Storm is sweet, caring, and you can tell he absolutely loves his craft. You can tell that he genuinely wants to help. He's a person that has found his life mission and is loving it. That much is clear. I've found that if you go into any type of divination method whether it tarot or intuitive readings, the more you help your reader, the more you'll get out of it. Being skeptical doesn't help anything. I had very specific questions that I wanted answers for. I "thought" I knew what the answer was going to be - but what I ended up with was something different. What he did was remind me of who I really am and guided me from a choice / path that truly isn't right for me. It's only been a few weeks since our reading - and it's still not determined whether the path will completely pan out in the physical sense, but I don't need that to know the outcome in order for me to know that that this was a therapeutic session and I'm thankful for having done it. What to say, what to say... I visited with Storm yesterday, and it's safe to say that it has recently been a pretty tumultuous time in my life. Accordingly, I went in with ... hmm... a hope, or maybe an expectation, or maybe a combination of both, that he'd be able to provide me with some clarity. Let me put it out there that I only visited him because of some of the Yelp reviews that I saw here, and because my ex had been to see him too. My friends, you did not steer me wrong, and Storm did not disappoint. Storm begins his session with some calm, fun, harmless banter. We broke the ice, spoke pleasantly for a few minutes, and talked about the most friendly of subjects. I mentioned to him how he had come highly recommended, and he was modestly pleased to hear that. Believe me when I say this my fellow yelpers, you will not fine a more easy going, sincere, nice person than Storm. He put me in a place where all of my skepticism and nervousness that existed before were no more. I was ready to begin. The session itself was on the nose at every turn. Life, work, love, family, past, present, future -- all were examined in detail and provided feedback that I could genuinely agree with as being accurate. Moreover, everything Storm did, said, and asked me led me to believe that - not only was he the real deal - but that he actually cares/cared about my emotional well being, my ability to process the information he was giving me, and my strength to tackle the problems we discussed. I recently moved to Lower Haight, and while bumping around buying Xmas prezzies slash checking out my new hood I decided to check out Swankety Swank. They had small watercolor paintings of X-Men for sale, and when I heard that what they actually were were gift certificates for an hour-long X-Men tarot card reading, my heart leapt. Perfect jokey present, right? Sure. I decided to try it out, though, because the concept was SO AWESOME it made me giddy. I'm not a tarot-y person. When I was younger I had the requisite "books by Robert Anton Wilson/Subgenious/Crowley/REsearch phase," but I never took it seriously and mainly just liked them because I have paranoid tendencies and a love for cultural footnotes. That's as close to spirituality as I ever came. So believe me when I say that having Storm read my cards was TOTALLY FUCKING MIND-BLOWING. And I'll tell you why: Storm's a goddamn genius. Beyond the fact that he's genuinely intuitive in a way that I literally cannot believe I'm discussing in a public forum (Jean-Grey facing outwards as the 9 of spades led him to say, "You're probably having nightmares about money lately," when in fact I'd woken up the night before at 4 a.m. with investment-based night terrors), Storm has found a way to make a thing I've always filed under witch-y, hippie bullshit accessible to a jaded sociopath like me. Here's the thing. I have NO IDEA what the 2 of Swords means in traditional tarot. It's based on archaic symbolism with various shades of meaning and (usually) poorly drawn images (sorry, Rider-Waite). But I pretty much instinctively know what Jubilee high kicking someone in the face means. Or Iceman doing his thing and looking awesome. Or Magneto looking super-pissed. And not only does Storm draw from the card itself while explaining the tradition meaning thereof, he also has an encyclopedic knowledge of the various X-Men storylines, and he weaves that into the narrative, as well. And then you can pile on Storm's personal mutant abilities (because I'm SO MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE with the concept of someone having mutant powers rather than psychic ones), and whoops! I've got a standing monthly appointment with the man. Cuz you know what? Everyone needs a spiritual guide at some point. I got lucky and found a supertall, totally attractive one who wears makeup and can geek out metaphysically on comic books. Which, I feel, kicks the shit out of an emaciated hairy gnome in a mountain who speaks in riddles. Everyone come drink the Kool-Aid. It's incredible. read more

I don't even know how to start...I'm writing this review just as I've hung up with Storm and I'm still reeling from the experience. First off, I must talk about him though. He is a REALLY nice person and makes you feel so comfortable. Talking to him was like...talking to a close friend that I've always looked to for guidance rather than a complete stranger. He is not afraid to share his own experience which for me, meant a lot and assured me also. As for the reading, I was initially thinking about doing it through e-mail but decided to do it on the phone. Then I thought "okay, I'm only going to do 30mins because I'm sort of awkward and I don't know how it'll go but what if it goes well and I want an hour?" Well I asked Storm and he was so nice about it! I told him it was my first time doing a reading, ever, and he told me a few things that reassured and prepped me for the session and he even said he'll be okay upgrading to an hour at any point in the reading if I wanted to. That response alone made me decide to upgrade to an hour instead of 30mins, which I do not regret whatsoever!!! He even did it on a weekend, labor day, no less. Which I feel bad about but to me, that speaks volumes about a person who is willing to take time out of their weekend for others. He was also really reassuring and nice about it too. Okay now really onto the reading. I want to start out by saying I'm not generally a person that believed in such things but I wanted to give it a try because well...why not and I am stuck in a sort of a rut so maybe this will help provide some insight. So when he first called me, he had already drew some cards and all of them described me and my situation perfectly. I felt super comfortable talking to him about my situation and the advice and personal experience he provided truly helped open my eyes, as cliche as that sounds, but it is completely true, to problems that have been plaguing me for a while now. It made the whole experience feel very personal, in a good way. I have to say after this whole experience, I love Storm (not in that way...:p)! and would definitely do more readings with him again. I cannot emphasize how much better I feel after the whole experience (it's like a boulder being lifted off my body or something). He's supposed to be coming back into the city in October and I look forward to doing an in person reading (maybe I'll be less awkward then)! I've been meaning to write a review for a long time now, but thought there were so many things I had to say that I would not know how to start. I guess I should start by saying that I've known Storm for over a year now. Back then, I was really looking for a tarot teacher and thought it would be better if I first looked for a reader, got a reading from them, and later figured out if I would have them as a teacher. That's what happened with Storm. I loved my first reading! He is one of the warmest people I know! And guess what? He is now my teacher. Yes! He is a tarot teacher as well! I bet you didn't know that. He is super well-organized, he plans classes and lessons based on your needs and interests. He works FOR and WITH you. I'm still his student and right now I can see we have grown a lot together, I've learnt soooo much from him! And it has always been about the subjects and things that I wanted to learn, read about, or find out. We also found ourselves getting interested in other subjects while reading and studying tarot, and we would actually end up reading about new stuff together and discovering a whole new way of looking at things. That's another great thing about Storm, he will guide you and help you dive into new things, even when they are not that familiar to him. Whenever I tell him I'm getting interested in a new subject, he will look for the perfect book to get started and will read it with me so that we will both learn about it together, making the experience richer in content and perspective. Also, he helps me explore my own intuition and work with it in order to develop my own power. He knows I love writing too, so any of the exercises he suggests are related to creative writing as well as practical essay-like texts. He knows I like art as well, so he would sometimes have me draw or paint something related to any card or subject that inspires me. It's amazing to see how much you can learn about yourself through it! I'm so grateful for having him as my teacher, he is most certainly a wise and loving guide. Let me first say that I'm not into the tarot/future-telling/soothsaying scene. I don't normally buy into it. I don't consider myself especially spiritual. I've had tarot readings before, but they were always quick experiences, over before I could get into any kind of receptive mindset, and easily dismissed. I just had my reading earlier today. It was a very nice and pleasant experience! Mr. "Magickal" Storm Arcana was very easy going and upbeat. I had no problems with him during our session. I was also surprised to hear that he's based here in Hawaii. So am I. For me I was looking for what career path should I take. What he told me was where I should focus my energy on and he also told me what career path was giving out the most positive energy. This gave me more clarity and what direction I need to move into. He did mention 2 other career paths that I brought up earlier. One of them was giving out pretty good energy, but not as much as my primary career path. Then my last career path was giving out more of a neutral energy. Nothing bad and nothing strong. So he advised me that I should focus on my first 2 career paths. Now that last career path is not something that is dead, but something that is just not giving off a lot of positive energy at this time. He advised me that if I wanted to I can make an appointment and set aside some time maybe just once a week to work on my last career path if I so choose to. I did my homework on Yelp when looking for a Tarot reader in San Francisco. We were spending a couple of weeks visiting and thought it would be fun to have a reading. Yelp had nothing but stellar reviews on Heroic Tarot and so we made our appointments and looked forward to the event. Storm is an absolutely charming person and we enjoyed meeting him, HOWEVER, as far as the reading went either he is so far superior from anyone else we have ever seen (and this is not our first time at the rodeo) that it was just beyond our grasp to appreciate his reading or we had just paid a lot of $$$ for a very dissappointing experience...at the end of the session, I had no idea what it was he was trying to "read" and one look at my friend after her session and I knew she was just as dissappointed and baffled. My vague, preconceived notions of a Tarot Card reading - a person garbed in many layers of exotic clothing, sprinkled with a rich tapestry of obscure trinkets, speaking in a low, half-whispered, enigmatic voice to suggest that there's something more to what (s)he's saying in a darkly-lit, almost dungeon-like ambiance - were slapped senseless as soon as I walked into Storm's shop. The reading took place in a furniture/accessories store in Lower Haight. We were greeted by a shrill and friendly "Hi" emanating from a nomal, well, normal enough, looking man who was rearranging furniture for our session. Storm sat us down and proceeded to tell us how the couples reading would proceed. He made it very clear that all he was attempting to do was provide a empathic, storytelling experience. I appreciated this frankness. The reading itself lasted 90 minutes. Being the skeptic that I am, I was on guard at first, meaning that anything that came out of Storm's mouth was processed through a mental machina that labeled everything as either "That feels about right" or "That's BS". Despite this, Storm's friendliness made me actually start listening to him in a holistic manner, and I was thoroughly entertained at the stuff I found about ourselves. He first did individual readings. We pulled many cards at random and he wove little stories about each. Eventually, he tied together our individual personas and told how we work together and what we could do to improve our relationship. I am completely blown away by Storm's reading. Storm is very nice, emphatic, non judgmental and very intuitive. He is able to articulate the meaning of each Tarot card with the context of the individual's situation. I recently hired STORM to come to a private party in my home. I had about a dozen guests and decided that having a tarot card reader would be something fun and different for my guests. That was a good move :) STORM was a huge hit at my party. He arrived, as planned, dressed appropriately and a little earlier than the party start time. I'm visiting my girlfriend in San Francisco for the summer, and had the strange desire to visit a fortune teller/psychic/whatever just for kicks. Didn't really expect much of it, but turned to yelp to help me find the most psychic-est psychic out there, if one exists. We're both skeptics and approached this as something to do for fun. Saw Heroic Tarot and Storm and XMEN CARDS and I was sold. Unfortunately, he was in New Mexico, but we (err, more like "I") were so intent on getting our cards read using x-men characters before I left next week that we did a phone session, it wasn't a big deal and he said he'd send a picture of our spread afterwards. Though it would have been cooler to do it in person, so it didn't feel like I was calling 1-900-MISS CLEO (just a joke...,) we enjoyed the experience. Storm is a very nice, thoughtful gentleman and seems to be fairly intuitive and experienced with tarot cards. I say that as someone who has had zero experience with tarot cards or tarot card readers in the past, but it seemed like he had a rich storage of background knowledge and experience to draw from as he was making his readings. Some declarations made me think long and harder about what it meant to me, and there were some things that he remarked about me seemed to be very personal and to bring it up was almost uncanny (not a coincidence that I would use that word.) I didn't consent to going through with his readings on my relationship, but kind of wish I did now, because he seemed to have a lot left to say when my time ran up. Overall, a fun experience with a very nice guy. We caught him in the middle of the desert in New Mexico, and even if we don't believe in this sort of thing, the fact that he can help bring some issues to fruition and help us think through things is worthwhile enough, 'psychic' or not. This is pretty much one of the best and most amazing experiences you can have. You walk into one of the nicest cutest boutiques in the city and a nice man offers you tea or water and then gives you some tools to use on your life path. While obviously you have to go for an X-men reading, sometimes Storm will use some of his other divination tools to help guide you as well which is not only super helpful but super generous. Sitting there, even though I know he couldn't tell (I'm a bit reserved), I was thinking I want this guy to be my best friend. He and his guides are amazing. This will probably be the most personal and intimate and sincere readings you will ever get so don't pass it up. I''ll be more detailed now if you care to read: Just like anyone will probably tell you his attunement and his guides have it going on. My reading hit on all of the hot spots and hard spots in my life and did give me a clear idea of things to do to live the life path that I want. There was this serious Rogue - Gambit moment in my reading that made me want to cry and pee my pants at the same time. Except for Bishop and Storm, and as my final card Jubilee. My cards were repetetive characters which means the same numbers in the minor arcana and I had a lot of cross sections that were equal to either ten or an even number and ten is a completion and usually even number are resting places except for the fours - which I pulled out first thing which was completely accurate as well. I pulled the four of cups which is a sign of needing a change or reevaluation of things but also of holsing onesself back. Picture it like this - when you have the three of cups you have a trinity of good things that each cup represents (I akin this to the rule or threes or even teh holy trinity), but when you get to the four of cups there is this extra element and it doesn't fit in with the rest of what's going on, it's a need or a want that exceeds the goodness of the three of cups and the person wants that fourth cup so badly but also doesnt know how to attain it. And sometimes its kind of like wanting more than you need. In some decks a person is reaching out for the cup and in some decks a figure can't see the cup. It this unknown and contemplation that has to occur to be able to realize that intangible want but also realize the three of cups and what they've already offered. In the X-men deck this is represented by Rogue being frustrated and in a pose that was showing that the direction of her attack hadn't been determined yet, this still so shows the energy of that card. And the energy of who I was and what was going on with me the moment I sat down with Storm. It's Eery. The fact that I had repetetive characters told Storm that I'm ina place in my life of transition but also a lot of work. The cards repeatedly told me numerically where I was, and repeatedly reinforced it and through the suits told me what I needed to. Repeats of three, fours, and sixes which tells me I'm very much in the middle of a process with the question that I posed to the cards, and as time passes I feel that's true. The characters also mostly had close links to each other that everything I do in this matter will be connected to my ultimate goal so each move I make is important. It was insane how good a reading this was. And as time passes how more and more true it becomes. He also pulled out a couple of other tools to help me on my way which I've also been using, and I want to thank him very much for htat. This man is amazing, he's gifted, he's kind. And I don't know how but I have a feeling that with each person he sits with he connects with exactly how to communicate with them. This hit me at a point where he was talking about havign conviction about things and it's like if you can tap into your kundalini energy and have it connect with the earth. Some people don't know that kundalini energy is energy held within the spine that is extremely powerful and some believe leads to enlightenment when fully released or full flexibility of the spine is achieved. Kundalini was a concept I was introduced to at 12 when I bought a lot of workout dvd's on ebay and ended up getting a ravi singh dvd and I wanted to learn more about it in a less superficial way. To think about having conviction in that way, like the spine or snake - to be rigid, but flexible, to be strong and to carry the weight of everything around you seemingly with ease was exactly what I needed.
