Kailua, in my mind it's home to many great breakfast shops. Over Easy now has a page in my book of favorites. Staff and service - excellent, food - amazing. Didn't have much time in Kailua heading to an appointment in Kaneohe and checked out this spot I've heard so much about. Kinda knew it would be busy at 9am but, my saying is ... "if can, can. No can, no can. Just try." Walked up to the podium and the hostess asked if I wanted to sit on the counter. YES! and got in right away. At the counter you can see almost everything on the menu being prepared. Saw a quesadilla pass by and immediately knew that's what I wanted. It was the special of the day, Kalua pork Quesadilla, and boy was it good. Even the potatoes were good. Also, ordered some amazing french toast. So creamy on the inside with a slight crunch on the outside. Just the way I like it. My waitress was very pleasant. Had slight conversations with her and another server. So nice and polite. They both have great pride in their workplace which says a lot about an establishment. Great job Over Easy. Ill definitely be back.
Very cute place in Kailua for breakfast. Outside sitting is very chill and nice (I always like when i can combine eating with spending time outdoors). The public parking lot is just around the corner - very convenient. We had to wait for the table but I barely noticed it as we were called so quickly. The staff is super attentive. The table was set up not just for us but also for my toddler (with the water cup with cover). These simple things make so much difference. My husband ordered kalua pork and I got an eggplant sandwich. Everything was very delicious. The size though is pretty big, so you can be sure you will not feel hungry after that for quite a while. I also ordered fresh juice (pineapple and orange) but I think the amount of juice is a bit too small for the price of $7.50.
I recommend calling 30 minutes ahead to be added to the waitlist, otherwise you may find yourself waiting in the hot sun. There are only a few seats outside (no shade), so you'd likely be standing while you wait as well. They are definitely going for a farm-to-table concept. The ingredients are fresh, the presentation is lovely, and the portions are generous. Although the dishes can be "slightly" lacking, the organic flavors are intentional and I've been consistently surprised with how tasty most things are. Even the Potatoes and Eggs did not disappoint. I love their Sunshine and Apple pressed juices. On the other hand, the seating tends to be cramped and the service can be slow... not to mention it's easy to rack up the bill here. This is a great novelty breakfast spot to bring visitors or post photos on social media. Parking is fairly easy to find and they have a store next door where you can buy their pressed juices to take home.
Good food and GREAT service. Our server was awesome. Street parking is tough on the weekend, you have to have a little bit of luck and patience. There is a public parking structure with meters on the back side Utah the Lani Huli Apartments. You enter from Aulike St. The walkway at the back of the garage leads a path, follow it to the left and then turn right down the "alley" looking walkway. That will take you to the check-in for the restaurant. We came for breakfast. They don't take reservations, but you CAN call and put your name on a waiting list. Once you get there check-in BUT the whole party has to be present. The menu is short and sweet. The plates are ample and you can kind share a plate. Here's what we ordered: kalua hash - kalua pork, okinawan & fingerling potatoes, lomi tomato, over easy eggs, green goddess dressing & cilantro - breakfast special pancakes w/ taro/poi sauce - exactly like it says. The taro sauce was winnah winnah chicken dinnah!! potato n' eggs - soft boiled eggs, potato puree, tomato jam,served on a focaccia. This is their version of eggs Benedict. My friend loved the potato puree in place of hollandaise. I'd come back, but maybe on a weekday when it's less hectic and busy.
Absolutely AMAZING!!! We stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a shot and it was probably one of the best breakfasts we've had in a long time. It was a pretty busy Sunday morning so we were offered to sit at the bar instead of waiting for a table. We were able to watch the kitchen from our seat. And even give compliments to the chef. Our server was very attentive and really sweet. We went with her recommendations and both dishes were fantastic! The flavors all complemented each other and everything came together so nicely. We will definitely be back!
Their bacon is very crispy and their pancakes are huge and lightly crunchy on the edges which is new for me and it is clearly the superior way to make them. You can get seasonal fancy flavors, but at minimum you have the option of a dusting of powdered sugar. The inside is a bit small though the A/C is much appreciated. Otherwise there are quite a few seats outdoors. Be prepared for a wait and stay within earshot when they call you next as they're very busy. Street parking is your only option too. Service was excellent and efficient. I would revisit when I'm in the area and looking for breakfast again.
Enjoyed lunch today outside with friends in this casual breakfast/brunch/lunch restaurant. It closes early -1:00pm. Food : 4/5 -The kalua pork was 5/5 excellent and a huge serving -friends would order that again. several of us ordered the coconut shrimp sandwich and were disappointed. The sour cabbage was not a great addition and some people removed it from their sandwich. Either a nice shredded fresh cabbage or slaw might fit the shrimp sandwich better or just lettuce ? I would not order that again French fries were crisp and tasty and the potatoes were good. Service : Service was excellent; we had a waitress named Kaitlyn and she was very efficient and friendly. They seat you when all members of your group arrive. Ambiance/facility: Casual and island style with covered outdoor seating to catch the breezes. They are willing to turn the music volume down for easier conversations if you ask. We didn't eat indoors so I can evaluate the inside facility. Location :Easy to find in downtown Kailua near McDonald's. Parking on the street and in a nearby garage.
I hadn't been here in a while, but since I was in the area, I had to stop by. I always go for the "Kailua Eggs" -- I'm obsessed with that broth they do, kind of ochazuke-style. It hits every time. Yeah, the wait sucks, but honestly, it's worth it if you're nearby and in the mood for a solid brunch. They had a special watermelon margarita for the 4th of July, and obviously I had to get it after a long morning. Super refreshing and a fun seasonal touch. The rest of my group got the "Kalua Pig Hash" and wow -- those portions were massive. I ended up finishing my plate before any of them even started digging in. Guess that's what happens when you're hungry and already know how good something's gonna be. They all ended up taking their food to-go. We wrapped up the meal with their famous French toast -- had to do it. It totally lived up to the hype, especially with the maple syrup, which brought out the perfect level of sweetness. At this point, I don't even know if I'll ever try anything else on the menu -- this "Kailua eggs" dish just always delivers for me.
We had brunch on Sunday, it was busy, but our wait was just 5 minutes. Service was quick & friendly. We ordered a few dishes - Salmon Avocado Toast, Kalua Hash & Egg & Crispy Eggplant Sandwich. Everything was tasty, though the Kalua Hash was our favorite. Only negative was it was a bit pricy for brunch. Definitely recommend.
Stopped by Over Easy in Kailua, Hawaii for breakfast and was seriously impressed. I ordered the Kalua Pig Hash and the French Toast, and both were standouts in their own way. The Kalua Pig Hash came out as a generous portion, way more than I expected. The pork was flavorful and tender, served over perfectly roasted fingerling potatoes. You can have the eggs cooked any style. I went with over easy, and they were just right, with yolks that soaked into everything like a rich, savory sauce. Now, I'm usually not a big French toast fan, but their version completely won me over. Thick slice of toast was coated in Cinnamon Toast Crunch and served with an orange crème fraîche that gave it a bright, citrusy twist. Sweet, tangy, and crispy, it might be my favorite thing on the menu. The wait wasn't bad at all. I was seated in about 15 minutes, which is a win considering how popular this place is. If you're in Kailua and looking for a delicious breakfast or brunch spot, Over Easy is definitely worth the stop. I'll be back for that French toast for sure.
Came on a Sunday morning and even though it looked busy, tables turned fast so the wait wasn't that long. They're pet friendly, but be aware tables are kinda close in case your dogs are reactive to others - there were a bunch when we went but our lap dog was a good boy lol. They even offered a bowl of water for him. Menu is a little small but portions are huge. Service was quick. Eggs were cooked really well and held up once broken. The sourdough was phenomenal - thinly cut but still crispy/toasted well. Friend got the Kalua Pig Hash and it was massive. Not sure what the green goddess sauce was but it went well. It's def enough to share. We also go the custard french toast - this was ok to me. Toast was fine but I wasn't really a fan of the crème.. they also forgot the Nutella we added but no big deal. We also got drinks which were good but damn, they're not joking about that pineapple infused vodka in the martini! Would recommend.

Great breakfast place in Kailua. Food is great and fresh greens with the salad. Service is a little slow because it's always packed for mornings. Great to eat outside and enjoy the outdoors in the mornings. read more
Loved our brunch at Over Easy! My husband and I decided to go to the other side of the island for our anniversary brunch and stumbled upon Over Easy and we're so glad we did! It's a busy place, but the service was great, and while it was loud inside the vibe was great. They do have outside seating...but we were hungry and didn't want to wait. Fast service and delicious food . Large portions . You will not leave hungry . Martinis pineapple and Lilikoi was quite tasty but they infused pineapple in vodka which made it a bit overpowering . Maybe less vodka or 1/2 straight pineapple would make lilikoi flavor stand out better . read more

The food here is always top notch. A bit on the pricey end, but well worth it for the high quality of the food and presentation. The potato and eggs is my go to dish because it is so rich and creamy, savory and delicate at the same time. My dish was served with an alternate type of bread which was similar to focaccia, which was underwhelming. I definitely prefer the normal toasted bread slices that they usually use as opposed to the single large piece of what I suspect to be some type of focaccia bread. My daughter ordered the standard breakfast with two eggs, crispy bacon and a side order of their special Portuguese sausage fried extra crispy. Needless to say that she loved her food as she usually does when we eat here. She was feeling a little under the weather, so we got an invigorating glass of the orange turmeric juice which was freshly squeezed and just what the doctor ordered! The service her is always very good. The staff are always very welcoming, attentive, and very accommodating. We were able to place our name in the wait list ahead of time, while we drove there, so by the time we got there, we were able to be seated right away. This is an awesome service especially since my daughter was t feeling 100% As for the ambiance, don't expect anything special. Given the limited capacity of the restaurant and its location on a Main Street, they make the most of the space that they have. Dining in the actual restaurant provides a much better ambiance as the restaurant gives off a clean and modern beach boho vibe. Regardless of where you sit, the restaurant is clean and spaced accordingly. It is a very popular place and for good reason. Anytime you combine amazing food that tastes great and is post worthy, mixed with an awesome staff, you'd be missing out if you don't visit the next time you're in Kailua. read more

Call ahead seating is available if you/party will arrive in 30min. Staff is attentive. Casual brunch place with amazing food. Can't go wrong with the Kalua hash. A must. Tried the egg and potato. French toast is delicious as always. read more
Great location, extremely polite staff and the really fast turnaround on orders. Sat outside where you can get sunshine and fresh air while people watching during your meal. I have wanted to eat at Over Easy for a while but don't often find myself in Kailua. The second I realized I would be there a couple Sunday's ago I knew just where I wanted to grab brunch. I've read parking may be tough on weekends and I was probably very lucky to had found street parking very close by when I went. It's metered but free on Sundays! As for the food... phenomenal. I tend to order by pictures (on Yelp or IG) and the pictures of their potato n' eggs looked so amazing. Ordering by pictures actually doesn't often pan out for me... but in this case the dish was even better than the pictures! My daughter got a cheeseburger and loved it too... although was only able to eat half because they are huge! Even though the restaurant was packed and we were there on the weekend, we barely waited. You can watch the kitchen if you are seated inside and they were hustling!!! I was ready for a nap just watching how much energy they were putting into cranking out their delicious dishes as quickly as possible. I'm going to have to drive to Kailua a lot more now that I'm hooked on the restaurant. read more

I don't know what's in the green sauce but is madly addicting and super good. I always get the kalua pig hash and ask for extra green sauce (which they so kindly give without charging extra)! The green juice is only for the brave and those desiring to be healthy. read more
6/5 to this establishment. My mom and I were visiting my parents home town in Kailua, Honolulu and I was so hungry. We got in for a late flight the night before and I was starving! She said this place was good and man Over Easy did not disappoint!!!!!! We were seated quickly by friendly staff. The ambience was friendly, bright, light, inviting. Our waiter, Alec, was friendly and Courteous. He knew the menu through and through and even sold me on the Lilikoi mimosa!. Only $9, can you believe that? In California they're charging $15 a mimosa. Anyways, I got the potato n' egg and my mom got the Kahlúa pig hash. The plate these meals were delivered on must've been at least 9 full circumference! Everything tasted amazing. I didn't even need any seasoning or hot sauce. I did add hot sauce because I'm into spicy stuff but wow this was phenomenal. We had left overs for another day or two. I wish I could give this place more stars because it's definitely a perfect 10. My husband and I arrived a little after 9 and the line was long, but not too long of a wait, and were seated up front and center watching Unko in the background calling out the orders and laying the last condiments on each dish. We ordered: 2 coffees 1 Brisket Loco Moco 1 Brunch Bowl I think while showing my husband the picture of what I ordered, Unko or one of the servers heard me say "I don't know how to eat it, but we'll find out," because as soon as our food arrived, our server let us know that the chef suggested mixing everything together (soft boiled egg, greek yogurt, tomato jam, spinach, and micro greens) and placing it on top of the toasted sourdough bread. Had a pleasant & delicious lunch at Over Easy when visiting Kailua with some local friends! The food was delicious - we all enjoyed our meals. They do give enormous portions so come hungry! My eggplant sandwich was an amazing vegetarian option. We also enjoyed our drinks - coffee, Bloody Mary, & some delicious juice. It was busy when we first got in line but we were called to a table fairly quickly! The server was delightful - so sweet, helpful & funny. Our food came out quickly as well & she even let my partner order the shrimp burger from the lunch menu despite it being 10 minutes before lunch started. The restaurant has both indoor & outdoor seating and is overall a casual vibe! Great option for breakfast/brunch in Kailua & would absolutely recommend/return. read more

This is a very nice small breakfast restaurant in Kailua. There was a line when we got there, but we got seated within 5 mins we got there. The hostess and server (Ruth) were very nice, polite, and patience. We ordered the day special (pork belly and peaches sandwich), crispy eggplant sandwich, and fried egg sandwich. All the sandwiches came out with great presentation. The fried egg sandwich I ordered for myself was very delicious. The dressing on the salad tastes very unique and appetizing. Kudos to the chef. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves a great breakfast. read more

The staff were "friendly enough" but had a bit of attitude for sure. Not to sure why though. Otherwise, the food was absolutely AMAZING, and the ambience was pretty neat. I enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant aside from the staff. The lady seemed to ease up on my girlfriend and I after possibly realizing we were locals, at least that was what it had seemed. The seating was a bit unique and we were sat at a bar top at 10 in the morning and we don't even drink haha. But anyways, food was awesome and portions were huge. Prices were fine considering the current economy but portion size and flavor definitely made it worth the while. read more

Great food! I read that they did not take reservations so we did a walk in. Not a long wait we went around 9 am. The server was very sweet and the food came out quickly. We sat outside and it's a cute place. Parking was a bit difficult but there is a parking garage close by or you can try to find street parking. The food portions are huge so recommend sharing. read more
Omggg soooo yummy! EVERYTHING was AMAZING!! We ordered 3 Over Easy plates! My husband had 2 for himself one with Kalua pig and the other with avocado. He enjoyed them with the potatoes and his looked so good when they arrived that I had to get one for myself. They did not disappoint! Everything tasted great and was cooked perfectly. I got mines with crispy bacon and over easy eggs and rice. We tried both the custard French toast and the crispy edge pancakes. The Custard French Toast was the star of the show Oh my lanta My favorites flavors combined! Custard filled, but not gooey dripping out filling like you would typically expect, but even better the way they do it! More like a custard texture. Think of mochi pancakes... now imagine custard French toast Couldn't recommend this place anymore! Julia our server was so sweet and kind! This is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Kailua! My go-to to is the Breakfast plate with two scrambled eggs, house-made sausage, sourdough, and the mixed greens! The dressing on the mixed greens is delicious and comes with pickled onions on top. The sourdough is made in house and is buttered and toasted perfectly. The sausage has fennel and some brown sugar so it has a sweeter but still savory taste. If you are crunched on time I recommend getting there early since it is a popular spot and tends to have long lines, especially on weekends. read more
I had to make the drive after a friend recommended this spot. The pancake looked so crispy and delightful in every review picture, I just had to have it. That pancake exceeded my expectations. The egg sandwich with avocado was crispy and not too filling, paired with the side salad it made for light brunch. The drip coffee wasn't that great, I had to add cream and sugar for it to taste like something other than hot water. But you can't gave it all I guess. Great breakfast spot in Kailua. I got the plate with pork, sourdough toast, potatoes, and over medium eggs. My friend and I both got mimosas too. We sat outside with my dog and they brought over water for her. The whole staff was so friendly and came over to give her pets and make sure she was comfortable! The food was delicious and portions were large. My friend got the pancakes and we couldn't even finish them between the both of us. They were so light and fluffy but very filling. Definitely tasted better with the fruit and cream cheese filling! Be prepared for a line, it was still decently busy during the week when we went but service was still quick and enjoyable. read more
Parking--we found parking on a side street, Sunday free, no meter fee. We arrived around 9:15. There was one couple ahead of us. We waited about 10 minutes. The small table was too small for us. I am a notorious water spiller, so I was worried that I might knock it down. My friend moved all the waters along the wall--probably for the best, but out of reach. We all ordered the Kalua Pig Hash per the recommendation of the one person that had been here before. There was a nice balance between the Kalua pig, regular potatoes and Okinawan (purple) sweet potatoes. The eggs yolk was slightly runny, the way I like it. The three of us were happy we ordered this dish and we all took about half home. As a counterbalance to the savory dish--we shared the Custard French Toast. Wow--this was good! I used the orange crème fraiche--that was the perfect level of sweetness for me, no maple syrup needed, but it's provided if you like your French Toast with syrup. Service--friendly They can split the check, no problem--so great for celebrating a birthday. Even though the restaurant was full, the sound level was not overwhelming and we could talk easily, so great for hanging out to talk story or as as a first, early date when you want to get to know someone. By the time we left, there were groups of people waiting to get in--it's popular--and I can see why--friendly service and great food! Recommend!. read more

As I was eating I heard a customer say, "good food, good service, and they even play good music" and I totally agree. The food was beautifully presented and complemented by a delightful array of ingredients. Today we decided to try the fried chicken sandwich. The fried chicken was nicely batter, moist, and very crispy (my guess would be coated with some kind of cornflake). The chicken was topped with a slightly spicy coleslaw which I thought paired nicely. However, my son said he would prefer to eat it separately. The fries taste light and fresh. The custard French toast was not my favorite, I didn't care for the orange creme fraiche, but my husband enjoyed it. The kalua pig hash is perfect for anybody who loves Hawaiian food. Our local friends brought us here after our Lanikai Pillbox Hike, and it was such a hit. We came on Saturday morning around 10, and there was no wait, woohoo! Also, no onsite parking, so look for street parking (not too bad). We of course got the KALUA PIG HASH- so so good. The meat was so tender and tasty, and the Okinawan/Fingerling potatoes complimented it so well with the texture and the sweetness from the Okinawan purple potatoes. Also, this is a hefty generously-portioned dish. We also ordered a simpler dish, the OVER EASY PLATE with the housemade sausage, and omg, that sausage was good. It's on the sweeter side, but it works really well with the eggs and the sourdough toast. By the time we left, there was a huuuuge wait, so I recommend coming earlier before 11. Lastly, service was wonderful and very friendly. read more
Omg I love this place so so much! My bf and I came here after hiking. We called ahead because they don't take reservations and they're usually always busy. The woman on the phone kindly added us to the waitlist and we were seated immediately when we got there! Our table was outside, which we loved since it was such a beautiful day!! We ordered pancakes, Portuguese sausage & rice, and their famous pancakes. No kidding, the food literally came out in less than 5 minutes!!! We were so amazed and happy since we were starving from our hike LOL. Omg the food was soooooo good. I loved the breakfast sandwich esp because of the caramelized onions. My bf said that the Portuguese sausage was one of the best he's had on the island. We shared their crispy edge pancakes and we LOVED IT!! The food was great! Huge portion sizes, so definitely prepare for that because we did not! Service was 10/10; we ordered, I went the bathroom for maybe 3 minutes, and by the time I was walking back to the table, the food was already there! We were in and out in maybe 30ish minutes! read more

What a hidden gem! We were so impressed the first time, we made a special trip from Honolulu just to come back. The service is warm and welcoming, and the menu is packed with delicious choices that showcase a fun local flair. We especially enjoyed the special egg salad on toast and their flavorful kalua pig hash--both were outstanding! Everything feels thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. Highly recommend if you're looking for a cozy breakfast spot that delivers big on taste and hospitality! read more

Got a couple dishes that were so amazing. The kalia pig has was savory and soft and the eggs were cooked just right. The portions were pretty large and filled me up. No filling!:) Hawaiian sweet bread soaked in custard then goes in the oven to bake !

Yes. They are open for dine in. When we arrive, we filled out tablet for tracing info. I would call and ask, especially depending on party size.
Where the heck do you park?
We had to park at the meters. The host stand has quarters you can exchange your bills for.
Can you bring your own bottle of champagne?
Yes but there is a $10 corkage fee. We sell entire bottles of champagne right now for $24 barefoot bubbly
Is this place pet friendly, we're we can dine outside?
Yes! they have seats outside and I think they are pet friendly cos I saw someone with a dog when we dinned there 2 weeks ago :)
No take out?
They do have takeout and, if memory serves, it's in Earth friendly containers.
