Quonset hut retail building
Edge N.

This place is totally off the beaten path. Up kunia road inbetween kunia and wahiawa So pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Interesting the actual showroom is in a quonset hut (old military barracks corregated metal building) and its even a historical protected building. The insides of the building is beautifully renovated (pic). They sell whiskey..coffee... honey.. shirts mugs and some other retail stuff. The staff was super cool and friendly and even gave whisky and honey samples. They make their own whiskey (I dont drink anymore) but my co-worker said it was good. They also sell a tour and they have a restaurant in back but only experienced the retail side. Maybe will have to explore the outside restaurant later....A pretty cool experience off the beaten path.

This tour was absolutely delightful! We opted for the classic rum and ready-to-drink flights. Seeing everything from the sugar cane being juiced (and tasting it) to the distilling equipment, to the barrels, to the plants on site - it was well laid out and inclusive. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and honest if we had questions they were unsure of and circled back with us. We enjoyed the products so much we brought some home!

Sorry if we shouldn't feed the kitty, but I couldn't help myself. :)

The staff is great! They're all fun, friendly and knowledgeable. They greet you and make you feel welcomed, even when they're busy. They mentioned the BBQ in the back which we weren't aware of. It was delicious. (and it was a good idea to eat before drinking). Due to the timing, we had to skip the tour and go straight to tasting. We chose the Classic Rum Flight. We enjoyed the Kokoleka which is a sweeter dark rum. The price was very low considering the tasting and explanation of each item.  I highly recommend a visit to Ko Hana Distillers!

This experience surprised me. I'm not a big fan of rum. Never, in a million years, would I ever think I would drink rum without being mixed with something. It was so good that we bought some and flew home with it! Unfortunately, I found out I have expensive taste and purchased the most expensive bottle they have. My husband, who does not drink liquor other than wine and beer, actually loved it and bought some as well. The tasting was a great experience. Very educational and the staff were really nice.

Aged Rum Tasting

Our friends invited here to hangout over lunch. We grabbed lunch, sat outside, and participated in the "Aged Rum Tasting". Food The food was delicious. We grabbed their 4-item mixed plate and shared as a family. All the food tasted delicious and there was enough food to share for two adults, a child, and a toddler. I rescheduled my business, inter-island flight to accommodate. Service The service was great! All the staff were friendly and warm. From the food staff to the tasting staff. Sitting Area There were enough picnic tables in the sitting area to go around for us. It was a little warm. I remember getting slightly uncomfortable. Please bring your own high-chair because they do not have any here. They had a nice grass area for the kids to play, however, there was no barrier to prevent the kids from running into the parking lot or street which didn't allow us to relax. I wish it was a controlled area. Tasting My friend invited me over to do their tasting and it was great. The rum was delicious and well-spaced. I am a hard drinker and their "Kila" line was the smoothest and most delicious. It was a little pricey, but what do I know. Great experience but could be better!

I was looking for a fun date idea and came across Ko Hana's Distillery Tour. I was able to make reservations online and the workers kindly gave us a Kama'aina discount when we arrived. The tour was relatively intimate with a group of about a dozen people plus a knowledgeable guide. At the start of the tour we were given a tasting of freshly squeezed sugar cane juice as we learned about the background and history of the distillery and industry in Hawaii. As we explored the garden and barrel house, our guide told us more about the rum making process. At the end of the visit we were able to taste the rum we learned so much about. We chose the classic flight. You can also chose to get a cocktail flight or upgrade to an aged rum flight. Overall, this was a very fun experience. I came in knowing literally nothing about rum but came out feeling like a rum expert. (Or at least not a rum novice.) They have lots of parking at the front, restrooms, and even a yummy barbecue restaurant attached called "This Lil Piggy". If you don't have time to do the whole tour, they also have individually packaged chilled drinks in their gift shop that you can purchase and enjoy in their patio.

Wonderful tour and place to visit! My wife and I went here last Friday and were greeted by JB. Very nice person and very knowledgeable. She took us on a tour of the sugar cane fields, barrel aging, distilling process and finally tasting. What a wonderful time in such a nice clean comfortable atmosphere. We samples the Legacy brands and the fruity drinks. The legacy brands were very smooth and tasty. The mixed drinks like the Mai Tai, Daiquiri and Blue Hawaii were our favorites, actually all of the flavors were our favorite. So much we ordered a bunch of bottles to be shipped to our home in California. Very very delicious! This is such a great place to visit!

My +1 and I signed up for a rum tasting tour, and we had a great time. Ko Hana distillery is not hard to find, though it is just off the beaten path. I wanted to try a rum tasting tour while I was in the area, found it on Google, and even came across a Groupon deal on two rum tasting tours. We opted for the shorter tour because of the deal, but we didn't feel like we missed out on much. Our tour guide took us outside and showed us different types of sugarcane that they use in a little garden. If we would have chosen the longer tour, they would've actually taken us out to the sugarcane fields, but really we just wanted to learn about their process there and taste some different rums. So we got to see where they keep the barrels and where they distill the spirits before returning inside for the tastings. My plus one tried the classic tastings, and I opted for the slightly pricier barrel, aged tastings. You can't go wrong either way, but if you have the pallet for sipping on different flavors of rum, then I would go with the barrel aged. Either way, they gave us generous pores of each and told us what distinguished each one from the others. I particularly appreciated the Koa, which had a rich red hue from the Koa wood it was aged in, though I ended up taking a small bottle of the more inexpensive Koho home. Overall, it was a fun experience and I'd recommend it.

We went on an informative tour that teaches you not only about their rum but also about the history of the land it's now on. From it going through Del Monte to them, it is history that is fun to learn about. Some of the homes that the plantation workers lived in are still up and are being used as domiciles to this day. As for their rum, it's authentic sugar cane rum, free from the impurities and shortcuts found in mass-produced ones. They will show you the different types of sugar cane and walk you through their rickhouse. As a bourbon fan, it was surprising to learn that they source barrels from Kentucky to age some of their rum. The staff was friendly, and their gift shop and tasting room have a welcoming and relaxing feel to them. If you're into your craft distilleries, then stopping here is a no-brainer.

Take the tour. It's fun and ends in a tasting. The staff are super friendly, it's a quick but informative tour , it doesn't require acres of walking , you get to see a giant tortoise and you learn about sustainable agriculture and the cask room smells great ! The tasting starts with a squeeze of sugar cane. Surprising that there's so much juice in it ! Then the various flights of rum. Some are super strong, others I would confuse with bourbon and one would be amazing in a "Irish coffee" (would that be Hawaiian coffee) You also get to taste some chocolate ! It's SO good Off the beaten path but worth the trip.

I am not sure how I haven't been here before . I got invited by a member of the distillery and I am grateful for the experience. The history of the farm and sugar production was so interesting. We had such a great guide/host! Kaimana was so much fun and down to earth. Made our experience what it was!!! The store was full of really cool gift ideas and of course I left with a good collection of things! Also, the rum cake and a collection of chocolate bars! The tastings can be for anyone, you can taste the cocktails or the aged Rum. I went with the aged rum, but watched another tasting and they also loved their picks! It was so good we left with 3 bottles to add to our collection! Worth the trip out there! We will go back to show this distillery to more of our friends!

If you're in the area, you should definitely stop by. Great hospitality we had a sample of their rum my favorite is there Hawaiian rum, crafted, wood, cacao, and honey.

Had a great experience with Andy taking the tour. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the product on this distillery. The ambiance was very good and for a boutique distillery the pricing seemed fair. Overall just a great tour experience for me and my family. Thanks!

I hosted an intimate luncheon for 12 to celebrate my mom, who was everything to me and who passed away suddenly. She loved to host beautiful events and created many memories for this group of besties. You can imagine how high the stakes were to create an event worthy of my mom and befitting of the love our guests felt for her. I wanted it intimate, elegant, delicious, and memorable. Enter Chef Eric. Knowing how special this event was for me, he requested a list of foods that either she loved or had special meaning to her, and based on that, he created a menu inspired by memories but enhanced with his culinary genius. I loved how excited he was to compose the menu. We enjoyed a five-course plated meal, meticulously timed and served...a fine dining experience in a hotel suite with sweeping views of Waikiki. For each course, I explained the memory behind it and Chef Eric explained his take on the dish. Every course seemed to outdo the previous one (Kaluga caviar on handmade rice cracker with furikake crème fraiche, king crab Waianae salad, Ewa corn bisque with Kona abalone and Hokkaido scallop, braised short rib with macadamia crumble and Manoa gremolata) culminating in Mom's favorite dessert: cherries jubilee! Chef Eric also prepared a special vegan meal for one friend and surprised my pescatarian husband with a special fish entree which Chef caught himself the day prior. Oh yes, he's a talented fisherman, too. His professional and seasoned team Susie (server) and Devin (sous chef) were not just supporting the event, they were part of it. This dream team of three understood the importance of this celebration and their care and aloha radiated into the food and service. We were all blown away by the heart and soul that went into curating and preparing that very special meal. I liken Chef Eric's food to how I describe my mom: EPIC. Thank you, Chef Eric, for all the thought, care, planning, flawless execution, and, most of all, HEART that you poured into that beautiful and memorable event.
