I went in to get my iPad restored per Apple cares request. The gentleman told me all I needed was a plug. I had the wrong plug. I had 10 different Apple approved plugs that didn't charge the iPad but the plug he sold me and showed me that it worked and it did for one charge only. I was going holo and needed the iPad to work but now I'm on the big island The next day and my iPad is not charging again with his new plug so I'm stuck here without my iPad. I believe it needed to be restored like AppleCare had suggested But he insisted it needed a plug and although I had tried many many other ones prior and let him know that he still insisted that I had the wrong plug and he had the right plug and now I don't think he was right I'm sorry to say thumbs down for that visit read more

I would give them TEN stars if I could. Twice now in as many years they have helped me get my Iphone started again. And with no charge!! The first time I walked in with no appt and the gentlemen ended up spending about 2 hours screwing around with my phone to get it started and the data back on. He was helping other customers but he did spend a lot of time on it. This time, today, was a simpler fix for the guy working (should have caught his name) but still I spent hours looking on line and trying to figure it out. I did not know much about Mac Made Easy but I live in Kailua and spilt Miso Ginger Dressing on my laptop (Apple Mac Book Pro 2019) keys so there we ended up. In my panic I made worse things worse. Thankfully my laptop was checked inside and out and miraculously put back together (because I ripped the keys off). I am a happy customer and so very thankful they could help. They sell all apple accessories, even more than I have even seen in the actual Apple store and they will give you an honest and fair professional opinion and price. 7/22/23: Brother in hospital requested longer iPhone cable. Decided fastest was to go by this store on way to hospital. Saturday hours are 10AM-3PM. I arrived @11am ish. Their door (entrance) on the 2nd floor was locked. I could see thru the shade that someone was inside, so I knocked. I could see the employee inside walk out of view, so I thought maybe they just needed to use the bathroom. No sign indicating any reason to NOT having an unlocked entrance door during normal business hours. I waited a few minutes then called the store, no answer. Again, I could see the employee, so I knocked, again the person moved out of view...so again I waited a few more minutes and knocked again...still no answer to the door during normal business hours. PUT A SIGN ON YOUR DOOR, if you are 1. Appointment only. 2. Having a class? 3. Taking a break? 4. Any other reason for locking your door during normal business hours so we don't waste our time and you don't get these negative reviews... read more

This is my second review, as Yelp pulled my first one. Probably an indication that the business didn't want it public facing. After coming here twice, I experienced the same poor service. 1st Visit: Booked an appointment via Apple for my iPhone (cracked screen) since the Apple store was limited because it was the beginning of the pandemic. I drove 45min to the location, only to be told the person that does the diagnostics is out. How about a courtesy call, it's not like I was the first appointment for the day. Someone could've reviewed the scheduled appointments and scoped what work was being done that day. Additionally, I'm certain this is a skill that can be easily repeated by anyone with the credentials to the tool. I cancelled my appointment and decided to go with the Oahu iPhone mobile tech (recommend). I never heard back from Mac Made Easy regarding the poor experience. 2nd Visit: Out of desperation, I needed to have my MBP screen replaced by Mac Made Easy. As they allow you to take your laptop home after diagnostics (essential work on laptop). Since communication is non-existent with this business, the timing of me bringing my laptop in before they need to send the Apple part back was always inconvenient. Thus not being able to get my laptop fixed, which took over 1 month for me to finally give up on this business. Things to consider before going here... 1) Many of the repairs can be located on YouTube and Tikotok 2) If the part must be replaced by a Apple certified tech, take it to an Apple store. 3) Expecting SOME level of communication and updates via SMS, email or chat bot, go to Apple. 4) Don't want to be kept in the dark...go to Apple. 5) If your 3k-5k device is collecting dust while they wait for parts...go to Apple. 6) Would like to enjoy life...go to Apple. Our son's MacBook Air has issues with its monitor and the friendly expert at Mac Made Easy was able to look it up in the database and confirm that we didn't buy AppleCare. We should have but - next time! The computer is still functional so we decided not to splurge on a repair. We were able to recycle some old Macs that we have been meaning to take down for a long time. Nice clean store. Super knowledgeable help. Easy to park in back too. Literally the WORST store. Just go straight to apple. I took my laptop that had water damaged and just wanted them to transfer my files onto a drive. They told me about a week or less. Keep in mind I didn't have much to transfer over (less than 1 TB). They charged me over $100 for the 1 TB drive and told me that was probably the best price I was going to get it for. After dropping off my laptop and buying the 1 TB drive at Mac Made "easy" I went to Costco a few days later and found a 8 TB for $129 of the same brand!!! Not only did they rip me off but I waited over a week to hear any news on my laptop. Keep in mind I am a full time online college student due to COVID and go to The University of Alabama. So having a laptop and my assignments is extremely important. They assured me it wouldn't take more than a week since it was only 1 tb and I was only doing a data transfer. After a week of nothing I called to check in and the lady at the front desk had an terrible attitude with me and told me that it would be at least another week until I get it because they hadn't even started on it. While on the phone she also told me that 2 other people were apparently ahead of me (wonder how long they had been waiting too). She then tells me she will email a technician and see if anyone can help move it along sooner than another week. So says she will call me back later and hangs up. I waited all day to hear back, just for her to call me after store hours and won't answer when I called back 30 seconds later. Next day I called to check in again because I was going to cancel it all and get a hell of a lot of money back. Just magically of course they had began doing the transfer. After treating me like I was bothering them and I wasn't their priority at all. I was paying for their help and service and yet I felt like I was not important and the lady in front had a terrible attitude. Save your money and go else where. The staff is rude, they are slow, complete rip off, and they don't care about you at all. Literally so disappointed. Wanted to support a local business especially during COVID but I for sure will NEVER be going back to this place. read more

The customer service was great but I will not be bringing back any of my devices. I came here to have my Face ID repaired and now I don't have my phone for who know how long. 1. I went to the store and explained the problem with my phone. My Face ID wasn't working. Told me it was an easy fix and all they had to do was wait for the part to come in. They did the diagnostics and everything else, checked my phone of any damages. All cleared. This phone was brand new as well and just got it in march. iPhone 13 pro max 2.I get a call saying they had the part and to bring it in and they could do it right away. I told them okay I will be there in 10 minutes. Get there in 10 minutes and told me it was going to be an hour to repair. So come back in an hour or i will receive a call through my partners phone. We checked to see if they had the correct phone number 3 times. This was at 11am. Two hours passes and I still didn't receive a phone call so I called and they told me that it will be done by the end of the day. 4pm comes around I still haven't received a call so I called them saying "hey, if you didn't get to my phone yet, no worries I can bring it another day" 3. They answer to my phone call was "we sent you an email" I asked why they sent me an email when I had specifically told them to call my partner and they said that during after "REPAIRING" my phone, it wouldn't power on. And they were trying to get a hold of Apple. They then said a bunch of fluff and coming back on monday. I completely lost it. 4. The front desk worker was kind enough to run home and let me borrow his backup phone until a had a working phone again but the person who had initially dealing with the situation never spoke to me or gave me an explanation, explained what was happening so I contacted Apple myself 5. Apple said it was still an ongoing repair and no request for replacement was put. Not only do I have to wait to get an answer but I will not be having a phone for who knows how long . We also tried to call them today, this all happened yesterday and there was no answer. Still no solution. I want to specifically thank the people in the front who had helped me but the communication, repairs, timing and anything else I would give no stars to and not recommend to come back. It's Saturday and Apple told me if I had gone to them with the broken phone they would've fixed it or gave me a replacement but now I have to wait until Mac made easy is open to even start on a solution I work with special needs and children so having my phone is very important. I recently had my laptop repaired here with Toby. I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for him and his customer service! I came in looking to get my laptop speakers repaired after Apple told me they couldn't fix them because they consider my 2015 MacBook vintage. I first called the store and Toby answered and was up front with me about the process and cost. When I brought my laptop in he explained everything to me and I felt confident in leaving my laptop there for repair. The repair was extremely fast and Toby called me to give provide updates once the parts came in. Couldn't get easy access to help fix my broken iPhone and went here before Apple store because they were booked at the time/not open. Just go to Apple Store to fix your Apple gadgets. They fixed my iPhone without any hassles, biased judgements, and hidden fees. They also have better customer service, are friendly and have empathy for all customers. To the management: I had sent an email over months ago and was left without a response to my issues. So I took it to the actual Apple store and got real help for my broken IPhone 8 Plus that was NOT stolen. (Your team member that incorrectly insisted that it was needs to fix his bias on how he treats people based on how they look.) He shouldn't be talking down to people that don't know what information is needed right away. And you guys had time to review my email and address the concern so either you condone this behavior or just dismissed my email as another disgruntled customer. My mac book was on its last legs. With the quarantine the Ala Moana Apple store was closed. I showed up at Mac Made Easy at 9 am with no appointment, although I had emailed them as they suggested. They were so helpful and honest- I selected the computer I wanted and then left everything to them - they loaded all my files to the new computer and then helped me update my Microsoft office - no problem - Extremely knowledgeable! When you have as much Apple & Mac equipment as me and something goes wrong, do you take it in to the Apple Store? Independant repair shop? Not a chance. You search for a certified repair station or you send it off to the mainland for repairs. I recently began having issues with my system and I didn't know where to turn... now this is not your average home system, I have a MacBook Pro and two very large OWC Thunderbay External Hard Drives with my life's work contained in them. One is a 12Tb and the other is a 36Tb., massive drives! I had to lug them all down to Mac Made Easy in a rolling suitcase, one that would never pass being stowed in an overhead compartment on a plane!!! They are located in Kailua, a bit off the beaten path for me, but I'd drive a hundred miles for their expertise! After checking my equipment in (even they were surprised at the size of those hard drives), I was told that due to workloads, it would be about the middle of the following week before I'd likely get them back. I was in no rush, I just wanted to know they were in good hands and would get repaired. To my surprise, it was one week and a couple days when they called me. Great estimated time line! They were able to resolve my issues and also, unknown to me, my battery was faulty. They checked for me and it was still within the time limit for Apple to replace my battery for free. All I can say is, I'm very relieved and it's like a huge weight was taken off of my shoulders! Also, very reasonable rates. I was pleasantly surprised that didn't owe any balance other than the service fee I paid when I brought it in. If you have photos, important info, etc. stored on your computer, take it from me and back up your info. It can be a small portable SSD drive or cloud backup, or full blown external drive set up like me. When your computer fails, you can sleep knowing that your data is safe! Thank you Mac Made Easy!!! As always the Mac Store was fully booked so decided to check out this store for a battery replacement on my old but still useful iPhone 6 which is unlocked so I can put a local SIM in when out of the country. Note of your using Apple Maps for the location it still uses the old address on Hekili St. use the one in Yelp. Anyway arrived at the store to check in and find out they need to keep the phone, at that point they wanted the password removed, I wasn't happy leaving it like that with the sensitive data stored on your phone these day's so decided to do a factory reset in which all the data would be erased (make sure it's backed up before doing this obviously). Doing this I thought was simply protecting myself from any one snooping around on it which for some reason seemed to upset the person I was working with at the store, like I cared! Anyway got the phone back about 10 days later, probably should have just gotten it done at the Apple Store. read more

Not happy with the service. I've gone here for several years and did it really just for convenience. The service I received was really unprofessional and disappointing. I dropped it off and stated I need it for work and asked for the turnaround time. They said 7 days turnaround and the computer would most likely need to be sent out. It's been 4 days and they haven't looked at it or called me to say it'll be probably an extra week until I get it back. If they knew they were behind I would have appreciated that information so I could take it somewhere else. Not only was the information not communicated, the employee didn't seem to care a bit. I will just go directly to the apple store next time and cut out the 'convenient' middle man. Update: I took my computer directly to an apple store who said they've heard many customers have lots of issues with this store as well. Went to Kailua Mac Made Easy because they have always taken care of the problems I had with my computer. They were so patient and so very helpful. The first representative worked on the computer and felt he needed another representative to look at the problem I was having. He did a lot of set ups on my computer to finally get my desktop to accept any documents that I wanted to leave on it. I was so elated and happy to have a working computer, again. The amazing woman in charge who was clearly closed and cleaning up, unlocked the door for me anyway and helped me find what I needed. They didn't have the exact parts but she found something that would work just as well, and she put it all together to assure I had what I needed. AT&T in Kaneohe sold me a defective phone. My phone wouldn't turn on. I took it To the AT&T less than two months after I bought it , AT&T was so rude and offered NO help. HORRIBLE customer service. It was 2 days before Christmas and my phone was not working and my family was having health issues. I needed a working home. I took it to Mac Made Easy and they were SO helpful and kind. Micah ( I think that is his name) saw I was upset and he did was so nice and helpful. They sent my defective IPhone in under the warranty and set me up with a loaner phone. Apple care appt was scheduled here because Ala Moana was booked up. Live on the Leeward side but love Kailua so nice excuse to head over the H3. Check in was straight forward. They were pretty full with repairs so left my iMac and told they would call in 2-3 days with diagnosis. Promptly got a detailed email from Chris--called him back and he offered a great plan and handled our issue quickly and professionally. Honestly--the ladies who work the counter were great!!! I watched 2 other people ahead of me straight up be rude, even cuss them out because they were mad with store policies or the fact there is a wait for repairs. Blew my mind people could be so rude. They handled both situations professionally. For all the reviews here that slam the front staff--just know that sometimes what you make of a situation or simple things the staff cannot control can create uncalled for reactions--and likely negative Yelp reviews. The conversation started off on a good note, but when it came down to giving her my serial no for my laptop, all of a sudden she's rude and got a bad attitude.
