. The Kailua egg is interesting, it comes with two over easy eggs over a bed of white rice and mixed greens with Portuguese sausage, but what's interesting is that it all sits in a broth. All three options are worth it! There's a parking structure near by that is metered parking. Pricing wasn't bad, 20 mins a quarter. read more

Enjoyed lunch today outside with friends in this casual breakfast/brunch/lunch restaurant. It closes early -1:00pm. Food : 4/5 -The kalua pork was 5/5 excellent and a huge serving -friends would order that again. several of us ordered the coconut shrimp sandwich and were disappointed. The sour cabbage was not a great addition and some people removed it from their sandwich. Either a nice shredded fresh cabbage or slaw might fit the shrimp sandwich better or just lettuce ? I would not order that again French fries were crisp and tasty and the potatoes were good. Service : Service was excellent; we had a waitress named Kaitlyn and she was very efficient and friendly. They seat you when all members of your group arrive. Ambiance/facility: Casual and island style with covered outdoor seating to catch the breezes. They are willing to turn the music volume down for easier conversations if you ask. We didn't eat indoors so I can evaluate the inside facility. Location :Easy to find in downtown Kailua near McDonald's. Parking on the street and in a nearby garage. read more
We had brunch on Sunday, it was busy, but our wait was just 5 minutes. Service was quick & friendly. We ordered a few dishes - Salmon Avocado Toast, Kalua Hash & Egg & Crispy Eggplant Sandwich. Everything was tasty, though the Kalua Hash was our favorite. Only negative was it was a bit pricy for brunch. Definitely recommend. read more
Stopped by Over Easy in Kailua, Hawaii for breakfast and was seriously impressed. I ordered the Kalua Pig Hash and the French Toast, and both were standouts in their own way. The Kalua Pig Hash came out as a generous portion, way more than I expected. The pork was flavorful and tender, served over perfectly roasted fingerling potatoes. You can have the eggs cooked any style. I went with over easy, and they were just right, with yolks that soaked into everything like a rich, savory sauce. Now, I'm usually not a big French toast fan, but their version completely won me over. Thick slice of toast was coated in Cinnamon Toast Crunch and served with an orange crème fraîche that gave it a bright, citrusy twist. Sweet, tangy, and crispy, it might be my favorite thing on the menu. The wait wasn't bad at all. I was seated in about 15 minutes, which is a win considering how popular this place is. If you're in Kailua and looking for a delicious breakfast or brunch spot, Over Easy is definitely worth the stop. I'll be back for that French toast for sure. read more
Came on a Sunday morning and even though it looked busy, tables turned fast so the wait wasn't that long. They're pet friendly, but be aware tables are kinda close in case your dogs are reactive to others - there were a bunch when we went but our lap dog was a good boy lol. They even offered a bowl of water for him. Menu is a little small but portions are huge. Service was quick. Eggs were cooked really well and held up once broken. The sourdough was phenomenal - thinly cut but still crispy/toasted well. Friend got the Kalua Pig Hash and it was massive. Not sure what the green goddess sauce was but it went well. It's def enough to share. We also go the custard french toast - this was ok to me. Toast was fine but I wasn't really a fan of the crème.. they also forgot the Nutella we added but no big deal. We also got drinks which were good but damn, they're not joking about that pineapple infused vodka in the martini! Would recommend. read more
This place is one of the best places I've dined at in Hawaii! We were seated right away for outdoor seating, and our server was just amazing. She was so fun to talk to and gave great recommendations. The portion sizes here are HUGE and we did not have any room on our table when all the food came out! EVERYTHING was so yummy and good, and we're so glad we took our server's suggestion of getting a side of kimchi. As a Korean myself, I approved of the kimchi and it was definitely needed every couple bites. Highly, highly recommend! read more

Wow. Hidden along the side of a building in the center of Kailua, Over Easy was a wonderful surprise. There is an outside patio under an awning and an inside area with an open kitchen. The music playlist is great. The servers are extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and are VERY friendly & professional. We went for breakfast and were delighted to see that there is a full cocktail menu! Amazing Bloody Marys. The breakfast menu is diverse and offers many unique selections. We loved the pancakes, the French toast, the homemade sausage, the kalua pork, the hash browns, and the "kailua breakfast" which was like a soup with rice & eggs! Don't miss the hash! Food: Kalua pig hash was the bomb & the Portuguese sausage on the side is really complement the dish. Eggs is so fresh & the combination of Okinawa & fingerling potatoes, Lomi tomatoes, green goddess & cilantro with Kalua pork are so delicious. Portuguese sausage is also delightful. Housemade kimchi added a bit of extra spices to this dishes. I also love my real lemonade esp. when your waitress added butterfly pea syrup on your table to make it like perfect Sunday brunch drink! Service: Waitress is very knowledgable & friendly. She recommended us how to order it to perfectly match our apprize. I appreciated her. Ambiance: Beautiful decors inside & outside. Many beautiful plants, clean bathroom. Semi-open kitchen makes you able to observe their work operation as well. In conclusion, If you went to hike at the pillbox & try to find a spot to stop for quick meal. I highly recommend this hidden gems. Only downside I can think of is the parking spot. You might need to park a bit far and walk to Over easy. read more

Just as good as the last time I came here. Chose outdoor seating for my pup. Wait time was fast for a Sunday brunch at around 11am, maybe 10-15mins tops. Service is efficient and friendly! Food came out piping hot and on time. Kalua pork hash is enough to share for two people and feel comfortably full with another shared entree. We opted for the half order of the French toast which was so so so delicious! They used a thick slice of sweet bread with some sort of cookie crumble outer layer (not too sweet) and the fresh cream tasted like a light orange Creamsicle, added slices of dehydrated apple and orange. So so good and such a satisfying meal. For someone not into brunch, this is one of the handful of places I'd always recommend to visitors and friends. Sidenote: The juices aren't worth the price points in my opinion. Would not buy those again. The morning glory special did taste pleasant. Green juice had way too much lemon in it. read more

The Kalua Pig Hash was outstanding and easily one of the best breakfast dishes I've had. The flavors were rich and satisfying, and the portion was huge, definitely enough to share. The restaurant is a great spot for breakfast, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Highly recommend if you're looking for a delicious breakfast and generous portions. read more
What an amazing brunch spot located conveniently in Kailua town. Parking was a bit tough to find, but we eventually found a street spot. Breakfast is served all day, waitress was friendly, and their portions were huge! The kalua pig hash was gigantic and enough to feed two honestly. We ordered two for the three of us and almost finished it all but we were very hungry after a long hike. Everything was fairly priced and just plain yummy. Must try if you are in Kailua. read more

Wowza. Incredible brunch in Kailua. The pig hash is phenomenal -- perfect blend of savory and sweet, with the most tender shredded pork, yummy crispy ube potatoes (subtle sweetness), egg on top with pico de gallo, and this amazing green sauce. My partner and I shared the half portion cinnamon toast French toast (cinnamon toast encrusted custard French toast, with orange whipped cream) and the pig hash (MASSIVE portion). My partner got the hello espresso (like a creamy espresso martini with cold brew - so dayum good) and I got the Hawaiian Punch (cold pressed orange and pineapple juice, rum, and roasted cinnamon sugar --- strong but good). Very reasonable prices, generous portions, and delicious food! Our server was energetic, had amazing reccs, and was awesome. Popular location, had a small wait but wasn't bad on a Saturday morning. read more

Over Easy is such a cute and casual breakfast spot! I've always seen this restaurant when I'm around in Kailua but didn't get to eat here until recently and I'm glad I did! We ordered the kalua pig hash and the Kailua eggs. The first thing I noticed when the dishes came out was how big the portions are! I had leftovers for days haha. The kalua pig hash was moist and tender and had a good flavor. I like how there were two types of potatoes in the hash. The Kailua eggs were interesting since I've never had a dish like that. But I love how comforting it is especially with the broth! The leftovers of the Kailua eggs tasted even better since the rice soaked up the broth and it was almost like a risotto. This place was pretty busy but we got seated within 15 minutes and then the food came out quickly. I would come here again to try their other dishes! read more

The food at first thought was really good until the portion got to me and it just tastes the same. The servers are very nice however the wait was quite long. You could call to join the wait list, but still it take s a long min. The ambiance is chill and we sat outside which got some breeze. read more

Came here with a few friends on a weekend for brunch. Knowing how busy this place gets, we called ahead to check the wait time -- smart move! The wait was long, but we were able to join the waitlist remotely, which saved us a ton of time. When we arrived, there were several groups waiting outside, but we only waited about 10 minutes before getting seated. I ordered the kalua pig hash -- the portion was huge, and the meat was tender and flavorful. I only managed to eat half and took the rest to go. My friends were happy with their dishes too. Do their custard French toast have a filling inside?
No filling!:) Hawaiian sweet bread soaked in custard then goes in the oven to bake !
As of 6/29, are they open fir dine in? If yes, Do they take reservations?
Yes. They are open for dine in. When we arrive, we filled out tablet for tracing info. I would call and ask, especially depending on party size.
Where the heck do you park?
We had to park at the meters. The host stand has quarters you can exchange your bills for.
Can you bring your own bottle of champagne?
Yes but there is a $10 corkage fee. We sell entire bottles of champagne right now for $24 barefoot bubbly
Is this place pet friendly, we're we can dine outside?
Yes! they have seats outside and I think they are pet friendly cos I saw someone with a dog when we dinned there 2 weeks ago :)
No take out?
They do have takeout and, if memory serves, it's in Earth friendly containers.
