Stopped by for a beer after a nearby hike & had great visit! Our server Alex was awesome! Very attentive & had some great recommendations. Family friendly environment while still being a cool place to stop by with a group of friends. Will update review when we come back for food. PLEASE BRING BACK THE CUCUMBER KOLSCH

If you like sampling beers and love beer, this place is for you. All outdoor sittings so make sure to go on a breezy day. Our server C**** was awesome and fun. Very accommodating. We sampled about a dozen beer I think. Also tried their pizza and taro buns sliders. They make their own pizza using beer. So good and not greasy at all.

Food was filling and good. I opted to taste Loco Moco to know what they're raving about. To me, it was ok. The serving can be good for two. I couldn't finish was it. The macaroni was salty My husband had the flatbread almost like a Hawaiian pizza. It was okay too. Not a fan of ham so, I took off the ham. Service was good and quick. Our server was friendly. Ambiance, it's a bar so, a little loud at times.

The ambiance here is really wonderful with breezy outdoor seating covered by screens. There isn't much protection for rain unfortunately. Very popular spot and we had to wait a bit to be seated. Our server was extremely nice. Food selection was actually very minimal with only 3 sandwiches. The burger variety was pretty decent. The burger itself was very average with a well done patty because it was so thin. It comes with a selection of sides, but none of them are fries! We selected the chips. They were not as generous as we were expecting or hoping. Recommend the lemongrass luau as a light beer!

Four of us stopped in for lunch. It was the first time we've been there. Everything on Oahu is open air and Kona brewing Company is no exception, the ambience was lovely. We sat out overlooking the water. They had a wide variety of Kona beers. The food was delicious. Our friend had the jalapeño popper pizza. It was delicious. The wife and I split the fish tacos. they were also very good and our other friend had the Aji tuna salad. It was huge. The service was top-notch however, we did have to wait for about 15 minutes for a table, but it was well worth it, if we're ever in Oahu again will definitely go back.

I ordered all the Back Yard Batch, which are single batch beers.  I specifically ordered these because Kona Brewing has a great commercial presence all over the US and these are some I have never had, nor are they available outside of Kona. THE BEER: SLAM Dunkelweizen 4.7% ABV... OMG... so crushable. This is an all day easy drinking beer. Banana, check, clove, check, lite lemon, check, delicious, check, check. Steam Vent Lager 5.7% ABV... this is an easy drinking Lager, slightly hoppy Dad Joke IPA 6.3% ABV... a little grapefruity, West coast kinda, but there is some sweetness Lil Bae Bae IPA 5.3% ABV... Lil Bae Bae has a bite.  Mellows out after the first sip. Bay Runner Imperial IPA 10.4% ABV... fruity, slightly hoppy, but not overpowering Lea, our bar keep was awesome! There is food here, fresh baked pizza and sandwiches. There are geckos on the bar, on the floor and all through the brewery.  The staff I was told, call themselves geckos. If you like good craft beer, this is a great place to visit while in Kona.

Kona Brewing at Gate E6 is an absolute gem for travelers looking to kick off (or cap off) their time in Hawaii with a taste of the islands! I stumbled upon this spot during a layover, and it turned out to be the highlight of my airport experience. First off--the beer! Kona Brewing's craft beers are legendary, and having a fresh, cold Big Wave or Longboard Lager while waiting for a flight? Priceless. The selection is fantastic, and they serve everything perfectly chilled. It's like a mini tropical getaway right in the terminal. The food? Equally impressive. They offer hot grab-n-go dishes, including the iconic Spam Musubi, which was a delightful and flavorful bite of Hawaii. It's freshly made, warm, and hits all the right notes. Who knew airport food could be so comforting and authentic? They also have other island-inspired dishes that are perfect for a quick, satisfying meal. The vibe here is relaxed and friendly, with service that genuinely embodies the aloha spirit. The staff was welcoming and efficient, making the whole experience feel like a mini-vacation. Whether you're looking to unwind before a flight or savor one last taste of Hawaii, this spot has you covered. Don't miss Kona Brewing if you're passing through Gate E6. Great beer, delicious food, and a little slice of paradise at 30,000 feet. Highly recommend!

This was truly the happiest meal we had during our trip to Hawaii. The beer was amazing, every dish was full of flavor, and even the kids' menu was great. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it perfect for both adults and children. We left feeling full, satisfied, and very happy.

Good food, great craft beer, and the Mexico vs. Czech Republic FIFA World Cup match on the TVs. Moments like these remind us how sports can symbolize unity and world peace by bringing people from different cultures and backgrounds together. Food We shared the Beer Battered Fish & Chips, Bang-A-Rang Shrimp, and Eggplant Bruschetta. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The fish was crispy on the outside and flaky inside, the Bang-A-Rang Shrimp had just the right amount of crunch and flavor, and the Eggplant Bruschetta was a delicious starter. Drinks I ordered a beer flight with #5 Torchlight, #10 Hops for Hugs, #14 Rice Breaker, and #16 After Hours. After Hours was easily my favorite. My friend had a pint of #3 Aqueerius, a refreshing sour ale with raspberry limeade notes that he really enjoyed. Service & Atmosphere The staff were welcoming, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. The brewery is spacious, clean, and a great place to relax with friends or catch a game. Anyways, went in for happy hr, got a flight, some onion rings, fries, and a hot honey chicken sandwich (the special for the month) Flight was good but I wish you could choose which beers you wanted to try - its like a set list. Onion rings were okay, but was charged extra for sauce even though it was listed as an option. Fries were crispy & great. Chicken sandwich was very good too. Vibes were a miss for me, wanted to love this brewery but left very underwhelmed. Probably won't be back. There are other local breweries I'd love to give my $ to instead.

Everyone was very nice there and the space was a good sports bar to watch the World Cup at. We sat at the bar so we could see the TVs, but there were plenty around the restaurant. The food was mixed reviews. The shrimp fried rice was really good, a bit on the oily side (personally don't mind that) and lacked salt, but that was an easy fix. The special was this pork belly (I think) and honestly it didn't wow me. It was a bit bland and also the amount was so small. The Macaroni salad was good and rice was good. The slaw, to me, was too crunchy and could have marinated longer to soften up. Again, this dish lacked salt. The Pina Coladas, were very tasty and refreshing, but were too sweet so it was hard to get a second one and come close to finishing. I had my partner help me drink it because it was too much. I'd still go again and try other things on the menu and maybe ask for the colada to not be too sweet

We were seated relatively quickly, outside, at a long picnic table. No problems there. But then... Our server (Andrew, I think that's his name...it was on the receipt but we literally never saw him after he took our order and then brought the bill), really didn't want any small talk at all. He seemed a bit annoyed when my fiancé asked about their own brews....almost like it would've been easier for him to just order Coors or something. You're a brewing company...people are going to have questions. All 4 of us ordered something different- Sicilian pepperoni pizza, some type of burger, pulled pork loaded fries, and a macadamia nut chicken salad. Food was average...you can tell they cater to tourists.. Our server never checked on us. He took our order, a runner brought the food out, and the next time he came to the table was with a bill. I actually had to flag down another service so we could cash out. I have so much respect for people working in the service industry. It's a hard job. You deal with people all the time and some of them are downright jerks. We weren't jerks. We were regular, nice customers. It takes a lot for me to not tip anywhere between 20-25%. Sadly, this was one of those times. 2 stars

The ceviche was $26 (not on the happy hour menu), it was a portion for 1-2 people, the fish itself tasted fresh but I wasnt a huge fan of the ceviche flavor, I wish it was more lime/acid forward and would have liked an herbal element like cilantro to spice it up. Wasn't working for me. - Fries with char siu on top - 4/10: meh. Char siu and fries don't go well with each other, especially when you drizzle teriyaki-type sauce on top. Too sweet that there's a bit of an imbalance in flavor. They also had open mic karaoke here. Crowd was kinda dead, so we tried to liven them up with a familiar country tune. Didn't work. Oh well. My partner and I had just finished a long hike and were excited to relax, enjoy a good meal, and watch the World Cup game. When we arrived, we approached the host stand to put our name on the waitlist. Instead of being greeted with a smile or any sense of hospitality, the host, Sarah, came across as very snarky, dismissive, and unwelcoming. She informed us there would be approximately a 45-minute wait, which we completely understood and were happy to accept. While waiting, we stood near the bar area so we could watch the World Cup match. Despite standing there for around 25 minutes, not a single bartender or employee acknowledged us, offered a menu, or even greeted us. Eventually, after about 30 minutes of waiting, a table in the bar area became available. Since it was empty, we sat down, assuming it was open. Within moments, the host approached us with the same rude attitude and told us that table was being held for another party. We politely asked to speak with a manager. Rather than responding professionally, she visibly rolled her eyes before going to get one, which only reinforced how unwelcome we felt. When the manager arrived, the interaction was equally disappointing. He never asked us what had happened or tried to understand our perspective. Instead, he immediately apologized and reiterated that the table was reserved for another waiting party. We didn't want to cause a scene, so we simply moved to another available bar table. What made the situation especially frustrating was that the original table they insisted was reserved remained empty the entire time afterward. No one was ever seated there while we watched. It left us questioning why such a rigid stance was taken over a seating arrangement that appeared easily manageable. The issue was never about having to move tables. We understand restaurants get busy and that hosts have to manage seating. The problem was the complete lack of hospitality, communication, and customer service. From the host's attitude and eye-rolling to the manager's unwillingness to listen before making a decision, we felt like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. As first-time customers, first impressions matter. We arrived excited to enjoy our evening, but instead left feeling ignored, dismissed, and genuinely unwelcome. A little kindness, professionalism, and a willingness to communicate could have completely changed this experience. Unfortunately, that's not what we received.
