Thin outer layer, unlike others that are too thick and gummy. Theirs was thin and the filling was tasty. The dipping sauce was the right tang and sweetness. I asked for some hot chili oil which they make in house as well. On to the main dish. I went with the Ginger Shrimp. The sauce was delicious with the right amount of ginger - not overpowered. I placed an order specifically requesting no red pepper flakes in the Singapore Chow Mei Fun. I picked up the order went home. I didn't open the package to eat for almost an hour. When I opened the Singapore noodles they were full of crushed red pepper flakes. I called back and they said they would replace it I told them I would not be coming to pick it up. So they said they would deliver it would be a while. So 2 hours later my dish was delivered but it was not the Singapore noodle it was just the plain Chow Mei Fun no curry. I had specifically told them curry was fine . JUST NO RED PEPPER FLAKES. So I guess they showed me who was boss. They were and they will serve you what they want to serve you. Pro: big parking lot, online ordering. Con: taste. Was looking to try some Chinese food and this location was the closest with decent rating. Went onto there website and place an order for fried wonton, wonton noodle soup, pork fried rice, and beef chow fun. Upon enter the restaurant I see that the interior is kind of outdated but has an old timey feel to it. Collected th food and then went home. For appetizer, first I tried the fried wonton and it was terrible. Either it was over fried or something because it was so stale and hard to chew. Next, I tried the wonton noodle soup and it was very bland in term of broth, noodle, and wonton with no taste to them. The pork fried rice was decent and the best out of everything that was ordered. For the beef chow fun the noodle slightly on the bland side so adding it to soy sauce help but the beef was very tender and flavorful. Originally was going to give this place 3 star rating my then my stomach starting hurting after I finish eating. All in all, I say the experience of eating here will go into my list of one and done so I will not be returning here again in the future. read more

We were in the area for one night stop on drive back and since we've been eating out a lot for the last two weeks, we wanted to just chill in the hotel room and watch a show. . . Which means, take-out!! Naturally we looked on Yelp! And ironically decided Chinese food - guess you can eat it often... But that's also due to the wide selection and options (especially with family members with gluten and dairy allergies). This place was part of a strip mall with an abundance of other food choices. For a typical carry-out option, the interior was very nice and yes, there are tables that you can sit and eat as well. Whole place had nice vibe, large fish tank with big goldfish (not koi), large chandelier, large electronic photo signage to changed at calm rate and clear menu. Once we placed our order (4 different dinner plates) it took what they said 20 minutes and we actually got to enjoy walking down the strip mall to stretch our legs from car ride and see what else is here. Really great service when I came to Eastern's for take out dinner. Sure, it's quick order Chinese but it really was quick. Well less than the ten minutes I was promised when I paid for my order. I was sitting at one of their tables and it was brought to me with a sincere and polite bow with a thanks for my business. A really nice touch. Back at the hotel, we have perfectly cooked spare ribs that weren't heavy on the sauce at all. Main course, General Tso's chicken was as expected. Wow just wow, this is some of the best Chinese food we've had. And of course, with our luck, we're out of towners and we probably won't return anytime soon because of that reason. From the outside it looks like a typical Chinese restaurant but in the inside it looks quite fancy. The menus are in digital format and also paper form on the counter. We ate in and the energetic woman who took our order asked us to sit down. Our food came in less than 10 minutes and it was served with such kindness. *See photos for our entrees - everything was so good, tasty and big enough portions that won't make you feel bloated afterwards. The photos should speak for themselves on how the food looks. Everything tasted as expected, though for dishes marked "spicy", they were quite mild to us. Next time will request that they pump up the heat. Knocked off a star because the hot & sour soup was very high in MSG. It was so high that it literally gave us migraines, and we didn't even finish the whole portion. We were looking for sit-down dining, not carryout, so this place was a poor choice with its four booths (one occupied by an employee) and cartons piled up to the ceiling along one entire side. If you can tolerate eating with a flimsy plastic fork and the cheapest napkins on the planet, enjoy yourself. As for the food, the moo goo gai pan featured slimy, inedible chicken so it didn't pass muster. Egg drop soup was gummy and cornstarchy almost to the point of not being liquid. It's a competent take on Chinese food; nothing special, no surprises. They have a fairly large menu for a restaurant of it's size, and portions are good. They have a few small tables; if you have more than 2 or 3 people, get it to go and take it home; they're good about wrapping takeout containers in foil to keep food warm on the way home. She Who Must Be Obeyed and I have eaten here frequently. Our usual order is kung pao chicken (extra spicy) and cashew chicken, with egg roll and tea. The dishes tasted ok, albeit very tame so if you like spicy food, ask them to amp up the peppers. They have sriracha in bottles if you eat in, or they will also put a small plastic container of hot pepper oil in the bag if you ask for it. Depending on the pressure of time, egg rolls and fried foods can be occasionally a bit greasy, but that seems to be a function of how busy they are. They are big fans of julienned carrots and garlic means LOTS of garlic, so anything with it in the name is not for meeting days. The pork fried rice is excellent. They do delivery (limited radius), take out and eat in. Service is quick and polite, and if you're eating in, they will bring it to your table and are really interested in how you like it. Price is average for this type of food, about $10 a head for an entree , egg roll and tea. They do have lunch and dinner combinations (entree, egg roll or soup, and a soft drink) for reduced prices. Overall, an inexpensive way to get a pretty good meal. read more

Was actually headed next door for my fav Drunken Noodle when my better half and I saw the grand opening sign of Eastern's and decided to divert and sample. The place is cozy and clean. The have a video menu doing a slideshow off things you probably want to eat. This made it a bit hard as I kept seeing other things that looked good. I then asked the friendly owner(?) lady what she recommended and she suggested a few items. We eventually went with the Szechuan beef with vegetables and brown rice and Bourbon chicken with fried rice. Hot tea was free. Also, we don't care for MSG and upon asking she assured us they don't use it. Everything was made fresh and took around 5 minutes. It came out sizzling hot and everything was great. The beef wasn't your typical bottom of the ramekin chewchore, but just right. The bourbon chick is on the very sweeter side--I imagine this will be popular with the little tweeters in town (both those that use sippy cups and those who have a parental data throttle on their phone plans.) The standout surprise is their homemade spicy mustard. I will confess that after a few bites I got a little stupid and dipped a spring roll deep into it, filling a large void and covering the outside of it completely. I am not dramatic (!!!) but it took my breath out of my throat and threw it across the room. A previously unknown reflex occurred-I coughed and cried and came back to life. I felt better than EVER! My sinuses were bored through and I may never need a Zyrtek again. Amazing stuff. Just take it easy and you will be fine. It has a great punchy taste. Love the friendly staff and fresh eats. The service (on the phone) was very nice and friendly, and the order arrived in about an hour. The lady on the phone called to tell me it would take that long because of how busy they were, which was nice. I had the honey chicken. It was... okay. The chicken wasn't very crispy, even though it had a substantial amount of breading (read: mostly fried batter around small pieces of chicken). The sauce was pretty good, though, so that helped. The rice was a strange texture but a decent flavor. The Crab Rangoons were weirdly sweet, which was unexpected. The crispy spring rolls were (surprisingly) crispy, but essentially flavorless. Overall this place is 3.5. Since they deliver quickly and have online ordering, I'm rounding up. Dumplings are really good - perhaps the best in town but, of course, doesn't compare to any major city's Chinatown. Steamed and fried both are very good and the sauce is tasty. Crab rangoons are very cheap and the center is filled well. However the outside of center is tough and difficult to chew. I assume this is imitation crab. I do not usually eat seafood or fish but the flavor is mostly a sweet cream cheese so I get these now and again. Good deal for the price but they may be best eaten in the restaurant rather than delivery or take out. Bourbon chicken has been very sweet and very dry both times I had it. I prefer more authentic Asian flavors with some spice so I would not order this again. Sichuan beef was decent and they had no problem making it extra spicy. Beef quality was okay. I've had several other chicken dishes and asked them to be extra spicy. Every time they have been decent. Not the best but slightly above average for the area. Egg roll is very good. This is my go-to delivery in Winchester. The online ordering is convenient but I'm not sure how secure the credit card payment option is. read more

I ordered via the on-line menu which was very convenient. The pickup was set for ASAP and when I arrived a few minutes later, the order was waiting. I ordered Pepper Steak and Hot and Sour soup. The soup was surprisingly spicy which is a plus. The dinner portion Pepper Steak was quite generous. When combined with the soup, I was able to get two meals from one visit. The Pepper Steak was ordered spicy and while it wasn't nuclear hot, it had some spice. Surprisingly the dish contained a large amount of beef with roughly equal amounts of onion and pepper.
