Stopped in on a weeknight with my husband and parents, and seated right away. Good mix of people at the bar just for drinks and couples/groups at tables for food. My dad loved every beer he tried, and my mom appreciated that they had a hard cider too. My husband and I were digging the cocktails!! Whatever you do, don't leave this place without ordering a pizza!! Server was accommodating and I was able to build my own pizza with toppings rather than select from menu, which was really kind. After a couple hours at Kailua Beach, we were starving. I found this place on Yelp, of course and thank God it wasn't busy on a weekday. We ordered the Da'Roni (Red sauce, pepperoni, basil & mozzarella) and the King of the Dill (Ranch, dill pickle chips, bacon, dill, parmesan & mozzarella). Both were DELISH! I also wanted to order the Bee's Knees (Pesto, pepperoni, mozzarella, goat cheese, spicy honey) but I am strict about bringing leftovers to our hotel or Airbnb. It usually goes to waste because we're always eating out. I ordered a hard seltzer, but it wasn't my kind of seltzer. My husband ordered one of their craft beers and enjoyed. It. Family friendly brewery that has a unique tap list; each beer is brewed with a specific local ingredient, as a cool twist on the usual styles. I had a guava IPA that was great; not too sweet, and just a little different from other juicy IPAs. I also had a salad, don't judge me. New trip to the islands and a return visit to what's been one of our favorite pubs on past trips. We'd mentioned before that the pizza was a bit on the soft side, and this time was similar -- still tasty with a nice chewy outer crust, but a little too moist in the center to comfortably eat by hand. We also noticed limited bar seating since three staff members were using laptops there, which made it a bit tricky for guests hoping to sit at the bar (our usual spot!). That said, the beer selection and overall vibe remain good. We'll likely spend more time in the HNL area for the rest of this trip. More choices and happy hours still exist on this side :) read more

This weeks featured restaurant was Travie's patties. After some contemplation we ordered and enjoyed: Lavender haze - this drink is so refreshing and I loved the lavender flavor in the drink. Mai Tai - awesome spin on a classic drink! Travie's patties- Mctravie Chimmy Fries and tater tots These smash burgers were so flavorful and delicious! Loved the McTravie and chimmy sauce. Came for the beers and stayed for the cocktails! I have never been to a brewery where the cocktails are so fire. The beer is also delicious. I really loved their li hing mango beer, which is a summer special. However, the cocktails really shone. We got the purple drink and the li hing mango cocktail. Both were incredible. The food does take a long time to come out - I would dock 0.5 stars because it took probably 40 minutes for our pizza to come out. It was really delicious once it did though. Drinks were served right away. It was busy with great vibes inside. It was really busy on a Friday night. They were playing some weird show on the TV where a woman was crushing watermelons with her breasts. read more

This is a great little spot. They have their own beers and hard liquor, and a pretty good variety of everything. We sat at the bar and service was pretty consistent. Nothing spectacular but everyone was friendly. I would have to say that the food was a little disappointing since they only have wood fired pizza and no GF options (something maybe they can add in the future?!), but all in all pretty nice spot and a change from the Waikiki craziness. read more

The food here is always good. They lean slightly towards an Italian menu, but have a lot of local cuisine and fish on the menu. The big thing is the beer from their micro brewery. We have been there on fairly busy nights and service is always fairly fast but always friendly. Some of the tables are set out on the veranda, covered area and other tables are inside, but it is mostly open air seating. read more

Lanikai Tap and Barrel is a great spot with really great beer and seltzer they brew. Monkeypod, beautifully designed, tables and booths. It has an open air wall with both indoor and outdoor seating. The swing is gone. I can only imagine what happened there, ha! Pizza, charcuterie, salad, sandwiches and a few other menu items for eats. They also have cocktails! I am inspired by the owner of this place. I don't know him but I love the cultre and how they joke about "everyone who thinks they do!" What he stands for in general, great craft beer to start... the Aina, the community, how much he stepped up for Maui and the community when the fires broke out. I support as much as possible buy purchasing the beer off the shelves at the grocery stores...and it was nice to stop in again. Remember if you are visiting a beach, anything you carry in, please carry out. Unique beers paired with pizza is always a win! What made the experience for me was the unique beer list representing beers made with a local flair. The pizza was good compared to other breweries that I have been to, so that also made for a good meal. I connected well with my server and she even made note of a recommendation I made for the pizza I ordered and said that it would become her new pizza to try. A personable server like that also helps make the experience better! It is a dining area full of low and high tables, just like you expect from a brewery, including some outside seating that was full upon my arrival. I saw they offered a menu and to be honest I'm not the biggest can't when breweries offer food because it's not the best in my experience BUT the pizza on the menu came from the food truck outside and it was soooooo good. They also offer flights and have a great selection of beers i highly recommend their mango sour. The space was large and clean, the door were open for a breeze and they had a large fan blowing. Love the laid back ambiance here and beautiful wood tables. Service was excellent! Favorites of the Day: --Pillbox Porter (Hawaiian+Tahitian Vanilla) - this has won several awards (well-deserved). My all time favorite beer! Very well balanced dark beer. --Punalu'u Nitro Stout (Cacao + Macadamia Nuts) - this is a new April Release! I really hope they keep this beer around because it was so delicious! I don't know whether I like this one or the Pillbox Porter more. --Kainalu (Lime+Alaea Sea Salt) which is a sour ale for people who want a lighter drink. Very good! Lanikai brewing is one of our favorite little spots to bring the kids. They have ample seating inside and outside. Keep in mind, no A/C but great breeze and fans inside to keep you cool. There's a cute swing in the back, great for a photo op. Service is great - you view your menus via QR code on the table. They serve brick oven pizza freshly cooked by Valentina's food truck. We ordered the Bees Knees and Little Miss Sunshine. The Bees Knees was literally that. So delicious and worth the short wait. As for beer, Mr. Sun Cho Lee (Belgian blonde) was my favorite. read more

The waitresses were really nice and suggested a very different type of pizza. It was the Bees Knees and it was so delicious. I have never had honey on a pizza but this was so good. We stopped here while exploring O'ahu and it was a good meal overall. We had a pepperoni pizza and pesto salad, both of which were tasty. The beer was decent and paired well with the food, but it wasn't the best we had on O'ahu. Our service was not very good though and it was a bit of a shame as we liked the brewery overall, but having bad service is frustrating and not something you see very often in a brewery in particular. They do have some good swag and we love the shirts we got here, so it's overall a decent place. 3.5/5 read more
