    Taro Mochi Violet
    Amy A.

Been wanting to come here for a bit now! So glad we tried it one rainy weekend when we stopped nearby for udon in Kapahulu. Can't miss it, right on the corner across from Pizza Hut and the Wong Leong Plaza. They have mobile order which makes things so quick and easy. Cute little shop! So many tasty looking drink choices from milk tea, tea, yogurt, sesame, matcha, sago to more regular ice cream shakes/smoothie drinks. We tried the taro mochi violet drink and oh my was it tasty! It was perfectly sweet since we could get it less sweet which is just the way I wanted it. The taro smoothie has a freshness and bit of texture, layers of puddingy mochi is soft and creamy which is unique, and obviously you have to add brown sugar boba for the most delish mashup! Will definitely be back again soon! So many more drinks to try.

My friend knew it was a bad sign the moment we saw the café's sign flickering on and off. Still, I had stumbled across this place online because I saw a watermelon drink in a Yelp photo and thought it looked good. Big mistake -- I didn't even check the menu beforehand. When we walked in, I asked if they had just plain watermelon juice. They said no, but offered a watermelon mochi tea instead. I don't know who came up with that combo, but it seriously didn't work -- not for me, and definitely not for my friend. We got a little skeptical when they made the drinks in the back, and my friend even said, "I bet they're using powder." I was hoping that wasn't true... but once our drinks were ready, she took one sip and almost spat it out. She said it tasted super artificial. I took a sip too -- and yeah, same. I don't know if it was powder or syrup, but it did not taste fresh, and the mochi just made the texture weird. To make it worse, I had also ordered one for another friend who wasn't even there -- and instantly regretted it. The only saving grace was the service -- the guy that took the order was really friendly, so I'll give a star for that. But the drink itself? I wouldn't order it again and wouldn't come back. The parking also sucks.

I love Little Sweet!!! The drinks are delicious, I think this is the best mango sago on the island. The owner is so kind. You can tell they put love and creativity into every item on the menu. The space is on the smaller end but cozy, they want you to actively hang out, do homework, play games, etc. (plus there is wifi) All the fruit bevs are made with fresh fruits and I think that really shines through. The mango sago is sweet, a little tart, and extra coconutty. I got to try the Violet Taro Mochi when they first put it on the menu a bit ago but it's creamy, sweet, and not too rich. Please give it a try and give Little Sweet some love!

Sooooooo. POV: You're 8 years old and your mom won't let you have the tea in the milk tea because you won't go to bed appropriately. What do you do? You ask....and while we have been to MANY places that refuse to make a brown sugar milk tea with just milk. This is not one of those places. The manager suggested it right away and they were very kind to us. Two milk and brown sugar bobas One strawberry milkshake with added mochi (large size only) And one taro mochi brûlée (with added boba). And maybe we had a fire alarm get set off from the brûlée. But they were quick to stop it. And the smell was ... quite lovely. But wow. The mochi was so soft and delicious and the drinks spoke straight to our hearts by way of our tastebuds. There is something about the warm mochi and gooey in the cold liquid. The taro was not overwhelmingly sweet so you can actually taste the taro! And the brûlée is nice and crisp at the end. The boys drank their bobas so fast I didn't get to try them. The strawberry shake was delicious with crispy wafers in the topping. The mochi was nice in it but be careful not to suck it all up at once. It's fun to mix it in. The shop has a whole shelf of games and it's such a pleasant atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back!!

Hidden cafe spot in the corner of Palani Avenue. Parking is very limited, only a small lot in the back. Street parking option. Small cafe with tons of cute decorations inside. There are also board game available to use there. Great place to hang out or study. I have tried here a couple of times and loved it! I always order the mochi cheese milk tea. Mochi topping is a must option to get. I usually get zero percent sugar since the topping (mochi) would be sweet enough for me. Pricing is decent for the drinks. If parking isn't that limited, I would come here pretty often. Friendly service here.

Azuki beans love in all my drinks.

I've been coming here with my son since the day I found out they were open. This is by far my favorite boba shop. I order the classic milk tea with azuki beans and my son the ovaltine boba. Lately I've been Uber Eats my order. The shop has a lounge area. Where you can enjoy your drinks. A must go

I've always seen this cafe but never bought anything before. It's very unassuming, great for high school/college kids who want to hang out or study, not the best ventilation but very comfy anime cafe vibes. The menu is extensive - would say they specialize in boba tea flavors, esp the fruit milk teas or shakes. Opted to try the strawberry matcha latte (I'm on a quest to find the best matcha latte on island) and waited about 10 minutes for my order to come out. Prices are similar to most other cafes (size of drink is more akin to Cooke Street Market which is pleasantly surprising). I would say the drink itself is very milky, some matcha flavor but not much. Strawberry was like an Asian strawberry milk - similar to Daily Whisk but (LS) way better bang for your buck. Probably would opt for a different drink next time, maybe a mango or strawberry with all the add-ons like fruit jelly and mochi.

    Fun board games!

Decided to stop by for a matcha milk strawberry with mochi topping - it's tasty and has a strong milk flavor, but I wish there was more strawberry. The mochi topping is delicious and unique! The service is really friendly, and the drinks are reasonably priced. The area is adorable and beautiful decorated, with comfy seats, tables, and wifi available. There's also a nice variety of board games, which I love to see. Parking can also be tricky, but I luckily found street parking nearby. Overall an adorable little spot that I can see myself visiting with friends & family!

    * It was a humid day. Inside had A/C on but couldn't feel it and even the guy working there was sweating. * Based in the menu, you cannot tell what is popular. I asked the guy and he said something but I really couldn't understand. (Not docking points for him but more so the menu) * Ordered the Matcha Mochi with Boba. It was more of a custard snack than a drink. * The inside is off-putting. I know they are going for a certain aesthetic but it's a bit too much. Feels like a kleptomaniac's home.

I'm so happy to have been a fan of Little Sweet for the past three years! I don't come often because I wish the location was more convenient--you either have to get really lucky with street parking or walk over from a nearby business--but I thoroughly enjoy every drink I order from here. I must mention that while their boba, which is probably what most people come for, is delicious and consistently cooked well, I love to order their drinks with mochi. Their drinkable mochi is sweet, creamy, and adds a unique and satisfying texture that most other boba places don't offer! I will always have a special place in my heart for the Taro Mochi Violet drink, which I remember tasting a sample of awhile ago when they were first testing it. I loved it so much that I immediately ordered a full size portion of it, and I still come back for it sometimes! I've also been loving their Mochi Strawberry Tea lately, which is so refreshing and has a sweet, fresh strawberry flavor. Note that the texture of the drink is almost like a melted slushy--slightly icy, but also slightly pure liquid. The staff here are always so nice and friendly, and the vibe of the store is also very cozy and inviting. There's a few tables, including one with a couch that's great for a small group of people to hang out at. To enhance your visit, there's also a claw machine and an assortment of games. I really appreciate spots like this where you can fully enjoy a cute little hangout with friends, and Little Sweet is the perfect place to do so while also offering top quality treats!

I saw this new boba place that I've never heard of via IG. They had a new series of black sesame and some other series that didn't catch my eyes. I didn't think I would be able to check it out during my visit this time but when my aunt mentioned she wanted boba, I jumped to the opportunity of us trying this new place, haha! It's located next to New Kamana Kitchen and across of Pizza Hut on Palani Ave in Kapahulu. We tried looking for parking but didn't know where to go and ended up doing a quick hazard car stop on the side on Palani Ave as there were no street parking either. We did pass by a small lot on Winam Ave. The owner(?) mentioned that was the small parking lot on the side of the building facing Winam Ave where his customers could park at. I'm a huge sucker for black sesame items, so I wanted to try one of their black sesame drinks. I got their Taro Mochi Black Sesame, three of the best things ever, in one drink! I was super excited. I got it with 50% sweetness and light ice. And I was quite impressed by the drink! The mochi was definitely the winner. It wasn't mochi balls but one big gooey, delicious mochi that broke apart easily when drank up. Similar to the concept of having pudding as a topping. I was very impressed by this style mochi as not many places do it like this. I only know one other boba shop so far, and it's located in San Diego! I did wish there was more of a heavier black sesame flavor as I thought that was lacking. The taro was there but also not that much. However, the drink overall was good! My aunt got their Black Sesame Boba Ube Milk Tea which she seemed to like! Overall, another good boba spot in the books. However, it was kind of pricey but understandable as it's located in one of the popular food areas. I do want to come back in the future to try more of their items.

Ube, Boba, and milk Tea lovers come stop by this cute hole in the wall beverage place on Kapahulu. We love walking here to get our milk tea or matcha fixes. Definitely a cute place to catch up with friends. Drinks are very sweet so you can tell them if you don't like it too sweet so I like how you can customize to your liking. Parking can be difficult so you'll have to find street parking and walk a bit. Service is very friendly.

Honestly, a very cute cafe that deserves a visit! This shop is located along Palani Ave, and you mostly find parking on the street or with two dedicated stalls on Winam Avenue. The exterior of the shop has its window decorated with cute decals, and the interior is cute and cozy with plenty of seating. Games are also stacked in the corner if you want to hang out and do something with friends. I ordered the matcha milk with boba and no sugar, and it was prepared very quickly. The owner (I think)? was really friendly and warm! And I loved my drink. Just as the name of the cafe, my drink wasn't too sweet at all, and the boba was sweet and chewy. The matcha flavor was on the lighter side but the drink was overall very creamy, so I loved it. Would love to come back to try other drinks on their menu!!

In these times, be kind to yourself, and love yourself enough to go where you're treated best, people.

You can find this mochi around the island at different supermarkets but it's best from the source on University Ave. You can't miss out on their peanut butter stuffed mochi. It's just such a classic. I also love their strawberry stuffed mochi- so ono!

I've always been a fan of them since they were in the old 99 Ranch so I wasn't complaining about going there lol. We parked in the open lot on the left of the store. But you could also park in the parking inside. When we entered, it's a very small store that's hard to walk around if there's people in there with you. We got the fruit parfait cups, the fresh mango mochi, and the ones on the stick (which I forgot to take a pic of). The parfait cups were good with cream cheese, strawberries, and mochi. I didn't care for the mochi with the sweet soy sauce on it although I know that's what Japan is known for. And the fresh mango mochi was good. The only thing I didn't like was the Lima bean paste inside. I'm not a fan of that. I would recommend eating fast since it's fresh and the wetness of the mango can make the mochi soft and rip. I'm glad we got to try new items. Can't wait to go back and get their peanut butter mochi and other favs. The cashier that helped us was very nice and gave us a bag even though we said we didn't need one. If you love mochi, this place is for you!
