The short review: Tiare is great at what she does, which from my experience, is partially comprised of using cleverness and intelligence to help you find out what is important to you, how important it is to you, and how to generally but authentically take steps to allow fulfillment of said goals. Hi. somewhat long, somewhat emotional review: I previously filed dreamboarding and other similar methods of self development as hippie nonsense and completely discredited it along with with other nonsensical hippie practices such as astrology. Me, being the linear thinking Virgo sun, Aries rising, moon in Sag that I am. But I went anyway, maybe because I needed to test the process in order to invalidate it. *record scratch* Plot twist: dreamboarding with Tiare helped me to put the metaphorical turn signal on so that I could change direction in the cosmic car of my life that I didn't even know I was driving. Honestly at that time I probably wasn't even driving it. Tiare is masterfully talented at this. The specific skill that I've experienced with Tiare is that she creates a comfortable mental & emotional space for you to consider your life experience and what you want from it. I mean like what you aaaacccctuuuualllly want from it, you know like the things you maybe don't tell your friends or significant other because like maybe it's too "crazy" or maybe even "you don't deserve that level of success" or whatever. Okay that was obviously super not even a little bit about myself but moving on... I feel like life is a game, you're the player/main character of your life, and Tiare's Aloha Dreamboard is a cheat code. But I want to be clear and tell you from my own personal experience that making a dreamboard isn't literally a magical potion that will transform your life because you made a pretty cork-board that looks great on your instagram. The process itself is a great psycho-emotional exercise that allows you to begin clearing the path between where and what you are, and where you want to-- and what you want to be. When you're done, the dreamboard itself, displayed in a very conspicuous place, is a constant reminder of the potential self that you have allowed to finally be recognized. From that point on you really only take two actions: do what is clear and within your capability to do to shorten the space between yourself and your goal(s), or get out of your own way. Not long after we made myself one, I brought my daughter Zion (9 at the time) to meet Tiare and also have a dreamboard session. What does a nine year old have goals for? Well, being a photographer and Bruno Mars among other things. Obviously. But seriously, here's an example of how dreamboarding magic works. The process has been truncated here because I obviously already am writing way too much. Step 1. Tiare & Zion talking privately (at length, Tiare being clever and masterful) ***(a bunch of secret stuff because it was a private session for the two of them)*** Step 26. Zion with a completed Dreamboard (two small parts include photography and Bruno Mars) Step 33. Zion mentioning to her mom that she really likes photography. Step 46. Me talking about Bruno Mars being on Zion's board to a friend because Bruno Mars was actually in town. Step 74. Random family friend gives Zion a Canon Rebel camera because she overheard a conversation about Zion and photography. Step 77. Zion and I get complimentary tickets from a friend of mine. Tickets are in the seventh row, center to Bruno Mars in Honolulu. (I skipped a bunch of steps because I don't know what they were. These things sort of just happened) Tiare is one of the humans that taught me that sometimes the work is ours, and sometimes it isn't. So you work when the work is yours to do, and you get of the way when it isn't. Tiare is also the human that taught me (through dreamboarding and the consultation) how to open up to myself and allow my own goals and aspirations to come to the forefront of my consciousness. And that's the part of the magic that you yourself are responsible for, because (thanks, Tiare) when your goals (Bruno Mars tickets, photography aspirations, traveling, being on tour) are leading your thoughts and actions, the highly likely eventuality: you will reach them, or they will reach out to you. **cosmic hippie nonsense trigger warning** I think I've learned that life is definitely about the journey. Its about experiencing and learning and interacting and trying super hard and sometimes missing the mark and ultimately, I guess, dancing when the music is still playing (got that last bit via a facebook video). Given 6 months of much more effective sessions with another counselor back in CA, she was also three times the cost for a maturity and depth that has yet to hit its prime. Tiare has graciously volunteered her time over the past few summers to lead a Dreamboard Workshop for our summer school students at Iolani School. Dreamboarding is an excellent way for the students to envision all of the things they want and what type of future they'd like to create for themselves.
