I love it here and always want to go. Best coffee in Kailua in my opinion. Normally get the Kula Latte and Honu Latte which is super delicious. Quality is just amazing and distinct sweetener. I also appreciate when we get the drinks iced, they don't over ice it like most places where you feel like you're getting ripped off, but it's like it's a perfect amount of ice. We normally go on a Sunday, so thankfully free street parking and just had to cross the street. If you go on other days, just know there's only meter parking that you have to find nearby. Customer service is always amazing and they always ask how you're doing. Some downsides for me personally, there is only outdoor seating. There is a small little bench inside to wait but overall just not a place to hangout for me. We drove out from Honolulu town just for the vibes at Chadlou's Coffee Roasters and it was so worth it. This place did not disappoint. I ordered my usual iced oatmilk latte and it was absolutely perfect. Love this place!! I and my husband had to go Kailua side and then we decided to have coffee break. Use Yelp app and looked for someplace we'd like to try around us. This place is located the corner of Kihapai St. and Ho'olai St. The entrance is face to Kihapai St. side. Looks like huge cafe but once get inside, it's cozy cafe. They have some tables and chairs outside the deck. They have a coffee roaster machine and roast their original blend coffee.(you can buy their beans) When we got there, two customers were there and one staff was working herself. Our turn to order, I'm always hard to make decision person but she gave me the time to think and very kind with smile. I ordered Iced Kula Latte (lavender & vanilla sugar cane syrup) and my husband ordered Iced Coconut Macadamia Nut Herbal Tea (decaf) Latte. Both taste so good but my iced Kula Latte is the winner!!!! As we were driving around we saw this coffee shop at the corner of the street and so glad we stopped by! I love the decorations inside and the products they sell. Once you step in the store you know you'll be getting quality coffee and at first sip it definitely was. We ordered one cold Honu latte (caramel and mac nut sugar cane syrup) and one hot Makapu'u Mocha (Manoa choc, coco/mac nut). ChadLou's Coffee Roasters is the type of 3-star spot that I will keep in my coffee shop rotation and even recommend to others even though it isn't a 5-star experience. They've closed off their inside sitting area-- I believe that now that space is used for their coffee tours / tastings. There are about 5-6 small tables out on their lanai and each table is for two people. Great for coffee dates or solo but not if you have more people and are hoping to hang out over a cup of coffee. Also, there isn't enough chairs to tables. Some tables only had 1 chair or didn't have any chairs at all. I snagged one of those tables with only one chair, which was perfect since I was alone but my seat was in the sun and I moved into the shade when the opportunity came up. I'm not stranger to an overpriced coffee and with a latte coming in at around $7 each this definitely falls into the overpriced coffee category. I will say, that it was a good vanilla latte but nothing that really made it stand out. It's still a good shot of espresso with milk and some vanilla syrup. The syrup isn't locally or homemade either, I took a peek in expecting a local syrup brad that I've become accustomed to and was surprised to see that it wasn't local. I believe that they used to have more pastry / food options. When I came in (around 10am) they didn't have anything after selling out of their mini donuts. The last time we visited this establishment, around 5 years ago, we enjoyed the coffee but they were still going through some remodeling of their location. When we returned just last week, I was quite impressed by their location! A could of experiences, to go order section and a sit down area. Lots of space! Excellent service! I got the kula latte because I'm drawn to those hints of lavender. But the main reason return, and I will return more frequently now, is because i was made a perfect latte. Came here for coffee after a nice sunrise hike nearby. As someone who goes to a lot of cafes in NYC, this was one of my favorites I'd ever been to! That might be partially due to the interesting drink options - I got a really nice cocoa + coffee drink, which tasted super refreshing after a hike. The barista was incredible, I'm sad I didn't write down her name because she did an amazing job explaining all the drinks in a way that made us all excited to try everything, and her actual barista skills were superb too. Small shop, good handful of seats on their mini patio. They're tucked away from the Main Street so it's nice and quiet. Great coffees, great flavors. I'm basic and got the latte. No bitterness or excessive acidity from the coffee. They have premium coffee beans ($$) that I obviously bought into. They were very easy to drink and had great aromatic properties without too much acidity. I think I like it better than Kona Coffee beans but that's just me. My bf and I ordered an iced oat milk latte and iced oat milk matcha latte and our drinks came out very fast! In regards to drinks/quality, I've been trying out more matcha spots, and sadly ChadLou's was not the recommendation for me. The matcha was really clumpy on the bottom and the milk also looked like it was separating/ didn't look mixed well. Additionally, my drink kind of tasted like the Costco brand matcha, not a higher level ceremonial grade. With that said, I believe ChadLou's is more known for their coffee anyway :) I had a sip of my bf's latte and it was so good!!! The coffee taste was super smooth and not bitter at all. It's really great coffee, and the local people are so friendly. The coffees are nicely balanced and not too acidic. They are rich in flavor and full body. We ordered a cappuccino, americanos, and an oatmilk latte. The beans are roasted on property and made by two master roasters *Chad and Lou. We met Chad this day, who was with his little daughter. As an avid coffee drinker, I'm always on the hunt for trying new coffee shops. I've heard good things about ChadLou's from locals and was hoping to be impressed. Sadly, the Manoa Chocolate Mocha tasted very grainy and watery. It was a big let down. I normally enjoy eating Manoa Chocolate bars often and this coffee did not do it justice. Would have been better if they strained the chocolate more. Also tried their other specialty coffees black and was not impressed with the quality/taste. Coffee in Kailua, O'ahu, Hawaii... Because I play mahjong in Kailua every week, I need something nearby to keep me focused on my game. ChadLou's Coffee Roasters has been my partner in staying sharp and grabbing those mahjong tiles quickly! Located on the corner of Kihapai and Hoolai Streets, parking is basically metered street parking. I run in and out, so, I've been lucky... On my first visit, I had a seasonal drink: Pumpkin Spice Bevy. Delicious! But... I wasn't prepared for what I saw... I was really in shock when I realized that the barista was grinding coffee - just for me and my individually prepared cup of fresh coffee! Wow! The coffee didn't come from a pot! That's why I had to return and take a video of the process. The technique is actually quite fast because the barista is very skilled and graceful. It truly is amazing. You should go yourself and see your cup being swiftly crafted! On my second visit, I got an iced Honu Latte with Oat Milk. The caramel and mac nut cane sugar syrup had a very subtle flavor. ChadLou's is my favorite coffee shop in all of Oahu! I will often drive half an hour, from Hawaii Kai to Kailua, just to get my morning coffee here! They are a farm-to-cup specialty coffee company that grows, processes, roasts, and brews their own coffee. It's a small coffee shop on the corner of Hoolai St. and Kihapai in Kailua. It looks and feels like a corner house with a strong community vibe. Metered and street parking is available right outside their shop. No inside seating is available right now, but there are several tables outside that wrap around their shop. Their daily hours seem to vary, but typically it's either 6-7am opening to 2-4pm closing. My favorite coffee drink is their Makapu'u Mocha. It's a double espresso with milk coconut, macadamia nut, and Mānoa Chocolate Mocha for $6.50. It's their most expensive drink. The Manoa chocolate puts this drink over the top! I haven't tried any of their other coffee drinks because I can't seem to wean myself off of the Makapu'u Mocha. Yes, I'm that addicted to it! They have various milks to choose from, such as whole, nonfat, almond and oat. You can also purchase coffee by the bag, which they will grind for you upon request. They also have tea drinks such as regular teas, tea lattes and Dirty Chai. In addition to their coffee and tea drinks, they offer food items from other vendors such as sandwiches, salads, breakfast burritos, wraps, etc. as well as Sage ice cream! I cannot say enough great things about this spot! First of all, it's great because there's free wifi and plenty of covered outdoor seating. The worker Noah was an absolute angel and seriously made my entire day - he was so sweet and knowledgable.
