In a new economic reality, it's rare to see new breweries open. And thankfully for Oahu, Leahi Brewing Company has opened at Aloha Tower in the space of the old Hooters. It has an amazing view of Honolulu Harbor near the dock for the Star of Honolulu; so if you're doing a lunch or dinner cruise, this is a great spot for pre- or post- drinks! It's all open air, with tons of seating. They have outdoor tables, indoor overstuffed furniture, and bar seating. It's all set up for open large events, so if you're looking for a party location, this is a great spot to do it. Local catering is also available. They do no have food for purchase, but encourage you to bring your local favorites potluck style. This is a labor of love for the owners Mary & Mike. All purchases support Kuilei Cliffs and Mahi'ai Market; two great charitable initiatives on Oahu. They brew on site and are seeking to use all local adjunct ingredients like fruits, teas, coconut & cocoa, and of course coffee in their beers. All beers are reasonably priced on purpose, available in full or half pours. They have their own bathrooms on site. They have a fun merchandise area as well. Parking is part of the Aloha Tower complex with multiple lots, free for the first hour and cheap thereafter. This is a great place to support local and local charities on Oahu. They'd love to see you for a beer!

What a cute little find! I had to use the ladies room and stumbled upon this gem! You are able to bring your own food, which was even better! The server, possible owner, was friendly, knowledgeable and laid back :) the vibes were chill and welcoming!

Wine and a Persimmon Hefeweizen. Cold and refreshing.

I really enjoyed my time here and the ability to have a beer or drink next to the water and watch the boats come in to the main port and sunsets. There have been other establishments that have tried to sustain and ended up closing. Leahi Brewing is located next to the booze cruise and an ideal place to "tailgate" prior to the sunset cruise. I urge you to support this local business and patronize their establishment. Bring your own food and make it a special occasions.

Finally, the universe has allowed me to do good by using my greatest skill: drinking beer. Lē'ahi Brewing Company raises money to help restore the Kuilei Cliffs of Diamond Head. Thankfully, helping out tastes great. I enjoyed their delicious 100% Kona coffee stout and their refreshing starfruit IPL. The setting is gorgeous, especially when the sun starts to set. I hadn't been to Aloha Tower Marketplace since my high school reunion 16 years ago (pre-game at Gordon Biersch), and I had never had a reason to visit. But now I do. Thank you, Mary and Mike, for all you do for beer and the 'āina!

Taster portion of a few of their beers. All were soooo good!

I was really embarrassed even after my server sat me down, but she was extremely accommodating and understanding. Her app recommendations were spot on! The marlin toast and bang bang shrimp were delicious! I chose the garden burger based on my chef's recommendation, and it was a different experience for me. I was not very big on the texture, but the flavors were amazing. After finishing the burger, it made me want more. The onion rings were also on point! Was enjoying that while driving to my appointment. I thought I was pressed for time, but my take out order came to me super quickly, and that's what impressed me the most! Kinda weird to stop by a brewery since I don't drink, but I'm glad the food makes it worth the visit. Makes me wish I could drink since there were so many options to choose from.

Unfortunately, something has changed recently and you can see it throughout recent reviews here, which tells me this is a taught practice by management and not just one shady server. Mainly, being up charged or sold "extras" without disclosing they're actually add ons. Our table of 4 had 3 different sandwiches, 2 burgers and a chicken sandwich. While ordering the server offered each of us, "would you like fries, onion rings, or salad with that?" There was no disclosure of it being additional, and she never used the words add ons or extras. When the bill was received, all 3 that received the sandwiches and "sides" were shocked to see upcharges (example $5.00 extra for 1/4 cup of greens and 2 slices of cucumber) when we were being offered these with our orders. When I asked the server about the charge, I asked why it wasn't disclosed it was extra, and that we only answered her question of which side we wanted because she offered as if it was included, her responses were baffling. The first was "There's nowhere on island that serves fries with a sandwich", to which I said, "but you didn't say it was extra, you offered them as if they were included", she said "it's written on the menu". To note: fries, onion rings, and side salads are listed on the menu, in their own section, separate from the sandwich sections. So while it is written, they know exactly what they're doing when they offer you sides or sauces, and you can see other recent reviews here making the same complaint. This left an extra bad taste for our table as we had come in to help support them after the recent tropical storm left them without power. We were excited to participate in a local event they were hosting and help support them after losing stock and days being closed from the storm, just to have this shady process of being upsold things we didn't order (on a $350+ bill that also included shirts from their merch store). Scuzzy way of thanking your community for coming in and patronizing your restaurant. Really disappointed after years of Hana Koa being my favorite place.

Everyone was very nice there and the space was a good sports bar to watch the World Cup at. We sat at the bar so we could see the TVs, but there were plenty around the restaurant. The food was mixed reviews. The shrimp fried rice was really good, a bit on the oily side (personally don't mind that) and lacked salt, but that was an easy fix. The special was this pork belly (I think) and honestly it didn't wow me. It was a bit bland and also the amount was so small. The Macaroni salad was good and rice was good. The slaw, to me, was too crunchy and could have marinated longer to soften up. Again, this dish lacked salt. The Pina Coladas, were very tasty and refreshing, but were too sweet so it was hard to get a second one and come close to finishing. I had my partner help me drink it because it was too much. I'd still go again and try other things on the menu and maybe ask for the colada to not be too sweet

We were seated relatively quickly, outside, at a long picnic table. No problems there. But then... Our server (Andrew, I think that's his name...it was on the receipt but we literally never saw him after he took our order and then brought the bill), really didn't want any small talk at all. He seemed a bit annoyed when my fiancé asked about their own brews....almost like it would've been easier for him to just order Coors or something. You're a brewing company...people are going to have questions. All 4 of us ordered something different- Sicilian pepperoni pizza, some type of burger, pulled pork loaded fries, and a macadamia nut chicken salad. Food was average...you can tell they cater to tourists.. Our server never checked on us. He took our order, a runner brought the food out, and the next time he came to the table was with a bill. I actually had to flag down another service so we could cash out. I have so much respect for people working in the service industry. It's a hard job. You deal with people all the time and some of them are downright jerks. We weren't jerks. We were regular, nice customers. It takes a lot for me to not tip anywhere between 20-25%. Sadly, this was one of those times. 2 stars

The only difference to this establishment was instead of a server taking our order, we were instructed to go to the front podium to place the order when we were ready. We opted for the Fried Calamari with Cilantro Lime Aioli to start, and ordered the Chop Salad with Tofu and the Verde Bowl. The food came out so quickly, and we were actually surprised with the portion sizes for all the dishes. We were able to share the salad and bowl and still had enough to pack a take out box. Everything was delicious! I'm sure it can get busy on the weekends, but overall seems like a nice place to chill with good food, good drinks and good conversation. Wish we had more time to hang out!

The happy hour food menu has a nice selection, it's about $3 off the main menu pricing. The tots were $17 off the happy hour menu and a large order, definitely for sharing. The pork on it was a little dry but the corn, beans pico and sour cream made up for this, tots were fluffy and crispy. We liked this one overall. The ceviche was $26 (not on the happy hour menu), it was a portion for 1-2 people, the fish itself tasted fresh but I wasnt a huge fan of the ceviche flavor, I wish it was more lime/acid forward and would have liked an herbal element like cilantro to spice it up. The wonton chips were not great, they weren't crispy and tasted almost mealy, they also lacked salt, I imagine if they were freshly fried it would have been tastier. Service was very fast and polite. The vibes and seating options were great too. Would return, the empanadas looked tasty.

Also had a jug/pitcher of something light, although I can't remember what it was. Tasted just fine. Ordered the following: - Beef tacos - 5/10: shredded beef on a corner tortilla. A little overseasoned I thought. And cheddar cheese should not go on tacos. - Katsu chair siu - 5/10: Normally you'd get this traditional dish in pork or chicken. But they used char siu here. Wasn't working for me. - Fries with char siu on top - 4/10: meh. Char siu and fries don't go well with each other, especially when you drizzle teriyaki-type sauce on top. Too sweet that there's a bit of an imbalance in flavor. They also had open mic karaoke here. Crowd was kinda dead, so we tried to liven them up with a familiar country tune. Didn't work. Oh well. It's mid-week and we can't sing, so... Anyway, this isn't a bad spot to grab some brews and a few things to munch on. Onto the next.

We tried the paniolo burger (excellent) and the It's a Gouda burger (good, but I couldn't really taste the aioli or the Gouda). The mac salad on the side is fairly good although I prefer Zippy's because it's more flavorful. Kona's is a bit on the bland side. I got an itty bitty beer to go with my drink and didn't realize that the 5 ounce pour was basically the size of one of their little taster flight beers, but it's $4.25, where the 10 ounce is $6.25. Kind of wish my server had pointed out the 10 ounce is a better value, but they were extremely casual and seemed pretty distracted the whole time, so I don't think they thought to mention it. My partner and I had just finished a long hike and were excited to relax, enjoy a good meal, and watch the World Cup game. When we arrived, we approached the host stand to put our name on the waitlist. Instead of being greeted with a smile or any sense of hospitality, the host, Sarah, came across as very snarky, dismissive, and unwelcoming. She informed us there would be approximately a 45-minute wait, which we completely understood and were happy to accept. While waiting, we stood near the bar area so we could watch the World Cup match. Despite standing there for around 25 minutes, not a single bartender or employee acknowledged us, offered a menu, or even greeted us. Eventually, after about 30 minutes of waiting, a table in the bar area became available. Since it was empty, we sat down, assuming it was open. Within moments, the host approached us with the same rude attitude and told us that table was being held for another party. We politely asked to speak with a manager. Rather than responding professionally, she visibly rolled her eyes before going to get one, which only reinforced how unwelcome we felt. When the manager arrived, the interaction was equally disappointing. He never asked us what had happened or tried to understand our perspective. Instead, he immediately apologized and reiterated that the table was reserved for another waiting party. We didn't want to cause a scene, so we simply moved to another available bar table. What made the situation especially frustrating was that the original table they insisted was reserved remained empty the entire time afterward. No one was ever seated there while we watched. It left us questioning why such a rigid stance was taken over a seating arrangement that appeared easily manageable. The issue was never about having to move tables. We understand restaurants get busy and that hosts have to manage seating. The problem was the complete lack of hospitality, communication, and customer service. From the host's attitude and eye-rolling to the manager's unwillingness to listen before making a decision, we felt like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. As first-time customers, first impressions matter. We arrived excited to enjoy our evening, but instead left feeling ignored, dismissed, and genuinely unwelcome. A little kindness, professionalism, and a willingness to communicate could have completely changed this experience. Unfortunately, that's not what we received.
