How long does one wait for cupcakes? I wanted to place a large order if I liked the products. We stopped by at 11 but the sign on door said "Closed until 12:15." Came back at 12:15 - waited half an hour still not open. Another potential customer knocked and my partner saw the shadow of someone in the store but no response. I will find another place to get my party desserts!

Found this cute gem of a bakery behind of the Banyan craft kitchen. Go early as parking is limited.

Her store is absolutely adorable and decorated in pink (not pictured). I reached out to her on Instagram and finalized my order through email. She was very nice and reasonable, offering great help with creativity! My husband loves cinnamon rolls, and she made that happen. I highly recommend Aloha Bites!

This bakery couldn't be any cuter if it tried! It's in Kailua tucked behind Banyons Restaurant. They have delicious desserts and an assortment of homemade jams and jellies. Go!!!

    Very dry

I got this when we went to Kualoa Ranch. They were not worth anywhere near $24 for 12 mini cupcakes. They were very dry. I wanted to try one of each..... all dry and tossed other half.

Recreation of Dolly Partons Coat of Many Colors in cake!! Looks just like the real thing, down to the buttons.

Akiko at Aloha Bites made my little girls dream come true by recreating Dolly Parton's coat of many colors in cake! It was beautiful! Communication was great; fast and professional. It was much easier ordering from Aloha Bites than all the other bake shops I ordered from in the past.

Super nice baker and tasty cupcake. I do wish the top was iced all the way (instead of a dollop of icing).

It had pretty pink and white decorations on a red velvet cupcakes, arranged in the numbers of 9 and 0! Usually I don't like a lot of frosting but the frosting was not too sweet and it was creamy. It seems to have cream cheese in the frosting and the cupcake I had a pink macaron! You can tell the birthday person was so touched by the beautiful cake made of cupcakes! Her younger sister and family threw her a special party. I don't know if I'll live that long but there are a lot of church members who is reaching 100 or 102 years old! Any age o reached I would be blessed, but the older you get.. you will have more cupcakes to share! lol The cupcake was moist and enjoyed it very much. I'm glad I finally got to try their cake! They even text you a receipt as proof of purchase for the day that you pick it up. Since the eyes eats first :) This Chocolate cake is oh so pretty! It has some height to it and they show you the name plate (correct spelling) before they carefully place it into a special box with a window. The chocolate frosting is smooth all around. They delicately placed yummy chocolate candies along the top, strategically placed sprinkles along the bottom edge, and then hand crafted the special Happy Birthday name plate in gold. Now for the taste.... I would have to agree with the other reviews that said the cake was a bit dry or crumbly. It has the texture of something vegan without egg, fat, nor butter. I was trying to figure out if it was the type of flour they used. Perhaps it's just their style of cake? Like I mentioned earlier, the frosting is smooth. Maybe that's where all the butter or fat content is? I would have liked the cake layers to be a little more moist, but...when eaten together with the frosting it balanced out. Great service, cute treats, I'd come back to try other items...

Puʻuwai Bakery has been on my radar for a while because I was curious about their vegan offerings…read more I'm not vegan myself, but I do enjoy trying vegan options from time to time. When I learned they also make custom cakes, I decided to order one for a coworker's farewell. I needed a cake that was gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free. She can tolerate gluten and dairy with consequences later, but she has a severe nut allergy, so finding something safe for her was the top priority. I wanted to make sure she could finally enjoy a cake without worrying, since she's eaten other farewell cakes in the past, but suffered later. I reached out about two weeks in advance, and Franceska was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the process. Mondays are limited to custom cake pick-ups within a 2-2:30 pm window, and the day I went happened to coincide with a forecasted storm. I texted to confirm they'd still be open since other businesses were closing, and she reassured me they would be. The cake itself was adorable. The simple design and color palette were beautiful, and my coworker loved it. She chose chocolate ganache with lilikoi buttercream, and the lilikoi flavor was especially lovely; subtle but bright and balanced, and it really tied everything together. Texture-wise, the cake was a little drier than traditional cakes and had a slightly different aftertaste, but that's understandable given the dietary restrictions. It actually grew on me, and most importantly, my coworker was able to enjoy it safely and loved it. If you need desserts that accommodate dietary restrictions, especially vegan or allergen-friendly options, Puʻuwai Bakery is definitely worth considering.

You can generally find parking in the lot or nearby on the street (metered). The parking lot was pretty empty on a weekday afternoon and there was only one person working. I really appreciated that they offered some snacks as well as their pretty extensive drink menu. There are so many boba places I would frequent more often if they also offered snacks. Uni offers cup noodle, freshly make bubble waffles, takoyaki and curry with rice! They even have combos that will save you a couple dollars if you get a milk tea with the food. Genius. I got the takoyaki and mixed fruit tea combo for $13. It doesn't sound like a deal, but I end up paying way more and wasting time going to two different stores when I want food and tea. The takoyaki was piping hot, piled with toppings and served in a little box that was really convenient for take out. The fruit tea was one of the better fruit teas I've had. I like that it had chunks of oranges and watermelon. The service was a little slow because there was only one worker, but she was really nice and trying her best. I think I'll be back if I'm in the area. They have cute looking desserts too! And plenty of places to sit with free wifi!

They have beautiful displays of fancy desserts and on shelves cookies and Madeleines. I picked a few fruity desserts to try macarons, lemon tart, mango pudding, tropical fromage. I wanted to get their fruit tart but the fruit on top looked dry and not as pretty and glossy. My favorite was the tropical fromage which was light and airy with a really nice fruit flavor. The mango panna cotta was my second favorite which included the mango bits on top - a nice touch - and the cream nice and rich. Lemon tart had an odd taste to it. Should have went with the mush peach tart that didn't look as appetizing but probably better. The macarons were my least favorite especially the yuzu and passion fruit flavors that didn't taste anything like those fruits. For $2.50 I wish they were better and not as dry. I am glad I tried them but the prices were a bit much for me.
