Pro: big parking lot, online ordering. Con: taste. Was looking to try some Chinese food and this location was the closest with decent rating. Went onto there website and place an order for fried wonton, wonton noodle soup, pork fried rice, and beef chow fun. Upon enter the restaurant I see that the interior is kind of outdated but has an old timey feel to it. Collected th food and then went home. For appetizer, first I tried the fried wonton and it was terrible. Either it was over fried or something because it was so stale and hard to chew. Next, I tried the wonton noodle soup and it was very bland in term of broth, noodle, and wonton with no taste to them. The pork fried rice was decent and the best out of everything that was ordered. For the beef chow fun the noodle slightly on the bland side so adding it to soy sauce help but the beef was very tender and flavorful. Originally was going to give this place 3 star rating my then my stomach starting hurting after I finish eating. All in all, I say the experience of eating here will go into my list of one and done so I will not be returning here again in the future.

So bomb. And my food always comes out so quickly. This place is definitely a must have. Really good Chinese food for this area. I am impressed.

Small spot but it smells delicious in here!

I would rate them higher, but I believe everybody can improve including myself. About the food it was pretty darn good. I usually don't like to let people know when I find a good thing because it drives prices up supply and demand, but this was pretty good for a partial dine in /takeout it really hit the spot. I will be back many times. Remember this is a carry out.

It was OK for the price. Nothing ready much to write about. The order came with a nice calendar. That was nice of them.

Would not recommend. I got beef w/ broccoli. No seasoning or liquid. Also got spring rolls. Very dry.

Ordered on grubhub 30 minutes to closing. Everything is now closed for order after spending a lifetime to order.

I used to go here often...not anymore the food is just not good anymore. I have found better Chinese at different restaurants in town.

Plenty of other options were available for when I get my tolerance for spicy food back, as the place leans Szechuan. Takeout was an efficient process even though they did not take online payments; I just paid when I got there. The location is a bit past the airport, which is probably a better place to look for Chinese food than most of downtown DC.

You get good food at reasonable prices. Some of my favorites include Crispy Shredded Beef in Spicy Sauce, Fried Chicken Nuggets with Basil (a Taiwanese native favorite), and Wrinkled String Beans. Crispy Shrimp with Honey Walnuts is also really good. They offer a wide variety from stir-fries and noodle dishes to seafood, pork, beef, and vegetarian/vegan-friendly options. The kitchen is very accommodating. If you want milder spice, less oil, or custom tweaks, they seem pretty open to it. Because it's not one of those fancy places, the vibe stays relaxed and unpretentious, which I personally like. It's nice for families, friends, or a simple meal out without fuss. I also like to order take-out. :)

The menu is filled with lots of varied choices, including Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai dishes. And to top it all off, the cost of this delicious food is VERY reasonable. Today, for lunch, I ordered Mongolian Beef, accompanied by hot and sour soup, which was perfectly seasoned and balanced, a spring roll, and rice. I had enough to take home left after consuming enough to be satisfied. I recommend that you make Modern Asia your "go-to" Asian restaurant.

SU ordered Kung Pao Shrimp, her "go-to" and every Asian restaurant, and compares each one to China Garden's version. Her verdict: Modern Asia's was "OK", and she told me I could eat the leftovers for my lunch. I did. My verdict was the same: OK, but nothing to write home to Mother about. (My comparison, BTW, is to a restaurant we enjoyed in Ithaca New York that made Kung Pao with peppers that would flay your face from the inside if you dared to eat one. Modern Asia's didn't even tickle, making it a let down). I ordered Seafood Combination Chinese Yellow Curry, a new dish for me. It was yummy. Described as one-pepper spicy on the menu, it had less heat than the Kung Pao, but the curry sauce had layers of flavor. It featured shrimp, scallops, and calmari plus a wonderful mix of peppers, onions, and other veg. All were nicely (crisply) cooked, even taking into account the Door Dash delivery time. I really enjoyed it. Next time I may ask for a bit more heat, but as it is, I hoovered up every morsel. Try it - you'll like it!
