Love this local neighborhood brewery in kakaako. Dog friendly, cool vibes and delicious brews that rotate. the beers are $9 and they really have something for everyone. IPAs, blondes, ales, seltzer and scouts. Tonight we had a chocolate banana stout yummy! And they also has a cinnamon roll ale that was so unique and yummy. They have trivia nights and karaoke Wednesdays. Cool place to hang out nice crowd. Laid back. No AC but they have fans blowing and this is hawaii so get trade winds! They also have have food vendors that pop up featuring pizza, pasta and flat breads on some nights. Great lccal brewery awesome service!
While on vacation, we visited several local breweries, and what stood out most was how supportive they were of one another. Every brewery recommended another place for us to try, which made the experience even better. We ended our brewery tour at Howzit Brewing, and the beer was fantastic! We can't wait to return and highly recommend checking them out.
The 'hot' brewery I had heard of in Waikiki was Howzit Brewing. They have an ex-Anderson Valley brewing heading up the brewing which means that it has a lot of Mainland inspiration and skills that you don't traditionally find on the islands. I enjoyed a flight while petting a dog that decided to make home at my feet. Lilikoi Margarita Sour: A Gose Style Sour inspired by a Margarita fruited with Lilikoi. They took the base and added in various forms of Lillikoi, Lime, and Orange as well as some Barrel Extracts. NENEIPA: A Double IPA brewed hazy with Citra, Sabro, and Riwaka. It was fermented with a thiolized yeast strain. Goose Mountain: A New Zealand Pilsner built on top of Weyermann Extra Pale and Rahr 2-Row malt. It was hopped with New Zealand Riwaka and Nelson Sauvin. So Pitted A Tart Ale brewed in collaboration between Howzit and Great Notion fruited with Mango, Lemon, Plum, and Li Hing Mui. ___
Small bar on kamani St with draft beer. Quaint place with good service and had huli huli chicken cooking outside. Good service ample parking with TVs to watch sports. If you don't like loud places this is a good place to relax and have a beer
Howzit Brewing was a fun stop for trivia night on Sunday. I got the radler slushy, which was ok overall -- not too sweet, but only the top part was really slushy. We also ended up taking third place in trivia, which made the night even better
Came here on a Monday around 3pm. It was dead, just me myself and I. Tap List was good, I was expecting them to have more of a variety, like some porter or stouts, mostly your standard Ipa, Hefe, Lager, Seltzer... They did have a lemonade slush machine that you can mix with beer. I got the Pogsplosion and it was pretty solid, flavor was bold, beer was cold for a warm day. Service was ok, beertender was bored out of her mind. They got Bad Bunny blasting on the surround system, can't be mad about that. Brewery is pretty chill, enjoy the outside seating.
What a little oasis tucked away in the middle of Kakaako and Ward Avenue. Great beers on tap and the names of them are Awesome! Monday and Tuesday got a taco truck that parks in front of the brewery serving food from 5-9pm. This is definitely a good sign of things to come from this local brewery. Atmosphere is chill with an 80's Surf/Skate vibe. Outside seating is available and they might let you bring your pets.
I love this place! They make awesome beer and have lots of varieties on tap. You can order a full or half size beer. They offer a range of things like IPAs, Radler, Sour, Porter, etc. they even have canned wine and zero proof Hop Water that is actually so refreshing and delicious if you're not into drinking. The service is friendly and efficient. You can tell they know their stuff and they are beer nerds in the coolest way possible. I recommend the porters. Their seasonal gingerbread porter was absolutely delicious (I'm not even generally a porter fan). For something different, check out their ube coconut porter slushie! Parking is limited to 3 stalls or street parking. They have lots of bar seating and high top tables with outdoor picnic tables. It's nice and clean inside and in the bathrooms. The customers are friendly and good looking ;)
My favorite brewery on Oahu. It's confidently beer forward in a market that's increasingly pivoting to Other Things to survive, understandably. BEER Everything I tasted, Hazys, Lagers, & Cream Ale, are all excellent. Slushies, seltzer(s), mixed drinks, & various seasonal options are also available. AMBIANCE Laid back. Perfect spot to have a conversation, play board games, or chill with a dog and/or a book. There's a TV in the taproom for weekend football in the fall. Recurring social events include Wednesday Karaoke, Thursday Run Club, & Sunday Trivia. PARKING I'm not a local and found nearby street parking around 7:30pm in early September w/o much effort. Can't speak for weekends or daylight hours but do note this is in a light industrial area (as are most of the best breweries, imo). FOOD Check their Instagram for food trucks or BYOF. SERVICE As you'd expect for a micro, 1-2 employees working front of house on a weeknight for 10-25 patrons at a given time. Cordial, professional, & prompt pouring service. COST Well-priced for Honolulu. OTHER If you're a Sticker Person, the Yam Slam sticker is a yuge hit with my brewery amigos back home in TX. Makes me smile every time I see them affixed to the beer fridge and cooler.
Newer brewery, so the selection of beer wasn't too big. They had a beer slushie for our non drinker friend which was cool, and service was speedy. Large TV inside and picnik tables out front. With a little bit bigger of a selection, I think it could be a great spot !
Loved it here! Super cute/trendy brewery right in the heart of downtown off on a quiet strip. Great selection of beers, no food served here. The crowd was great and it was busy. There were seats inside or picnic tables outside. I highly suggest giving the ube beer a try, very smooth.
We've visited a few times while on vacation and they seriously have some of the best beers on tap. They collaborate with great breweries, and every beer we've tried has been amazing. I even tried their seltzer and loved it! We'll definitely keep coming back.

We visited four breweries during our time on Oahu. Each were fantastic and got better each time. We started at Maui Brewing, moved onto Waikiki Brewing, Beer Lab Hi, and finished at Howzit Brewing. Ratings overall beers only: 1) Beer Lab Hi (omakase, super omakase) 2) Howzit (hyperlocal) 3) Maui (OMG hazy, pineapple mana, pineapple chi chi, coconut hiwa) 4) Waikiki (EEH PAH IPA) Each had something unique to offer and were all great visits! read more
Drinks: 5/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Saw this brewery when I was trying to find parking at Fishcake's Matcha Festival. At the time, the roads were so busy and there was no parking. I made a mental note to come back when I was back in the area and today was the day! Found parking in front of the blue building but there was only 3 spots. I think there are street parking available. We walked in at around 5pm and there were a handful of people but mostly empty. There is outdoor and indoor seating. There is a TV inside. This place is dog friendly as well! Service was okay...I told the bartender that it was my first time here and she said, "okay." I was expecting her to tell me more about their tap list and recommendations, but I had to ask my own questions. She served my flight in what looked like a bowl that my dog drinks out of but that is only my assumption. Lol Otherwise, I enjoyed this brewery. I loved the ambiance and the selection. We ordered a Hazy IPA, Pilsner, Sour, and Pilsner Ale. I personally enjoyed the Hazy IPA (Hyper Local) AND my Slushy Radler which was their Howzit Light and a Lemonade Slushy that paired well together. They had a food vendor out front and it smelt amazing but I did not get to try that today. Around 5:45pm I noticed that it started to get busy all of a sudden. When I was leaving I noticed it was because they had Sunday Trivia which I am assuming starts at 6:30pm. Overall, I enjoyed this brewery but the parking can be an issue. Good beers, disappointed they do not offer taster flights. We tried 4 half pours. No kitchen, but they do have food trucks on site. Small outdoor patio and decent size taproom. Even though it is located in Kakaako, there is no signboard or brewery-like decoration, and it has a plain and simple appearance. I was surprised by the unexpected atmosphereI on my first visit when my friend invited me. Among the several breweries in Kakaako, the scale is somewhat small, but my friend, who is known as a beer lover, said, "The beer here is the most delicious!" My first drink was IPA. CI chose a fruity brew that the staff likes. I liked it because it had a bitter, pretty punchy taste. The second beer was the coffee beer that my friend recommended. It was somewhat lighter and easier to drink than a coffee stout I drank at another establishment last Christmas. By the time we ordered the third cup, beer friends gathered from here and there thanks to our beer meister friends, and our table became very lively. Food is a system that is ordered from a Mexican food truck stationed at the entrance. First of all, it was tortilla chips and avocado salsa, but everyone immediately emptied their beer glasses after eating that spicy sauce (laughs) One of my friends said, "I'm sure this is the spirit to make you drink beer!" And he screamed and emptied the glass all at once, so everyone laughed out loud! Still, everyone wiped their sweat while being impressed by the high grade of the sauce, and hurriedly ate chips and replaced their beer. The high ceiling fans slowly turned and softened the sound of our laughter. Please drink comfortably in this island-like atmosphere and enjoy the original, delicious beer! Citra, strata, HBC586,Amarillo, El Dorado, hydra, nectaron, Columbus, Chinook...... If you knew this list were hops, then this is the Honolulu brewery for you! Quality ingredients. Rich colors. Amazing malts. Fruity sours. Wonderful collabs. Interesting concoctions. I feel that this is the richest in ingredients and new flavors of beer for a brewery in Honolulu. They even brew the original recipe for Rainier beer! They have slushies, canned wine and n/a lemonade slush. Small parking lot at entrance. Street parking. Food truck in lot. Order at the bar and enjoy the open air seating. read more
Howzit Brewing is relatively new on the island of O'ahu. The brews are solid and with only 8 taps, there was more than enough variety. In fact, there was more variety here in beer styles than any other brewery I visited on this visit. They had a Belgian yay!!! The BEERs I tasted: Makani Wit Belgian 4.3% ABV... quite good Schwartz Weather dark lager 4.5% ABV ... dark malty notes. This is an all day beer that would be great with BBQ, fried chicken or steak. Quite good. Churro Cream Ale 5.3% ABV.... WOW... this cream ale attacked my taste buds in a good way... Great way... it did things to my taste buds that is hard to describe. Cinnamon forward, not too sweet and expertly balanced. This is a STAR! I probably could have drank more but day drinking and the time difference was catching up to me... and, I had to make it back to my hotel before I lost my slipper and turned into a pumkin. I received great service for the short time I stayed. It is brand new, no signage. Wish I had more time. I would have loved to have the other beers, because either I am very lucky, or all the beers are great. This is a Top Up and Comer... some of the major breweries here should beware. read more

Howzit Brewing is Hawaii's newest beer brewery, which opened in the fall of 2023. With a ton of experience making beer in the PNW, they decided to open in Honolulu's developing beer scene. I've been many times so far and thought it was about time to write a review. Simply put, if you're a fan of beer, you have to go check them out. Located on the fridges of Ward Village, they're across the street from Fishcake on Kamani Street. While they have some limited parked, it's usually take up by food trucks (but really if you're drinking, make sure to make other arrangements to get here). It's also walkable near Honolulu's other breweries and excellent beer bars, so it's a great addition to any crawl. Owner Justin and brewer Phil are usually around if you want to talk beer, plus manager/bartender Grant is a great one to talk to if you have any questions or need recommendations. As the brewery gets more well known, I'm sure the staff will too. The interior has high ceilings and open air; large high top tables and stools take up the main floor, with a wooden bar along the taps. Brewing is done behind and usually earlier in the day so as the sun goes down it'll get a lot cooler. A clean restroom is on the side. There are also plans to add a front outdoor beer garden, which I look forward to. Food available is a rotation of local food trucks, check their socials for whatever is coming during your visit. The best part is obviously the beer. The styles lean more toward CA/PNW styles, lots of clean pilsners, hoppy IPAs, and some darker beers. They also have a slushie machine, which usually has a radler to try (generally 50/50 light beer and lemonade, or other juice). Prices are $8 for all beer full pours (half pours are $4 if you want to drink less and try more), slushie radlers are $10. Their price structure is reasonable and simple, great for the quality. I look forward to trying more beer styles in the future; if you're visiting Honolulu or live here and haven't been, it's worth your time to check out. read more
I really like the nostalgia of the Ranier beer recipe brew and enjoyed their wide range of hops and flavors used in their brews. 8 changing beer taps keeps something new awaiting you for upcoming visits. They also have slushes and wine in a can to choose from. Different food trucks stop by. I would rather have my beer served in pint sized glasses, but they certainly have stylized glasses for the type of beer one gets. Friendly beertender. Focus is on the beer as there was no TV's or distractions in the basic seating set up. I know it's a newer establishment with bare walls ready for something. read more

Came for beers and the girl greeting us was super friendly, like we were Norm walking into cheers. If you don't know what I'm talking about, google it. Hubby had a nice conversation with the owner. Despite other reviews he was nice and professional, even told us which beers not to order as he didn't think they were up to par. He's got a nice place and wants to keep it that way. My impression was if you wanted to act like a fool this is not the place for you. Love the indoor outdoor transition and space concept as well as the vibes. About three parking spots near the outdoor seating. We came late at night so no problem with parking, but was told OK to park on the right side, but not on the left side. Apparently not all business owners are cool with sharing their parking even though they're not using it late at night, lol. read more

Welcome to the brew scene!! We visited on a quiet Tuesday to find the brewery pretty busy. I thought the beer variety was great and the beer was really tasty. I do imagine it may get hot in here during the summer but it was perfect temp while we were there with all the windows and doors open. I look forward to supporting again soon! read more
Came here with a friend who needed a cold beer after a long day...we all have been there before. I have passed by here and heard of it and so I was happy to try something new. The place has a lot of parking=always a plus. As you walk into their entrance there's a food stall outside. They were set up and I saw some shrimp cooking with the aroma of garlic. Yum. Walked into the open and spacious area, right to the stools at the bar. Sat down and were greeted by a friendly face. I looked at the menu and was not really feeling the beer at the time. I was support staff for my friend. However I was told that I should try their slushee radler. It's part beer and part lemon slushee. Let me tell you, it didn't disappoint at all. It's humid and hot and that thing hit the spot. The slushee I was told is made to precision so it's not too sour and not too sweet and it goes divinely with the beer. It was refreshing and delicious and definitely I will return for that! The only downfall is that the only food there available is the food truck. They don't serve food. It's ok, next time I'll go hungry and order something from outside!! read more
Oahu's newest brewery. Casual industrial look and located in the warehouse district of Kaka'ako and Ward. Rotating draft list of their beers. Rotating food trucks or BYOF. Open everyday! So no Monday blues if you're in the area looking for beers and grinds. The draft list had a wide variety of beers from Pilsners to Swartzbeers and plenty of IPA'S in-between. I tried almost everything and had no complaints! No flights are available, but you can order half pours for $4. Full pours are $8. The food cart @kababamama that was there serving up fast, tasty, Middle Eastern food choices. Saw tacos. Stuck around for the brew. There was a taco stand up front. Found a cozy cool brewery. Just happened to be in the area, after a workout. A nice, well lit location. There were a few interesting brews in the menu. Tried the pumpkin spice cream ale. So nice. read more

Checked out this brewery after a surf sesh and it hit the spot! It's a cute hole in the wall taco spot near Longs Halekauwila. The brewery has been open for almost a year and they serve both beer and slushies, which was cool. They even had a beer slushie! However, my favorite was the taco pop up outside of the brewery, called Taco Invader. The owner is from Mexico and has a variety of yummy made to order tacos. My favorite was the shroom chorizo and potato taco. It didn't taste like mushrooms! It honestly tasted like meat, which was so surprising. Will definitely good back for the food, vibes and friendly staff. read more

Kakaakos newest brewery! We went brewery hopping one night and ended up here (on a Monday when most places are closed) and it's open late (10pm!). We didn't get the food but they do have a food truck located outside if you're hungry - we saw the menu looked like tacos and chips/guac etc. I'm a huge IPA fan and they had a few IPAs (hazy and regular) on the menu - Local Legend. It was good! They also offer beer slushies which is wild to me but some people like them! I also loved the merchandise and after 5 beers I was feeling like shopping read more
