Located next to Watanabe Florist, this huge warehouse is an awesome hidden gem in Kalihi. Easy parking, friendly staff and got a table right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the huge barrels and stainless kegs in there![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love that there is a lot of space and makes an awesome background pic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice ambiance![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cheers!

Super bummed they are closing shortly. Really enjoyed the live music and good cold tall glasses of beer. Prices were reasonable too. Good Hawaii pubs are dying out and it's sad to see them go. Our waitress was always coming by and even bringing us waters. Aloha 'oe HBW!

Give me one of Everything! ( Salted Caramel Stout, Kewalo Cream Ale, I'll Have what she's having, And the 8yr Woody.) These were good AF.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Made a pitstop during my Oahu mini vacation to this little place with good vibes, chill music, and tasty beer[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I literally walked in and said give me one of everything. Sure enough me and my girl were sharing tasters of everything they had available that day. Which was I believe a total of 10 beers on tap readily available. Service could've been a little better, but I don't know maybe because it was slow, or maybe because I had ordered all beers on flights. But if there is one thing that I do know, it's good beer. They do welcome people to bring outside food so that's pretty cool. I'd come back.

Honolulu is blessed with many craft breweries - and in my humble opinion, I believe I found my ATF in Hawaii, Honolulu Beerworks. Originally located in Kaka'ako (where other craft breweries are located), Honolulu Beerworks moved to an industrial, converted warehouse in Kalihi. It's beers are worth the drive, for me, it's the Hop Island IPA. It has the crisp, hoppiness (sort of West Coast style) which I seek. In addition to the IPA, there are others, but once I tasted the IPA, I am hooked. Parking is available in front of the establishment, even on the street. When you walk up to the brewery, you will be greeted and made welcome. [[HIGHLIGHT]]To the right is a small shop to be able to purchase the usual items (t-shirts, stickers, etc.) and to the left is a counter with chairs, and tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can walk to the "back" where you will see the massive tanks where the "nectar of Gods" are brewed - to the right are bourbon casks filled with beer to impart further flavor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are some snacks available, but you are there for beer so enjoy them. Purchase of sixpacks are available for takeout, and they are available in stores throughout the island. I'm in bliss finding the Hop Island IPA from Honolulu Beerworks - I did not imbibe the other offerings and may in the future, but in the meanwhile, the Hop Island IPA will be my choice of beer.

Celebrated a birthday here on a Friday night. I inquired through their website and exchanged email messages with their Assistant Manager. They didn't require a downpayment and everyone had their own tabs open. We had one server throughout the night named Justin. He was awesome and despite having almost 30-35 people, he was able to serve us quickly and efficiently. We were also able to bring a cake for the birthday boy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The corn holes on the Mauka Beer Garden was also nice. The string lights also gave a nice vibe to the night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only bad thing was the smell of the fermenting beer beside us. It wasn't too bad but if you're sitting right by the brewery area, you will notice it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cocktail drinks, beer availability, service, and venue was overall great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will consider having another event here again.

This was my first time here. It's got a relaxed, t-shirt & slippers, vibe. Our group was a party of 20. We sat outside at the picnic tables (3 of them) with table umbrellas. It was pretty humid out, but our server was quick with the cold drinks. I ordered a non-alcoholic beverage. It was a white tea with a medicine like flavor that was intolerable. I let the server know and he took it off my bill. I then ordered a diet Coke and a salad. I was looking forward to the beet salad that I saw on their website menu. It didn't look like the photo I saw online. It was a bit disappointing, but the flavor was good nonetheless. Four stars because our server was so on it. He was the only one assigned to our party and he made sure to keep checking on us. It's so important these days to have good help. I will come back here one day, but will try the other salad.

I'd never think to order a salad at a brewery but the Beet Da Mouth salad here is amazing!! Super fresh with a tangy beet vinaigrette, a touch of sweetness from the orange, and a little umami from the goat cheese...it is a truly dreamy salad! Also they have a great live music schedule!

First impression, a frat party on steroids.  Guys and ladies in togas, ladies with attitudes and great craft beer.  When I made my order, the female server rolled her eyes.  Reminiscent of almost every frat party I have ever been to. Hurray!!! I should say, the service was exceptional.  Everyone except for the one bartender was absolutely stellar. The manager Carrie here is great! Thank you Carrie! THE BEER: Cooke street USB English Style Bitter 5.9% ABV...  this is quite good Kaka'Ako Kolsch 6% ABV... what a great Kolsch and a perfect beer for Hawaii.  I found this beer style lacking here in Hawaii, but not at Honolulu Beerworks.  WINNING!!! Poseidon's Pilsner 5.1% ABV...  I finished with this.  Wish I could have started with it.  It was quite good. 24 dragons Imperial porter 10.5% ABV... thus is a smoked white porter and honestly one of the best beers I have had on the island of O'ahu... FIRE!!! So not what I expected, but exceptionally good, great, excellent! Hoppy Anniversary IPA 5.8% ABV... a delicious IPA, hop forward in the West Coast style Don't read the Rules DIPA 8% ABV... this is a sleeper, lower in ABV and sooo very drinkable, 2 or 3 of these and walking will be difficult Honolulu Beerworks is one of the most authentic breweries in Honolulu.

Our friends invited us here as his friends were playing just this past Friday. It was rainy day that day, and we didn't the side street parking to be full. It took us a bit of time to find parking, which is why I only gave 4 stars. I like the vibe here. It's an open air indoor space, but they also had outside space too. It can get really loud inside. There are also boardgames available. They had battleship, connect four and guess who. I feel like you can bring your own, just make sure you don't forget to bring it home. The servers were really nice, we were taken care of right away. They told us to scan the QR code for the menu. As soon as I saw the mac and cheese, I knew I had to get it. But since we were waiting for our friends still, we started with the garlic parm pretzels! Those were so delicious, it came with a mustard sauce. I personally didn't like the sauce as it was overpowering. Few minutes later our friends arrived and we ordered: * Chicken Mac and Cheese -- it tasted okay, but the macaroni was tasteless, it was bland. All I could taste was the breadcrumbs which added crunch to the dish. * Beef Dip -- they were pretty generous with the beef, but the portion for its price was definitely not with it. And I wish the cheese was melted which could've elevated the flavour. The dip was good too, I thought it'd melt the cheese but it didn't. * Takes Two to Mango -- refreshing! this one's a mocktail. * Beer Flight -- all delicious, but one stood out the most. I just can't remember which one.

    Glass always half full.

They have a great selection beyond their own beer, including cocktails, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, and guest taps. I especially loved that they offered smaller beer pours, which let me try several different beers without committing to a full pour of each. I was there for the beer, and I definitely wasn't disappointed! I was also really impressed by the food menu. They had lunch specials that sounded fantastic, and they even offer a brunch menu with special brunch cocktails. I wasn't hungry enough to try the food this time, but it definitely gives me a reason to come back. Great beer, a beautiful space, and lots of options for everyone. Unfortunately, something has changed recently and you can see it throughout recent reviews here, which tells me this is a taught practice by management and not just one shady server. Mainly, being up charged or sold "extras" without disclosing they're actually add ons. Our table of 4 had 3 different sandwiches, 2 burgers and a chicken sandwich. While ordering the server offered each of us, "would you like fries, onion rings, or salad with that?" There was no disclosure of it being additional, and she never used the words add ons or extras. When the bill was received, all 3 that received the sandwiches and "sides" were shocked to see upcharges (example $5.00 extra for 1/4 cup of greens and 2 slices of cucumber) when we were being offered these with our orders. When I asked the server about the charge, I asked why it wasn't disclosed it was extra, and that we only answered her question of which side we wanted because she offered as if it was included, her responses were baffling. The first was "There's nowhere on island that serves fries with a sandwich", to which I said, "but you didn't say it was extra, you offered them as if they were included", she said "it's written on the menu". To note: fries, onion rings, and side salads are listed on the menu, in their own section, separate from the sandwich sections. So while it is written, they know exactly what they're doing when they offer you sides or sauces, and you can see other recent reviews here making the same complaint. This left an extra bad taste for our table as we had come in to help support them after the recent tropical storm left them without power. We were excited to participate in a local event they were hosting and help support them after losing stock and days being closed from the storm, just to have this shady process of being upsold things we didn't order (on a $350+ bill that also included shirts from their merch store). Scuzzy way of thanking your community for coming in and patronizing your restaurant. Really disappointed after years of Hana Koa being my favorite place.

The special was this pork belly (I think) and honestly it didn't wow me. It was a bit bland and also the amount was so small. The Macaroni salad was good and rice was good. The slaw, to me, was too crunchy and could have marinated longer to soften up. Again, this dish lacked salt. The Pina Coladas, were very tasty and refreshing, but were too sweet so it was hard to get a second one and come close to finishing. I had my partner help me drink it because it was too much. I got an itty bitty beer to go with my drink and didn't realize that the 5 ounce pour was basically the size of one of their little taster flight beers, but it's $4.25, where the 10 ounce is $6.25. Kind of wish my server had pointed out the 10 ounce is a better value, but they were extremely casual and seemed pretty distracted the whole time, so I don't think they thought to mention it. The 15% off for kama'aina makes the food a better deal. A nice place for a bite to eat and to try some interesting beers and seltzers on tap.

My first visit to this restaurant was unfortunately a very disappointing experience from the moment…read morewe walked in. My partner and I had just finished a long hike and were excited to relax, enjoy a good meal, and watch the World Cup game. When we arrived, we approached the host stand to put our name on the waitlist. Instead of being greeted with a smile or any sense of hospitality, the host, Sarah, came across as very snarky, dismissive, and unwelcoming. She informed us there would be approximately a 45-minute wait, which we completely understood and were happy to accept. While waiting, we stood near the bar area so we could watch the World Cup match. Despite standing there for around 25 minutes, not a single bartender or employee acknowledged us, offered a menu, or even greeted us. Eventually, after about 30 minutes of waiting, a table in the bar area became available. Since it was empty, we sat down, assuming it was open. Within moments, the host approached us with the same rude attitude and told us that table was being held for another party. We politely asked to speak with a manager. Rather than responding professionally, she visibly rolled her eyes before going to get one, which only reinforced how unwelcome we felt. When the manager arrived, the interaction was equally disappointing. He never asked us what had happened or tried to understand our perspective. Instead, he immediately apologized and reiterated that the table was reserved for another waiting party. We didn't want to cause a scene, so we simply moved to another available bar table. What made the situation especially frustrating was that the original table they insisted was reserved remained empty the entire time afterward. No one was ever seated there while we watched. It left us questioning why such a rigid stance was taken over a seating arrangement that appeared easily manageable. The issue was never about having to move tables. We understand restaurants get busy and that hosts have to manage seating. The problem was the complete lack of hospitality, communication, and customer service. From the host's attitude and eye-rolling to the manager's unwillingness to listen before making a decision, we felt like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. As first-time customers, first impressions matter. We arrived excited to enjoy our evening, but instead left feeling ignored, dismissed, and genuinely unwelcome. A little kindness, professionalism, and a willingness to communicate could have completely changed this experience. Unfortunately, that's not what we received.
